The Faith of Our Father - Romans 4:1-25David Turner
Abraham was not considered righteous because he was righteous. God declared him righteous because of his faith in God's promises. In the same way, no Christian can boast in his own righteousness. His righteousness is accounted to him through his faith in the righteousness and finished work of Christ. Download this and other PowerPoint Sermons at BibleGuy.org.
God gave us His Word for a purpose. God wants us to be with Him in heaven. To do this we must change from serving Satan to serving God. God gave His Word so we would know how to live our lives. God gave His Word so we would change.

The head is the location of our thoughts and memories. We must protect our minds by putting on the helmet of salvation. The mind cannot be transformed without Christ becoming the center of our thoughts. The transformation saves us from the vane belief systems and ethical impure thoughts of the world. Many people think it is enough that they pray without ever bothering to know who God is, what His plans are, how He answers prayers and how man should communicate with Him.
It is common to see people praying only when they have a pressing need at hand. The needs they bring to God vary from finances to health to career success to material things to relationships. This is the kind of prayer, which hardly makes time for listening and understanding, fits well those who almost always rush to get ahead in life.
Just what kind of prayer brings a life of purpose and blessing? Is it the one that we can easily memorize and recite when we are too desperate already? Is it the one that tolerates small sins that we think don’t matter much to God? Or is it the sort that encourages us to be more religious or push confidently for our plans?
So much can be said about prayer but if we want to intimately experience God through prayer then we ought to turn and cling to what is perfect, reliable and true---the Bible.
It is the hope of this message to share what the Bible clearly says about prayer and lead the hearers to understand how biblical prayer can align their lives with God’s purposes.
Girt Your Loins In Truth - Ephesians 6:14aDavid Turner
Paul tells the Ephesian Christians to girt their loans in truth. One's loins is the center of one being. It is the place stability. In a world which runs on the current of popular opinion it's often difficult to discern truth. Is is found in science, or philosophy, or politicians or power. Real truth is found in Jesus Christ who proclaimed, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father accept through me." This is the truth that Paul encourages the Ephesians gird their loins with. It's the same truth we ought to hold tight to our core. 1. Imagine yourself appearing before God. What will you do? …say? …feel? What would you change if you knew your appearance before God was today? How does your relationship with God now affect your appointment before Him eventually?
Does salvation and eternal life with our Creator come just by belief only? Does it require ANY effort on our part? Is the typical Evangelical teaching about the "sinner's prayer" and "once saved, always saved" true or false?

Faith that saves is a working faith, we can't separate our faith from our works, there is a difference between works of the law and christian works, works are involved in our salvation, we will be judged by our works not our faith.

The Spirit of Holiness & The Sanctification of Man Part 1: The Spirit of Jesus Christ
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. (Romans 1:4)
Our salvation and Sanctification are from the gift of Christ and all gifts of Christ are communicated to us and given to us by the Spirit of Christ – The Holy Spirit.
IT IS ALL ABOUT THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN HEART OF MANKIND BASED ON THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS AT CALVARY & ITS BENEFITS FOR MANKIND
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." (John 15:5).
All communications of supplies and relief, in the beginnings, increases, actions of any grace whatsoever, from Jesus Christ, are by The Holy Spirit, by whom He alone works in and upon us (believers).
FROM HIM WE HAVE OUR SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION
Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:31)
THEREFORE BEING BY THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD EXALTED, AND HAVING RECEIVED OF THE FATHER THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY GHOST, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (Acts 2:33)
Abram’s Salvation
Gen 15:1-6
I. Scripture
No Salvation outside of Scripture.
“the word of the LORD”
II. Situation
Salvation is the promise of the impossible.
“This shall not be”
III. Surrender
Salvation is the result of complete Surrender to God.
“he believed in the Lord”
John 1:6-13 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us that we should be called children of God. Children get the Father's love. God's spirit dwells in His children. Children get to be like the Father. Children get corrected by the Father. Children receive the inheritance.
Hebrews 4:11-16. Let us: Use our gifts. Walk properly. Not judge one another. Pursue peace and edification. Not commit sexual immorality. Not tempt Christ. Take heed. cleanse ourselves. Walk in the Spirit. Not become conceited. Not grow weary. Do Good. Press toward the goal. Not sleep but watch and be sober. Not love in word or tongue but in deed and truth. Love one another. Be glad and rejoice and give him glory.
Hebrews 4:11-13 God's Word: Produces faith, cleanses us, brings reconciliation, tells us how to be saved, blesses us, answers life's questions, solves life's problems, helps us weather life's storms, tells us what is right and wrong, produces fruit in our lives, will judge us.
Do you look like your parents? For me, some may say I really look like my dad. He just smiles more often and I don’t. Hehe. It’s just amazing to see how a child can really resemble his or her father or mother. We have a resemblance to our earthly parents no matter who big or small it may be. But we should also consider our resemblance to our heavenly Father. We will learn a lot about this as we study 1 John chapter 3.
I John 2:28-3:3 Tests for Christians. Do you abide in Christ? Do you practice righteousness? Who knows you? Are you a child of God? Are you pure, just as He is pure? What is your identity?

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. Romans 4 1
What shall we say then that Abraham
our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
2
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath
whereof to glory; but not before God. 3
For what
saith the Scripture? (Gen 15:6) Abraham believed
God, and it was countedcounted unto him for
righteousness.
2
Some want us to be counted righteousrighteous
because of our worksour works;
They thinkthink it gives them bragging rights.
3. But even Father Abraham was countedcounted righteous
by his faith and notand not by his works.

We know that he liedhe lied on some occasions.
He doubteddoubted that God would give him a son

He lay withlay with his wife's handmaiden.
4. Just like us, Abraham neededneeded grace and mercy.
4
He could not benot be righteous in his own works.
He had to be countedcounted righteous.
His faithfaith had to be counted for righteousnessfor righteousness.
5. 4
Now to him that worketh is the reward not
reckoned of grace, but of debt.

6. If our salvationsalvation or any part of our relationship

But as we saw this morning in 3:10
"There is none righteous, no, not one."
If we needneed grace and mercy, and we have

We must grantgrant grace and mercy

7. 5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on
Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted
for righteousness.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ

8. 6
Even as David also describeth the blessedness of
the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness
without works, 7
Saying, Blessed are they whose
iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not
impute sin.

Cometh this blessedness then upon the circum-
cision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for
we say that faith was reckoned (counted) to
Abraham for righteousness. 10
How was it then
reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in
uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in
uncircumcision.

Did God count Abe's faith for righteousness

11. Genesis 15 1-3
After these things the Word of the
Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear
not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding
great reward. And Abram said, Lord GOD, what
wilt Thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the
steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
And Abram said, Behold, to me Thou hast given
no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine
heir.
11
12. 4
And, behold, the Word of the Lord came unto
him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he
that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall
be thine heir. 5
And he brought him forth abroad,
and said, Look now toward Heaven, and tell the
stars, if thou be able to number them: and He said
unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6
And he believed
in the Lord; and He counted it to him for
righteousness.

In chapter 16 Sarai convinced Abe to
have a son with Hagar.
13. Genesis 17 24

14. John 3 16-18
For God so loved the world, that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the
world to condemn the world; but that the world
through Him might be saved. He that believeth on
Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
