Through their project, the author used a wide range of media technologies. They used Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro to create a documentary and double page spread, as well as edit images. Microsoft Office and SlideShare helped complete research, planning and evaluations. Survey Monkey and MindMeister were also utilized to conduct research and gather audience feedback. Hardware like cameras, tripods and scanners were employed to improve work. While comfortable tools like Office were relied on, the evaluation could have been improved through inclusion of a reflective video.

1. Evaluation Question 4 – How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Through the whole process of planning, creating and evaluating our products we used a
wide range of media technologies. The first example would be when we used Adobe
programs such as Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere. While using this software we could
create our documentary, double page spread and we were also able to edit some images
use in both the documentary and double page spread. Last year we also used two of these
programs so I had no problem using them and found it comfortable to complete the tasks,
however it was difficult to create different effects and add our own style to the
documentary but once learning the basics of premiere pro it became a lot easier.
We also used Microsoft office and SlideShare to upload our research and planning to our
blog and complete my evaluation questions. This helped to get large amounts of date
through and helped us too conclude our research and planning. Since they are commonly
used we knew they were reliable and had no problems using them.
To gather audience feedback we used a new website called Survey Monkey which was
simple to use and allowed us a new way to carry out research. While collecting research I
decided to use a new website MindMeister which we used a couple of times which was
another useful website that was simple to use but helped add something different to our
blog.

2. Throughout the whole process we used hardware like cameras, tripods and scanners to help
improve the blog and the products created.
Overall, I believe we have used a wide range of programs and software available to create
good quality products, research and planning and evaluations. I have used software that I
am comfortable using and software that I know I will be able to use at a high level. However,
to make my evaluation different I could have included a video maybe since I am also familiar
with creating them since our group created multiple videos to review our progress so far on
the blog.
