Antibiotic Overuse Of Antibiotics Research
Imagine getting sick with a bug that should be easily treated, but your doctor has not been able to
prescribe anything to provide relief. Instances like this have become more common in the past two
decades do to the emergence of drug resistant infections. This is not only a problem that the United
States faces but it s a worldwide crisis. In this paper I will address how overuse of antibiotics has
caused an influx of drug resistant infections specifically C Diff and how this impacts human health
worldwide and the efforts to fight against it. Literature searches using the databases CINAHL
Complete and PubMed were used to gather data on the overuse of antibiotics contributing to C Diff. A
total of 98 articles were generated using specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Timothy Sullivan explains how the overuse of broad spectrum antibiotics for prolonged durations
have been linked to the development of C. Difficile infections. In comparison these articles provide
evidence on how the overuse of antibiotics contribute the development of drug resistant organisms and
ways that this can be avoided. The settings of where these studies were conducted were in a variety of
settings hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. These studies were conducted in different countries and
states, this shows that the overuse/misuse of antibiotics contribute to multidrug resistant infections.
The misuse/overuse of antibiotics is an issue that requires attention. Because of the development of C
Difficile infections education on drug resistant should commence at the undergraduate level for all
health care professionals to help them get more acclimated with the drug resistance issue. Drug
resistance is not just an individual issue but it s a world issue, by adapting a strict discipline and
holistic approach we just may be able to get an old problem under control before a new one

High Stakes Testing In Schools Summary
Summary This article discusses the various effects that high stakes testing has on different schools
throughout the country. This article focuses mainly on the negative aspects regarding high stakes
testing; however, the article also has a few positive aspects regarding high stakes testing as well. A
few examples of effects that occurs with high stakes testing are things such as the following: cheating
(in many different forms), misinterpretation and misrepresentation, pressure amongst students and
faculty, as well as many other examples. This article discusses how not only the students were being
caught cheating, but the teachers and even the administration in the school. Most of the staff would
just turn their head and overlook the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were some interesting points that were made throughout the article, some that I totally agree
with and some that were very surprising to me. One of the main points discussed is how the pressure
is steadily rising among students to have the best scores as they possibly can on the tests. With an
incline in technological advances, students have more accessibility to sources that can be very
beneficial to them at the time. However, it can also lead to be very dangerous and consequential to
them. I am sort of indecisive about high stakes testing. I agree with high stakes testing in the sense that
it prepares students for college, enhances their test taking skills, and assesses their learning. On the
other hand, is it really worth stressing students and teachers out to the max when it is just a test? Is this
perfection that students strive so hard for leading to cheating so that they can have the better score
than the others? I believe that schools in general should focus on the achievement of students instead
of the number that they scored on a test that they took. Some schools even go as far as cutting subjects
such as history, art, music, and geography out of the curriculum because they are not important.
Another main topic in this article was teaching to the test. We discussed in lecture, Is it really teaching
to the test if you are teaching the material, and it just happens to be covered on the test? The answer
was no. I don t agree with teaching to the test. I think students should know more information than
what is just going to be on the test. There is a fine line between teaching to the test and actually
teaching the test itself. The most surprising information in this article to me was that approximately
forty percent of teachers either gave students hints, encouraged them to change their answers on the
test, allocated the students more time for the tests or simply taught

Rape And Sexual Violence And Assault And Its Survivors Essay
LITERATURE REVIEW
1.1 Introduction
This is a presentation of findings from the literature review with focus on rape and sexual
violence/assault and its survivors. Extensive literature search was conducted on relevant concepts that
include the definition of rape, sexual violence and assault, consequences of rape and sexual
violence/assault, provision of health services. The search looked at developed and developing
countries as well as war stricken settings. Therefore, the aim was to understand the burden of rape and
sexual violence, its consequences and provision of health services for survivors and constitutional
narrative relating to rape and sexual violence.
1.2 Rape and sexual violence burden
Rape and sexual violence/assault against humankind are among the most pervasive forms of violence.
High prevalence of sexual violence was initially reported in research from Europe and Northern
America. However, other continents are growingly reporting alarming prevalence of sexual violence.
Based on the World Health Organization s (2005) report on multi country study of women s health and
domestic violence against women, approximately 6% to 59% of women globally report forced or
attempted sexual intercourse (by partners or non partners) in their lifetime. While much research has
focused on sexual violence against women and children, various studies have since reported on sexual
violence against men.(1)
Approximately 19.3% of women and 1.7% of men have during their lifetimes been

Significance Of The Battle Of Remagen
Ludendorff Bridge in Germany: Battle of Remagen during WWII The Ludendorff bridge, the bridge
that connects Remagen and the small village of Erpel was constructed during World War I in 1916 and
was later finished around 1918 1919. During the end of World War II, specifically during the Allied
Invasion of Germany, the bridge was found still standing. In shock, the Allies tried to capture the
bridge. The German troops, which was in the other side of the bridge try their best not prevent the U.S
Army from getting in. The battle that occurred, which was mainly known as The Battle of Remagen
happened during the 1 7 March 1945. This bridge is significant to World War II because its existence
triggers the battle between the German troops and U.S troops, which later give a huge impact towards
the end of World War II.
This bridge or was mainly known as the Remagen Bridge was built mainly due to the support from
General Erich Ludendorff, so the bridge was named after him. As it was built during the World War I,
the main reason for its construction was for military reasons. The other reason was also to increase the

JIT Project
Making a list of the problems in this case will give us a better view of what is going wrong with the
JIT project.
1. Supplier management expert not working out
2. Stakeholder conflict about tasks execution
3. People complaining of lack of communication
4. IT overallocation for critical path tasks
5. Supplier management intro course prototype was not well received
6. Possibility of increased cost by seller of the course
As we can see, there are numerous issues with this project. Does this mean that the project is headed
for failure? I would argue not necessarily. Surely, if this list of issues is not addressed, the likelihood
of the project failure will skyrocket.
We can see that numbers 1 and 4 are HR issues. For #1, the PM and HR would need to sit down with
the expert and either fix the problem, or look for another expert. There are pro s and con s to both of
these options, so it would be preferrable to keep the expert but fix the problem. Hiring a new SME
would cost additional time and money to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, the PM should again go through this list and address each one in their own way.
1. Fix the SME problem, ensuring that the project team and sponsor are aware of the issue
2. Explain to the stakeholders why the team has decided to execute tasks and the reasons for not doing
it another way. Stakeholders aren t the ones managing the project and need to trust in the project
manager and project team.
3. Figure out where the communication breakdown is an fix it. I would argue that in this case, there
appears to be a lack of communication on all fronts and that it is detrimental to a project of any type.
4. Whatever the fix is, it must be communicated to the project sponsor and stakeholders as to why
there is either an increase in budget or porject duration. I explained the issues

