Road safety in bangladesh realities and challengesPolicy Adda
The presentation of a comprehensive research on road safety issues presented by Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive Director, PPRC, also a former adviser to Caretaker Government.
It reveals that five districts, namely Dhaka, Chittagong, Comilla, Tangail and Sirajganj of the country are most prone to road accident. It also reveals that 38 per cent traffic accidents involve buses, which is more than any other kinds of vehicles involved in such incidents.
The research report titled 'Road safety in Bangladesh: Realities and Challenges' was launched at an event on August 13 Wednesday at The Daily Star auditorium in the capital, organised by non-governmental organisation BRAC and Power and Participation Research Center, PPRC in short. PPRC carried out the research commissioned by BRAC. Honourable communication minister Obaidul Quader attended as the chief guest.
The launch of the report was organised on the day of the third death anniversary of noted filmmaker Tareque Masud and eminent journalist Mishuk Munier, who, along with three others, were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Manikganj Highway in 2011.
The research reveals important data and information, presenting a comprehensive scenario of the country's road safety reality. According to the analysis of the report, Most road accidents occur in a length of 57 kilometres, distributed in different stretches in different highways.
Findings of the research also challenge the popular perception that road accidents usually happen in isolated areas of highways and show that more accidents occur in the congested and busy portions ─ 40.90 per cent happen at or around bus stands, followed by 28.40 per cent accidents happening at the roadside village markets. Among different types of vehicles, bus has proved most fatal, causing 38 per cent road crashes.
WHO has identified traffic accidents as the eighth cause for unnatural death with over 1.2 million annual deaths. The research also reports reckless driving as the most frequent cause of road accidents, while lack of adequate training, unfit vehicles, problems in road structure, weak implementation of traffic law and impunity of the perpetrators remain other important causes.
a brief information about what road safety is, and why it is so important for common people. this presentation is designed for Pakistani people by mr. Mohammad Shahid of Road Safety First.

Road Safety tips for safe driving by MidsommarSarah Kate
Road safety is a prime concern for the road safety department of USA. And here i have a collection of tips for you which is really very good for a safe driving.
Each year nearly 1.3 million people die as a result of a road traffic collision—
more than 3000 deaths each day—and more than half of these people are not
travelling in a car. Ninety percent of road traffic deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries,
which claim less than half the world\'s registered vehicle fleet. Road traffic injuries
are among the three leading causes of death for people between 5 and 44 years
of age. Unless immediate and effective action is taken, road traffic injuries are
predicted to become the fifth leading cause of death in the world, resulting in an
estimated 2.4 million deaths each year.
As we know in India road accidents plays very brutal role everyday, India lost a healthy people everyday because of silly mistakes which will not considerable. If government of India and People conscious about all road safety and improvement in traffic rules and awareness in people about road safety, we will save a valuable life's.
Traffic rules
Check your right first then left before crossing the road. Stop at the red and move at the green signal. Avoid overtaking but if required, then blow horn and overtaking should be done only from right side of the vehicle in front of you. Pedestrians should walk in opposite direction of traffic.

The term road traffic safety is an indication of how safe individual users are on some particular road, or on the roads belonging to some region.
It is sharing of knowledge for education purpose for road users - By Bimal Chandra Das / Kolkata / Bokaro
A short ppt on how rash driving may be harmful to the mankind and how safe driving is the best policy to adopt while travelling on road in order to safe yours and others life.
Road Safety should be known by everyone. Anyone should be aware of safety by Road accidents. If we follow rule followed by Traffic police we will be safe and sound.
If we will be aware of road safety there will be less accidents in the word.
Traffic Study is “a study conducted during the development approval process to determine the impacts that traffic generated by the proposed development will have on the surrounding street network and the improvements needed to the transportation system in order to mitigate those impacts.”
New Development prone to generate traffic that may give rise to congestion, safety issues, therefore, it demands the need for infrastructure improvement such as new signalization, turn lanes, or crosswalks. Traffic impact studies (TIS) are a common planning tool used by development authorities, such as Building Control Authorities, to foresee demands and impacts on the transportation network and determine transportation improvements that may be necessary to accommodate new development. Traffic access and impact studies are also intended to maintain a satisfactory level of service and the appropriate access provisions for a proposed development.
Traffic signs or road signs are signs erected at the side of or above roads to give instructions or provide information to road users. The earliest signs were simple wooden or stone milestones. Later, signs with directional arms were introduced.
Traffic signals are designed to ensure an orderly flow of traffic, provide an opportunity for pedestrians or vehicles to cross an intersection and help reduce the number of conflicts between vehicles entering intersections from different directions.

