Analysis of Chapter 3 of Kurth Vonnegut s Slaughter House...
In this essay I will be stylistically analysing an extract from Chapter 3 of Kurt Vonnegut s novel;
Slaughterhouse Five. I am particularly interested in the effects different perspectives have
throughout my extract, as well as the effects of the narrative structure and if it conforms or diverges
from the typical models of narrativestructure. I am also going to be analysing the characterisation
of different figures in my extract and the impressions these give on the characters. I will also be
looking at how dialogue is represented and the overall effects of different devices. I am expecting
to find that Vonnegut uses a mixture of different perspectives throughout which may be difficult to
extract from each other. I also expect to find... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In doing so, this suggests that even though he is of a higher rank than them they don t see him this
way and see no need to pay attention to him. Bob would be therefore losing his higher status and is
trying to regain it by delivering an influential speech.
During the dialogue between Wild Bob and Billy it is important to note the act of turn taking. As
Billy withholds participation, Bob is forced to speak again, meaning that turn taking is not
fulfilled here. This gives the impression that Billy is a weak character who isn t really aware of the
situation and appears to have little knowledge about the topic. Billy couldn t remember the outfit he
was from (Vonnegut 1969: 55).
As Bob speaks for longer, and has a lot more turns in the conversation than Billy it shows that he in
charge of the soldiers and his status is evident through this conversation. He also controls the topic
of the conversation. Again, this displays that despite his physical and mental health he is still a
strong, sure and higher status soldier than Billy and it is evident that Billy recognises this.
Next I will discuss the characterisation throughout my extract. Firstly I will consider how thought is
represented. The main representation of thought that the narrator uses is indirect though. This can
be seen firstly where the narrator reports on what Roland Weary is thinking All Weary could think
about was the agony in his own feet (Vonnegut 1969: 55). This type of

Amelia patted him on the shoulder You re aces kid and you know it. Tell them! It seemed to be

Zoom Car Company Essay
Case Example D
The main legal issues that have come about from this case are very important for many reasons.
Zoom Car Company is being sued on part of Daniel Boone for them to pay for his medical
expenses resulting from being dragged from his car and being beaten. The reason behind this is his
compass that was installed in his car by Zoom Car Company was faulty which lead him in the
wrong direction where he got lost and ended up in a horrible situation. Daniel Boone is suing for
his medical bills to be paid by the company of the faulty feature the car offered when it was
bought. Who should be responsible for Daniel Boone s medical bills? As the plaintiff he argues
that Zoom Car Company should be responsible for his medical bills ... Show more content on

The defendant s argument is they shouldn t be responsible for Daniel Boone s incident because
Corrigan Rulers were the ones who manufactured the compass and they should be held
responsible for the cost of medical bills and for any other damages. Zoom Car Company believes
it is a superseding event, the defendant isn t liable for injuries caused by such events for which
he or she is not responsible (108). Which would mean the company can only be held responsible
for the faulty compass that was installed in the car not the actions that took place after the fact of
where he ended up. It is also possible that Daniel didn t know how to use the compass, which
would result in him being held accountable under these circumstances. Nothing is certain on who
is responsible for the compass to not work effectively. If there is sufficient proof of the compass
not working when the car was purchased it will put them at fault. But if the plaintiff, Daniel
Boone, somehow broke the compass after the purchase of the car then he could be held
responsible for his actions and would therefore have to pay for his medical bills. For a seller to
be held strictly liable, the product it sells must reach the consumer or user without substantial
change in its condition (129). If the company, Corrigan Rulers, can somehow prove that the
compass was in perfect condition when delivered to Zoom Car Company they will no longer be
held responsible for the medical bills. If I was the judge on

Aryan Paragraph
Introduction The German population were active participants in the persecution and eventual
execution of the Jewish people during the Holocaust. The government did this by slowly creating
the enemy, controlling the enemy, separating the enemy and then initiating what is now known as
the final solution. Paragraph 1: Creating the Enemy Following the Nazi Seizure of Power in 1933,
Hitler built up a Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda headed by Joseph
Goebbels. The Ministry s point was to guarantee that the Nazi message was effectively imparted
through workmanship, music, theatre, films, books, radio, instructive materials, and the press. The
primary flood of enactment, from 1933 to 1934, concentrated to a great extent on restricting... Show