Graphic Design Essay
The world of Graphic Design is ever changing, and fast paced. Attempting to keep up with new ideas
and trends can be dizzying along with tiring. We have already seen the invention of so much
technology to get us where we are today, whether that be the Gutenberg Press or Apple s Macintosh
Computer. The future of design shows no signs of mercy in terms of slowing down, but just what does
the future have in store? Before we can think about the future, we must first understand the past.
Design can be dated back as far as pre historic times through the Lascaux Cave Paintings. Done over
200,000 years ago, it is the earliest known example of writing. It would later be discovered as a form
of communications. The Egyptian culture utilized design in their Book of the Deads. Each book was
made to include passwords, and spells to help those you have passed away in their afterlife. It would
be until the Chinese civilization, and all their world changing inventions, where we would see an
emergence of the printing process. Alongside the compass, and gunpowder, the civilization also
invented paper, and what is known as Chinese Chops. Chinese Chops were commonly made of jade,
silver, or even ivory, and was a stamp like objects that allowed for mass production at the time.
Between a combination of the Chops and a shortage of iron, the culture was able to get printing into
the hands of everyone through money. Unfortunately, because of the shear amount of characters in the
Chinese language,

Nationalism in the Middle East
The concept of identity in a person s life often emanates from systemized sense of social
representations and relations. Actors in the identity criterion have a sense of belonging characterized
by a capacity of self reflection, entailing a process that constantly reaffirms one s status and
differentiation from others. Identity produces consciousness of action and becomes formalized, with
symbolic character and recognition found within specific limitations that are confined in a particular
environment (Montserrat 10). Therefore, an individual s uniqueness directly creates a singular person
s identity, which is an essential element in the development of national identity. It is the summation of
those individuals identities that leads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the Middle East nationalism process was delayed in comparison with the European
nationalism because the Arab world possessed unique aspects due to cultural, political and religious
features that were associated with the colonial rule. Due to the aspect of their likeness in terms of
language trait, Arab nationalist in the Middle East had a greater appeal for nationalism, despite the
shifting political alliances.
Despite having identical cultural orientations, the Arab nationalists had consciousness identity
difficulties because they were under the Ottoman Empire for a long time. Arguably, in the first stages
of Arab nationalists movements, European powers had sought to simulate the its development trends
in Arab inhabited territories in order to facilitate dismantling of the Ottoman empire, which still
continued to maintain its influence, even after its disintegration. Conversely, after the fall of Ottoman
Empire, European countries tried to obstruct the promotion of Pan Arabism attempting to achieve
unity, thus hindering them to develop the Pan Arabism nationalist trend (Gerber 263). However, the
tribal and multi confessional diversity among the Arabs presented a challenge in achieving the unity
goal. Moreover, the Arabs were also divided on religious aspects, thus disadvantaging

Total War During World War II
Definition:
What is meant by the concept of Total War? Total war is best described as a country s 100% effort. All
means of production and accomplishment are geared towards what is the best way to win a war.
How was WWII the maximum example of Total War? Most Allies and Axis countries, namely
Germany, had geared their economy towards pouring all their resources into the attempt of winning
the war. In no other war was this done as much as it was during World War II.
Mass Produced Warfare:
Compare the military production of the various major Allied and Axis powers during WWII. What
observations can you make about the outcome of the war based on this information? There are many
ways of defining military production, but in the broadest way, ... Show more content on

By not taking in other factors, and by looking at production amounts only, it is obvious that the Allies
would win. There was no means of resources that the Axis powers excelled in, and had few people
who fought in the war. Both sides of the war had at this time undergone industrial revolutions, had at
least somewhat equal caliber machinery. This means that it would be almost physically impossible for
the Axis to defeat the Allies.
Strategic Bombing:
What do the websites say about the effectiveness of bombing campaigns in disrupting the war effort of
the Axis during WWII? According to the majority of the information on the websites, the bombing
campaigns put in place by the Allies were not very effective. The main goal of the bombing campaigns
were to break the morale of the Axis citizens, specifically Germany. This was done by instead of fully
wiping out cities, leaving them only half damaged to show the power of the armies. However, these
bombings did little to no damage to the will of Germans. People still were willing to support the Nazi
cause. The German economy was very much destroyed, thanks to the bombing efforts, but military
production was still proceeding, as the Germans were prepared for the Total War involved. It is also
stated that as a result of the bombings, Germany s mobility was shrunken, as they could not move as
fast as they wanted.
What about the collateral damage involved? The amount of collateral damage that the

Rapid Decline Of Crime In The 1990s
Components of the Rapid Decline in Crime of the 1990s The 1960s were more than just Civil Rights
and Woodstock. Contrary to what the people believed, the 1960s was an important decade in regards
to ending the peaceful period of crime decline that the United States had been enjoying since 1930
(Levitt, Dubner 115 146). The United States was about to see the highest crime rates in its history by
the end of the 1980s, heading for the 1990s. Upon entering the 1990s though, what was being
recorded were record levels of crime, but in the opposite direction as predicted (Levitt, Dubner 115

Application Capabilities
This system may be used for examinations on both children and adults. The table can be used to
acquire images of the patient in a recumbent, sitting or prone position. The wall stand can be used for
patients that are standing or sitting. The digital images displayed on the system thereafter are of
excellent quality due to the proper understanding of the radiographer in terms of how to set exposure
factors needed to attain the level of contrast needed. (Siemens 2010; 39).
The Wall Stand
The wall stand contains the grid and has a holder for the detector. The detector unit can be
manipulated vertically or horizontally. The tube can be centred to the middle of the wall stand and
FFD adjusted to the required position depending on the type of examination being done at the time.
Examinations on the skull, spine, shoulder girdle, pelvis, abdomen, chest, as well as extremities can be
done on the stand provided that the patient is positioned accordingly and optimal exposure is used.

