DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : QC/WELDING INSPECTOR
• Attend daily toolbox meeting with sub-contractors foreman, progress management
team and clients. Planning for task to be done and overcome any problems.
• Involved during material receiving and unloading. Check physical condition, quantity,
size, dimension, and material grade. Check documentation such as Mill Certificate,
Purchased Order and Delivery Order.
• Responsible for material storage, preservation and color coding. To locate appropriate
location, protection from environment and temperature control for consumables.
• Check piping material during receiving inspection such as dimension, material
identification, grade and quantity.
• Check welding consumable according to consumable certificate.
• Reviewed Project Specific procedures for piping, Client Specification, ITP, WPS,
NDT matrix and Piping Drawing such as ISO, P&ID, GA Drawing.
• Monitoring and witnessed for Welder Qualification Test (WQT) and Welding
Procedure Qualification Test (WPQT)
• Attended daily morning Safety Briefing, Daily Tool Box Talk and Progress Weekly
Mass Safety Briefing.
• Supervise and ensure HSE compliance throughout project execution and ensure are
executed in line with Company and Client HSE management system
• Liaise with Material Coordinator for material receiving Inspection for piping
materials such as Pipes, Fittings, Flanges, Outlets, Valves, Gasket, Stud Bolt & Nut.
Physically check any damage, size, type, condition, heat number, quantity and
dimension. Review for Purchase Order (PO), Delivery Order (DO), Material
Inspection Report (MIR), Material Inspection Deficiency Report (MIDR), Material
Mill Certificates and Test Certificates. Check the mechanical properties, chemical
contents and all description are complying with specs and code requirement.
• To ensure all CRA materials (Stainless steel, Cooper Nickel, Duplex Stainless Steel &
Super Duplex Stainless Steel) has been applied VCI ( Vapour Corrosion Inhibitor) for
preservation & protection, and proper handling, storage, segregate to location for
fabrication.
• Ensured welding consumables proposed for use on construction shall be qualified for
use in accordance with the applicable WPS and specification requirement
• Monitoring the backing and holding temperature of welding electrode oven, check the
consumable in term the size, type and condition and monitoring welding consumables
issuing & returning records.
• Liaise with QA/QC Coordinator, QA/QC Piping Lead, and Piping Engineer to discuss
and confirmed for any Technical and Engineering queries was found at site to be
rectify and implement at site as per discussion.
• Performed the Material Verification Inspection such as verified material type & grade,
size, dimension, heat number, piece mark number as per MAC number and IFF
Drawing.
• Performed the Fit-up Inspection to checked and ensured that the joint preparation,
root gap / face,hi-lo, bevel angle, orientation, squareness, alignment is within
tolerance as follow as per IFF Drawing, WPS and Client specification requirement.
Sketch the detail of line pipe spools for red line mark up for any additional,
modification and drawing revised.
• Monitoring before, during and after welding activities, checked the inter pass
temperature, inter pass cleaning, welding parameter checked, Oxygen level and
Ferrite count monitoring for CRA materials, welding sequence and distortion control,
and to ensured welding activities has been carried out as follow as per WPS, and to
ensured joints for CRA materials has been applied acid pickling for cleaning prior
Visual Inspection.
• Select the joint for NDT (RT, UT, MPI, DPI, PMI) by the drawing and line system as
follow as per NDT Matrix requirement, liaise with NDT Coordinator and to confirm
that the joints need to repair and location of repair. Monitoring the repair joints as
follow as per Repair Procedure and Method of repair and carried out the Hardness
Test after repair.
• Liaise with PWHT Technician for witnessed of Post Weld Heat Treatment as per
Client requirement, and to check the soaking time, holding time and reviewed reports.
• Carried out inspection for pipe spool and pipe support to checked the Tagging,
Quantity Condition and to ensure the pipe spools need to blowing for internal
cleaning and proper preservation to cap off all the allowed access prior send to the
blasting and painting.
• Monitoring and liaise with PMT for all the pipe spools and pipe supports installed to
the Platform and to confirm location as per drawing.
• Prepared documents required and compilation for Test Package, such as Test Package
Index Drawing, Check Sheet, Weld Summary, Punch List and etc.
• Checked the preparation of Hydro test or Pneumatic, and Line walk prior Hydrostatic
test and raised punch list by category A,B & C and follow up with Contractor to done
the priority category A for proceed Hydrostatic Test.
• Monitoring for Hydrostatic Test and to ensure that the calibration certificates of
Temperature & Chart recorder, Chloride content was valid, and Permit to work was
display at location testing. To monitor the division of pressure during pressure up and
maintain the pressure during holding time proper recorded. Witness the Flushing and
Blowing to ensure internal cleaning and all the foreign materials and debris has been
removed.
• Carry out line checking and punch killing after Hydrostatic Test and monitor for
Reinstatement Leak Test injected the Nitrogen, snoopy check during pre-
commissioning and closed the piping check sheet.
• Preparation of documents compilation for final documents prior submit to Client.
SKILLS PROFILE
 Ability and familiar with engineering drawing PIPING ISO DRAWING, PIPING
GA DRAWING, P&ID DRAWING, STRUCTURALDRAWING, STRUCTURAL
ISO DRAWING, STRUCTURAL GA DRAWING.
 Proficient in Microsoft Office 2007/2010, Microsoft Excel Worksheet, Microsoft
Power Point, Auto Cade.
 Good interpersonal skill and experience in communicating with organization or
people.

  • 4. • Liaise with PWHT Technician for witnessed of Post Weld Heat Treatment as per Client requirement, and to check the soaking time, holding time and reviewed reports. • Carried out inspection for pipe spool and pipe support to checked the Tagging, Quantity Condition and to ensure the pipe spools need to blowing for internal cleaning and proper preservation to cap off all the allowed access prior send to the blasting and painting. • Monitoring and liaise with PMT for all the pipe spools and pipe supports installed to the Platform and to confirm location as per drawing. • Prepared documents required and compilation for Test Package, such as Test Package Index Drawing, Check Sheet, Weld Summary, Punch List and etc. • Checked the preparation of Hydro test or Pneumatic, and Line walk prior Hydrostatic test and raised punch list by category A,B & C and follow up with Contractor to done the priority category A for proceed Hydrostatic Test. • Monitoring for Hydrostatic Test and to ensure that the calibration certificates of Temperature & Chart recorder, Chloride content was valid, and Permit to work was display at location testing. To monitor the division of pressure during pressure up and maintain the pressure during holding time proper recorded.
