The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry Essay
The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry
Many of Robert Frost s poems contain the vital ingredient of nature . Frost uses nature as a
metaphor, primarily, in his poems to express the intentions of his poems. He uses nature as a
background metaphor in which he usually begins a poem with an observation of something in
nature and then moves towards a connection to some human situation. He uses rural landscapes,
homely farmers and the natural world to illustrate this human psychological struggle with everyday
situations that we seem to experience.
Frost uses blank verse in The Wood Pile by using an iambic pentameter. This is very typical of
Frost in his nature poetry. We get this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker does not know which road to take; neither of the roads is less travelled by. He has to
make a decision and at the end of the day, the nature of the decision is that there is no Right path,
just a chosen path and the other path as show in The Road Not Taken .
The Wood Pile is appealing, but the point Frost is trying to make could be perhaps speaking of
human effort and what it comes to or hinting at despair. But the last two lines are warming and
carves itself into the poem permanently, perhaps ending the poem with a sense of hope, in that
the wood decays, generating heat, which makes it have some uses, even though it has been
abandoned and left to rot, yet it is a hopeless task all the same. In The Wood Pile , there was hard
snow , which held the speaker back from going any further, but the speaker persists on, but to
only get lost. This leads the speaker to the woodpile to a revelation of human effort, despair and
decay, here is an example where Frost uses nature as a barrier in his poems, but in a worthwhile way.
Another example of this is in the poem, Mending Wall . We have two men meeting only in terms of
civility and neighbourliness to build a barrier between them. They do so out of habit and tradition.
Yet the earth conspires against them, whether at hands of hunters or the

Humanist Art And Philosophy Of The Renaissance
Humanist Art and Philosophy of the Renaissance
Throughout the ages, people have sought for wisdom and truth through philosophical discovery.
The work of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and the other ancient thinkers have bewildered and amazed
people through centuries of study and analysis. However, with the shift of time and belief systems,
the central focus of the European culture concerned not secular wisdom but divine inspiration,
causing for the period we now refer to as the Dark Ages. But as the flame of the church began to
be dampened by suffering and new Humanistic ideals, people like the immensely influential
Marsilio Ficino began to share the ideas of antiquity once again. A Renaissance, or rebirth, of the
human intellect was instigated, and with that came the invigoration of artistic pursuit. Reflecting
the thinking of philosophers of the time, painters and sculptors like Titian, Michelangelo and
Raphael used their craft to advertise this wisdom to the masses. The philosophy of Marsilio Ficino
overlapped with the symbolism of famous paintings privy to the Humanism of the Renaissance.
Ancient philosophers were a tremendous inspiration to the people of the Renaissance this is
perhaps made most apparent in Raphael s School of Athens, a mural painted in the library of a
Papal Apartment in the Vatican between the year 1509 and 1511. The scene depicts a congregation
of philosophers from the past interspersed with High Renaissance artists and patrons. In the centre

Using The Data Of Solar Cell Using Lab View Software Essay
ABSTRACT
The increasing demands of energy and oil, insecure energy resources and emission of hazardous
gases have attracted the attention of the whole world towards renewable energy. In the world, at
this time the future of energy is concentrated much amount on renewable energy sources as the
fossil fuels are decreasing and becoming costly day by day. This proposes very simple, low cost,
high reliable, photovoltaic monitoring system. Lab view is a virtual programming code. So we
can write simple codes in programming them to do assigned task for it. The time taken for writing
code in a lab view is very less compared to the MATLAB and SIMULINK. In this project, we will
monitor the data of PV solar cell using Lab VIEW software. First of all, solar radiation will come
on solar cell. Next, charge will controlled by charge controller and also save the battery from
overcharging. Then, from the battery, given sensor will sense the parameter of solar cell. The
sensed data will be given to Lab view software in this project.