The laws barred German Jews from Reich citizenship and restricted them from wedding or
having sexual relations with people of German or related blood. Ancillary statutes to the laws
disappointed Jews and denied them of most political rights. The Nuremberg Laws, as they
wound up known, did not characterize a Jew as somebody with specific religious convictions.
Rather, any individual who had three or four Jewish grandparents was characterized as a Jew,
paying little mind to whether that individual distinguished himself or herself as a Jew or had a
place with the Jewish religious group. Numerous Germans who had not practised Judaism for
quite a long time got themselves captured in the grasp of Nazi hatred. Indeed, even individuals
with Jewish grandparents who had changed over to Christianity were characterized as Jews. The
motivation behind the Nuremberg Laws was to totally isolate the Jewish populace by never again
thinking about them as a religious gathering however as a race, they did this by putting facial
highlights to the race . This implied the isolation and control of the Jewish populace would be
considerably simpler to complete and execute. Ordinary residents, energized to some degree by
Goebbels hostile to Semitic purposeful publicity, bolstered the Nuremberg Laws and partook in
unconstrained shows

Successful Dating Advice
One of the most common pieces of dating advice women receive is to play hard to get. A search
of the phrase alone yields over 940 million results on Google. Each link will take a reader to tips
on how to play hard to get in order to attract men. According to this advice, woman should not
come off as overzealous, appearing needy, and to be as ambiguous as possible when talking to a
potential mate in order to appear more mysterious, all in the hopes that the mate will find the woman
more attractive and desirable. The popular dating website eHarmony equates playing hard to get
with self worth, and encourages women to do so to in order to increase their chances of a

We liked to be liked so much so that we tend to like those who we know like us more than those
whose feelings about us are unknown (Aronson et al., 2013). In an experiment conducted by
Gold, Ryckman, and Mosley (1984) when a female showed interest in male participants, these
participants reported liking this woman despite there being disagreements between the participant
and the female on different important issues. It appears that the woman conveying her interest to
the males was enough to increase their liking of her (Aronson et al., 2013). When a woman
plays hard to get, however, she conveys the message that she has little or no interest in the male.
By ignoring his phone calls, not agreeing to plans, or acting mysteriously during conversation
portrays that the female is not interested which may in turn cause the male to like her less.
According to reciprocal liking, the best way to attract a male would be to express interest in him.
Simply telling a man that you are attracted to him should increase the amount he likes you back.
Again, we like to be liked and seek out those who like us, therefore playing hard to get would not
be smart dating advice according to this

The Regime Of The 1905 Revolution
It is evident that Nicholas II was mainly to blame for the 1905, due to his lack of response to the
growing discontent amongst the Russian people. Although it could be argued that the actions of
previous Tsars were the cause of this discontent, and this was certainly influential, Nicholas failure
to act upon his people s requests was ultimately the cause of the revolution.
The repressive Tsarist system in place in 1905 was arguably one of the most significant factors in
the 1905 revolution, as much of the discontent in Russia was due to anger at Nicholas autocratic
Tsarist government. It could be argued that the repressive Tsarist system was not the fault of
Nicholas II, but instead a problem that had been in existence for decades before his reign began.
For example, Nicholas predecessor Alexander III was also committed to the preservation of the
autocracy, and arguably took steps towards repression, through Russification and censorship, in
addition to the introduction of the Okhrana. Therefore, it could be argued that Nicholas was not to
blame for the repressive Tsarist system or its consequences, due to the fact that it had been in
existence before his reign began.
However, as Nicholas did little to stop the government being so repressive, it could be argued that
he was still to blame. Despite widespread calls for reform from individuals such as Father Gapon,
these requests were not acted upon, so in some ways Nicholas II can be held to account for the

A Dream Of Passion By Euripides Medea And Apollonius s...
The character Medea is a well known character throughout Greek culture due to Euripides s Medea
and Apollonius s Argonautika. Jules Dassin s A Dream of Passion presents the story of Medea in a
modern way, allowing myth and reality to intertwine. Because the film is based on the myth, the
two main characters in the film, Maya and Brenda, share many qualities to Medea, such as killing of
their children. Common themes, such as the position of women in society, are also presented in
both mediums. These similarities show that Euripides and Dassin are conveying the same ideas
using different methods.
As stated in the paragraph above, Maya has a lot in common with Medea. However, we do not see
that until later in the movie. She originally starts off as a character who is very unlike Medea. She
does not understand the passion of Medea. Kostas, the director, asks her to repeat Okay. My
director, my love. When she does, her love does not come across and this frustrates him.
According to Kostas, No love is no passion and no passion is no Medea. At this point, we already
see the differences between Maya and Medea. Early in the film, Maya claimed that she would
rather go to battle than to give birth to a child. It is evident she wants to focus on acting, hoping to
revive her career. She seems to care only about her image; she demands the costume designer to
pick out costumes that make her look younger. Furthermore, when suggested that she visit Brenda
to better understand Medea, she