Paintings aren t as interesting as they used to be. Paintings became popular during the Renaissance era
(14th century 17th century). Artists express their thoughts and emotions through their paintings.
Paintings give off many messages, and the message someone receives correlates with their mindset.
For example, the painting of the Last Supper, if viewers don t have the mindset of a Christian then
they would think everyone is mad at the guy in the middle (Jesus). Paintings are all about perception
and what the viewers can take from the image mentally.
In the article Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals , Jib Fowles gives the meaning of affiliation in
advertisement. Fowles states, the need to associate with others is widely invoked in advertising (para.
18). Advertisers use this technique when they want the viewers to get involved. An artist may paint an
image of a happily married couple, and this may make a single man want to be affiliated with women.
Painters use this technique to bring people together.
Also, Fowles breaks down the need to escape in advertisement. Fowles claims that advertisement
gives the viewers the need to escape when we have a desire to duck out of our obligations (para. 52).
When life becomes too oppressive we tend to seek for freedom. Many advertisements will show an
image of people who is having the time of their life to try to target people who are at a low stage in
life. Artists use transcendentalism in their paintings that make people want to

The Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain On The Earth
The term acid rain refers to the atmospheric deposition of acidic constituents that impact the earth as
rain, snow, particulates, gases, and vapor. The bulk of the acidity in rain comes from the reaction of
sulfur dioxide (SO2) with hydrogen peroxide in clouds, a reaction that produces sulfuric acid. Even
though sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide occur in the air naturally, burning fossil fuels adds more of
these chemicals into to the air. When these pollutants are released into the air, they mix and react with
water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form acid rain. Acid rain then falls to the Earth where it can
damage plants, animals, soil, water, and building materials. The Air quality policies implemented in
North America and Europe in the recent decades and more recently in parts of Asia have resulted in
decreases in atmospheric Sulfur and Nitrogen deposition described in the previous section. These
policies were designed to minimize further harm from acid rain and to promote ecosystem recovery.
Regions that have been most affected by acidic deposition include Europe, eastern North America, and
Southeast Asia, especially central and southern China. Sulphur emissions have played the dominant
role in the acidic deposition in these regions.
In theory, airborne chemicals could cause several types of detrimental effects on aquatic or terrestrial
ecosystems. These effects could include visible symptoms of injury, decreased growth, and alteration
of physiological processes

Evolution Of Jazz And Blues. The Music Styles Of Jazz And
Evolution of Jazz and Blues The music styles of Jazz and Blues are both considered to be great
American musical art forms (Covach, 2015). These styles are also two very important roots of music
and have evolved from the late 19th century and early 20th century to lead to the development of
Rock and Roll. Jazz and Blues both originated from African American communities when slaves were
brought over to North America from Africa (Schuller, 1986). As time passed and the culture of
America was constantly changing, so was the music of that time period. The country was starting to
recover from slavery and many Caucasians and African Americans were beginning to emerge in the
music scene together. From the Blues era, we get artists like B.B. ... Show more content on

The Classic Blues were established by female vocalists like Ma Rainey, Mamie Smith, and Bessie
Smith (Ferris, 2009). The Urban Blues were basically the Delta Blues but enhanced with electric
guitars (Covach, 2015). This form of Blues helped to spark the Great Northern Migration. This
migration resulted in many African American musicians moving north to escape slavery and find
better jobs (Covach, 2015). A few of the artists that we get in the Blues genre are B.B. King, Muddy
Waters, and Bo Diddley (Ferris, 2009). These artists began producing music that followed the twelve
bar form and mimicked the call and response style of old field hollers (Covach, 2015). The Blues
paved the way for the up and coming form of the Jazz genre called Rhythm Blues and eventually it
will lead to the creation of Rock Roll. The Blues had an influence on many of the bands and artists in
the Rock Roll era. One of the most famous being The Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones are a British
band that rose to fame during the British Invasion in the United States (Covach, 2015). They have
referenced The Blues as being a huge influence if their music.

from African American communities in the South (Covach, 2015). One of the most famous places in

The Issue of Poverty As a Whole in Pakistan
Poverty and suffering is considered not out of the norm for many families in Pakistan. Many of them
have had to make enormous sacrifices in order to survive in these hard times. As seen in the previous
paragraph children who are to sacrifice their education to help the family during times of poverty, may
never really be able to receive an education later. For most families that are in the same situation like
Rafiq and his family, the basic necessities such as food and water that others take for granted are now
considered the highest priority in their lives. Though native born families are the ones who suffer the
most in poverty in Pakistan, there are also outsiders who suffer just as much. One example is the
children of Afghan refugees from Afghanistan. During the Afghan War, many families in that region
have been separated or killed during battles and abductions conducted by the terrorist group Al Qaeda.
This group has threatened almost virtually everyone in the country that if they don t listen and obey
their rules, they will have them executed or tortured. Thus, many families have packed their
belongings and have made long treks out of the war torn nation. Once, they come into Pakistan, they
expect their experience to be better than the one in Afghanistan. And to a certain extent, some of that
may be true. However, once they become integrated in the society, they realize that it is very hard to
find a place to work.
Afghan children are also put in the same situation

Otitis Media with Effusion Essay
Otitis Media with Effusion (OME) can be defined as, The presence of fluid in the middle ear without
signs or symptoms of acute ear infection (Pediatrics, 2004). It can be said that OME is an invisible
disorder, as there are no immediate signs or symptoms of an acute ear infection such as ear pain, fever,
or displeasure (Williamson, 2007). However, OME can have very significant consequences in the life
of a child. Early identification and monitoring of OME can combat against possible speech and
language delays, as well as protecting against further structural damage to the middle ear. From a
diagnostic standpoint, OME must be differentiated from Acute Otitis Media (AOM), as the
appropriate treatment will depend on if a child is suffering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