Cars Model In The Interdisciplinary Field Of Computer...
An Analysis of Research Article Introductions Using the CARS Model in the Interdisciplinary Field
of Computer Science and Hospitality Management
Writing a good research article (RA) is essential for scholars and scientists. As genre analysis has
become more mainstream over the past few years, there are a lot of researchers using CARS model,
which was designed by Swales (1990), to study research article instructions (RAIs). As stated by
Swales Feak (2012), there are three moves in the introductory sections of RAs: (1) establishing a
territory, (2) establishing a niche and (3) occupying the niche, and they have a very predictable
order of occurrence. In addition, there are sub moves called steps, some of which are obligatory,
while others ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also argued that the variations in the presence of certain steps may be greater than Swales CARS
model indicated both in different fields and their sub disciplines. For example, the step where the
remaining RA structure is summarized has a very high occurrence in electrical and electronic
engineering RAIs compared to other disciplines, even though it is not obligatory. Furthermore,
introductions in software engineering were found to be rather long because they used a great
amount of cycling, a repetitive use of the moves back and forth, in order to make sure that readers
will have enough background information to understand the articles which is contrary to some of
Swales observations. For instance, Shehzad (2012) discovered that the cycling of move 2 appeared
frequently in computer science echoing past findings. All of these examples show how the CARS
model is used differently depending on RPs subject. Juxtaposing the use of CARS model in RAIs
of computer science and hospitality management, one can clearly see how the applications of
CARS model can vary. Rafik Galea, Mello Arumugam (2013) stated that move 3 was the most
important and frequently utilized of the three moves in hospitality management RAIs. They also
indicated that the most common ordering of the moves in hospitality was move 1 move 3 move 3.
On the other hand, Shehzad (2012) found out that in the computer science field, most authors did
not include the step of listing research

Political Economy And Urban Development Essay
Introduction
In recent years Bangladesh has achieved rapid economic growth and significant progress in social
development despite many other problems. The enviable GDP growth and many other social and
environmental successes have gained until now. But still Dhaka is one of the least livable cities in
the world. Political economy and urban planning both are complex and people and state oriented.
Before discussing about the political economy of urban development process it is necessary to clear
the concept of political economy and the economic system of Bangladesh.
Political Economy
Political economy is the study of production and trade and their links with custom, government
and law. It is the study and use of how economic theory and methods influence and develop
different social and economic systems, such as capitalism, socialism and communism, and it
analyzes how public policy is created and implemented. Since various individuals and groups have
different interests in how a country or economy is to develop, political economy as a discipline is
a complex field, covering a broad array of potentially competing interests (Investopedia).
The term political economy is derived from the Greek polis, meaning city or state, and oikonomos,
meaning one who manages a household or estate. Political economy thus can be understood as the
study of how a country the public s household is managed or governed, taking into account both
political and economic factors (Encyclopedia

Importance Of Sports In My Life
Sports have always been the go to activity in my life, whether it is playing, watching, or reading.
I participated in a few sports but will play any sport for fun. I thrive to watch sports and keep up
with the NFL, NBA, MLB, and all the college sports. My family has enjoyed sports forever and
the love has been handed down from generation to generation. Issues in sports have always been
around and will continue to be around for ages. In my early elementary days, I played upwards
of 5 sports. Flag and tackle football brought me joy because I could throw the ball to the receivers
or run downfield if they were not open. My high schooldid not offer soccer; therefore, I did not

Now to professional teams, I have been a huge fan of the Denver Broncos since I could talk. I
love Sports Authority Field and the entire city of Denver. It brought me joy when Peyton
Manning joined them even though we all know the defense won them Super Bowl 50. When it
comes to NBA and MLB, I do not have necessary favorite teams, but I have favorite players. In
the NBA, I respect Lebron s game and the athletic ability he has brought into the NBA. I enjoy
watching all the NBA games because of the crazy shots and adjustments they can make to get a
bucket. The MLB attracts my attention the least barely liking any of the teams/players, so
whenever I go to an MLB game I always cheer for the home team. Growing up in the middle of
Iowa, several of my friends like Iowa State. I try to be respectful to them but I must put them in
their place when they smack talk me. I have brainwashed my parents and siblings to like the
Broncos and Hawkeyes along with me. My brothers in law are the toughest though because they
are extremely big Cyclone fans. Personal issues that I have had in sports include coaching. At
my school, my teammates dads were always the coach which makes it quite bias when they
come to setting lineup. They always want the best results for their kid whether the game ends in
a win or loss. The way I look at games is, I don t care what happens if we get the win. An issue I
realized this year for my High School

Simulation based nursing education is an increasingly popular academic approach. Structured
facilitated debriefing is an important strategy to engage students in learning and is essential in