responsible in apprehending individuals illegally entering the country as well as those with a
criminal record. It is accountable for stemming the flow of illegal drugs and other contraband,
protecting United States agricultural and economic interests from harmful pests and diseases, and
protecting American businesses from intellectual property theft. As the world s first full service

Reflection About Sports
My life has consisted of many sports. Sports has been a part of my life for a while now every
since I can remember. The sports I played throughout the years has been baseball, football, soccer,
and I ran track. Throughout the years I played these sports has been some challenging times and
injuries that have happened to me.
Injuries and challenges always have an impact on a athletes abilities and there physical and mental
wanting to keep on playing. One challenge I had playing some of these sports is the coaches. Some
coaches you have through your high school or athletic career will help you and assist you. One
coach I had for track was the total opposite of that, instead of helping us, all she would do is
criticize everything that a person would do wrong and ignore the team if they had questions.
She wouldn t help us resolve our problem and I found that as a challenge for me because if I
needed help on some tips for running, she would not help. How I responded to this situation is
by talking to her about the ways she coaches. She didn t respond very well to what I had to say
but at least I stood up and said something. She learned that I didn t like how she was coaching and
that s how I resolved my situation with her. Many individuals tend to become uninterested,
uncommitted, and unmotivated for many reasons. The reasons they have could be resolved very
easily. Some of the reasons I have heard throughout the years is that the training is too hard.
Training is supposed to be hard, you aren t going to be the best unless you train hard. Another
complaint I have heard is that the coaches are mean. Some coaches are mean and some coaches are
mean for a reason. Some coaches that is the only way they know. Pushing athletes to the wall has
been a coaching thought for many years and most coaches I had, went by that mindset. The last
reason I think people become uninterested in sports or physical activity is that there not getting any
results. The fact of the matter is; it is not just working out that s going to get you the results. There
are many factors that go into progressing and getting that result you want. Your diet has a lot to do
with getting that result so you got to make sure you are eating right. Ways that

The American Public Education System
There are many problems in the American public education system today. Some of those include
the quality of teachers, who have no real passion for the job, and are only allowed to remain in the
position because of tenure privileges. Another issue is the state budgets that are allowed for public
schools, with some states investing billions of dollars, and others prioritizing it lower on the list. In
hot debate today is standardized testing, and the negative effect that it has on high schooleducation,
with the limits it places on teachers and what they have time to teach in the classrooms. One of the
biggest problems in the American public education system is the lack of a common standard for
what students should be learning, and when they should learn it. In other words, the inequality of
curriculums across the nation is affecting the preparedness of students when they venture out
beyond the public school system, for the worst. The way to fix this problem, according to many
teachers, administrators, and politicians, is by implementing a common curriculum across the
nation that will ensure that the quality of a student s education is not determined by where they
happen to live. The Common Core State Standard curriculum is the solution to the unequal
education problem in public schools. The purpose of the CCSS is to set goals for each grade level,
so that each student, parent, and teacher knows what the student is expected to leave the grade
knowing, and what they

Black September Organization Research Paper
When discussing the notoriety Black September one needs to first identify what is Black
September. Black September Organization (BSO), also called Arabic AylЕ«l al Aswad, was a
militant faction that broke away from the Palestinian organization Fatah. The name BSO also
comes from September of 1970 when the King of Jordan King Hussein who declared military rule,

The members of the BLO threatened King Hussein s rule, by revenging the deaths of Palestinians
that were killed. The death of the last charismatic leader of the Fedayeen, Abu Ali Iyad was

of the Israeli Olympic team were killed. Five members of the BSO and one German police officer
were also killed. In response Israel declared war on the BLO for their actions at the Munich
Olympics in Germany. Israel s retaliatory acts killed hundreds of people at Palestinian refugee
camps in Lebanon and Syria most of whom had no affiliation with the BLO. The attacks built
great tension between Israel and the neighboring countries, which lead to further military conflict.
The BLO dissolved from the PLO in the fall of 1973 and acts of violence were no longer condoned
outside Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
In conclusion the notoriety of Black September Organization a militant faction that broke away

Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark
Sometimes, man is too eager to repair natural imperfections that may exist using science, rather than
seeing these imperfections as beautiful natural occurrences, which will eventually lead to the
destruction of nature. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark, it appears that Aylmer the main
character wants to show the world that perfection is not beauty, and he demonstrates this with his
wife Georgiana and that science should not alter the way that nature set man on this world to be.
Hawthorne was a major asset to the transcendental movement, and this short story is a perfect
example why. Nathaniel Hawthorneattempts to show the world the comparison between perfection
and beauty mainly by: a psychoanalytic version of the plot and Sigmund Freuds three fundamentals.
In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark, the main character, Aylmer, wants to have a perfect wife.
His wife, Georgiana, is a very beautiful woman with just one flaw, the birthmark on her face. As a
scientist, Aylmer tries to create a solution that will get rid of Georgiana s birthmark, thus making
her perfect. According to Hawthorne, however, this is not possible.
During the transcendental phase of American life, which involved literature from Hawthorne,
transcendental writers would support Nature and its importance. In The Birthmark, Nathaniel
Hawthorne tries to show the people that nature does not make anything flawless, and that this is the
beauty of it. Nature, in one shape or another, stamps ineffably

Marion Nestle had decided to take a deeper look into the cereals that claim to have a good high
source of protein. One brand she had looked into was Cheerios Protein versus regular Cheerios.
The protein content was not that much of a difference, the protein claiming Cheerios had 7
grams of protein per 55 grams of a serving whereas the regular Cheerios have 3 grams of protein
per 28 grams in a serving. The difference is not much. People who are not in the foodindustry or are
worried about their protein intake do not see how this is not much a difference because they see
the higher amount of protein versus the smaller amount so they go for the cereal with the larger
number. This is just a way for the cereal brand to have a different and maybe

Gender Roles in Australian Contemporary Society
Gender roles within Australian contemporary Australian Society.
Women produce children; women are mothers and wives; women do the cooking, cleaning, sewing
and washing; they take care of men and are subordinate to male authority; they are largely excluded
from high status occupations and from positions of power. (Haralambous and Holborn 1995,
Sociology Themes and Perspectives, HarperCollins Publishers) These stereotypes have come from
our past and have now become quite frequently used in today s society. Women have been seen as

Application For Successful Electronic Health Records
Reflection Paper
Introduction
As per Fenton, Giannangelo, Stanfill (2006), Workflow, project management, personnel, training,
support, communication, motivation, vision, leadership and evaluation, are essential
considerations for successful electronic health records (EHR) implementations. HI 5329
Assessment and Evaluation course utilized a team work practical approach that covers explicitly or
implicitly the majority of those considerations. The first six modules within this course focused
mainly on business processes and workflow modeling as described in Workflow Modeling textbook
(Sharp McDermott, 2009), hence this is the first topic discussed in this paper. Additional skills
developed during this course include communication and presentation skills, which is discussed
here as the second topic. Lastly, the third topic is the economic aspects of evaluation as explained
in the Evaluation Methods in Biomedical Informatics textbook (Friedman Wyatt, 2005). Although
this topic was not covered within the course and the practical assignments, it grabs my interest as it
discusses a critical real world issue.
Topic 1: Processes and Workflow Modeling
In the introduction section of each module, a statement emphasizing the importance of processes
and workflow modeling knowledge for healthcare informaticians was declared, as such knowledge
and skills are required to ensure high quality performance. As per Sharp and McDermott (2009),
Workflow Modeling is to clearly illustrate