0x01 - Newton's Third Law: Static vs. Dynamic AbusersOWASP Beja
f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

3. What is Road Safety?
Road traffic safety refers to methods and measures
for reducing the risk of a person using the road
network for being killed or seriously injured. The
users of a road include pedestrians, cyclists,
motorists, their passengers and passengers of on-
road public transport, mainly buses and trains. But
due to ignorance of safety on the roads there are
accident happening on the road causing injuries
and deaths.
6. Why these road accidents are happening?
Main cause of accidents and crashes are-
Over Speeding.
Overtaking.
Drunken Driving.
Distractions to Driver.
Red Light Jumping.
Avoiding Safety Gears like Seat belts and Helmets.
Unawareness of road rules, regulation and signs.
10. Steps to be taken for preventing Road Accidents
90% of accidents can be avoided by strict enforcement of speed
limits.
Existing speed limits should be brought down further.
Heavy Penalty should be imposed on all those who cross speed
limits.
Helmet should be made compulsory.
11. How to prevent Road Accidents
TV and other media should be effectively used for Public safety
awareness.
Major accidents and accident prone areas should be scientifically
analyzed.
License of those who make serious accidents should be cancelled.
Zebra crossings should be provided for pedestrians for safe road
crossings at appropriate places.
Signals for road crossings at important busy places where a large
number of people have to cross the road everyday.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16. Road Safety Signs
oTraffic signs and road markings are silent speakers
to the road users. Every road user should know the
marking and signs on the road and the meaning of
them.
oMany different traffic signs can be seen on the
roads. They give advance information about road
conditions ahead. Road markings also give orders,
warning or guideline to drivers or riders.
17. Road Traffic Signs
Road signs are classified under the three heads:
•Mandatory Signs.
•Cautionary Signs.
•Informatory Signs.
18. Mandatory Signs:
These signs are used to inform road users of certain laws and regulations to
provide safety and free flow of traffic. These include all signs which give
notice of special obligation, prohibition or restrictions with which the road
user must comply. The violation of these signs is a legal offence.
19. Cautionary Signs:
These signs are used to warn the road users of the existence of
certain hazardous condition either on or adjacent to the roadway, so
that the motorists are cautious and take the desired action. Some of
the signs, which fall under this category, are provided as follows:
20. Informatory Signs:
These signs are used to guide road users along routes, inform them about
destination and distance, identify points of geographical and historical
interest and provide other information that will make the road travel easier,
safe and pleasant.
21. Some Road Safety Tips
oEveryone going on the road (especially drivers) must be to the left and let
other vehicles pass on the opposite direction to pass.
oDrivers should be in slow speed while turning on the roads.
oTake extra precaution while going on the over-crowded roads and road
junctions.
oBikers or people using two wheel vehicles must wear helmets of superior
quality otherwise they should never go on the road without helmet.
22. oSpeed of the vehicles should be within the speed limit and slow
especially in the areas of school, hospital, colony, etc.
oEvery vehicle on the road should maintain the right distance among
them to avoid collisions and accidents.
oEveryone using road should be well aware of the road signs and must
follow rules.
oAll the road safety rules and regulations must be in mind while
travelling.
23. Conclusion
Road safety is very important for people of all age group
to be safe and secure as well as reduce the number of
road accidents and injury cases. So, everyone should
strictly follow all the rules, regulations and signs of road
traffic lights and remember the Green Cross Code-
24. 1. First find the safest place to
cross.
2. Stop just before you get to the
Krebs.
3. Look all around for traffic and
listen.
4. If traffic is coming, let it pass.
5. When it is safe, go straight
across the road- don’t run and
stop your car at red and go
when it is green.