The African American Many Rivers We Cross Summary
Episode 5 titled Rise of the PBS series The African Americans Many Rivers We Cross , tells the
story of black Americans fighting for their rights. In this essay I am going to talk about key events
that took place, and my thoughts about them.
We first start of in the 1940 s where black Americans pursued economic opportunity in Chicago
through the Auto Industry. Where they could be paid a steady wage job. African Americans were
given the most dangerous jobs located in the foundry. A time in the middle of World War 2, where
due to labor demand the assembly line became integrated. Where segregation ran ramped, and they
was a lot of hatred toward blacks. In 1943 a race war broke out in Detroit. White Americans rioted,

towards African Americans caused an uproar. While Malcom X was a man who truly wanted to
confront the utter hypocrisy of what the government called law. And yet still have so much
inequality towards African Americans.
Then in 1965, the Voting Rights Act was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. And
though this was passed into legislation the voting process were still rigged against African
Americans. A young man James Meredith began to walk along the south to spread awareness of
the challenges African Americans faced to vote. He was shot two days into his cause. The walk
was continued by Martin Luther King, and current SNCC leader Stokely Carmichael. This was the
beginning of a decline in nonviolent protest by Martin Luther King, and a more result driven
tactics by Stokely. Stokely Carmichael s approach to the civil rights movement. He wanted the
black Americans to embrace their rights and take their freedom. He starts to influence the people
with the phrase Black Power . You find the voice of the African American people change to a more

Aldehydes And Ketones Lab Report
Purpose:
In this experiment, there are five known compounds given and one unknown compound. The
known compounds are: aldehydes, ketones, primary and secondary alcohol, and ester. The Dumas
method is used to determine what the unknown substance is. Both Aldehydes and Ketones are
similar in a way that they both have carbonyl groups in their Lewis structure; the only difference
between the two are that aldehydes are quickly oxidized into carboxylic acids whereas it more
difficult to achieve.1
There are three different types of alcohols; there are primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols. This

Once the unknown solution and Lucas reagent are incorporated, the beaker forms a cloudy solution
within two minutes of heating it in hot water on a hot plate. The unknown substance is not an
aldehyde because there is not formation of silver deposits at the bottom of the beaker when Tollen s
reagent is added to the beaker. The unknown solution would not be a ketone because no
crystallization forms when the reagent phenylhydrazine is added, and the unknown solution would
not be an ester because it does not have the distinctive fragrance that a ketone solution would have.
Lastly, the unknown solution would not be a primary alcohol because no reaction occurs when the

After recording the atmospheric pressure, the temperature, the volume of the flask and determining
the weight of the volatized liquid, the ideal gas law is used to determine what the molar mass of the
unknown compound is. When using the ideal gas law formula, instead of using the number of
moles (n) in the equation, it is replaced with mass over molar mass. This equation is then
rearranged to calculate the molar mass of the unknown solution. The mass calculated for the
unknown solution is 61.74

Design Aspect Of Any Engineering Structure, Machinery And...
INTRODUCTION
In design aspect of any engineering structure, machinery and equipment, the stress concentration is
one of the major considerations for the successful design as it can cause fracture to various
mechanical components and the machine, structure may eventually get failed to function for the
purpose it is supposed to be designed. The rectangular plate with holes and notches find its
application in field of automobile, mechanical, aerospace and marine components. The presence of
holes or notches in such components reduces the mechanical strength due to the large stress
concentration near the holes or notches that causes the alleviation of fracture occurrence under
service loads. Therefore, it is essential to study and analyse the state of stress around the holes and
notches and also the load bearing capacity of these structures or machine components for the
optimum design with safe life of component [1].The cause of highly localized or accumulation of
stress near the change of cross section or clustering of stress lines at the point of discontinuity is
termed as stress concentration [2].The principal cause of stress raisers like holes notches, because
concentrated stresses larger than theoretical cohesive strength will generally cause local plastic
deformation and redistribution of stresses [3].There are different ways of determining the stress
concentration factor in flat plates. Experimental, numerical and analytical methods are used to
determine stress

The Corruption Of The Puritans In New England In 1639
Deciding that religious freedom is worth the risks, the puritans crossed the sea. Puritans were
reformed protestants and believed that the church of England was still too much like it was before.
They believed the church of was corrupt. They didn t break from the church but sought to reform
it, so they set out for the New World in the 1630. When they arrived in the New Englandarea they
decided to start a new colony. The puritans were very strict and didn t tolerate other religions.
Thomas Hooker was the founder of Connecticut colony and a prominent puritan minister. His most
famous sermon was on May 31, 1638 on Principles of Government. This influenced the
fundamentals of government in 1639. Roger Ludlow wrote most of the fundamentals of government,

