Psalm 37 discusses the righteous, the Lord, and the wicked. It states that the righteous must trust in and commit their ways to the Lord. The Lord in turn promises to uphold the righteous, bring their righteousness to light, and not forsake them. In contrast, the wicked plot against the righteous but will be cut off, as the Lord sees their day of judgment coming and their plans will fail. The fate of the wicked is to perish, but the righteous will inherit the land forever.

The document discusses how Abraham and David were considered righteous by God because of their faith, not their works. It provides examples from Genesis of how Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness before he was circumcised. Likewise, David was forgiven of his sins and considered righteous based on faith alone rather than works. The document emphasizes that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ as a gift from God, and not by works or deeds, so that no one can boast.

The document provides commentary on Isaiah 57 from five scholars. It summarizes that the righteous and devout were being killed during the corrupt reign of King Manasseh when Isaiah was prophesying. While good people were dying, most of the people did not care and did not consider why this was happening. The righteous were being taken away by God to spare them from the coming evils and judgments that would befall the nation as punishment for their sins.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive function. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
1. Imagine yourself appearing before God. What will you do? …say? …feel? What would you change if you knew your appearance before God was today? How does your relationship with God now affect your appointment before Him eventually?
God removed Noah and Lot from the impending destruction of the ancient world through floods and fire. The Bible indicates God will similarly remove believers before pouring out his judgment on the earth during the future "Day of the Lord." Three key events are described: 1) the rapture, when Jesus will return secretly to gather believers alive at his coming; 2) the revealing of the Antichrist during the ensuing 7-year tribulation; 3) the visible return of Christ to defeat the Antichrist at the end of the tribulation, introducing the final judgment and eternal state.
This document provides an introduction to the first section of the book, which focuses on the doctrine of justification by faith. The introduction explains that justification by faith is the central doctrine of Christianity and the "hinge" on which evangelism of children turns. It emphasizes the importance of children's workers having a thorough understanding of this doctrine so they can apply it consistently in their own lives and ministries. The section will examine justification by faith through a series of chapters covering topics like the meaning of justification, the righteousness of God, the source of justification, and teaching justification to children.
This document outlines the concept of holiness as it relates to God, Jesus, Adam and Eve pre-fall, non-believers, believers on earth, and believers in heaven. It describes holiness as an event, process, quality, and state or condition. Key points include: God is perfectly holy; Adam and Eve were holy but able to sin pre-fall; non-believers are unable to stop sinning; believers on earth have the Holy Spirit but still struggle with sin; and believers in heaven will be perfectly holy like God.

Grief is commonly viewed as a natural response to loss, rather than a disease state. However, the author argues that grief fulfills the criteria of a disease - it involves suffering, impairment of functioning, has a consistent etiological factor (loss of an object), and follows a predictable course. Viewing grief as a disease would open up important implications for medical research and practice, such as studying grief using scientific tools and examining its potential role in other illness. This perspective recognizes significant life stressors and central nervous system processes as important to health.
Songs Of The Righteous Spirit Men Of High Purpose ShishiMasa Nakata
This document provides an overview of "men of high purpose" (shishi) in mid-19th century Japan and their tradition of composing Chinese poetry (kanshi). It discusses how shishi emerged as nationalist figures committed to imperial causes. Many shishi bonded through their shared practice of writing kanshi, which allowed them to situate themselves within the epistemic traditions of Chinese statesmen and draw connections to one another. Over time, shishi poetry became more self-referential and focused on contemporary Japanese issues. The production of kanshi thus served to both articulate shishi identity and foster connections among them.
This document provides encouragement for people who feel that God cannot use them by listing biblical figures who had perceived flaws or difficulties but were still used by God. It notes that Noah was a drunk, Abraham was too old, Jacob was a liar, etc. and that Jesus helped them all. It concludes by saying God can use people to their full potential regardless of messages and encourages living simply, loving generously, and caring deeply while leaving the rest to God.
This document discusses the relationship between faith and works in Christianity. It argues that true faith is demonstrated through works, and that we will be judged based on our deeds, not just our beliefs. Over several sections, it makes the case that: 1) Faith without works is dead; 2) Christians cannot separate their faith from their works; 3) Works are involved in our salvation process; and 4) We will be judged according to our deeds, not just our claimed faith. The overall message is that true saving faith in Christianity necessarily involves righteous actions and obedience to God's commands.
Before the final judgment, Satan will be imprisoned after making one last attempt to deceive humanity. On judgment day, Jesus Christ will judge all people - both believers and non-believers - for their actions based on the records in God's books. Those whose names are written in the book of life will go to heaven, while all others will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment.

