We’re Wrestling Who? - Ephesians 6:10-13David Turner
Our battles are not against flesh and blood. Our battles are against Principalities and Powers. These adversaries are much bigger than us and cannot be defeated by our own strength. In Ephesians 6:10-13 Paul identifies who we are really wrestling with and follows up with advice on how to compete to gain victory. For this and other PowerPoint Presentations go to www.Bibleguy.org.

Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.

Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

EVANGELISM 101: Lesson 1 - Biblical Foundations of EvangelismFrancis Hernandez
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
"It (Evangelism) comes from the same Greek word for gospel (euangelion) and means, literally, “gospeling.” When we evangelize we are “gospeling” — we are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." - https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/what-evangelism/
Every Christian is called to do the divine task of evangelism. Evangelism is a task not just for the select churches, or for the evangelists or pastors. This is Lesson 1 of EVANGELISM 101 Series. Given last April 23, 2021 at HOPE Christian Fellowship in Guinobatan, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines by Ptr. Francis S. Hernandez.

This sermon will focus on two key Pauline texts. In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 Paul gives us some general instructions in demolishing strongholds by using God's means. In Ephesians 2 he identifies 3 strongholds by name, the world, the flesh and the devil.
It's hard for most people to grasp the concept of being a slave. Most would deny that they are servants. But the reality is that we are all slaves/servants to something. If one is honest with himself He'll admit that he is in bondage to his job, to a location where he lives, to a bad marriage, to a sick and dying body and most of all to sin. Paul speaks in the context to the Roman empire where the majority of his listeners are servants. You may not be this kind of a servant, but the principles are still applicable to employees, students and even children. Jesus did not come to rule but to serve. We are to do the same.
How can we pray in faith (Mark 11:22-24) when we don’t know God’s sovereign will in advance? How long should we continue praying if God doesn’t seem to be answering? Is there a point at which we should give up? Where is the proper balance between prayer and proper methods? Does dependence on God in prayer mean that we should neglect effective methods?
Rooted and Grounded in Love - Ephesians 3:14-21David Turner
That God will empower us through his Spirit to comprehend His love so that we may be filled with His fullness.
Not that we love God more, but that we comprehend just how much God loves us.

That God will empower us through his Spirit to comprehend His love so that we may be filled with His fullness.
Not that we love God more, but that we comprehend just how much God loves us.

Wrestling In A Dark World John 15:18-16:4 and Ephesians 6:12-13David Turner
As believers in Jesus Christ we are fighting against the Principalities and Powers of this world. We cannot fight with the methods of the world. We must wrestle in the manner in which Christ wrestled, in the power of the Spirit.
Girt Your Loins In Truth - Ephesians 6:14aDavid Turner
Paul tells the Ephesian Christians to girt their loans in truth. One's loins is the center of one being. It is the place stability. In a world which runs on the current of popular opinion it's often difficult to discern truth. Is is found in science, or philosophy, or politicians or power. Real truth is found in Jesus Christ who proclaimed, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father accept through me." This is the truth that Paul encourages the Ephesians gird their loins with. It's the same truth we ought to hold tight to our core. Walk Wisely, be Filled - Ephesians 5:15-21David Turner
Believers are called Children of Light! But Children of Light must walk in the light and have wisdom to know that they can be drawn in to darkness. The Spirit is the guide that keeps us from darkness. Ephesians 5:15-21 warns Children of Light to depend on the Spirit and not be drawn back into the darkness they once walked. Visit www.BibleGuy.org for free PowerPoint Downloads of Ephesians.
As Children of God we should be partners with God and not with the sons of disobedience. We should not participate in the passions of the world but walk in manner worthy of our calling. Download free PowerPoint presentation of Ephesians at http://BibleGuy.org

Put On Righteousness - Ephesians 6:14bDavid Turner
We cannot clothe ourselves in our personal righteousness, because any righteousness we have in ourselves falls short of God's standard of righteousness. Instead, we must shield our hearts with the righteousness of Christ. We are declared righteous because of his righteousness, not because of anything in ourselves. For a free PowerPoint download of this presentation visit us at wwwBibleguy.org.
Christ Loves His Bride - Ephesians 5:21-33David Turner
The bride of God in the old testament was the nation of Israel. In the New Testament, Christ's bride is The Church. His has gone to prepare for the reception of bride and will someday comeback to consummate the marriage. Christ love for his church is the model set more a man's love for his wife. Paul shares insights of the comparisons of Christ love for his bride to encourage men to love their wives in the same manner.
Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.