Renewable And Non Renewable Energy Sources
Renewable and non renewable energy sources are used daily in our lives. According to Conserve
Energy Future (n.d.), Renewable energy is the energy from natural sources i.e. sun, wind, rain,
tides and can be generated again and again as and when required [...] Non Renewable energy is
the energy which is taken from the sources that are available on the earth in limited quantity and
will vanish fifty sixty years from now. Finding ways to use renewable energysources rather than
non renewable source would help stop the negative environmental impacts created by a growing
human population and would be very beneficial to our society. Today, I will assess my own
energy use; determine which renewable sources of energy would be the most and least
appropriate for where I live; discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the energy sources I
currently rely on; describe how technological advancements have facilitated the implementation of
renewable energy; and discuss ways in which I could reduce energy used at home, work or in other
areas of my daily life.
Energy Self Assessment I live in Lincoln, NE and energy plays a key role throughout my daily
process. A few examples of energy use for me are: using gasoline to drive to work; the lights that
surround my house and garden beds; my gas fire place that always stays lit; electricity to make
my coffee machine run; and the use of golf balls during my leisure time. While I can discuss how I
use energy, it is also important to know

If Belstaff was a person, it would definitely be an intrepid, tough and stylish man, who drinks the

Similarities Between The Robot And Frankenstein
Frankenstein vs The Robot
In each of the books, Frankenstein and the Rebellious Robot, I think the author chose for specific
point of views to create a certain mood based off the character s feelings. The author s chose their
main point of view to set a certain mood. Though the author s were different I think the moods were
very alike, with frankenstein it was extreme fear and worry. In the robot it was on a lower level and
more like greta was weary of the robot instead of just plain afraid. While the moods could have
been set the same way using different tactics, don t you wonder why the books were in the point of
view they were?

Effectiveness of Narcotics Anonymous for Adolescents
Drug addiction can be a powerful and complex situation for some individuals to gain control of.
Research and health professionals have historically shown that 12 step programs provide the tools
and healthy social networks that are immensely beneficial to achieving sobriety. However, prior
studies have largely focused on these programs effectiveness for adults, whereas younger
populations are also seeking treatment for drug addiction. This longitudinal study will have only
adolescent participants to enhance the minimal research that has been done on this population. It is
relevant to social work because the results of this study will help social workers to better
understand that Narcotics Anonymous may be more effective for some adolescents, namely those
with many positive social supports as compared to those with few positive social supports.

A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man Religion
The word religion is defined as the belief in a God/group of Gods; an organized system of beliefs,
ceremonies and rules used to worship a God or a group of Gods. I believe religion is important
to every human being. Without it we are unaware of our true beliefs in life and ourselves.
Growing up and going to Catholic School, I learned without God you can become lost and in need
of a God to follow behind and learn from.
As I started out reading A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, basically Stephen s autobiography

Religion was the center of life for Stephen Dedalus as a child.
Religion is a significant and recurring theme in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Stephen

Essay on Coping Mechanisms in Kurt Vonnegut’s...
People react differently to tragedies: some mourn, some speak up, and some avoid the sorrow. In
Slaughterhouse Five, Kurt Vonnegut suggests the danger and inhumanity of turning away from the
discomfort by introducing Billy Pilgrim as someone who is badly affected by the aftermath of the
Dresden bombing, and the Tralfamadorians as the aliens who provide an easy solution to Billy. It is
simpler to avoid something as tragic as death, but Vonnegut stresses the importance of confronting
it. Vonnegut, like many artists, expresses his ideas through his creations. The significance of art is
not confined to helping and inspiring the general public; the process of creating art also becomes
another form of coping mechanism for artists. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the greatest impacts caused by disasters is one s motivation for living. In Slaughterhouse
Five, many characters display twisted minds after experiencing wars. Billy and Rosewater find
life meaningless, because they witness too many dead bodies in war; Lazzaro finds the sweetest
thing to be revenge. As wars bring distorted senses to people, Vonnegut presents two opposing
coping methods in Slaughterhouse Five: One is the Tralfamadorians passive idea and the other is
the narrator s humane notion. The overall concept of the Tralfamadorians is to ignore the awful
times, and concentrate on the good ones (Vonnegut 150). They do not look back, not even
forward; they focus on the scattering patch of good moments regardless of time. A similar idea is
how they have come to regard death: in bad condition in that particular moment, and that the
person is just fine in plenty of other moments. The thought it is more important that a person has
lived a brilliant life is comforting; however, it disregards the possibilities a person has as long as
he or she lives. In an interview, Vonnegut points out that he resents the promising ideas, the
Utopianism, in science fiction (qtd in Simpson 261). This is disclosed in Breakfast of Champions,