The Spirit of Holiness & The Sanctification of Man Part 1: The Spirit of Jesus Christ
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. (Romans 1:4)
Our salvation and Sanctification are from the gift of Christ and all gifts of Christ are communicated to us and given to us by the Spirit of Christ – The Holy Spirit.
IT IS ALL ABOUT THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN HEART OF MANKIND BASED ON THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS AT CALVARY & ITS BENEFITS FOR MANKIND
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." (John 15:5).
All communications of supplies and relief, in the beginnings, increases, actions of any grace whatsoever, from Jesus Christ, are by The Holy Spirit, by whom He alone works in and upon us (believers).
FROM HIM WE HAVE OUR SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION
Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:31)
THEREFORE BEING BY THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD EXALTED, AND HAVING RECEIVED OF THE FATHER THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY GHOST, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (Acts 2:33)
141102 eng what do you do series (part 1) - ps. timothy loheaglepointcf
The document is a devotion on Psalm 37 that discusses what to do when you don't know what to do. It provides context that Psalm 37 was written by David in his old age to capture life's difficulties and tensions. The Psalm prescribes delighting in the Lord, trusting and committing to Him, resting and waiting on Him, forsaking anger and wrath, and not fretting. David found triumph by heeding God's voice, worshipping despite hardships, and drawing strength from God's word. The Psalm promises that those who trust in God will inherit the land, have peace, be satisfied, have God order their steps, and be upheld, filled with wisdom and not slip.
The document discusses the virtue of patience. It begins by telling believers to be patient until the Lord's return, using the example of farmers patiently waiting for their crops. It then urges believers to be patient and steadfast. It mentions not complaining against one another and references prophets and Job as examples of perseverance. It closes by instructing believers to simply say "yes" or "no" and avoid swearing to uphold integrity.
141130 eng what do you do series (part 5 - do not be angry) by jonathan bala...eaglepointcf
The document discusses dealing with anger and wickedness based on Psalm 37. It provides guidance on trusting God's timing when faced with evildoers, remembering that God has forgiven our sins through Jesus Christ, and expressing our anger to God rather than acting in anger ourselves. The Psalm advises ceasing from anger and forsaking wrath. While anger is a natural human response, it does not produce righteousness and can be harmful if not properly addressed.
141116 eng what do you do series (part 3 - rest) - ps. timothy loheaglepointcf
This document discusses finding rest when facing uncertainty or difficult situations in life. It begins by noting that life often involves "don't know what to do" moments where one may feel anxious, helpless, lost, or stretched. It then summarizes Psalm 37, noting that it was written by David in old age to reflect on his journey from shepherd boy to king to fugitive, and periods of godliness and betrayal. Finally, the document suggests ways to rest based on Psalm 37, including delighting in God, committing one's way to him, waiting, and not fretting, as well as how resting is supported throughout the Bible from the principle of Sabbath to Jesus' invitation to find rest in him.
The document discusses wanting something better and fretting about what others have. It advises not fretting because it is spiritually and emotionally harmful. It can damage one's relationship with God by making them question God's fairness or concern for them. The document also provides reasons one should not fret, such as the wicked being destroyed by God while the righteous will inherit the land. It encourages trusting, delighting, and committing one's ways to God instead of fretting.
1. The document is a message about having faith and taking action. It encourages moving beyond just believing to demonstrating trust in God through diligent work and good habits.
2. It references biblical passages about having faith like Abraham, Isaac, and Psalms 20. But notes faith without works is dead.
3. The message exhorts having a plan, facing challenges one day at a time, keeping the right friends, changing bad habits, and working hard to "fly" and achieve God-given destiny.
This document discusses themes of wickedness, righteousness, faith, and God's grace. It contrasts the temporary prosperity of the wicked with the eternal salvation of those who turn to God. It encourages putting one's trust in God rather than taking revenge, as God will ultimately judge the wicked and vindicate the righteous. Several Bible passages are referenced to support living peacefully and righteously despite injustices in the world, with the promise that God provides refuge and will heal those who trust in him.
Genesis 18 teaches about hospitality, the importance of reading further context, God's omnipotence, fatherhood responsibilities, God's omniscience, and God's justice. The passage discusses Abraham offering hospitality to strangers, understanding different types of laughter by reading additional context, God's ability to do anything, Abraham as a father commanding his household, God's knowledge of all thoughts and deeds, and that God will rightly judge sin.
Genesis 18 teaches about hospitality, the importance of reading further context, God's omnipotence, fatherhood responsibilities, God's omniscience, and God's justice. The passage discusses Abraham offering hospitality to strangers, understanding different types of laughter by reading additional context, nothing being too hard for God, fathers teaching their household, God knowing people's thoughts and deeds, and God doing what is right as judge of all the earth.
The document discusses the biblical story of God's covenant with Abraham. It summarizes key events like God calling Abraham to leave his home and promising to make him a great nation, Abraham demonstrating his faith in God by being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, and God sealing the covenant by passing between divided animal sacrifices alone while Abraham watched. The document argues that this covenant foreshadows God's ultimate sealing of the new covenant through Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross.
This document summarizes key points from Psalm 37 about the different outcomes of the righteous and wicked based on their attitudes. It contrasts attitudes of anger and envy with attitudes of trust, delight, commitment, rest and waiting. The righteous who maintain positive attitudes will inherit the land and find peace, while the wicked who remain angry and bitter will perish quickly. Even if the righteous fall, God upholds them, so by changing negative attitudes and living righteously, one can overcome any past failures and find lasting security. In the end, the righteous will know peace while the wicked face destruction.

