This document discusses the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ based on passages from the Bible. It describes Jesus' crucifixion and burial, the discovery of the empty tomb by Mary and others, Jesus' appearances after resurrection including to Mary and the disciples, and Thomas' belief after seeing Jesus. It emphasizes that Jesus died for our sins so that through faith in Him we may have eternal life. It invites readers to accept Jesus as their savior and be born again by praying to God in faith.
Words of Jesus (Doctrine: What Jesus Said)Rick Bruderick
In exploring Church doctrine, followers of the Lord Jesus Christ can't dismiss His Words. They are the way, the truth and the life. Here we compare 3 conversations about acquiring eternal life.
The Bible records events in which Jesus discusses His mother. He gave public credit to His followers for being His mothers and His brothers. Spiritual mothers should be honored.
When Jesus made His final triumphant return entry into Jerusalem the people laid their coats on the ground and shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" Their hope and respect for Jesus was obvious. The Pharisees however had a different reaction, accusing Him of blasphemy because he accepted their praise. Five days later that same adoring crowd was screaming, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" What changed?

The Christmas message clearly spells out the deity of Christ, but this is not just a theological issue with which to ponder. It is meant to jolt us out of our spiritual stupor (sleepiness) to obeying "Jesus Christ our LORD." If obedience in our daily lives is replaced by right theology, then the boat has sailed without us.
Jesus' teachings have continued to be a source of great learning, debate and controversy. When he taught people were both amazed and intrigued by the authority with which he spoke. Listen to his words as he speak of life and hope into your life.
Jesus' Passion Through the Eyes of John_Resurrection WitnessesStephen Palm
This Easter Sermon is part of the series: Jesus' Passion Through the Eyes of John. In this sermon we focus on some of the unique elements that John brings forward, such as the Foot Race between Peter and John as they raced towards the empty tomb. We also consider how the use of female witnesses in a Jewish world that deemed them to be unreliable actually adds credence to the authenticity of the gospel accounts.

Every genuine cry for revival is really a cry for God's glory to be revealed, a desperation for the glory of God to be seen upon His people. And this is the very same thing God desires, for His glory to be seen upon His people. This message explores characteristics of God's manifested glory.

Do you believe that Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead? The Bible gives testimony that Jesus predicted both his death and resurrection. We have good reason to believe.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ changed the lives of those who believed on Him. To those who hurt, who sorrow, who fear and to those who doubt the fact of Jesus' resurrection irrevocably, eternally changed them. He still changes lives today. He can change yours also.

What is death? What is life? Why is it true that we cannot truly live until we accept our mortality? How did the resurrection of Jesus Christ forever defeat death? Who is Jesus Christ and how was He able to accomplish what no other person in the history of man accomplished? What will happen to you when you die?

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Renewed in Grace
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

