The organization that I have chosen for this project proposal is a non-profit organization based in America known as the Human Right Campaign (HRC). The organization operate in the entire United States and it was founded by Steve Endean in early 1980 as the first ever organization that advocated for lesbian and gay rights in the United States.
Purpose for the Organization’s Existence

The organization represents a force of 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide campaign. It is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, HRC is aimed at creating a world where LGBTQ people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community and it has its headquarters in New York City. Organization of Interest
Through the years, I have developed interest of working with an organization that care for the rights of other people throughout America and this was one of the motivation that pushed me to pick on the human rights campaign organization. The company fall within what I see as a true human rights organization despite the fact that it confines its activities with particular realms of human right and this is the reason I have to do a project n the company. Working on a project on the organization will give me an opportunity to explore the organization deeply and get a better understanding of it organization and activities. I have encountered several people who talked positively about the organization and this gave more interest in the organization as I intent to know how it performs and it achievements so far. organization deeply and get a better understanding of it
organization and activities. I have encountered several people
who talked positively about the organization and this gave more
interest in the organization as I intent to know how it performs
and it achievements so far. Several studies have shown that a
successful organization must consider the interests of its
employees and provide the best services to its target group
(Ismail Al-Alawi et al., 2007). It is my thinking that HRC does
these and that is why it is regarded as one of the most
successful human rights organization in the U.S. At the heart of
3. my interest in the organization is given the fact that the
organization work with the society to ensure that the rights of
all people are respected. As if this is not enough, the company
also work to ensure that environment is conserved at all cost not
forgetting that it provide employment to several people in
America most of them being youths.
Project and its Relationship to the Organization’s Objectives
In this project proposal for my organization of interest HRC is
to construct a new organizational office in Philadelphia which
will provide services to people in Delaware County. The major
function of this organization is to provide services to the people
irrespective of where they are in the society. This is important
as most of the people who suffer human rights violations are in
the periphery of the large urban centers and constructing an
office for the organization in Delaware will significantly help to
ensure that the victims in the region are served timely and
effectively. It is because of this that I am of the opinion that
building a new office at Delaware is an informed decision. The
project proposal is relevant to the organizations objectives of
ensuring that all people with varied sexual orientation are
protected against human rights violation and because of this,
they have to have their presence near the potential victims.
Approved Project Proposal Plan
The project that will be implemented in this proposal is to build
new organization office in Delaware which will help the
organization to bring services to the potential victims which is
central to organizational best practices that will lead to success.
The building will have as many offices that will include
counseling, reporting, legal and organization management
office.
Project Managements
Project management is one of the factors that determine the
success completion of the project. The methodology used to
manage the project must be effective as it should be able to
4. identify project risks before they occur and stall the project
implementation. It is important that projects are implemented by
construction professional so that it can be termed success at the
end of the project implementation. Project management
methodology is the model that project managers use to design,
plan implement and achieve the project goals (Kim & Park,
2006). This project will use Lean Construction Management
methodology as this will allow the project managers to asses
and evaluate the success of the project from time to time. The
project will implemented in stages and this will provide the best
resources for the project successful completion. The project will
utilize research as the main tool to understand the scope of the
project. It is also important to seek consultation from project
experts so as to understand any construction project. This
project will be done in four phases that will include, project
designing, planning, implementation and finally completion.
Project Scope and Scheduling
Understanding project scope is important as it provide the
required data to estimate the project cost and time required to
complete the project (Atkinson et al., 2006). The scope is also
important as it provide the project planners and designers with
the information regarding the activities that will be involved in
the project and the requirements to complete the project
successfully. This project will require both financial and human
resources so as to complete it to the last part of the project. The
project will require a lot of labor force given that it is to be
implemented in the shortest time possible (Herroelen et al.,
2009). The project will require construction materials from the
project implementation. It will also require human capital and
skills which will be vital during planning and designing stages
of the project. The project will be done in the way that it fits
the requirement of an office and therefore, high levels of skilled
manpower will be required.
As earlier discussed, the new office will be constructed to
provide services closer to the people. The activities that will be
included in the project include offices, recreation facilities and
5. multiple offices that will be used for different purposes
including reporting, counseling, provision of legal advice
among other activities that the organization may deem fit to be
carried out at the office (Herroelen et al., 2009). The primary
activities of the project will take at most two months each
activity taking not more than nine hours in a single day. The
activities will be done on a daily basis including weekends.
This project will be developed in one year since it is required to
be successful at the end. The project will begin with
consultation and project evaluation which will be done in one
month. This stage is important as it will identify the best place
where the office will be built. The second stage will be project
design and planning for project implementation (Herroelen et
al., 2009). This stage will take two month as it will require wide
consultation to come up with the best design and plan for the
building. Project implementation which is largely project
construction will take eight months as this is the most crucial
stage that is labor intensive and requires step by step
implementation so that the project is successful. The project
will be done by construction companies which will itself collect
data as far as the project implementation is concerned. This is
important so that the organization can focus on its activities as
the project is implemented.
