Nowadays the need of risk management has been truly augmented but its industrial perspective is very less explored. The product quality can improve by having proper risk management in any process methodology. In this paper, the domain of risk management practice within 20 software organizations in Pakistan Software Industry has been explored. The research begins with the study of practice of risk management in the industry and highlights some particular criteria. After that it investigates how the companies have integrated their risk management with software development. The main focus of study is handling of requirement related risks. Regarding the state of industrial risk management practice, our results show that there are some discrepancies between the industrial practice and the standard models studied. The industrial organizations have not implemented all the important activities as prescribed by the standard models. Hence, this paper suggests a list of issues that need to be addressed particularly of requirement related risk management. that both individually and collectively, the six success factors are all critical to software development
outsourcing in Nigeria. A model was thus derived to predict successful software development outsourcing;

But the gap between current software complexity and the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) knowledge, techniques and tools has grown bigger, even for organizations with high maturity level correctly using Agile methodologies.
Experience tells us that simply adopting Agile was not sufficient for producing software with quality above average. The most efficient techniques and trends from the SQA arsenal, adapted to Agile methodologies, will be discussed. Their cost/benefit ratios will be analyzed, and a process improvement roadmap will be presented, as a practical way to made software deliverables both more agile and with higher technical quality, under the constraints dictated by the Global Economic Crisis.

In software projects that use the Agile methodology, the focus is on development in small iterations to allow both frequent changes and client involvement. This methodology affects the risks that may happen in Agile software projects. Hence, these projects need a clear risk management process to reduce risks and address the problems before they arise. Most software production methodologies must use a framework for risk management, but currently, there is no such framework for the Agile methodology. Therefore, we present a risk management framework for projects that use the Agile methodology to help the software development process and increase the likelihood of the project’s success. The proposed framework states the necessary measures for risk management according to the ISO31000 standard at each stage of the Agile methodology. We evaluated the proposed framework in two running software projects with an Agile methodology by a number of expert experts. The results show that using our proposed framework increases the average positive risk reaction score by 49%.

Impact of software engineering layered technology may vary according to the size of the projects during their development. Quantitative evaluation of layer significance on size of the software project could be categorized as a complex task because it involves a collective decision on multiple criteria. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) provides an effective quantitative approach for finding the significance of software layered technology on size of the projects. This paper presents the estimations through quantitative approach on real time data collected from several software firms. These findings help for a better project management with respect to the cost, time and resources during building a software project.

Modelling Determinants of Software Development Outsourcing for NigeriaIJMTST Journal
Software Development Outsourcing is one of the common practices in global business operations today; a
practice that has to a large extent changed the landscape of IT services in Nigeria. This research predicts a
fitted model using a number of success factors, for software development outsourcing in Nigeria. The
researchers adopted six success factors (Cost Saving and Financial Stability, Effective Communication and
Trust, Technical Expertise and Knowledge Transfer, Understanding Software Development Outsourcing
Industry, Effective Software Privacy and Security, and Overcome Cultural Barrier) for use from a prior study
carried out using factor analysis; and these six success factors were analysed using multiple regression to
determine those that are critical for software development outsourcing. The result of the analysis indicates
that both individually and collectively, the six success factors are all critical to software development
outsourcing in Nigeria. A model was thus derived to predict successful software development outsourcing;

Software development failure rates are higher than any other mankind activity. Lack of quality is frequently the most relevant underlying reason. Agile methodologies offer a framework that try to support change, covering scope and time/budget, and keeping quality at an adequate level at the same time. But the gap between current software complexity and the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) knowledge, techniques and tools has grown bigger, even for organizations with high maturity level correctly using Agile methodologies.
Experience tells us that simply adopting Agile was not sufficient for producing software with quality above average. The most efficient techniques and trends from the SQA arsenal, adapted to Agile methodologies, will be discussed. Their cost/benefit ratios will be analyzed, and a process improvement roadmap will be presented, as a practical way to made software deliverables both more agile and with higher technical quality, under the constraints dictated by the Global Economic Crisis.
The presentation ends with a case study in process improvement for quality in a TSP + Agile scenario, and final recommendations that any organization using Agile methodologies could implement for short-term benefits.
This document discusses using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to analyze causes of longer lead times in software processes at small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It first reviews the software development process for a web application project. It then describes the steps taken in an FMEA: 1) potential failure modes were identified, 2) impacts of each failure were assessed, 3) failures were ranked by severity, 4) likelihoods of occurrences for each failure were ranked, and 5) rankings were assigned to identify which failures were detected most frequently. This FMEA analysis identified specific failure modes contributing to longer lead times and their impacts, allowing SMEs to prioritize addressing high risk failures.

In software projects that use the Agile methodology, the focus is on development in small iterations to allow both frequent changes and client involvement. This methodology affects the risks that may happen in Agile software projects. Hence, these projects need a clear risk management process to reduce risks and address the problems before they arise. Most software production methodologies must use a framework for risk management, but currently, there is no such framework for the Agile methodology. Therefore, we present a risk management framework for projects that use the Agile methodology to help the software development process and increase the likelihood of the project’s success. The proposed framework states the necessary measures for risk management according to the ISO31000 standard at each stage of the Agile methodology. We evaluated the proposed framework in two running software projects with an Agile methodology by a number of expert experts. The results show that using our proposed framework increases the average positive risk reaction score by 49%.

