Research on fonts
1. Lucida Handwriting
Brush Script M7
The people who researched these fonts found them to be likable, warm, attractive,
interesting, emotional, feminine, and delicate. Therefore they would not really be
associated with the convention of thriller, meaning that I wish not to use them on
my poster.
Playbill
Stencil
Interesting, emotional, exciting, and innovative" were the characteristic associated
with fonts like these. Negative qualities included "unsettling and unfamiliar." I
believe that these could be potential fonts due to the fact that they are unsettling,
linking to Thriller conventions as they are often unsettling, creepy and psychological.
Onyx
Haettenschweiler
People see these fonts as being cold, unattractive, uninteresting, and unemotional.
Apart from the fact that they are thought to be uninteresting and unattractive, I
believe that this could be used for a thriller poster as it is deemed as being cold,
linking to thriller conventions once more as they are sometimes deemed as being
cold.
Although these fonts may be suitable, I intend to find another font for both my
poster and front cover. It will be scary, relating to the conventions of a thriller, and
mysterious as thrillers possess an air of mysterious due them being psychological.