Ephesians 1:3 says "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places..." But, what are these blessings and what does it mean?
What is a doxology? What are some of the doxologies recorded in the New Testament? After all the negative warnings against apostasy, how does Jude conclude his epistle? What is the basis of his positive prayer for the believer?
Jesus teaches a wonder parable about farming, soil, and the seed. The seed is the word of God the Gospel. In this lesson we will cover the value of the farmer and the seed.
Jesus would often times teach thorough parables. In this lesson we examine the teaching of the sower and soils. Both audio and slides can be viewed together at www.cmcoc.org
Sermon by: Brian Birdow
The most important thing to believe in is what Jesus Christ did for you. Without the sacrifice Jesus made, we would have no opportunity to have a relationship with God both now and in the afterlife.
A look at the first half of Ephesians 1, with a focus of God's calling in our lives. This calling should evoke a response of grateful appreciation and faithful action.
Everyone who would be saved from sin and from hell, and would go to Heaven when we die, must place all our faith in Jesus, as God's Son, the Chosen One who would die for the sins of men, and be raised from the dead in the Power of God.
Ephesians 3:14-21 God's blessings, He settled may largest debt - sacrifice, he satisfied my deepest need - forgiveness, he provided my greatest desire - guidance, he prepared my highest longing - heaven.
The second baptism that God has for His children is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is the 5th foundation stone in this teaching series. How does God display His power in your life? Which gift of the Holy Spirit have you received?

We are forgiven by God through Christ, therefore we ought to forgive others even as God has forgiven us. This is the heart of the Gospel. Growth in the spiritual life is often hindered because we often refuse to forgive others.
The Lord's Prayer was not taught to be repeated without thought as to what it means. It given by our Lord to teach us a model for prayer. In this presentation we will look at the components that make up a the way we ought to pray.
Are we trying to impress the world? Are we trying to impress others? Who are we trying to impress? Ultimately we can impress no one, not even God. But rewards are with God, not because we can impress him, but because he honors those that love him.
John 1:1 claims that all life is in Christ. He is the creator of life and he sustains all life. He is the author of physical life and spiritual life. Without him there is no life.
We call it the triumphal entry. Compared with the entry of other kings and generals it was modest. Compared to his future entry into Jerusalem all the kings entries of the past seem insignificant.
They Trusted In Something Greater Than ThemselvesDavid Turner
The founding fathers of our nation trusted in something greater than the Declaration of Independence. They trusted in the Bible and the God of the Bible. Our present leaders would do well to put their trust in the same God and the same Bible.
The greatest book of liberty is not a document or a declaration. The greatest book of liberty is the Bible. The bible presents the Gospel, the good news that sets me free.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. The Father Selected Us (vs. 4-6)
• He chose us before the foundation of the world
• To be holy and blameless
• He predestined us to be his adopted children
The Son Saved Us (vs. 7-12)
• Purchased
• Forgiven
The Spirit Sealed Us (vs. 13-14)