OME can also occur following an upper respiratory tract infection, as the anatomy of a child s middle
ear and eustachian tube are more horizontal, hindering the drainage of fluid and placing them at higher
risk for OME (Williamson, 2007). Other risk factors that make a child more prone to OME are
attending day care, bottle feeding in the supine position, secondhand smoke in the home, a lower
socioeconomic status, and having a large number of siblings (Williamson, 2007).
Given that Otitis Media with Effusion is mostly an invisible disorder without visible symptoms, it can
be difficult to identify in early stages. However, it is imperative that professionals and parents know
the signs and symptoms of such a prevalent ailment in children. The first sign that parents may notice
is that many children with OME fail to respond appropriately to voices or react to environmental
sounds as expected. Middle ear effusion can sometimes results in a conductive hearing loss of up to 50
dB (Boudewyns, et al. 2011), however hearing loss is not always suspected at first. Parents and/or
teachers may also notice that the child has poor attention problems and struggles academically.
Children with OME may also request that the television be turned up to very high levels, and also
have other audio equipment s volume much louder than necessary. Furthermore, children with OME
may suffer from balance problems and have

players to compete in the public arena attracts a great deal of attention to the game. Curiosity causes
people to investigate the game: if they join as watchers, they will likely want to share the game with

Human Construction Workers
Since the introduction to computers and the evolvment of them, humans are being replaced in all
industries including construction. In fifty years from now, human construction workers will be
drastically reduced or totally replaced. To once was thought of as science fiction, like CP30 and R2D2
from Star Wars, this has become our new reality. In researching the question, will computerized robots
replace human construciton workers? My answer is yes. In this paper, I will explain and demonstrate,
through my research, why I believe that computerized robots will be replaced by human construction
workers.
The industry has evolved from human hand drawn paper blueprints to computer generated blueprints
and home designs. For example, in certain fields they are using computer laser guided cutting systems
for granite glass and concrete. As far as the robotic end of it, we ve got remote controlled boom trucks
that lift materials. There are also concrete pump trucks that are remotely controlled to pour concrete.

John Venn Essay
Life of John Venn John Venn was born on August 4, 1834, in Hull, England. His parents were Martha
Sykes and Reverend Henry Venn. Unfortunately, Venn s mother died when he was only three years
old. Venn was brought up in a very strict home. His father had played a significant part in the
Evangelical movement and he was also the secretary of the Society for Missions to Africa and the
East. Venn started his education at Highgate with his brother Henry in September 1846. He later
moved to Islington proprietary school. He later earned his degree in mathematics in 1857 from
Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Having earned a fellowship there as well, Venn would
establish a long term career at his alma mater, becoming a lecturer in 1862 and being appointed
college president. He maintained that position for life. In 1859, following after his father s religious
tradition, Venn was ordained as a priest for the Church of England and did religious work for a short
time before returning to Caius College . In 1868, he married Susanna Carnegie Edmonstone with
whom he had one son, John Archibald Venn. He eventually resigned from the clergy in 1883, because
Anglicanism was incompatible with his philosophical beliefs. But he still remained involved in the
church. His most famous accomplishment was in 1866, writing The Logic of Chance, a
groundbreaking book that explained the frequency theory of probability. The Logic of Chance offered

1. Introduction
The report captures the findings and interface gaps on the current usage of Sun System, Actisure,
Medis and Ilanga systems compared to the potential benefits envisaged if medical receipting and
payments were done wholly under one core system i.e. Actisure.
This report puts forwards the justification for consolidating all the medical receipting and payments
processing into the core medical system, to improve the efficiency of operations and eliminate most of
the manual related processes in the current scenario. The Actisure Medical system already has the
accounting functionalities within itself, thus it will be beneficial to utilize these functions and

Shan Foods Mission Statement
Company Back ground
Shan Foods came into existence in 1981 when it began operations from a single room. Shan Masala as
it was back then, launched full range of spices to cater to local public, due to its popularity. Shan
started exporting after a few years due to increased international popularity. But after sometime, the
need to reposition the brand was felt. It needed to be repositioned as a food brand rather than a spice
brand. Re imaging the organization became necessary for re positioning of the brand; it was a job well
done and led to continued success of Shan on national and international fronts. Now, Shan Foods is

The Shan s strategic fit has been achieved. Shan realizing the importance of this fit left no stone
unturned to achieve it. They face certain challenges like highly demanding customers, low profit

They have strived hard to achieve this fit, though they have been successful in doing so. Looking at
the need of the market, identifying opportunity and adjusting according to the changing environment

Human resource management development and strategic management enhanced by simulation

Peter R.J. Trim
Department of Management, Birkbeck College, University of London, London, UK

to meet the challenges of the marketplace, senior management needs to ensure that an organisation

By thinking ahead, senior managers can implement a process that takes into account the strategic
thinking workshop approach put forward by Graetz, (2002, pp. 458 9). The advantage of this approach
will be realised when staff from around the world are brought together on a problem solving exercise.
It is also necessary to take into account the communicative skill gaps that exist and what type of
interpersonal skills are needed, and this is especially true in the ` context of decision making vis a vis
strategic alliances, for example (Trim and Lee, 2003). What needs to be understood, however, is how
individuals from different cultures relate to people from outside their cultural value system. The key
issues which surface are issues such as the appropriate way in which to communicate within the
organisation s hierarchy, and if necessary, how to communicate with government representatives.
Therefore, training and staff development personnel in international organisations need to identify
which ` type of simulation exercises will be most suitable for training staff vis a vis careers in an
international organisational setting. Human resource management specialists will, therefore, need to
develop staff development programmes that enable an individual employee to develop their skill base
continually. This means, according to Blunden (1997, p. 277), that an individual needs to develop an
ability to transfer his/her learning and skills from one situation to

