Jehoshaphat was king of Judah for 25 years and largely followed the righteous ways of his father, King Asa. However, he did not fully remove the pagan high places from the land. Jehoshaphat formed an alliance with King Ahab of Israel through marriage but refused a full partnership that would have angered God. Upon his death, Jehoshaphat was buried in Jerusalem and succeeded by his son, King Jehoram.
