The document discusses the relationship between the universal/invisible body of Christ and the local church. It argues that some pastors focus too much on promoting a perfect local church or Bible instead of balancing both. The document urges magnifying a perfect Bible to build a proper church and focusing on absolute truth found in Christ over being a "good person". It also discusses the Holy Spirit's role in sealing believers, testifying of Christ, and guiding believers into truth.
The document is a Sunday school lesson discussing the righteousness of Christ that comes through faith. It makes three key points:
1) Imputed righteousness refers to God crediting believers with Christ's righteousness when they trust in Him for salvation. This is done without our participation.
2) Imparted righteousness refers to God empowering believers from within through faith to live righteously. This is done in us with our participation in the sanctification process.
3) Both imputed and imparted righteousness are necessary - we are declared righteous through imputation and transformed from within through impartation as we cooperate with the Holy Spirit.
The document contains announcements for various church events as well as a Sunday school lesson on righteousness. The lesson discusses the difference between imputed righteousness, which is credited to believers based on faith alone, and imparted righteousness, which is an ongoing process of sanctification through participation in spiritual growth. Imputed righteousness occurs when one first believes, while imparted righteousness refers to becoming more righteous over time by allowing Christ to transform one's soul.
The document is a summary of a sermon discussing the difference between imputed and imparted righteousness. It explains that imputed righteousness refers to God crediting believers with Christ's righteousness based on faith alone at salvation. Imparted righteousness refers to the righteous nature implanted within believers by the Holy Spirit that transforms them from within through sanctification. Both are necessary - one is declared, the other is developed through cooperation with the Spirit.
This document provides scripture passages and summaries related to the topic of faith alone or sola fide. It begins with passages that describe faith or belief in God/Jesus leading to salvation, victory over sin, and eternal life. It then discusses obstacles, tests, weaknesses of faith and warnings against unbelief. Next it outlines aids to strengthening faith such as God's promises and works, the Bible, and asking God for wisdom. Finally it presents defenses of faith and admonitions to have courageous faith in God. The overall document examines faith from several angles to provide a thorough biblical perspective on the doctrine of sola fide.
The document contains announcements for various church events taking place in the coming weeks, including young professionals lunches, fellowship dinners, medical training seminars, and service projects. The main portion discusses a sermon on the righteousness of Christ that comes through faith alone, not works. It describes how Christ's righteousness is credited or imputed to believers, while their sins are imputed to Him, justifying and sanctifying Christians.
The document discusses the author's shift from a Reformed Protestant perspective to a Catholic perspective on salvation and sanctification.
1) As a Reformed Protestant, the author believed salvation involved solely having intellectual assent that Jesus died for his sins, requiring no pursuit of virtue or fear of judgment.
2) Over time, the author came to see salvation as more than legal forgiveness or heaven/hell as places, but as addressing inner vices.
3) The author now views Catholicism as presenting a more complete view where salvation involves actively developing virtue through choice and effort, not just passive faith, requiring some fear of failing to become virtuous and find true happiness.

Romans chapter 4, The Righteousness Chapter; He Justifies The Ungodly; Is Believing A Work?; OT Righteousness?; Assurance hupostasis; Prerequisites For Salvation; Heirs are OSAS; Our Assurance; Who Gives Life?; Who Raised Jesus?
The document discusses the importance of purity and defines it as being cleansed from contamination and immorality. It suggests that purity comes from having integrity and consistency between one's outward and inward character. The proliferation of internet pornography is highlighted as a threat to purity. Maintaining purity is said to involve guarding one's heart, fleeing lustful desires, and focusing on holiness rather than worldly things. Several Bible verses are presented advising keeping sexually pure by honoring one's calling from God and hiding His word in one's heart to not sin.
Faith without works is dead because true faith results in obedience to God through good works. Faith involves complete trust and reliance on God, but the Bible teaches that faith without accompanying good works reveals an unchanged, spiritually dead heart. Good works done for God demonstrate that one's faith is alive and rooted in Christ. A person who claims to have faith but lives in disobedience does not have saving faith and is not saved.
This is an explanation of the fullness of our being born again, in a way not heretofore written by many, with helps & quotations by our beloved George Hawtin.
This document is a commentary on Romans 8:12-30 discussing the privileges and responsibilities of Christians as children of God. It describes four key privileges: 1) God is their Father, 2) Jesus Christ is their elder Brother and they inherit what he inherits, 3) The Holy Spirit helps them by guiding them, assuring them of their sonship, and interceding for them in prayer, 4) Heaven is their true home. It also discusses two main responsibilities: to remember they are in debt to God for all he has done, and to mortify, or put to death, the deeds of the flesh through the power of the Holy Spirit.

