This document provides an overview of the literature review process. It defines a literature review, outlines its purposes, and describes the key steps and components. These include identifying relevant prior research, analyzing and synthesizing published studies, and determining gaps to position one's own research. The document also discusses searching for literature, critiquing research methods and findings, abstracting essential details, indexing information, and formatting a literature review paper. The overall goals are to establish context for a research topic or question and to identify how the proposed research can extend existing knowledge.

Literature review is a critical analysis of an authorized and accredited body of knowledge through classifications, summary, evidences, justifications and comparison of prior research studies. While writing, you must not confuse your review paper with an annotated bibliography.
Being a writer, your purpose is to realize the readers that this chapter is informative and targeted but, it still has the scope to answer “Why”, “When”, “What” and “How”. More than just sequence of names, your literature review outline must have solid substances as well.
Before understanding the rudimentary facts about outline template, learn the two major aspects either of which can be followed while designing a literature review outline.

Research is "creative and systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge". It involves the collection, organization and analysis of evidence to increase understanding of a topic, characterized by a particular attentiveness to controlling sources of bias and error.
Researchers almost never conduct a study in an intellectual vacuum: their studies are undertaken within the context of an already existing knowledge base.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

10. Additional Reasons
In addition to these specific purposes, there are
some general purposes of the literature review:
To argue for the relevance and the significance of
the research question.
To provide the context for one’s own
methodological approach

research intends to fill.(Research gap

17. Reviewing the literature
What was the question of the research study?
What were the cited and referenced authors trying
to discover or prove?
Was the research of the cited author being funded
by an influencing source?
What were the methodologies used in the cited
works? Analyze the whole literature, all the
sample, variables, results, and conclusions.
Was the research completed? Did it get to a point,
proving or discovering something?
Our studies in conflict with the one being
presented? Is the other more influential or giving a
proved answer?

you”

25. Why Do a Research Critique?
Not All Published research is scientifically
sound
Results may have little support for their
validity and may reflect a bias
Therefore we need to
Understand the purpose and problem
while determining the design and methodology
of the purpose and reflect on the quality