Governments have over the years been forced to spend massive funds in arresting and detaining
criminals who relapse back to the crime the moment they are released. Research according to
(BJS, 2014), has proven that within a period of five years, three out of four malefactors who
initially were punished for crimes relapse back to similar or different criminal activities. Many
nations have already put in place mechanisms to counter this problem in vain. It is for this reason
that this unique project has been presented and needs to be handled with the importance and
urgency that it deserves.
The background of this project is based on an in depth analysis of repeat offending. This entails the
factors responsible or contributing to recidivism. Research has proven that most of the repeat
malefactors are the kids who were exposed to violence at a very early age, those who did not
attain very high levels of education, those who have got minor to serious psychological problems,
the unemployed who have some low level education as well as those involved in the abuse of hard
drugs. Effectively dealing with this problem thus lies in dealing with these issues. Arresting
criminals and subjecting them to the greatest of punishments has not seemed to work so far
because after the punishment, for as long as the underlying factors remain constant, one will
always forget the consequences of crime and relapse back to it if an

The Value Of Financial Ratio Analysis
When the economy expands, most industries and companies benefit and grow with it and the
reverse is true, that is why it is important for analysts or even individual investors to keep an eye on

Employment indicators
The unemployment rate measures the rate at which the economy is operating at full capacity. It
also has its roots embedded in the great depression when the rate reached about 25% (rbcpa.com).
The unemployment rate is defined as the percentage of unemployed workers in the entire labor
force (Bodie, et al, 2011). When people are unemployed the economy loses their contribution in
terms of goods and services. The increase in the percentage of unemployed indicates the extent of
economic hardship faced by the nation, therefore it is important for policymakers to know the
number of unemployed workers in an economy in order to make better decisions in regards to the
growth of the economy.
Government fiscal and monetary policy
Fiscal policy is the ability of the federal government to increase and decrease its spending, if
government spending is zero, there will limited economic growth (Mitchell, 2005). Current
government borrowing shifts the burden to future generations to repay debt. An example of how
this policy has been used in the past to improve the economy is when the Federal Reserve
System lowered its discount rate and in early 2008 Congress passed the Economic Stimulus Act
of 2008 (govtrack.us). The legislation gave taxpayers a tax rebate in the form of a check up to
$600 for single filers, $1200 for married couples filing jointly (cnn.com). The hope was that
consumers would take these checks and spend them to help keep the economy moving

Causes Of The Harlem Renaissance
The Harlem Renaissance was an important national movement with connections to international
developments in art and culture in the African American culture (Wintz). The movement also
known as the Jazz Age , started on different dates depending on the viewer s interpretation of the
Harlem Renaissance. For instance, if your interpretation of the Harlem Renaissance is literature,
then it began in the year 1924. However, most people associate the year 1920 with the creation
of the Harlem Renaissance. The Great Migration was one major start to the Harlem Renaissance
due to the movement of African Americans from the South to Harlem. The Great Migration was
caused by racial discrimination against African Americans as well as slavery. There were racial
groups such as the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) that used violence against African Americans to prove a
point. Not only were the KKK the cause of the Great Migration but as well as the wanting of
improvement in lifestyle. Harlem provided the African Americans the opportunity to receive a
better paying job to support their families as well as superior education. As we all know, African
Americans did not have an easy life in the South as a result of slavery and segregation. As a result,
many African Americans saw Harlem in New York as an opportunity to improve their family s
lifestyles along with their own. This led to the development of African American culture, such as
jazzmusic, art and literature. For instance, Chick Webbreflects the ideas, values and contributions
of the Harlem Renaissance through his accomplishments and musical influence. William Henry
Webb was a famous swing era jazz drummer and bandleader, however; he did face many
challenges to accomplish his goal. William Henry Webb was born in Baltimore, Maryland with
spinal tuberculosis. Spinal tuberculosis affects the spinal vertebrates, which causes the individual
to have a lump in their back and prevent them from growing like a normal human being. As a
result, William Henry Webb was given the nickname Chick Webb. In addition, his date of birth is