James struggled for years trying to change through the Catholic Church but found no lasting change. He began reading the Bible on his own and attending a Methodist church where he heard the Gospel message. This led him to accept Jesus Christ as his savior, realizing his salvation was an event not a process. He was married in the Methodist church and has since pursued Bible study and serving God.
James struggled for years trying to change through the Catholic Church but kept sinning. He began reading the Bible on his own and attending a Methodist church, where he heard the Gospel message and began to understand salvation. Though he didn't have a clear moment of conversion, Marianna's testimony helped him realize it likely occurred in 1977-1978 at a Christian dinner. James now understands salvation is an event, not a process, and he has grown in his faith since that time.

Who Are We?
Where Have We Come From?
Why Are We Here?
Where Are We Going To?
A Generation!
A Heritage!
A Purpose!
A Destiny!
Do you ever think about why some people are leaders, whether in high offices such as governors of states, mayors of cities, or executives in large corporations? What about people that are leaders of organizations closer to your local community, like leaders in your church, coaches of sports teams, or leaders in your neighborhood. What about yourself? Are you in a particular position of leadership or have you felt that you should be in a certain position of leadership?
Maybe you haven’t asked these questions. Maybe you have just been living out your life, doing what you think you are supposed to be doing, and not really wondering why you are involved in what you are doing and where you are doing it.
INTRODUCTION
This morning, Friday, May 17, 2019, I was moved to think about my cousin Davie McLaughlin who passed away in December 2004. In recalling memories of Davie and I, I was filled with the happiness of what we had as kids doing things together and what we shared as adults.
Dave passed away as a result of a brain tumor. I was invited by his mother (my Aunt Vi) and his sisters (Kathi and Dori) to prepare the memorial service and speak at the service, along with their pastor. I did so. I visited and talked with the family about Dave and the service. I prepared the order of service and the bulletin. I prepared and gave a message titled, “Davie Took Me Places”. I chose topic because, mostly as kids and then into adulthood, that’s what Davie did. He took me places I would have never thought of or known to go to without him. Our experiences were fun and memorable.
In this writing, I want to share with you the happening that inspired me to write this document and many things that were included in the Memorial Service.
Our 50th High School Reunion for Bishop McDevitt's Class of 1967 was a SMASH HIT. The accolades are OVER THE TOP. We received many great comments and congrats on the entire weekend. Facebook was lit up before and after the reunion weekend. Our gatherings after the reunion have a new energy and appreciation for one another.
Have you ever looked for that certain job, opportunity, house, or car that was going to be exactly what you wanted, that was going to be the place where you wanted to be, that was going to provide the money and the satisfaction that you were looking for? Sure you have! Don't be shy. Admit it. I have. As a matter of fact, today, I discovered a job that I have been searching for, searching for a long time. Let me tell you about it.
YOUnited States of America - Understanding The Bill of RightsJAMES EUGENE BARBUSH
This document contains a transcript of a message by Andy Stanley titled "YOUnited States of America" discussing the Bill of Rights. Stanley summarizes the first 10 amendments of the Bill of Rights and explains that the founding fathers assumed a level of moral responsibility among citizens that would govern the exercise of individual rights, as there is no explicit "Bill of Responsibility." He highlights three assumptions of the founders: a consensus of conscience on right and wrong, a consensus around divine accountability, and concern for other individuals when exercising individual rights.