Tuckman Team Stages
Describe with examples the stages that involved in team development.
Psychologist Bruce Wayne Tuckman developed the first four stages of team development. The
stages were called Tuckman stages . Later the fifth stage was added together with Man Ann
Jensen. You can t expect a new team to perform well when it first comes together. The targeted
goal takes time to be achieved by the team within an organisation. Tuckman stages show us how a
team go through various steps acquiring a set of knowledge to share the common set goals.
Teamwork is a way to have an effective work. The five stages are forming, storming, norming,
performing, and adjourning which are further elaborated below:
Forming
In this first stage, a group of people introduced to each other. They are curious, anxious, cautious
and even excited about the task ahead. To form a good impression on others the spirit of positive
vibes are seen among the team members. The forming stage is to create a team with clear structure,
goals, direction and roles so that all the team ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is celebration and recognition of the group achievement. In this ending stage, the temporary
groups will be scattered once the goal has been accomplished. However, the ending process never
occurs in certain groups for example a customer service team and a social media team. However,
time and effort are needed to reach the final stage. The deadline is dependent on the experience and
skills of the team members. Members who have been adapted to the team may find the adjourning
stage difficult as they have to leave the team to accomplish their own personalised goal in the
organisation.
Indeed, team development is a way to increase the ability of an employee to have a good source of
planning, problem solving and decision making. The progression has to be effective through the
stages of the team development effectiveness is very crucial for the team to accomplish their

Michelangelo s work in the Sistine Chapel is one of the greatest pieces of fresco work in the
Italian Renaissance. Every year millions of people travel to the Vatican to see this impressive
work . Not only is the Sistine Chapel an attraction for art lovers, but for Christians the Sistine
Chapel is considered one of the holiest chapels in our world today . However, the Sistine Chapel
like any other works of art was designed to send a message to its viewers. Like most art

Although his actions were not beneficial to everyone, Pope Sixtus spent a vast amount of
money rebuilding the Vatican. He rebuilt bridges, streets, churches, and he founded the Vatican
library. One of his projects included the expansion of the Palatine Chapel which would be later
referred to as the Sistine Chapel. Pope Sixtus commissioned Florentine architect Bartelomeo
Baccio Pontelli to rebuild the chapel. Pontelli was known for his ability to reconstruct and
fortify building structures, which was pivotal to rebuilding of the dilapidated Palatine Chapel.
The building plans for the chapel required it to be built on a larger scale than most chapels
during that time period, and to have fortress on the top level of the chapel to serve as security for
the Vatican. The actual layout of the chapel was a copy of the Jewish Holy Temple. It is still a
mystery how that occurred, but many researchers speculate that Pope Sixtus requested that the
temple build a church similar to the Jewish Holy Temple. The reasoning behind the layout of the
temple has to do with a religious doctrine known as successionism, which is the belief that one
religion can take the place of another. Researchers believe that Pope Sixtus designed the temple to
illustrate to the world that the Catholic Church was the true church and that Judaism was not.
Having a new Holy Temple meant that Rome was now the New Jerusalem, and the capital of the
Christian world. Pope Sixtus arranged

one thing that makes America so attractive to outsiders. Along with the many benefits this diversity
brings to society, however, it also causes some challenges. Challenges such as a clash of cultural
beliefs; clashes of the way society should view its ethical obligations toward family and those they
love. These beliefs are definitely influenced by the culturepeople were raised in and the values
inculcated into them from youth. In an extremely diverse country, like the United States of
America, this causes trouble because these conflicts or clashes can create tense surroundings.
Despite having many cultural differences, society can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I loved my tГa, but something told me to keep my mouth shut. Maybe it was family loyalty (Diaz
132). Once again, it is the human tendency to remain loyal and protect our family members. If
society takes the values that are common to each culture, and then builds upon this stable
foundation, then society will benefit. Society would benefit because positive relationships are
built off what people have in common with one another. When different cultures in a society see
how much they have in common with one another, they will be more apt to cooperate. Another
writer, Jane English, raised in the American culture, highlights in her piece, What do Grown
Children Owe their Parents , a belief that many cultures around the world would agree with. This
is the belief that when children grow up, they should offer assistance and aid to their parents in
any way possible when given the opportunity (English 111 114). This is a form of Loyalty, but
also stems from Love, and the importance of Family, three of the values cherished in many cultures.
No matter where a person is from, Jane English argues that the relationship between children and
their parents should be one of friendship characterized by mutuality rather than one of reciprocal
favors (English 113). In English s and Diaz s respective pieces, they highlight three values, Love,
Loyalty, and Family. Both of these completely different cultures share these values, and really, they
share it in common with many more

others don t? That is a tough question to answer because there are a lot of factors. Cheating on your

