SlideShare a Scribd company logo
This magazine has used rule of thirds top
structure the layout of the contents page.
On the left side there is a band index, the
middle contains the main story and the
right has news and reviews.
The masthead has been used on the
contents page in the same font and it also
uses the same colour. This consistent
theme makes the magazine brand
recognisable to the target audience.
The main headline and picture links
to the strapline from the front cover.
This helps to introduce the main
story.
The image used is a mid-shot. And
they have also used props, which is
mise-en-scene.
They have used a bus which links to
the text as it is a tour bus which
shows what the artists will be
travelling in.
They have put this part of the
contents page in a border so that it
pops out more and it makes it
obvious that it is an article.
Here are the sub-headings which put
the articles into categories based on
what they are talking about. They also
have page numbers which are used to
tell the audience where to find each
article.
The date is used to show the
magazines audience which date
the magazine was out so they
would be able to find out whether
it is new or old.
The language used is informal which
creates a relaxed atmosphere for the
reader. The type of language used would
suits the type of person who would read
this magazine. Also the simple font used
is easy to read which also meets the
demands of the target audience.
The house style for this magazine is
always like this. This makes the brand
recognisable and it has its own unique
way to lay out a magazine content
page.
The title of this is NME contents
which is always the same and the
title helps for the target audience to
recognise the name.
This grab quote helps to sell the
magazine and try to get more
people to read this magazine.These sub-headings are also grab
quotes which are large and easy to
see which shows what is included
in the magazine

  • 2. This magazine has used rule of thirds top structure the layout of the contents page. On the left side there is a band index, the middle contains the main story and the right has news and reviews. The masthead has been used on the contents page in the same font and it also uses the same colour. This consistent theme makes the magazine brand recognisable to the target audience. The main headline and picture links to the strapline from the front cover. This helps to introduce the main story. The image used is a mid-shot. And they have also used props, which is mise-en-scene. They have used a bus which links to the text as it is a tour bus which shows what the artists will be travelling in. They have put this part of the contents page in a border so that it pops out more and it makes it obvious that it is an article. Here are the sub-headings which put the articles into categories based on what they are talking about. They also have page numbers which are used to tell the audience where to find each article. The date is used to show the magazines audience which date the magazine was out so they would be able to find out whether it is new or old. The language used is informal which creates a relaxed atmosphere for the reader. The type of language used would suits the type of person who would read this magazine. Also the simple font used is easy to read which also meets the demands of the target audience. The house style for this magazine is always like this. This makes the brand recognisable and it has its own unique way to lay out a magazine content page. The title of this is NME contents which is always the same and the title helps for the target audience to recognise the name. This grab quote helps to sell the magazine and try to get more people to read this magazine.These sub-headings are also grab quotes which are large and easy to see which shows what is included in the magazine