THE BATTLE THAT RAGES FOR YOUR MIND
WAKE UP WARNING 2019

"I want to talk to you this morning about THE BATTLE THAT RAGES FOR YOUR MIND. And you have to be aware that Satan is coming against this generation in an unprecedented measure.
He is attacking this generation to take the thoughts of God out of the minds of an entire society.
He's doing it through the school system.
He's doing it in our colleges.
He's doing it in the marketplace.
He's doing it in the halls of government.
And he's even doing it in the house of God.
Trying to eradicate everything that comes from the mind of God, to blind an entire generation, to take captives, as many as he can, for the scripture says, he knows that his time is short.
In the Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, verses 5 to 16, Jesus provides us with His instructions on prayer. In those verses, Jesus says 3 times, “When you pray”. Thus, prayer is not an option. It is a requirement, a commandment. Jesus tells us what to do and what not to do when we pray. He starts and ends with what we are not to do, and between those, He tell us what to do. And after that, He tells us that our Father knows what we need.
This document summarizes the 50th high school reunion for the Bishop McDevitt High School Class of 1967 held from September 22-24, 2017. It provides an introduction, recognizes the reunion committee members Sue Camplese Herman and Gary Herman for their efforts in planning reunions over the past 50 years. It then outlines the various events that were held for the reunion weekend including a golf outing, football game, dinner, mass and brunch. The document captures memories and photos from the events.
Introduction: The Purpose of This Document
The mission has been placed before Christians by Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the head of the church, “Go and make disciples”. In doing that, the Christian witness is challenged in many ways. Most often, the challenges come with rebuke, name calling, and other non-sense, especially when trying to discuss political topics in the context of religion in the midst of the 2016 Presidential Election.
With less than one month to the election on November 8, 2016, social media, especially Facebook, is covered with information, some good information, but mostly bad information. Many of the posts are rude, meant to demean and ridicule, meant to say someone is stupid, bigoted, racist, or having a phobia of some kind. That often comes when discussing politics and carrying out The Great Commission. Often, there is no reasonable discussion or debate. It’s what I call, “A Hit and Run”, where someone forwards a picture with some rude words on it to attempt to make a point. When posting, the messenger has nothing to say in his own words. It’s just a shot at someone to say they disagree with a certain position or behavior.
In trying to present the Gospel, to witness The Good News to others, and with having seemingly little in positive results, I have wondered how Jesus would do it. I’ve considered that. At times, when Jesus was approached with a question that was intended to trap Him, He responded with a question that was intended to make a point without getting into the discussion. Sometimes, His question dissipated the ones asking the question. Sometimes, He explained the answer to the people or just His disciples.
I’ve often entered into discussions with people by putting out meaningful comments and basing them on truth. That approach may or may not result in good debate and discussion. Many times, I stay out of certain “attacks” because the messengers are not likely interested in meaningful discussion. They are only interested in jabbing someone with their point to disturb them. And they can do that in a post by hiding behind the social media platform without putting themselves in a face-to-face discussion.

THE WISDOM OF PRIDWEN 1967
“18 STATEMENTS” IN OUR YEARBOOK
To My Classmates,
Class of 1967 of Bishop McDevitt High School
In preparing for our 50th Class Reunion, we can go to our senior yearbook, Pridwen 1967, to look for what it said about our class; to see if there is something there that spoke to us from 1967. What is found turns out to be quite interesting and profound.
The purpose of a high school yearbook is to highlight all the students, all the faculty, all the special activities during the year, and special accomplishments of students, classes, and organizations. Pridwen 1967 does that.
As we page through Pridwen 1967, we can discover something else that can be understood to be quite unique and quite profound. In our search to discover something spoken by the Class of 1967, we found 18 statements distributed throughout the book.
In a review of those statements, we discover that the 18 statements seem to converge around one main theme of Pridwen 1967 – PEACE – PEACE on Earth and Peace in Individual Hearts. Here is how we can arrive at that conclusion.
1) God created the heavens and the earth over six days, forming the land and seas, plants and animals, and finally man and woman.
2) God placed the first man and woman in the Garden of Eden but warned them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
3) The serpent deceived the woman into eating the forbidden fruit, which she also gave to the man. As a result, God cursed the serpent and mankind, banishing them from the garden.