How do people make decisions about their sexual behavior? What is the role of will power or self
control when it comes to infidelity? What motivates our sex drive? What makes it so difficult for
men and women to be faithful? Why do people cheat, but then expect or demand their partners to be
faithful? Why are some men and women more likely to cheat than others? What can be done to
prevent infidelity?
How Do People Make the Decision To Cheat?
To start with, human sexuality is incredibly complex. Decisions about our sexual behavior are
typically not planned in advance. Few people intentionally plan on committing infidelity (at least
not the first time it happens).
When making promises to be faithful, most people are serious and have every intention of keeping
their word.
But while people generally have the best intentions when making such promises, human behavior is
not always governed by the fact that vows were taken and that promises were made.
When it comes to making decisions about love and betrayal, logic and reason have a difficult time
competing with our emotions for control. So from time to time, our emotions influence our
behavior and lead us down paths we had no intention of traveling.
In fact, three separate emotional systems are involved in cheating sexual desire, romantic love, and
attachment. And often these distinct emotional systems pull people in different directions

Essay On Peter The Great
Peter the Great ruled over Russia from 1682 to 1725. Known as a key force in the reformation of
the Russian economy, and the country as a whole, Peter wished to bring his country into a new
era. Up until his reign, Russia had been trapped in a medieval like state, cut off from its
European neighbors; the Renaissance that revolutionized the rest of Europe had very little to no
effect on the Russian government or its citizens. Peter realized that Russia could never be the
world power that he wished it to be until they were on the same level as the rest of Europe. Seeing
the dilemma, Peter left Russia for a period of time to travel Europe, work among the people of
different nations, and study the cultures and governments of Russia s neighbors.... Show more

One such fund raising method was the very high taxes which Peter imposed on his subjects. One
particularly odd strategy for gaining funds occurred when attempted to outlaw beards (Beck,
Roger B. Pg. 534), seeing an opportunity, Peter created an optional tax, either a person shaved off
their beard, and stayed clean shaven, or they pay a substantial fine that grants you pardon from
the beard law (Beck, Roger B. Pg. 534). Perhaps one of Peter s greatest desires as the Czar was to
obtain a warm water port for Russia. Up until Peter s reign, Russia had only one substantial port
known as Archangel, however, nearly the entire year Archangel s waters were clogged with
with ice, prohibiting trade or exploration. With a warm water port, Russia would be able to
broaden its horizons as well as bring in a steady flow of money and goods through trade.
Eventually, to accomplish his goal, Peter declared war with Sweden, which lasted 21 years. After
the long struggle with Sweden, Russia finally came out the victor, with a new tract of land as their
spoils to do what they please (Nikiforov, Leonid Alekseyevich, Peter I). Finally, in 1703, Peter
began the construction of a new city on the land that they had taken from Sweden, Peter

The Cloud Of Public Cloud
Introduction: In today s technical world we are experiencing the advancement of moving or
storing larger data from one place to another. 20 years ago it would be impossible to access any
data from any part of the world today it is possible because of one new peace of technology and
that is the cloud. The cloud is term that explains a type of technology that can be used anywhere.
Just like the actual cloud we see in the sky is everywhere though out the planet so is the technical
term cloud. There are four main types of cloud which consists of private, public, community and
hybrid. Each one of these have their own pro s and con s that help an organization in one way or

Private cloud: Private cloud is similar to public the difference is it used for mom and pop shops.
Meaning that small business uses this type of cloud because it is not designed to hold large
amounts of data. A private cloud still needs people to give it the maintenance it needs such as
making sure it is up to date everything is up to date and so on: A private cloud is a particular
model of cloud computing that involves a distinct and secure cloud based environment in which
only the specified client can operate. As with other cloud models, private clouds will provide
computing power as a service within a virtualized environment using an underlying pool of
physical computing resource. However, under the private cloud model, the cloud (the pool of
resource) is only accessible by a single organization providing that organization with greater
control and privacy ( What is a private cloud , 2015). This is explaining that organizations that
have small security issues or are unpredictable meaning that they may go out of business are the
common types of organizations that use this business because it is hard to tell if it is worth the
investment in the long run to keep investing money in a peace of technology that a company cannot
afford to keep. Community: The community cloud is a very unique type of cloud computing and
the reason being it is because it allows companies to get together and use one cloud. In the tech