Stereotypes In The Play Trifles
Cole Young
Dr. Rodgers
IDS 1213 11:15
April 17, 2015
The Stereotype of Gender Without relationships, writing would lack its luster, meaning, and feeling to
name a few of the items relationships bring into writing. Relationships are viewed as simple or
complex. For example, a husband and wife s relationship is easily spotted, but the more complex
relationships, such as the relationship between men and women and the stereotypes that come with
each gender, are only found after deeper examination. In the play Trifles by Susan Glaspell and the
play Oleanna by David Mamet, the two writers explore and explain the stereotypes associated with the
relationship of gender. In Trifles, Glaspell uses the stereotypes that women are only capable ... Show

Throughout the story, the men are always seen as laughing and not seeing situations as seriously as
they should. For example, the speech by the sheriff and county attorney describing the attorney is as
chuckingly and scoffingly. The men are not taking the situation seriously because they feel that it is
the women s fault for always troubling the male that this happened. Another example is when Mrs.
Hale questions Mrs. Wright on whether she is going to quilt or knot her fabric and the county attorney
and sheriff burst out laughing over what they believe is an idiotic question and occupation. The last
way the play shows how uncaring and insensitive the men are stereotyped to be is the fact that the
women are never addressed with a first name throughout the play. The women are always referred to
as the wife of their husband or introduced by their husband s last name. All the men address each other
with even their first name or their full name, but when it comes to women, the men believe they must
show their dominance and addresses them with their last

Malware Problem Analysis Paper
Problem
Malware, as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, refers to a program that is
covertly inserted into another program with the intent to destroy data, run destructive or intrusive
programs, or otherwise compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of the victim s data,
applications or operating system. (M. K., 2013) This is a threat to all companies with any type of
internet access and/or electronic information storage. That is currently a large number of both small
and big businesses.
Some important terms to take into account here is confidentiality, integrity and availability. These
terms are known as CIA and are the core principles of information security. Malware will affect all
three indefinitely if left unchecked. This will not only hurt a company s revenue but will potentially
also hurt their reputation if wide scale enough. Malware is, by Gulf South Tech Solutions, considered
to be the biggest threat to a business. With over 5,000 new malware attacks every day, the average
time to resolve being over 25 days, the average financial cost being $3 million, and over 60% of the
websites that infect a computer being legitimate sites that were compromised makes defense of
paramount importance now more than ever. (Gulf South Technology Solutions, 2015)
Solution
The fix to the Malware problem is the implementation of the NIST SP 800 83 regulation. It covers all
aspects of malware handling and will assist in mitigating the

Taylorism or Scientific Management Principles at Ford...
The central theme of this essay will deal with the role of Taylorism or scientific management in a
specific organization. The primary focus will be to critically discuss how the various methods of
scientific management are applicable to the chosen organization, which in this case will be Ford
Motors. The essay will describe F.W. Taylor s early work life and techniques of scientific management
and its success. It will then go on to discuss the production methods at Ford Motors prior and post the
application of the management principles along with their benefits and criticisms.

This would not only be advantageous for the employer but also the employee since it would result in
higher wages. Due to this, the worker s level of motivation and drive to do better would escalate
leading to overall productivity of the organization (Salimath and Jones, 2011, p.88).
Taylor furthermore emphasized on this method as it reduced the time taken between each activity
since each worker was limited to doing a precise task. Thus, the worker was able to complete the job
in the least possible time and reduce wastage. Along with improved efficiency, Taylor used scientific
management techniques to make sure proper utilization of resources is taking place and wastage is
being kept to a minimum (Salimath and Jones, 2011, pp. 85 86).
Taylorism can be seen as an evident feature in several production based industries especially
organizations specializing in automotive manufacturing. One of the key practitioners of Taylor s
management principles was Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company.
Initially at Ford motors, production used to take place by keeping the vehicle at one position and
making the workers move in and about gathering the several parts together. This method unfortunately
was a very tedious and time consuming process. In view of this fact, Henry Ford appointed Taylor to
monitor the operations taking place. Ford applied the scientific management

deeper into the various sub sectors to determine where I fit best, which led to the revision of my ninth
goal (see Appendix B) to include the goal of better understanding my desired role in the clean energy
industry and the necessary steps to achieve these ambitions. In addition, I wanted to enhance my
skillset which include interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and complete the
internship with a range of new skills. Through my position, I was fortunate enough to have many
professional development experiences, which led to networking, outreach and leading and organizing

achieving your goals. This led to revision of my seventh goal to include networking and outreach as
the desired skills I received. These two professional goals are reflective of what I hope to achieve in
the future and hence why I took on my current internship.

Does Matav s international expansion plans make sense? Why?
YES
Rational expansion experience with the success of MakTel made Matav as a local expertise in
Southern Europe: Matav transferred its knowledge of a financial control system, professional
regulatory management and tariff packages to rebalance fixed line fees . Maktel increased the number
of fixed lines by 21 percent from 2000 to 2003 and mobile subscribers were five times higher in 2003

Illegal or Legal Children Children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants should not become U.S.

citizen. Without having a job she either has to obtain one illegally or get on welfare. The government
will provide low income housing, food stamps and free medical attention for her baby. About $500
million is now spent each year on providing the assistance, according to state officials. Not only are
we providing for the child we are also providing for the mother as well. Diversity contributes to
cultural enrichment. Many people support the law that children born to illegal immigrants should have
citizenship. The children are citizens by law according to the 14th amendment. This states all citizens
born in the U.S. have citizenship. The children born to illegal immigrants should have a right to have a
good life free from poverty and a good education. They are U.S. citizens according to the law. In many
aspects it is okay for that child to receive government assistance. I think the laws are unfair to these
children. The child should have a right to pursue his life as an American citizen. Many people want us
to believe that by punishing children, our nation s immigration problems will somehow magically
disappear. Unfortunately, absolutely no evidence exists that supports these claims. Families must
choose between splitting up, resulting in more single parent households and psychological and
financial hardship, or forcing their U.S. citizen children into deportation with them. These American