This document provides a summary of Romans 9-10, discussing how Israel missed salvation in the past by not accepting it through faith alone. It analyzes how they pursued righteousness through works instead of faith, and how Gentiles have now received salvation. It emphasizes the importance of proclaiming the gospel so all may believe and be saved through confessing faith in Jesus.
“Holding Out Hope AGAINST God’s Word” — (Hebrews 6:13-20) — It is foolish to base our hope on something God HAS NOT said, and even more foolish to hope God will do something different from what He has said! Why then will so many do so? – AUDIO / PPT / KEYNOTE / PDF — 9/3/2017
The document summarizes Paul's teaching in 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12 about how Christians should care for and disciple new believers. Paul uses the metaphors of a mother and father to illustrate the kind of spiritual care that is needed. As a mother tenderly cares for her children, mentors should show gentleness, intimate affection, and sacrificial love towards new Christians. They should impart not just the gospel message but their own lives as well. The goal is for new believers to walk worthily before God and become disciple-makers themselves.
This document discusses the biblical concept of justification. It provides 7 observations about justification:
1. Justification is based solely on the blood of Jesus, not any righteousness within the person.
2. Justification means God declares a person righteous, rather than making them righteous.
3. Justification is complete - a person is either 100% justified or condemned, there is no grading on a scale.
4. Justification is more than a pardon since it requires the penalty of sin to be paid.
5. Justification has both a positive and negative element - sins are forgiven and righteousness is credited.
6. Justification occurs once for all time, not something that must be regained.

This document provides a summary of Romans 9-10 from a Sunday school lesson. It discusses:
1. How Israel missed salvation in the past by pursuing righteousness through works of the law instead of faith.
2. How God's promises to Israel have not failed, and salvation was never guaranteed just due to their ethnicity.
3. The urgency of sharing the gospel message so that all may believe and be saved through faith in Jesus.
This document discusses the theological errors promoted in Dr. John Harvey Kellogg's 1903 book "The Living Temple" regarding the personality and nature of God. It summarizes Ellen White's warnings against these pantheistic ideas, which denied foundational Adventist beliefs. The document examines key terms White used interchangeably to describe the unchanging platform, pillars and foundations of Adventist doctrine. It affirms that present truth does not change over time and urges faithfulness to the original landmarks and principles given by God.
The document discusses the biblical characteristics of the church of Christ based on passages from the New Testament. It covers:
1. The church can only be identified by its characteristics as revealed in the NT.
2. The importance of studying the church, as the initial departure from Christianity came from leaders of the church.
3. The general structure of the church is found in passages like Ephesians and Philippians. There is only one body.
4. The church strives to follow Christ's perfect pattern, though people are imperfect.
It then discusses the head of the church being Christ, the authority being the written word of God, apostles being witnesses, prophets, evangelists,
Grace refers to God's unmerited favor and kindness toward humanity that we do not deserve. It is a gift from God through which we are saved and sanctified. Grace is an essential part of God's character and is closely related to his benevolence, love, and mercy. Without Christ, we were born in sin and enemies of God, but through grace we are forgiven, blessed, and able to have victory over sin. Grace is the basis of the gospel message and our salvation comes solely through God's grace, not by our own works or merit. As Christians, we must remember that God's grace is greater than our sins and is meant for us to serve others.
We live in a a dark world filled with evil spiritual beings who want to kill, steal and destroy our happiness and relationship with God. Jesus faced many spiritual battles, so does every person. Every Christian is a soldier who needs to know the enemies tacts, how to defend himself and how to attack. The Bible reveals all this critical information.

Romans 14 - The Gospel Demands Liberty In Matters Of JudgmentDon McClain
Romans 14 is an oft misunderstood and misused chapter. Paul deals with matters of liberty, i.e. things that are indifferent to God, which men may view differently. How should we treat one another in these areas of liberty?
This document discusses various topics related to media and collective identity. It begins with a discussion of how radio, TV and music like hip hop have helped form generational identities. It then discusses macro level media theories from thinkers like Mill, Plato and Althusser. Several TV shows are analyzed in terms of how they represent working class Britain and issues of race. The document also discusses representations of gender, sexuality, and youth in various media forms. It examines ideas of postmodern identity in newer media like games and social networks. Overall, the document takes a wide view of how media shapes concepts of self and society.
The document summarizes Romans 1:18-32, which discusses how all people are guilty before God due to suppressing the truth. It notes that God's attributes can be understood through creation, but people reject this clear evidence. Instead, they pursue sinful acts like idolatry, sexual immorality, and mistreating others. As a result of these sinful behaviors, people are deserving of death and eternal separation from God. The passage concludes by emphasizing that righteousness comes from faith, as stated in Romans 1:16-17.