And this is the secret:
Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing His glory. God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ Himself. In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Psalm 37
The Lord….Will Not….Forsake….His Saints
A Psalm of David
English Standard Version (ESV)
Psalm 37, a Psalm of David. A friend of mine suggested that I read Psalm 37 because it
reminded him of a discussion we had about Matthew 6. In Matthew 6, we are told that things
will happen WHEN we give to the needy, WHEN we fast, WHEN we pray, and WHEN we
forgive. It says that things should be done in a certain way WHEN we do those things. It says
that things will happen as a result of doing those things.
At my friend’s suggestion, I read Psalm 37. When I read the scripture verses, I often notice
some patters in the writings. In Psalm 37, I found some patterns. They are these. Psalm 37 talks
about 3 types of things:
1. Psalm 37 talks about The Righteous. ......... It mentions things that The Righteous must do.
2. Psalm 37 talks about The Lord. ................. It mentions things that The Lord promises to do for
The Righteous.
3. Psalm 37 talks about The Wicked. ............. It mentions things that The Wicked do and what happens
to The Wicked.
VERSES AS WRITTEN: On pages 2, 3, and 4 of this document is presented Psalm 37, verses
1 to 40. On those pages, each verse is shaded according to the following legend:
LEGEND:
The Righteous What The Righteous Must Do.
The Lord What The Lord Promises To Us, The Righteous.
The Wicked What The Wicked Do and What Happens To The Wicked.
VERSES SORTED: On pages 5, 6, and 7 of this document is presented Psalm 37, but with the
verses sort according to the same legend above.
The Righteous All verses related to The Righteous are presented on Page 5.
The Lord All verses related to The Lord’s Promises are presented on Page 6.
The Wicked All verses related to The Wicked are presented on Page 7.
Nothing else need be said at this time. Just read the verses and see what The Righteous must do
to win the promises of The Lord, and what The Wicked will do and what the fate of The Wicked
is.

LEGEND
The Righteous What The Righteous Must Do
The Lord What The Lord Promises To Us, The Righteous
The wicked What The wicked Do and What Happens To The wicked
1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers;
Be not envious of wrongdoers!
2 For they will soon fade like the grass and
wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and
Do good;
Dwell in the land and
Befriend faithfulness.
4 Delight in the Lord,
and the Lord will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit to the Lord your way;
Trust in the Lord,
and the Lord will act.
6 the Lord will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and
your justice as the noonday.
7 Be still before the Lord and
Wait for the Lord patiently;
Fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
Fret not yourself over the man who carries out evil devices!
8 Refrain from anger, and
Forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
9 For the evildoers shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
10 In just a little while,
The wicked will be no more;
The wicked will not be there.
though you look carefully at The wicked’s place,
11 But
the meek shall inherit the land and
delight themselves in abundant peace.

12 The wicked plots against The Righteous and
gnashes his teeth at him,
13 but
the Lord laughs at The wicked, for
the Lord sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked draw the sword and
bend their bows to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose way is upright;
15 The wicked’s sword shall enter their own heart, and
The wicked’s bows shall be broken.
16 Better is the little of The Righteous
than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of The wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds The Righteous.
18 The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and
the heritage of the blameless will remain forever;
19 the blameless are not put to shame in the days of evil;
the blameless will have abundance in the days of famine.
20 But
The wicked will perish;
the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures;
the enemies of the Lord vanish, like smoke they vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows but
does not pay back, but
The Righteous is generous and gives;
22 for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land,
but those cursed by the Lord shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a man, when he delights in the Lord’s way
are established by the Lord;
24 though the man fall,
the man shall not be cast headlong,
for the Lord upholds his hand.
25 I have been young, and
now I am old,
yet I have not seen The Righteous forsaken or
his children begging for bread.
26 The Righteous is ever lending generously, and
his children become a blessing.

27 Turn from evil and
Do good; so shall you dwell forever.
28 For the Lord loves justice;
the Lord will not forsake His saints.
His saints are preserved forever, but
the children of The wicked shall be cut off.
29 The Righteous shall inherit the land and
dwell upon the land forever.
30 The mouth of The Righteous utters wisdom, and
The tongue of The Righteous speaks justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;
The steps of The Righteous do not slip.
32 The wicked watches for The Righteous and
seeks to put The Righteous to death.
33 The Lord will not abandon The Righteous to his power
will not let The Righteous be condemned when he is brought to trial.
34 Wait for the Lord and
keep the Lord’s way, and
the Lord will exalt you to inherit the land;
you will look on when The wicked are cut off.
35 I have seen a wicked, ruthless man, spreading himself like a green laurel tree.
36 But The wicked, ruthless man passed away, and
behold, The wicked, ruthless man was no more;
though I sought The wicked, ruthless man,
The wicked, ruthless man could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless and
Behold the upright,
for the man of peace has a future.
38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed
The wicked’s future shall be cut off.
39 The Salvation of The Righteous is from the Lord;
The Stronghold of The Righteous is the Lord in the time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps The Righteous and
delivers The Righteous;
The Lord delivers The Righteous from The wicked and
saves The Righteous, because
The Righteous take refuge in him.
