The Forth Bridge in Scotland connects the villages of South Queensferry and North Queensferry across the Firth of Forth. It was built between 1882 and 1890 by Sir William Arrol. The design engineers were Sir Benjamin Baker and Sir John Fowler. It is a cantilever truss bridge with a total length of 2.5 km. Its three towers are each 100 meters tall and support the bridge's two 521 meter main spans. The bridge was constructed after a previous bridge across the Firth of Tay collapsed in a storm, killing 75 people.