The student had an easy time in their woodworking lesson. They used familiar tools like tenon saws and pull saws, and were introduced to a new tool, the coping saw, which is useful for cutting inside curved surfaces. The student completed their cuts successfully, with only minor issues of accidentally cutting their finger and a small piece of wood chipping off. They felt the lesson related to being an inquirer as they asked questions of their teacher and classmates.

Surface acoustic wave sensors show potential for protein detection by monitoring changes in amplitude and phase shift of the sensor output. As solutions containing proteins like bovine serum albumin dried on the sensor, the output signal became more attenuated, with greater concentrations correlating to increased attenuation. While viscosity and concentration appeared to impact the sensor response, further testing is needed to validate protein detection. Future work aims to miniaturize the sensor instrumentation and determine feasibility for point-of-care antigen-antibody interaction detection.
This document provides a summary and commentary on James 2:14-26 from the Bible Exposition Commentary series. It examines the relationship between faith and works, outlining three types of faith mentioned: dead faith involving just the intellect; demonic faith involving the intellect and emotions; and dynamic faith involving the whole person through the mind, emotions, and will, leading to obedience and good works. It uses the examples of Abraham and Rahab to illustrate dynamic faith justified by works, not just words. The overall message is that true saving faith is demonstrated through righteous obedience and actions, not just empty words or feelings.
This document provides a summary and commentary on James 2:14-26 from the Bible. It discusses three types of faith: dead faith which is intellectual but does not result in works; demonic faith which involves intellect and emotions but not works; and dynamic faith which involves the entire person and results in obedience and good works. It uses the examples of Abraham and Rahab to illustrate dynamic faith, noting that both showed their justifying faith through their works of obedience to God. The commentary emphasizes that true saving faith necessarily results in good works.
The document discusses salvation by grace through faith using Abraham as an illustration. It states that Abraham was not saved by his own righteousness or works, but was justified by having faith in God and His promises. Abraham believed God would fulfill what He said, even though Abraham never saw the fulfillment himself. This saving faith includes believing facts about God, agreeing with them, internalizing them personally, fully trusting in God, and placing one's hope and destiny in Him. Salvation is solely by God's grace through faith, not human works or merit, so that all glory goes to God alone.
This document discusses the relationship between faith and works in Christianity. It argues that true faith is demonstrated through works, and that we will be judged based on our deeds, not just our beliefs. Over several sections, it makes the case that: 1) Faith without works is dead; 2) Christians cannot separate their faith from their works; 3) Works are involved in our salvation process; and 4) We will be judged according to our deeds, not just our claimed faith. The overall message is that true saving faith in Christianity necessarily involves righteous actions and obedience to God's commands.
“The Nature of Saving FAITH” (2)— (Romans 3:19-5:5) In Romans 4 Paul is contrasting two opposing SYSTEMS, “FAITH & WORKS.” The “works” system cannot save a sinner because it demands perfection - and no amount of work can undo the sinners sin. The “Faith” system on the other hand implements forgiveness through Jesus thus providing justification on the grounds of God’s grace. Abraham was justified by the system of faith, not by the system of perfect Law keeping. But what kind of FAITH does the system of faith require? What KIND of FAITH did Abraham Have? - 2/26/2017

