The Father chose us, the Son saved us and the Spirit has sealed us. We are guaranteed an inheritance that is greater than any that our natural parents could ever offer us. Free PowerPoint Download at http://BibleGuy.org
When the Lord gave us His Spirit, He gave us fully and without reserve, If you are a believer in The Lord Jesus Christ, you have it as it is your right and inheritance.
Not unlike the effects of today’s Coronavirus, the older generation of Israel in the wilderness were dying. Numbers 20 begins with the death of Miriam (1) and concludes with the death of Aaron (28, 29). If you were to die today, what legacy would you leave? When was the last time you murmured or complained about something associated with COVID-19? What was your complaint? How did your criticism or complaint change you, your relationship with God and those around you? Why did the Lord send “fiery serpents among the people” (21:6)? What was Moses’ response when he heard their complaints and saw God’s judgment? (7) How should we be like Moses? What was the Lord’s response? (8) Why did Jesus compare Himself to Moses’ brazen serpent? (John 3:14-16) Why do many (sadly most) people refuse to look and live? (8)

As believers in Jesus Christ we are fighting against the Principalities and Powers of this world. We cannot fight with the methods of the world. We must wrestle in the manner in which Christ wrestled, in the power of the Spirit.

Girt Your Loins In Truth - Ephesians 6:14aDavid Turner
Paul tells the Ephesian Christians to girt their loans in truth. One's loins is the center of one being. It is the place stability. In a world which runs on the current of popular opinion it's often difficult to discern truth. Is is found in science, or philosophy, or politicians or power. Real truth is found in Jesus Christ who proclaimed, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father accept through me." This is the truth that Paul encourages the Ephesians gird their loins with. It's the same truth we ought to hold tight to our core. Rooted and Grounded in Love - Ephesians 3:14-21David Turner

Not that we love God more, but that we comprehend just how much God loves us.
The World seeks wealth through possessions, power, and friendships. A Christian's wealth is in his/her relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Free PowerPoint Download at http://BibleGuy.org
It's hard for most people to grasp the concept of being a slave. Most would deny that they are servants. But the reality is that we are all slaves/servants to something. If one is honest with himself He'll admit that he is in bondage to his job, to a location where he lives, to a bad marriage, to a sick and dying body and most of all to sin. Paul speaks in the context to the Roman empire where the majority of his listeners are servants. You may not be this kind of a servant, but the principles are still applicable to employees, students and even children. Jesus did not come to rule but to serve. We are to do the same.

Are we trying to impress the world? Are we trying to impress others? Who are we trying to impress? Ultimately we can impress no one, not even God. But rewards are with God, not because we can impress him, but because he honors those that love him.
John 1:1 claims that all life is in Christ. He is the creator of life and he sustains all life. He is the author of physical life and spiritual life. Without him there is no life.
We call it the triumphal entry. Compared with the entry of other kings and generals it was modest. Compared to his future entry into Jerusalem all the kings entries of the past seem insignificant.
They Trusted In Something Greater Than ThemselvesDavid Turner
The founding fathers of our nation trusted in something greater than the Declaration of Independence. They trusted in the Bible and the God of the Bible. Our present leaders would do well to put their trust in the same God and the same Bible.
The greatest book of liberty is not a document or a declaration. The greatest book of liberty is the Bible. The bible presents the Gospel, the good news that sets me free.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

• The Father Selected Us (1:3-6)
– Before the foundation of the world
– With every spiritual blessing in heavenly places
• The Son Saved Us (1:7-10)
– Redeemed (purchased) Us
– Forgiven Us
• The Holy Spirit Is Our Seal (1:11-14)
5. Ephesians 1:11–14 (ESV)
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
6. Our Inheritance is “In Christ”

8. Our inheritance was secured in
advance
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of

9. Our inheritance is assured by hope in
Christ
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
10. No Assurance under Law
• Rabban Jochanan ben Zakkai, the contemporary
of the apostles, wept when his pupils came to his
death-bed to receive a final blessing from their
dying master. When asked why he wept, he
answered: “There are two ways before me, the
one to the Garden of Eden, the other to
Gehinnom, and I do not know on which they lead
me—how can I help weeping?” This is said by the
very man whom his disciples described as the
“lamp of Israel” and the “strong hammer.”John 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father.
There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have
set your hope.
11. 11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
12. Sealed When We Believed
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
13. The Spirit is your Guarantee (earnest)
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
14. There Is More To Come
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
15. It’s a promise we can be sure of
2 Corinthians 1:20–22 20 For all the promises of
God find their Yes in him. That is why it is
through him that we utter our Amen to God for
his glory. 21 And it is God who establishes us with
you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who
has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit
in our hearts as a guarantee.
16. Inheritance includes a transformation
of our bodies
Romans 8:22–23 22 For we know that the whole
creation has been groaning together in the pains
of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the
creation, but we ourselves, who have the
firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait
eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of
our bodies.
17. The presence of the Spirit is a down
payment for the changed body
2 Corinthians 5:2–5 2 For in this tent we groan,
longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, 3 if
indeed by putting it on we may not be found
naked. 4 For while we are still in this tent, we
groan, being burdened—not that we would be
unclothed, but that we would be further
clothed, so that what is mortal may be
swallowed up by life. 5 He who has prepared us
for this very thing is God, who has given us the
Spirit as a guarantee.
18. We can grieve Him,
but He won’t leave us.
Ephesians 4:29–30 29 Let no corrupting talk
come out of your mouths, but only such as is
good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it
may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not
grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were
sealed for the day of redemption.
20. Our Inheritance is Imperishable
1 Peter 1:3–5 3 Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great
mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a
living hope through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is
imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in
heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being
guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be
revealed in the last time.
21. It Can’t be taken away
Romans 8:33–39 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect?
It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the
one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the
right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it
is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we
are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things
we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am
sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things
present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from
the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
22. Why Do We Receive It?
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
23. Our Part in the Inheritance?
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to the purpose of
him who works all things according to the counsel
of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to
hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed
in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until
we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his
glory.