The Dimensions Of Mental Health
Life In life there is many things that could happen. Things that catch your attention, going to
wonderful places, and to be playing in a professional. It all goes forever but there is one thing that you
have to be aware of. The things we do to ourselves as to other people, and it all starts with our own
health, to living longer, and all the way to making decisions. These are the things to have a great life
and to be successful, and if you keep on reading, you will find out the things that will get you there.
Dimensions of Health In life, there is something called psychosocial health. There are many
dimensions to this health, but I am going to explain four of them. The first dimension is Mental
Health, and this is the thinking part of psychosocial health. This part is where you have the ability to
do many things as to solve problems, interpret, to sense, perceive, and to also evaluate what is
happening. The next dimension is Emotional Health, this is the part where you feel love, hate, joy,
anxiety, and sustains borderline emotions such as hope and care. Also, it carries emotions that result
from harm, loss, but also from benefits. There is another dimension called Spiritual Health, which is
the part that describes the mean and purpose of life. It is the part that contains your music, nature, and
the belief of your religion. The last type of dimensional health is Social Health, this type of health is

A Brave New World by Aldoux Huxley
Imagine that by taking one magic pill, you could be at the top of your world. With one pill, you could
find complete happiness and unmatched physical fulfillment. In his novel, Brave New World, Aldous
Huxley uses the drug Soma, to give the characters all of the benefits of fulfillment, both physically
and spiritually, yet ironically, as the drug plays out its role, the fulfillment leaves its consumer empty.
The drug, Soma, is used almost a comically large amount, as the characters take a gramme anytime
they feel like an uncomfortable situation is approaching. In Chapter 3, Henry Foster forcefully
pressures Bernard Marx into taking Soma, All the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of
their defects (Huxley 54). Preceding this, it was agreed by a few of the characters that Marx was
looking glum. It was being explained to him how this perfect drug was engineered and it was
described as euphoric, narcotic, and pleasantly hallucinant. Take a holiday from reality whenever you
like, and come back without so much as a headache or a mythology (Huxley 54). Soma gives you the
joy that you would experience through Christianity, or possibly by being drunk, though it only lasts
while you are high. Once they come down from the effects of drug, they don t have any of the
symptoms of a hangover, but they return back to the sad, controlled lifestyle that makes them want to
take Soma in the first place. If the characters are not on Soma, they are just as brainless, if not more

The Creators Of Salt Of The Earth
The creators of Salt of the Earth had a consciousness of radical activism (Aptheker 2015). Paul
Jarrico, Michael Wilson, and Herbert J. Biberman made connections between the Cold War anti union
sentiment and what was happening in the lives of the community at Hanover, New Mexico (Balthasar
353). Salt fuses the antiracist, anti imperialist sensibility...with the central popular front icon and
narrative form the strike tale. In this sense Salt is not simply an expansion of a 1930s political
aesthetic; it is the fulfillment of it (Balthasar 356). This included thinking about how different forms
of oppression impact people. Their final film implicitly critiques the United States imperialist policies
and treatment of minority groups (Balthasar 355), a dangerous move in the era of high tensions due to
the red scare. This, along with affiliations with the Hollywood Anti Nazi League (HANL) made them
targets of the United States government (Balthasar 354). Their careers had been destroyed, since no
one wanted to make themselves a target of the U.S. by being friendly with people that were accused of
being communists, and their film was blacklisted. The leading actress, Rosaura Revualtas, who had
already radically starred in what is recognized as the first lesbian film (Aptheker), also faced
punishment for starring in Salt. Though she was here legally, participation in the film was grounds for
her deportation. Furthermore, she was banned from acting in Mexico (Aptheker). Clint

M1: to achieve the merit analyse your findings
My two retailers that I have chosen are Primark, which are a department store, and JD sports which
are a franchise. These two retailers have both their advantages and disadvantages individually as
retailers and it is my task to explain and point out these advantages and disadvantages.
Primark is a department store, a department store characteristic features include * Large scale retail
stores * More than one department under one roof * Each department specialises in a particular kind
of trade * They are located in the important central places of the big cities
They follow a basic principal; it is easier to sell more goods to the same ... Show more content on

Hence, one department advertises for the other. A departmental store advertises on a large scale saving
in advertising costs.
Large volume of sales:
Because of the size of a department store like Primark they make a larger sales increasing the profit
Primark makes and reducing
Disadvantages of a department store like Primark:
Distance:
As department stores are generally located in central parts of a city it is quite difficult to reach those
areas if you don t like within the area.
High cost of operations:
The cost of doing business as a department store is very high because of high rent, salaries to staff and
to spend money on multiple goods that they supply.
Difficult to Establish:
The departmental stores require a large amount of initial capital investment and a number of
specialised persons for their establishment.
Lack of Co ordination:
There is a tendency of developing unhealthy competition between the departments. The control and
effective supervision of various departments is also difficult.

Essay On Plantation Mistresses
A cannot be correct, because the plantation mistress life was quite the opposite of idle leisure. A
plantation mistress is in charge of supervising the domestic household. Her duties include: managing
the supply and preparation of food for the household, taking care of the linens, other housecleaning,
administering care to the sick, along with raising her children, and other such chores. One plantation
mistress, Mary Boykin Chesnut, observed that there is not slave like a wife. Only the wealthiest
planter s wives had significant leisure time. The majority of plantation mistresses were far from idle.
B is incorrect, because plantation mistresses being subordinate to their husbands were the prevailing
social order. Some of them may have gossiped and shared their complaints amongst other mistresses
about their problems with the patriarch system and the mulatto children that appear with their
husbands features as a result, but they seldom publically challenged this social dynamic. The thought
of any boisterous opposition to the social order or racial climate would likely be dismissed by a ...

