This document discusses a conference on transforming educational relationships through intergenerational and family learning. It notes that Romania aims to reduce early school leaving and increase tertiary education rates by 2020. Several studies presented show the importance of family cohesion and stability for student performance and reducing dropout rates. Children with migrant parents or who changed schools frequently due to family moves had lower grades and higher dropout risks. The conference will address secondary students', parents' and teachers' perspectives on the role of family and education through a national student survey measuring views on performance, materialism and consultation.