We have set aside a day we
call "Good Friday" to
remember the death and
burial of Jesus Christ, the
Son of God.
We remember because it is only by His Shed
Blood that men and women can be saved from sin
and from hell and receive eternal life with God.
2. But our greatest joy is that Jesus did not stay
in the grave, but was raised from the dead in
the Power of God's Holy Spirit.
2
John 20 1 The first day of the
week cometh Mary Magda-
lene early, when it was yet
dark, unto the sepulcher, and
seeth the stone taken away
from the sepulcher.
3. 2 Then she runneth, and
cometh to Simon Peter, and
to the other disciple (John),
whom Jesus loved, and
saith unto them, They have
taken away the Lord out of
the sepulcher, and we know
not where they have laid
Him. 3 Peter therefore went
forth, and that other
disciple, and came to the
sepulcher.
3
4. 4 So they ran both together: and the
other disciple did outrun Peter, and
came first to the sepulcher. 5 And he
stooping down, and looking in, saw
the linen clothes lying; yet went he
not in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter
following him, and went into the
sepulcher, and seeth the linen clothes
lie, 7 And the napkin, that was about
his head, not lying with the linen
clothes, but wrapped together in a
place by itself.
4
5. 8 Then went in also that other
disciple, which came first to
the sepulcher, and he saw,
and believed. 9 For as yet
they knew (understood) not
the Scripture, that He must
rise again from the dead.
10 Then the disciples went
away again unto their own
home.
5
John remembered
Jesus' Words, that
He would be raised
from the dead.
6. 11 But Mary stood without at the
sepulcher weeping: and as she wept,
she stooped down, and looked into
the sepulchre, 12 And seeth two
angels in white sitting, the one at
the head, and the other at the feet,
where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 And they say unto her, Woman,
why weepest thou? She saith unto
them, Because they have taken
away my Lord, and I know not
where they have laid Him.
6
Mary didn't go
home; she
didn't go about
her business.
She waited;
faithful.
7. 14 And when she had thus said,
she turned herself back, and saw
Jesus standing, and knew not
that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith
unto her, Woman, why weepest
thou? whom seekest thou? She,
supposing Him to be the
gardener, saith unto Him, Sir, if
Thou have borne Him hence,
tell me where Thou hast laid
Him, and I will take Him away.
7
8. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary.
She turned herself, and saith
unto him, Rabboni; which is
to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith
unto her, Touch Me not; for I
am not yet ascended to My
Father: but go to My brethren,
and say unto them, I ascend
unto My Father, and your
Father; and to My God, and
your God.
8
Jesus had said, "My
sheep will hear My
Voice and follow
Me. John 10:27
9. 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that
she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken
these things unto her.
9
They did not believe until they saw Him
for themselves. Luke 24:11
Luke 24 11 And their (the women’s) words seemed
to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
10. John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the
first day of the week, when the doors were shut
where the disciples were assembled for fear of the
Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith
unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when He had
so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His
side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw
the Lord.
10
11. 21 Then said Jesus to them
again, Peace be unto you: as
My Father hath sent Me, even
so send I you. 22 And when He
had said this, He breathed on
them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit,
they are remitted unto them;
and whose soever sins ye
retain, they are retained.
11
Only God can forgive
sins, but we can
pronounce forgiveness,
upon their faith in Jesus.
12. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus,
was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other
disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the
Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in
His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger
into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into
His side, I will not believe.
12
He just wanted what they already had.
Why didn't Thomas see when the others saw?
He was not with them that Sunday night.
13. 26 And after eight days again
His disciples were within, and
Thomas with them: then came
Jesus, the doors being shut, and
stood in the midst, and said,
Peace be unto you. 27 Then
saith He to Thomas, Reach
hither thy finger, and behold
My hands; and reach hither thy
hand, and thrust it into My side:
and be not faithless, but
believing.
13
They counted the
current day and the
last day; it was
Sunday again.
14. 28 And Thomas answered
and said unto Him, My
Lord and my God. 29 Jesus
saith unto him, Thomas,
because thou hast seen Me,
thou hast believed: blessed
are they that have not seen,
and yet have believed.
14
Faith honors God, and God honors faith
with blessing.
15. 30 And many other signs
truly did Jesus in the
presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this
book: 31 But these are
written, that ye might
believe that Jesus is the
Christ, the Son of God; and
that believing ye might have
life through His Name.
15
16. Every person must acknowledge
that he is a sinner,
without hope of eternal life.
16
He must realize and believe that
he needs a Savior.
He can't pay for his own sins, but
Jesus paid the debt for him.
Jesus died in our place, for our sins, so that we
may have eternal life through His Name.
17. The Shed Blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing
that will wash away our sins.
17
If you believe the Truth, the Gospel of Jesus
Christ: that Jesus is the Holy Son of God;
If you believe that He came to this earth, born
of a virgin, to live as a man, yet without sin;
If you believe that He gave His life, shedding
His Blood for you;
18. All that remains for you to do is to ask.
18
Pray a prayer something like this:
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the
Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
I want to be born of Your Spirit into Your family.
I ask You to forgive me of my sins, washing them
away in the Blood of Jesus.
Lord, be merciful to me a sinner and save me from
the bondage of sin and the torments of hell.
I thank You Lord for my salvation. Amen.
19. If you sincerely prayed that prayer,
You are a born again child of the Living God.
Your sins are forgiven; you are cleansed.
19
Your testimony can be as simple as:
"I love the Lord and thank God for saving me."