The men in plantation society, however, were socially allowed to follow a code of self indulgence,
especially when it came to their lust. While the plantation mistresses faithfully raised their husbands
children, they would also have to put up with their husbands taking pleasure in raping and
impregnating the slave women. Many slave holding families attended church and the mistresses often
subtly hoped the sermons would council their husbands into being faithful. The sermons, however,
often supported the double standard so deeply entrenched in the Old South. Slave women were seen as
property and if the planter wanted to impregnate her that was his perfectly moral prerogative.
Plantation mistresses lived with that double

How Did Kraar Build Love On The B-Line Plot
Sarah Barbeau
Mrs. Love Hilliard
Creative Writing
25 January 2017
Love on the B Line Playwriting is made up of three simple ingredients that make up a delicious recipe
for entertainment. The structure/plot of a play, the characters, and the dialogue from these characters
are all essential parts of a play that make it possible to perform. A play must have each of these
ingredients in order to be a successful treat to its audience. Love on the B Line by Adam Kraar excels
at using the main ingredients in order to make the delicious (literature) piece. The plot of Kraar s play
demonstrates an odd couple reminiscing about their relationship while at their favorite stop along a
train route. Kraar s imagination to create such quirky characters helped ... Show more content on

Through dialogue, you can learn more about a character through what they say. The dialogue from
Love on the B Line is quite believable because it is similar to conversations heard from other couples
in other writings. Robbie questions, It s 2 A.M. You think I m going to let you go home alone? (Kraar
316). The couple s conversation with each other heighten their conflict by reintroducing the issue
numerous times within multiple instances. All Robbie wants is for Marie to stay the night but Marie
refuses because her cat has yet to be fed. Marie often introduces and reintroduces backstory with the
dialogue of her character. She tends to repeat events that had already passed to distract Robbie from
thinking about the present. Marie and Robbie share a common bond within their dialogue that keeps
the audience on edge for what s next. Within the dialogue of the play, the actions of each character
steadily move, creating more entertainment for the audience. From both Robbie and Marie, the
verisimilitude of the play is high because of the realistic actions and thoughts that come within both

The Pros And Cons Of Cannibalism
As a human being, convincing a cannibal chieftain that I am not going to taste good for their dinner, is
actually a complicated situation to consider. Cannibalism is surprisingly not against the United States
law. It is misperceived that cannibalism is illegal. In reality, the reason why cannibalism is seen as
revolting is because of the thought of a person eating the flesh of another person. Cannibalism is seen
by people just like haggis and liver is seen as revolting to most people. When it comes to ethics, there
are different components that would claim the cannibal eating me is morally unacceptable. This can be
compared to killing another human being for no reason. Both of these cases contain the same common
thought that killing people no matter what the circumstance is morally incorrect. The majority of
society believes that cannibalism and homicide are both incorrect. This thought comes from three
views. The three views that can be used to describe if an action is morally correct are, the natural law
theory, relativism, and moral objectivism. These three views are looked at individually and not used
together. The natural law of theory deals with reasoning deduced from the nature of humanity
throughout society. Relativism deals with reasoning that is deduced within a certain culture. Moral
objectivism deals with reasoning deduced from universal morality. Cannibalism is not always seen as
incorrect in all societies. Some societies see cannibalism as a valid activity.