Risk management in software development has always been one of the necessities of software project management. The logical nature of software projects and products has caused several challenges and risks in these projects. On the other hand, with the emergence of agile methodologies, especially Scrum, and extreme programming (XP) methodologies, in recent years, this issue has become more serious. This is mainly because emphasizing limited documentation in these methodologies has caused these methods to pay little attention to some aspects of project management, particularly risk management. Concentrating on this challenge, the current study has proposed a risk management model in the hybrid methodology, combining Scrum and XP. Using this model in a case study shows this model's success in achieving risk management purposes. The results of this study indicate an appropriate reduction in the number of reworks, change requests, identified risks, and occurred risks. Moreover, the number of eliminated risks and team productivity have increased.
Agile techniques that utilize iterative development are broadly used in various industry projects as a lightweight development technique which can satisfy the continuous changes of requirements. Short repetitions are used that are required for efficient product delivery. Traditional and old software development methods are not much efficient and effective to control the rapid change in requirements. Despite the benefits of Agile, criticism on agile methodology states that it couldn’t succeed to pay attention to architectural and design issues and therefore is bound to produce small design-decisions. The past decade has observed numerous changes in systems development with many organizations accepting agile techniques as a viable methodology for developing systems. An increase in the number of research studies reveals the growing demand and acceptance of agile methodologies. While most research has focused on acceptance rate and adaptation of agile practices, there is very limited knowledge of their post-adoption usage and incorporation within organizations. Several factors explain the effective usage of agile methodologies. A combination of previous research in Agile Methodologies, Diffusion of Innovations, Information Systems implementation, and Systems Development has been carried out to develop a research model that identifies the main factors relevant to the propagation and effective usage of agile methodologies in organizations.
This document summarizes a study on the impact of software development models on software delivery time. It analyzes the waterfall and spiral models. A survey was conducted of 22 software projects in India. The results showed that the waterfall model had a higher success rate of 76.4% for on-time delivery compared to 40% for iterative models. The waterfall model was used for 17 of the 22 projects and 13 of those 17 projects delivered on time. This suggests that the waterfall model has a more positive impact on software delivery time than the spiral model based on the sample of projects studied.

Three parameters frequency OFDM, Spatial (MIMO) and time (STC) can be used to achieve diversity in MIMO-OFDM. This technique is dynamic and well-known for services of wireless broadband access. MIMO if used with OFDM is highly beneficial for each scheme and provides high throughput. There are several space time block codes to exploit MIMO OFDM; one of the techniques is called Alamouti Codes. The paper investigates adaptive Alamouti Codes and their application in IEEE 802.11n.
During data acquisition and transmission of biomedical signals like electrocardiography (ECG), different types of artifacts are embedded in the signal. Since an ECG is a low amplitude signal these artifacts greatly degrade the signal quality and the signal becomes noisy. The sources of artifacts are power line interference (PLI), high frequency interference electromyography (EMG) and base line wanders (BLW). Different digital filters are used in order to reduce these artifacts. ECG signal is a non-stationary signal, it is difficult to find fixed filters for the removal of interference from the ECG signal. In order to overcome these problems adaptive filters are used as they are well suited for the non-stationary environment. In this paper a new algorithm “Modified Normalized Least Mean Square” has been proposed. A comparison is made among the new algorithm and the existing algorithms like LMS, NLMS, Sign data LMS and Log LMS in terms of SNR, convergence rate and time complexity. It has been observed that the performance of new algorithm is superior to the existing ones in terms of SNR and convergence rate however it is more complex than the other algorithms. Results of simulations in MATLAB are presented and a critical analysis is made on the basis of convergence rate, signal to noise ratio (SNR), and computational time among the filtering techniques.

This document proposes an approach to improve the efficiency of the Apriori algorithm for association rule mining. The Apriori algorithm is inefficient because it requires multiple scans of the transaction database to find frequent itemsets. The proposed approach aims to reduce this inefficiency in two ways: 1) It reduces the size of the transaction database by removing transactions where the transaction size is less than the candidate itemset size. 2) It scans only the relevant transactions for candidate itemset counting rather than the full database, by using transaction IDs of minimum support items from the first pass of the algorithm. This document analyzes the performance of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) using WiMAX technology with realistic mobility patterns. Low power architecture of logic gates using adiabatic techniquesnooriasukmaningtyas
The growing significance of portable systems to limit power consumption in ultra-large-scale-integration chips of very high density, has recently led to rapid and inventive progresses in low-power design. The most effective technique is adiabatic logic circuit design in energy-efficient hardware. This paper presents two adiabatic approaches for the design of low power circuits, modified positive feedback adiabatic logic (modified PFAL) and the other is direct current diode based positive feedback adiabatic logic (DC-DB PFAL). Logic gates are the preliminary components in any digital circuit design. By improving the performance of basic gates, one can improvise the whole system performance. In this paper proposed circuit design of the low power architecture of OR/NOR, AND/NAND, and XOR/XNOR gates are presented using the said approaches and their results are analyzed for powerdissipation, delay, power-delay-product and rise time and compared with the other adiabatic techniques along with the conventional complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) designs reported in the literature. It has been found that the designs with DC-DB PFAL technique outperform with the percentage improvement of 65% for NOR gate and 7% for NAND gate and 34% for XNOR gate over the modified PFAL techniques at 10 MHz respectively.

DEEP LEARNING FOR SMART GRID INTRUSION DETECTION: A HYBRID CNN-LSTM-BASED MODELgerogepatton
As digital technology becomes more deeply embedded in power systems, protecting the communication
networks of Smart Grids (SG) has emerged as a critical concern. Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3)
represents a multi-tiered application layer protocol extensively utilized in Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA)-based smart grids to facilitate real-time data gathering and control functionalities.
Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion
detection in smart grids. The proposed approach is a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network
(CNN) and the Long-Short-Term Memory algorithms (LSTM). We employed a recent intrusion detection
dataset (DNP3), which focuses on unauthorized commands and Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattacks, to
train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
accuracy rate of 99.50%.