Milton Friedman Summary
American Economists, Milton Friedman stated in his famous 1970 New York Times Magazine
article, the manager is the agent of the individuals who own the corporation , he continues with
writing about how the manager s primary responsibility is to conduct the business in accordance
with [the owner s] desires . While at this time, this assumption was greatly appreciated considered,
many economists have to come to the realization that there are a lot of flaws associated with this
view. It has since then been developed and critiqued. In this essay, it is my intention to discuss the
implications and problems that came along with Friedman s opinion. Touching upon theories such
as the principal agenttheory to solidify the limitations of this view in practice. I will also discuss
the relationship between a shareholder centered perspective and value transfer and value creation.
First, we must understand what Friedman s view is on corporate social responsibility. What are the
social responsibilities that a corporationmust follow? Friedman discussed in his article that it is
the corporation s responsibility to make as much money as possible for the stockholder. This
statement made by him made me wonder about safety for the workers, excessive pollution, and
how situations are handled in less developed countries and child labor laws. I think that Friedman
was not aware how this statement would be interpreted, especially in an inappropriate way. He was
probably looking at the short

  • 2. The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry Essay The Presentation of Nature in Robert Frost s Poetry Many of Robert Frost s poems contain the vital ingredient of nature . Frost uses nature as a metaphor, primarily, in his poems to express the intentions of his poems. He uses nature as a background metaphor in which he usually begins a poem with an observation of something in nature and then moves towards a connection to some human situation. He uses rural landscapes, homely farmers and the natural world to illustrate this human psychological struggle with everyday situations that we seem to experience. Frost uses blank verse in The Wood Pile by using an iambic pentameter. This is very typical of Frost in his nature poetry. We get this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker does not know which road to take; neither of the roads is less travelled by. He has to make a decision and at the end of the day, the nature of the decision is that there is no Right path, just a chosen path and the other path as show in The Road Not Taken . The Wood Pile is appealing, but the point Frost is trying to make could be perhaps speaking of human effort and what it comes to or hinting at despair. In The Wood Pile , there was hard snow , which held the speaker back from going any further, but the speaker persists on, but to only get lost. Another example of this is in the poem, Mending Wall . We have two men meeting only in terms of civility and neighbourliness to build a barrier between them. They do so out of habit and tradition. Yet the earth conspires against them, whether at hands of hunters or the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Humanist Art And Philosophy Of The Renaissance Humanist Art and Philosophy of the Renaissance Throughout the ages, people have sought for wisdom and truth through philosophical discovery. The work of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and the other ancient thinkers have bewildered and amazed people through centuries of study and analysis. However, with the shift of time and belief systems, the central focus of the European culture concerned not secular wisdom but divine inspiration, causing for the period we now refer to as the Dark Ages. But as the flame of the church began to be dampened by suffering and new Humanistic ideals, people like the immensely influential Marsilio Ficino began to share the ideas of antiquity once again. A Renaissance, or rebirth, of the human intellect was instigated, and with that came the invigoration of artistic pursuit. Reflecting the thinking of philosophers of the time, painters and sculptors like Titian, Michelangelo and Raphael used their craft to advertise this wisdom to the masses. The philosophy of Marsilio Ficino overlapped with the symbolism of famous paintings privy to the Humanism of the Renaissance. Ancient philosophers were a tremendous inspiration to the people of the Renaissance this is perhaps made most apparent in Raphael s School of Athens, a mural painted in the library of a Papal Apartment in the Vatican between the year 1509 and 1511. The scene depicts a congregation of philosophers from the past interspersed with High Renaissance artists and patrons. In the centre ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Cars Model In The Interdisciplinary Field Of Computer... An Analysis of Research Article Introductions Using the CARS Model in the Interdisciplinary Field of Computer Science and Hospitality Management Writing a good research article (RA) is essential for scholars and scientists. As genre analysis has become more mainstream over the past few years, there are a lot of researchers using CARS model, which was designed by Swales (1990), to study research article instructions (RAIs). As stated by Swales Feak (2012), there are three moves in the introductory sections of RAs: (1) establishing a territory, (2) establishing a niche and (3) occupying the niche, and they have a very predictable order of occurrence. In addition, there are sub moves called steps, some of which are obligatory, while others ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also argued that the variations in the presence of certain steps may be greater than Swales CARS model indicated both in different fields and their sub disciplines. For example, the step where the remaining RA structure is summarized has a very high occurrence in electrical and electronic engineering RAIs compared to other disciplines, even though it is not obligatory. Furthermore, introductions in software engineering were found to be rather long because they used a great amount of cycling, a repetitive use of the moves back and forth, in order to make sure that readers will