The Salginatobel Bridge in Switzerland is a 135m long, three-hinged arch bridge built from steel and concrete between 1929-1930. The arch span is 90m high and rises 13.5m, while the deck rises 3.97m from one end to the other at a 3% gradient. A three-hinged arch design was chosen to allow for flexibility of movement in the mountain and reduce stresses from temperature changes, preventing cracking or failure that a fixed arch could experience.