3. The Blessing:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly
places,
4. The Father Selected Us:
4 even as he chose us in him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be
holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he
predestined us for adoption as sons through
Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his
will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with
which he has blessed us in the Beloved
5. The Son Saved Us:
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches
of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom
and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his
will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in
Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all
things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been
predestined according to the purpose of him who
works all things according to the counsel of his will,
12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might
be to the praise of his glory.
6. The Spirit Sealed Us:
13 In him you also, when you heard the word
of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and
believed in him, were sealed with the
promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee
of our inheritance until we acquire
possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
7. 3 Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who has
blessed us in Christ with
every spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places,
Blessed be to God
• By praising Him for
what he has done.
• By showing grace to
others
His blessings to us:
• When? Aorist tense
“Has blessed us”
• How? “Every Spiritual
Blessing”
• Where? “heavenly
places”
8. 4 even as he chose us in
him before the
foundation of the world,
that we should be holy
and blameless before
him. In love
The Father Chose us
• When? before the
foundation of the world
• Why? So we may be
holy and blameless
before the Father, in
love
9. 5 he predestined us for
adoption as sons
through Jesus Christ,
according to the
purpose of his will, 6 to
the praise of his
glorious grace, with
which he has blessed
us in the Beloved
He predestined
(foreordained,
predetermined) us
• Why? Motive
For us: To be adopted
children
For Him: To the praise of
his glorious grace
• How?
Through Jesus Christ
• According to the
purpose of his will
10. Acts 4:25–28 25 who through the mouth of our
father David, your servant, said by the Holy
Spirit, “ ‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the
peoples plot in vain? 26 The kings of the earth
set themselves, and the rulers were gathered
together, against the Lord and against his
Anointed’— 27 for truly in this city there were
gathered together against your holy servant
Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and
Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the
peoples of Israel, 28 to do whatever your hand
and your plan had predestined to take place.
11. Romans 8:29–30 29 For those whom he
foreknew he also predestined to be
conformed to the image of his Son, in order
that he might be the firstborn among many
brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined
he also called, and those whom he called he
also justified, and those whom he justified he
also glorified.
He Foreknew them He Predestined them
He called them He justified them He
glorified them.
12. Acts 13:46–48 46 And Paul and Barnabas spoke out
boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of
God be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it
aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal
life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. 47 For
so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “ ‘I have
made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may
bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” 48 And
when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing
and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many
as were appointed to eternal life believed.
13. It is God “who has blessed” (verse 3),
chosen (verse 4),
“predestined,” “freely bestowed” (verse 5),
lavished redemption and forgiveness (verses
7–8), “made known” and “purposed” (verse
9),
given an inheritance, working everything
according to His will (verse 11),
sealed (verse 13),
and given the Holy Spirit (verse 14).
Therefore, it will be His glory that is praised (vv.
6, 12 and 14).
14. “Only two times in the entire doxology does
Paul clearly refer to a necessary human
activity. In verse thirteen, he declares the two
pre-conditions of the Holy Spirit’s sealing:
hearing and believing, both of which are also
dependent on divine activity.”
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and
believed in him, were sealed with the
promised Holy Spirit,
15. Ephesians 2:4–5 4 But God, being rich in mercy,
because of the great love with which he loved
us, 5 even when we were dead in our
trespasses, made us alive together with
Christ—by grace you have been saved—
Ephesians 2:8–9 8 For by grace you have been
saved through faith. And this is not your own
doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of
works, so that no one may boast.
18. “An ocean liner leaves New York bound for Liverpool. Its
destination has been determined by proper authorities.
Nothing can change it. This is at least a faint picture of
sovereignty. “On board the liner are scores of passengers.
These are not in chains, neither are their activities determined
for them by decree. They are completely free to move about
as they will. They eat, sleep, play, lounge about on the deck,
read, talk, altogether as they please; but all the while the great
liner is carrying them steadily onward toward a predetermined
port. “Both freedom and sovereignty are present here, and
they do not contradict. So it is, I believe, with man’s freedom
and the sovereignty of God. The mighty liner of God’s
sovereign design keeps its steady course over the sea of
history.”

19. Many people want to know their election before they look to
Christ. But they cannot learn it thus; it is only to be discovered
by ‘looking unto Jesus.’ Look to Jesus, believe on Him, and
you shall make proof of your election directly, for as surely as
you believe, you are elect. If you will give yourself wholly up to
Christ and trust Him, then you are one of God’s chosen ones.
Go to Jesus just as you are. Go straight to Christ, hide in His
wounds, and you shall know your election.
Christ was at the everlasting council. He can tell you whether
you were chosen or not, but you cannot find out in any other
way. Go and put your trust in Him. There will be no doubt
about His having chosen you, when you have chosen Him. -
Charles Spurgeon
20. John 1:11–13 11 He came to his own, and his
own people did not receive him. 12 But to all
who did receive him, who believed in his
name, he gave the right to become children
of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of
the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but
of God.
21. Those who are elect do follow Christ:
• John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow Me.”
Those who perish do so because they did
not receive the truth:
• II Thessalonians 2:10 “and with all the deception
of wickedness for those who perish, because they
did not receive the love of the truth so as to be
saved.”
22. God’s choice does not eliminate the need
for man’s exercise of faith:
• II Thessalonians 2:10 “But we should always give
thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the
Lord, because God has chosen you from the
beginning for salvation through sanctification by
the Spirit and faith in the truth.
• I Timothy 6:12: “Fight the good fight of faith; take
hold of the eternal life to which you were called,
and you made the good confession in the
presence of many witnesses.”
23. God’s choice does not eliminate man’s need
to teach the truth:
• II Timothy 2:24-5 “And the Lord’s bond-servant must
not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach,
patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting
those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant
them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
and they may come to their senses and escape from
the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him
to do his will.”
• Charles Spurgeon
24. John 3:16–18 16 “For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only Son, that whoever
believes in him should not perish but have
eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into
the world to condemn the world, but in order
that the world might be saved through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe is condemned
already, because he has not believed in the
name of the only Son of God.
25. … That you have been chosen from the
foundation of the world?
… That you have been predestined to be a
child of God?
Believe that Jesus is the only begotten son of
God. Believe that you are a sinner. Believe
that he died for your sins. Believe he rose
from the dead and sits beside the Father
interceding in your behalf.
Receive Him. Believe in Him.