have enough background information to understand the articles which is contrary to some of Swales observations. For instance, Shehzad (2012) discovered that the cycling of move 2 appeared frequently in computer science echoing past findings. All of these examples show how the CARS model is used differently depending on RPs subject. Juxtaposing the use of CARS model in RAIs of computer science and hospitality management, one can clearly see how the applications of CARS model can vary. Rafik Galea, Mello Arumugam (2013) stated that move 3 was the most important and frequently utilized of the three moves in hospitality management RAIs. They also indicated that the most common ordering of the moves in hospitality was move 1 move 3 move 3. On the other hand, Shehzad (2012) found out that in the computer science field, most authors did not include the step of listing research ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Political Economy And Urban Development Essay Introduction In recent years Bangladesh has achieved rapid economic growth and significant progress in social development despite many other problems. The enviable GDP growth and many other social and environmental successes have gained until now. But still Dhaka is one of the least livable cities in the world. Political economy and urban planning both are complex and people and state oriented. Before discussing about the political economy of urban development process it is necessary to clear the concept of political economy and the economic system of Bangladesh. Political Economy Political economy is the study of production and trade and their links with custom, government and law. It is the study and use of how economic theory and methods influence and develop different social and economic systems, such as capitalism, socialism and communism, and it analyzes how public policy is created and implemented. Since various individuals and groups have different interests in how a country or economy is to develop, political economy as a discipline is a complex field, covering a broad array of potentially competing interests (Investopedia). The term political economy is derived from the Greek polis, meaning city or state, and oikonomos, meaning one who manages a household or estate. Political economy thus can be understood as the study of how a country the public s household is managed or governed, taking into account both political and economic factors (Encyclopedia ... INTRODUCTION In design aspect of any engineering structure, machinery and equipment, the stress concentration is one of the major considerations for the successful design as it can cause fracture to various mechanical components and the machine, structure may eventually get failed to function for the purpose it is supposed to be designed. The rectangular plate with holes and notches find its application in field of automobile, mechanical, aerospace and marine components. The presence of holes or notches in such components reduces the mechanical strength due to the large stress concentration near the holes or notches that causes the alleviation of fracture occurrence under service loads. Therefore, it is essential to study and analyse the state of stress around the holes and notches and also the load bearing capacity of these structures or machine components for the optimum design with safe life of component [1].The cause of highly localized or accumulation of stress near the change of cross section or clustering of stress lines at the point of discontinuity is termed as stress concentration [2].The principal cause of stress raisers like holes notches, because concentrated stresses larger than theoretical cohesive strength will generally cause local plastic deformation and redistribution of stresses [3].There are different ways of determining the stress concentration factor in flat plates. • 36. Essay on Coping Mechanisms in Kurt Vonnegut’s... People react differently to tragedies: some mourn, some speak up, and some avoid the sorrow. In Slaughterhouse Five, Kurt Vonnegut suggests the danger and inhumanity of turning away from the discomfort by introducing Billy Pilgrim as someone who is badly affected by the aftermath of the Dresden bombing, and the Tralfamadorians as the aliens who provide an easy solution to Billy. It is simpler to avoid something as tragic as death, but Vonnegut stresses the importance of confronting it. Vonnegut, like many artists, expresses his ideas through his creations. The significance of art is not confined to helping and inspiring the general public; the process of creating art also becomes another form of coping mechanism for artists. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the greatest impacts caused by disasters is one s motivation for living. In Slaughterhouse Five, many characters display twisted minds after experiencing wars. Billy and Rosewater find life meaningless, because they witness too many dead bodies in war; Lazzaro finds the sweetest thing to be revenge. As wars bring distorted senses to people, Vonnegut presents two opposing coping methods in Slaughterhouse Five: One is the Tralfamadorians passive idea and the other is the narrator s humane notion. The overall concept of the Tralfamadorians is to ignore the awful times, and concentrate on the good ones (Vonnegut 150). They do not look back, not even forward; they focus on the scattering patch of good moments regardless of time. A similar idea is how they have come to regard death: in bad condition in that particular moment, and that the person is just fine in plenty of other moments. The thought it is more important that a person has lived a brilliant life is comforting; however, it disregards the possibilities a person has as long as he or she lives. In an interview, Vonnegut points out that he resents the promising ideas, the Utopianism, in science fiction (qtd in Simpson 261). This is disclosed in Breakfast of Champions, when Kilgore Trout indirectly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Governments have over the years been forced to spend massive funds in arresting and detaining criminals who relapse back to the crime the moment they are released. Research according to (BJS, 2014), has proven that within a