The document discusses the concepts of faith and works in relation to salvation. It states that faith is essential to salvation but salvation is not by faith alone. It provides several biblical examples and passages to support the position that obedience and good works are also necessary, such as James 2:24 which says a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. The document argues that while grace, faith, and freedom are gifts from God, believers must still obey God's commands and be faithful to inherit salvation and the kingdom of God.
DWT - Lesson 7 Disciples with DistinctionGATSOnline
1) Sanctification is a process of spiritual maturation that takes place over time through God's power, not our own efforts. It involves transforming all aspects of our being - spirit, soul, and body.
2) Holiness involves both separating ourselves from sin and dedicating ourselves to God. We are saved by grace, not works, but we are saved unto good works.
3) True holiness is a result of salvation, not a means of earning it. God demands an external witness of our internal holiness through good works.
Repentance and faith are required to receive salvation through Jesus. Repentance involves turning from sin and toward God, which requires changing one's mindset and actions. Faith is trusting in Jesus' work on the cross through believing and committing oneself to Him. One must repent of their sins and have faith in Jesus to be saved.
While some claim the above, some other believe argue that God chose the redeemed before the world began, and that redemption, therefore, is entirely unconditional.
So the question is do I need to meet any condition(s) before I’ll be saved? If yes, does this condition require effort, consistency and commitment?
The document discusses the concepts of grace and faith as they relate to salvation. It provides several Bible verses that explain that salvation is not earned through works, but is received as a free gift of God's grace when one has faith in Jesus Christ. Specifically, it is mentioned that salvation comes through believing in Jesus, trusting in him rather than trying to prove or earn salvation, and that it is through God's grace and not human works that people are saved and declared righteous in God's sight.
Grace from God can be abused in several ways according to the document. Some abuse grace by using it as an excuse to continue sinning, believing that grace allows them to disobey God. Others teach that salvation is by grace alone and that human works and obedience play no part. Still others believe that grace excludes the need for righteousness and that they can live unholy lives. However, the document asserts that true grace requires faith that actively obeys God and produces righteous living, not lawlessness.
James 6: Relationship between Faith & Workshuntdoug
The document discusses different views on the relationship between faith and works as it relates to salvation. It presents three views: the Arminian view which holds that saving faith requires good works or it is not true faith and can lead to loss of salvation; the Reformed view which argues that genuine faith inevitably produces good works and lack of works means lack of true faith; and a mediating view which allows for lack of connection between faith and works but sees lack of good works as lack of living faith that can lead to discipline but not loss of salvation.
This document provides a summary of Romans 4:18-25 and discusses Abraham's faith in God's promise to make him the father of many nations despite being old and his wife Sarah being barren. The summary is:
1) Abraham believed God's promise against all human reasoning and his and Sarah's inability to conceive naturally.
2) Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness, showing that justification comes through faith, not works.
3) The passage teaches that if believers have faith in God, who raised Jesus from the dead, their faith will also be credited as righteousness.
The document discusses the importance of having a living faith according to the Bible. It defines a living faith as one that is active, obedient to God's commands, and works righteousness. In contrast, a dead faith is useless. It says we must gain a living faith through obeying God's word, believing the gospel, repenting of sins, being baptized, and remaining faithful. Maintaining a living faith involves walking with God daily through prayer, studying scripture, resisting evil, and obeying God's teachings.
The document discusses three major ways Christians can overcome the world: prayer, faith, and developing Christ-like character. It provides biblical examples for each: prayer involves asking God for help and trusting his response; faith means believing God's promises without doubting; and character focuses on living with love, righteousness, holiness and seeking God above all else. The overall message is that through relying on God through prayer and having faith in him, and striving to become more like Christ in character, believers can overcome sinful desires and withstand worldly influences.

“The Kind of Preaching That Pleases God”Don McClain
This document examines what constitutes successful preaching according to God rather than popular measures. It profiles several preachers in the Bible like Noah, Jeremiah, John the Baptist, Jesus, Paul, Peter and Stephen. All faced opposition but faithfully proclaimed God's message of repentance, judgment for sin, and salvation through obedience. True preaching pleases God by upholding sound doctrine instead of popular fables and applies scriptural teachings to modern issues while opposing false teachings.

Saved Like Noah - [Baptism also now saves us … 1 Peter 3:18-22] Don McClain
The document discusses the relationship between Noah's salvation through the flood and baptism according to 1 Peter 3:18-22. It presents Noah's deliverance in the ark through the water of the flood as the type, and salvation through baptism by the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the antitype. Several sources are cited establishing Noah as saved by grace, faith, and obedience, and being physically delivered from God's judgment. Similarly, believers are saved by grace, faith, and obedience through baptism as the vehicle to access spiritual deliverance from judgment through Christ's resurrection. Baptism is described as an appeal to God for a cleansed conscience, not for ceremonial cleansing, and saves by contacting Christ's death and resurre
What Is Real, True, Genuine Repentance?Don McClain
“What Is Real, True, Genuine Repentance?" - [According To God’s Word — Matthew 21:28-32] - Repentance is a command of God / Repentance is something God wills that every one of us would do - Sadly, very few are willing to actually, truly REPENT! Repentance has often been referenced as “the hardest command!” Why? What is so difficult about repentance? In this study we examine what repentance IS NOT - then five characteristics of genuine repentance.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

1 What then shall we say that Abraham our father
has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham
was justified by works, he has something to boast
about, but not before God. 3 For what does the
Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was
accounted to him for righteousness." 4 Now to him
who works, the wages are not counted as grace but
as debt.
Abraham was not righteous because he had never sinned
Abraham was a sinner counted as righteous through his faith

17. Romans 4:1-8 (NKJV)
5 But to him who does not work but believes on
Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is

imputes righteousness apart from works: 7 "Blessed
are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And
whose sins are covered; 8 Blessed is the man to
whom the LORD shall not impute sin."

grace. But if it is of works, it unmerited through
is no longer grace; otherwise Jesus Christ when we