  • 4. High Stakes Testing In Schools Summary Summary This article discusses the various effects that high stakes testing has on different schools throughout the country. This article focuses mainly on the negative aspects regarding high stakes testing; however, the article also has a few positive aspects regarding high stakes testing as well. A few examples of effects that occurs with high stakes testing are things such as the following: cheating (in many different forms), misinterpretation and misrepresentation, pressure amongst students and faculty, as well as many other examples. This article discusses how not only the students were being caught cheating, but the teachers and even the administration in the school. Most of the staff would just turn their head and overlook the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were some interesting points that were made throughout the article, some that I totally agree with and some that were very surprising to me. One of the main points discussed is how the pressure is steadily rising among students to have the best scores as they possibly can on the tests. With an incline in technological advances, students have more accessibility to sources that can be very beneficial to them at the time. However, it can also lead to be very dangerous and consequential to them. I am sort of indecisive about high stakes testing. I agree with high stakes testing in the sense that it prepares students for college, enhances their test taking skills, and assesses their learning. On the other hand, is it really worth stressing students and teachers out to the max when it is just a test? Is this perfection that students strive so hard for leading to cheating so that they can have the better score than the others? I believe that schools in general should focus on the achievement of students instead of the number that they scored on a test that they took. Some schools even go as far as cutting subjects such as history, art, music, and geography out of the curriculum because they are not important. Another main topic in this article was teaching to the test. We discussed in lecture, Is it really teaching to the test if you are teaching the material, and it just happens to be covered on the test? The answer was no. I don t agree with teaching to the test. I think students should know more information than what is just going to be on the test. There is a fine line between teaching to the test and actually teaching the test itself. The most surprising information in this article to me was that approximately forty percent of teachers either gave students hints, encouraged them to change their answers on the test, allocated the students more time for the tests or simply taught ... We have already seen the invention of so much technology to get us where we are today, whether that be the Gutenberg Press or Apple s Macintosh Computer. The future of design shows no signs of mercy in terms of slowing down, but just what does the future have in store? Before we can think about the future, we must first understand the past. Design can be dated back as far as pre historic times through the Lascaux Cave Paintings. Done over 200,000 years ago, it is the earliest known example of writing. It would later be discovered as a form of communications. The Egyptian culture utilized design in their Book of the Deads. Each book was made to include passwords, and spells to help those you have passed away in their afterlife. It would be until the Chinese civilization, and all their world changing inventions, where we would see an emergence of the printing process. Identity produces consciousness of action and becomes formalized, with symbolic character and recognition found within specific limitations that are confined in a particular environment (Montserrat 10). This means that it would be almost physically impossible for the Axis to defeat the Allies. Strategic Bombing: What do the websites say about the effectiveness of bombing campaigns in disrupting the war effort of the Axis during WWII? According to the majority of the information on the websites, the bombing campaigns put in place by the Allies were not very effective. This was done by instead of fully wiping out cities, leaving them only half damaged to show the power of the armies. However, these bombings did little to no damage to the will of Germans. Artists express their thoughts and emotions through their paintings. Paintings give off many messages, and the message someone receives correlates with their mindset. For example, the painting of the Last Supper, if viewers don t have the mindset of a Christian then they would think everyone is mad at the guy in the middle (Jesus). Paintings are all about perception and what the viewers can take from the image mentally. In the article Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals , Jib Fowles gives the meaning of affiliation in advertisement. Fowles states, the need to associate with others is widely invoked in advertising (para. 18). Advertisers use this technique when they want the viewers to get involved. An artist may paint an image of a happily married couple, and this may make a single man want to be affiliated with women. Painters use this technique to bring people together. Also, Fowles breaks down the need to escape in advertisement. Fowles claims that advertisement gives the viewers the need to escape when we have a desire to duck out of our obligations (para. 52). When life becomes too oppressive we tend to seek for freedom. • 16. The Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain On The Earth The term acid rain refers to the atmospheric deposition of acidic constituents that impact the earth as rain, snow, particulates, gases, and vapor. The bulk of the acidity in rain comes from the reaction of sulfur dioxide (SO2) with hydrogen peroxide in clouds, a reaction that produces sulfuric acid. Even though sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide occur in the air naturally, burning fossil fuels adds more of these chemicals into to the air. When these pollutants are released into the air, they mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form acid rain. Acid rain then falls to the Earth where it can damage plants, animals, soil, water, and building materials. The Air quality policies implemented in North America and Europe in the recent decades and more recently in parts of Asia have resulted in decreases in atmospheric Sulfur and Nitrogen deposition described in the previous section. These policies were designed to minimize further harm from acid rain and to promote ecosystem recovery. Regions that have been most affected by acidic deposition include Europe, eastern North America, and Southeast Asia, especially central and southern China. Sulphur emissions have played the dominant role in the acidic deposition in these regions. In theory, airborne chemicals could cause several types of detrimental effects on aquatic or terrestrial ecosystems. Jazz and Blues both originated from African American communities when slaves were brought over to North America from Africa (Schuller, 1986). This migration resulted in many African American musicians moving north to escape slavery and find better jobs (Covach, 2015). A few of the artists that we get in the Blues genre are B.B. Many of them have had to make enormous sacrifices in order to survive in these hard times. For most families that are in the same situation like Rafiq and his family, the basic necessities such as food and water that others take for granted are now considered the highest priority in their lives. Though native born families are the ones who suffer the most in poverty in Pakistan, there are also outsiders who suffer just as much. One example is the children of Afghan refugees from Afghanistan. During the Afghan War, many families in that region have been separated or killed during battles and abductions conducted by the terrorist group Al Qaeda. This group has threatened almost virtually everyone in the country that if they don t listen and obey their rules, they will have them executed or tortured. Thus, many families have packed their belongings and have made long treks out of the war torn nation. Once, they come into Pakistan, they expect their experience to be better than the one in Afghanistan. And to a certain extent, some of that may be true. The advantage of this approach will be realised when staff from around the world are brought together on a problem solving exercise. It is also necessary to take into account the communicative skill gaps that exist and what type of interpersonal skills are needed, and this is especially true in the ` context of decision making vis a vis strategic alliances, for example (Trim and Lee, 2003). What needs to be understood, however, is how individuals from different cultures relate to people from outside their cultural value system. The key issues which surface are issues such as the appropriate way in which to communicate within the organisation s hierarchy, and if necessary, how to communicate with government representatives. Therefore, training and staff development personnel in international organisations need to identify which ` type of simulation exercises will be most suitable for training staff vis a vis careers in an international organisational setting. Human resource management specialists will, therefore, need to develop staff development programmes that enable an individual employee to develop their skill base continually. Due to this, the worker s level of motivation and drive to do better would escalate leading to overall productivity of the organization (Salimath and Jones, 2011, p.88). Taylor furthermore emphasized on this method as it reduced the time taken between each activity since each worker was limited to doing a precise task. Thus, the worker was able to complete the job in the least possible time and reduce wastage. Along with improved efficiency, Taylor used scientific management techniques to make sure proper utilization of resources is taking place and wastage is being kept to a minimum (Salimath and Jones, 2011, pp. 85 86). Taylorism can be seen as an evident feature in several production based industries especially organizations specializing in automotive manufacturing. One of the key practitioners of Taylor s management principles was Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company. Initially at Ford motors, production used to take place by keeping the vehicle at one position and making the workers move in and about gathering the several parts together. A plantation mistress is in charge of supervising the domestic household. Her duties include: managing the supply and preparation of food for the household, taking care of the linens, other housecleaning, administering care to the sick, along with raising her children, and other such chores. One plantation mistress, Mary Boykin Chesnut, observed that there is not slave like a wife. Only the wealthiest planter s wives had significant leisure time. The majority of plantation mistresses were far from idle. B is incorrect, because plantation mistresses being subordinate to their husbands were the prevailing social order. Some of them may have gossiped and shared their complaints amongst other mistresses about their problems with the patriarch system and the mulatto children that appear with their husbands features as a result, but they seldom publically challenged this social dynamic. The thought of any boisterous opposition to the social order or racial climate would likely be dismissed by a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The men in plantation society, however, were socially allowed to follow a code of self indulgence, especially when it came to their lust. While the plantation mistresses faithfully raised their husbands children, they would also have to put up with their husbands taking pleasure in raping and impregnating the slave women. Many slave holding families attended church and the mistresses often subtly hoped the sermons would council their husbands into being faithful. Slave women were seen as property and if the planter wanted to impregnate her that was his perfectly moral prerogative. Plantation mistresses lived with that double ... The dialogue from Love on the B Line is quite believable because it is similar to conversations heard from other couples in other writings. Robbie questions, It s 2 A.M. Cannibalism is surprisingly not against the United States law. It is misperceived that cannibalism is illegal. In reality, the reason why cannibalism is seen as revolting is because of the thought of a person eating the flesh of another person. Cannibalism is seen by people just like haggis and liver is seen as revolting to most people. When it comes to ethics, there are different components that would claim the cannibal eating me is morally unacceptable. This can be compared to killing another human being for no reason. Both of these cases contain the same common thought that killing people no matter what the circumstance is morally incorrect. The majority of society believes that cannibalism and homicide are both incorrect. This thought comes from three views. The three views that can be used to describe if an action is morally correct are, the natural law theory, relativism, and moral objectivism. These three views are looked at individually and not used together. The natural law of theory deals with reasoning deduced from the nature of humanity throughout society. Relativism deals with reasoning that is deduced within a certain culture. Moral objectivism deals with reasoning deduced from universal morality. Cannibalism is not always seen as incorrect in all societies. Some societies see cannibalism as a valid activity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