period of five years, three out of four malefactors who initially were punished for crimes relapse back to similar or different criminal activities. Many nations have already put in place mechanisms to counter this problem in vain. It is for this reason that this unique project has been presented and needs to be handled with the importance and urgency that it deserves. The background of this project is based on an in depth analysis of repeat offending. This entails the factors responsible or contributing to recidivism. Research has proven that most of the repeat malefactors are the kids who were exposed to violence at a very early age, those who did not attain very high levels of education, those who have got minor to serious psychological problems, the unemployed who have some low level education as well as those involved in the abuse of hard drugs. Effectively dealing with this problem thus lies in dealing with these issues. Arresting criminals and subjecting them to the greatest of punishments has not seemed to work so far because after the punishment, for as long as the underlying factors remain constant, one will always forget the consequences of crime and relapse back to it if an ... The Value Of Financial Ratio Analysis When the economy expands, most industries and companies benefit and grow with it and the reverse is true, that is why it is important for analysts or even individual investors to keep an eye on the economy to determine when it is going to be beneficial for them to invest their money. The economic environment indicators assist these investors in determining the state of the economy. Employment indicators The unemployment rate measures the rate at which the economy is operating at full capacity. It also has its roots embedded in the great depression when the rate reached about 25% (rbcpa.com). The unemployment rate is defined as the percentage of unemployed workers in the entire labor force (Bodie, et al, 2011). When people are unemployed the economy loses their contribution in terms of goods and services. The increase in the percentage of unemployed indicates the extent of economic hardship faced by the nation, therefore it is important for policymakers to know the number of unemployed workers in an economy in order to make better decisions in regards to the growth of the economy. Government fiscal and monetary policy Fiscal policy is the ability of the federal government to increase and decrease its spending, if government spending is zero, there will limited economic growth (Mitchell, 2005). Current government borrowing shifts the burden to future generations to repay debt. An example of how this policy has been used in the past to improve the economy is when the Federal Reserve System lowered its discount rate and in early 2008 Congress passed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 (govtrack.us). The legislation gave taxpayers a tax rebate in the form of a check up to $600 for single filers, $1200 for married couples filing jointly (cnn.com). Causes Of The Harlem Renaissance The Harlem Renaissance was an important national movement with connections to international developments in art and culture in the African American culture (Wintz). The movement also known as the Jazz Age , started on different dates depending on the viewer s interpretation of the Harlem Renaissance. For instance, if your interpretation of the Harlem Renaissance is literature, then it began in the year 1924. However, most people associate the year 1920 with the creation of the Harlem Renaissance. The Great Migration was one major start to the Harlem Renaissance due to the movement of African Americans from the South to Harlem. The Great Migration was caused by racial discrimination against African Americans as well as slavery. There were racial groups such as the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) that used violence against African Americans to prove a point. Not only were the KKK the cause of the Great Migration but as well as the wanting of improvement in lifestyle. Harlem provided the African Americans the opportunity to receive a better paying job to support their families as well as superior education. As we all know, African Americans did not have an easy life in the South as a result of slavery and segregation. As a result, many African Americans saw Harlem in New York as an opportunity to improve their family s lifestyles along with their own. This led to the development of African American culture, such as jazzmusic, art and literature. For instance, Chick Webbreflects the ideas, values and contributions of the Harlem Renaissance through his accomplishments and musical influence. Milton Friedman Summary American Economists, Milton Friedman stated in his famous 1970 New York Times Magazine article, the manager is the agent of the individuals who own the corporation , he continues with writing about how the manager s primary responsibility is to conduct the business in accordance with [the owner s] desires . While at this time, this assumption was greatly appreciated considered, many economists have to come to the realization that there are a lot of flaws associated with this view. It has since then been developed and critiqued. In this essay, it is my intention to discuss the implications and problems that came along with Friedman s opinion. Touching upon theories such as the principal agenttheory to solidify the limitations of this view in practice. I will also discuss the relationship between a shareholder centered perspective and value transfer and value creation. First, we must understand what Friedman s view is on corporate social responsibility. What are the social responsibilities that a corporationmust follow? Friedman discussed in his article that it is the corporation s responsibility to make as much money as possible for the stockholder. This statement made by him made me wonder about safety for the workers, excessive pollution, and how situations are handled in less developed countries and child labor laws. I think that Friedman was not aware how this statement would be interpreted, especially in an inappropriate way. He was probably looking at the short ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
