Thank God the Blessing Does
not Depend on Us

The 5 sacrifices in Leviticus were all pictures of Jesus
as our perfect sacrifice on the cross

The Sin and Trespass offering were brought to the
priest

The priest inspects the lamb, not the sinner

When you lay hands on the lamb, all your sins are
transferred to the lamb

In the Burnt Offering, the lambs righteousness is
transferred to you.

Today when you come to God, He doesn’t inspect
you

- He inspects the quality of the lamb

- Our Lamb was perfect!

Our blessings in life are equivalent to the quality of
the Lamb

Revelation 5:12 saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

Worthy is the Lamb! Not worthy is the Lamb plus
your obedience and self-effort.

Romans 4:4 What then shall we say that Abraham
our father has found according to the flesh? 2 For if
Abraham was justified by works, he has something to
boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does
the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it
was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to
him who works, the wages are not counted as grace
but as debt.

5 But to him who does not work but believes on
Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted
for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the
blessedness of the man to whom God imputes
righteousness apart from works:

7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are
forgiven,And whose sins are covered;

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not
impute sin.”

13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the
world was not to Abraham or to his seed through
the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is
made void and the promise made of no effect,
15 because the law brings about wrath; for where
there is no law there is no transgression.
16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according
to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the
seed,

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty
by which Christ has made us free, and do not be
entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I,
Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised,
Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again
to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a
debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become
estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be
justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working
through love. 7 You ran well.Who hindered you
from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion does not
come from Him who calls you. 9 A little leaven
leavens the whole lump…

 13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty;
only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the
flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For all
the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this:“You shall
love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite
and devour one another, beware lest you be
consumed by one another!

16 I say then:Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not
fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts
against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and
these are contrary to one another, so that you do
not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are
led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which
are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions,
heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries,
and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I
also told you in time past, that those who practice
such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control.Against such there is no
law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified
the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live
in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Our blessings are not dependent on us – our works,
self-effort, or obedience

It is dependent on the quality of our Lamb

When we know it is dependent on Jesus- the
promise becomes sure!

When we know it is not based on our obedience, it
does not lead to a sinful life. It produces fruit of the
Spirit!
I Corinthians 11:24

“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do
this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He
also took the cup after supper, saying,“This cup is the
new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink
it, in remembrance of Me.”

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup,
you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