Virginia Woolf Solid Objects Analysis
Obsession of the Obsessed in Virginia Woolf s Solid Objects Obsession is defined as the
domination of one s thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea or desire. The desire for
nonconformity is a praiseworthy attribute but when taken too far, it can be disadvantageous to
one s goals and ambitions. While it is essential for one to seek transient passions, it is also crucial
to mollify this pursuit, with concern with actual use. The threats of overindulgence are notably
apparent in the case of John, the protagonist of Virginia Woolf s Solid Objects , whose passion for
knickknacks turns into a subtle obsession. Woolf expresses her strong criticism of John by
intensifying his wasted potentiality and his fixation with fleeting dreams while she commends
Charles for his dependability and practicality. The title Solid Objects is a... Show more content on

Management Styles Analysis
Management Styles
Management is a far running subject and there are many definitions of management. From my
point of view, management is described as a process to get something done in the business
environment. It is the person called Manager who gets various jobs done by assign works to people
working with him/her. How the Manager can get the things done effectively and efficiently is an
important problem that should be researched. Robert Tannenbaum and Warren H. Schmidt (1958,

therefore leaders should exercise a range of management styles and deploy them as appropriate. In

Apart from culture and law, different business customs also can influence management styles.
Business custom is part of a nation s culture. It has been formed in a long time, maybe several
decades, several countries, or even thousands years such as China and Japan. The custom includes
how to manage enterprise, how to treat customers, how to get along with leaders and subordinates.
Different countries and economic systems have different answers and standards. For example, in
China, face issue is important for individuals in traditional custom. And appreciation or
encouragements should be made before any criticism. If managers point out employees mistake in
front of other workers directly, the employee might feel ashamed and reluctant to cooperate with the
manager in future, which surely will bring barriers to management. There are also various customs
in different regions, management styles are also changing according to such differences.
I would like to take Japan and the US as examples to discuss how these key factors, culture, policy,
and customs influence management styles in specific circumstances. Obviously, Japan and the US
display an obvious contrast in the aspect of culture, society and ideology, etc. I would like to
discuss the features of Japan and the US at first.

Wendy Wasserstein s Tender Offer
The number one priority for family is making time to enjoy each other. Through the use of a trivial
conversation, Wendy Wasserstein play, Tender Offer shows a father finding a meaningful moment
to reconnect with his daughter. By establishing a tender offer Paul reassures his commitment to
increasing the opportunities to communicate with his daughter. Parents today, would benefit greatly
from reading a Tender Offer , to spark a conversation with their children, and agreeing to commit to
spending more time together.
In the play, the writer set the scene by focusing on a casual conversation between a father and his
daughter. By not focusing on one subject exhibited the uneasiness of their relationship. Each topic
of conversation is in reference to someone else. Showing their inability to communicate with each
other. Children require a great deal of one on one interaction from parents to keep the lines of
communication open. With technology as the main form of communicating today, it has replaced
the personal conversation between family members. Resulting in a wider communication gap
between parents and children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Anastrozole (Arimidex) is the aromatase inhibitor of choice. The drug is appropriately used when
using substantial amounts of aromatizing steroids, or when one is prone to gynecomastia and using
moderate amounts of such steroids. Arimidex does not have the side effects of aminoglutethimide
(Cytadren) and can achieve a high degree of estrogen blockade, much moreso than Cytadren. It is
possible to reduce estrogen too much with Arimidex, and for this reason blood tests, or less
preferably salivary tests, should be taken after the first week of use to determine if the dosing is
correct. As an aromatase inhibitor, Arimidex s mechanism of action blocking conversion of
aromatizable steroids to estrogen is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti estrogens such as
clomiphene (Clomid) or tamoxifen (Nolvadex), which block estrogen receptors in some tissues,
and activate estrogen receptors in others. During a cycle, if using Arimidex, there is generally no

A Summary Of Artificial Intelligence
Summary Artificial intelligence and robotics are growing to become increasingly influential in our
society. With new technology always comes new concerns however, with this particular
technology, there are much greater concerns than any event in history. Artificial intelligence has
presented dangers such as a loss of employment across all job spectrums, an exponentially
increased wage gap in which there are a select few who hold the majority of the wealth and the rest
are impoverished, and the mere fact that the magnitude of knowledge that would be acquired in
incomprehensible to humans. The main reason AI is so threatening is its ability to teach itself to
improve, this is known as machine learning. Through all the contrasting arguments on the
implications of these new technologies, one common fact can be agreed on by supporters and
resisters alike: artificial intelligence in inevitable, it is coming, no one truly knows when and how
but the fact remains that, eventually, artificial intelligence will be integrated with society as we
know it. Loss of Employment The main argument that is commonly made concerning the
repercussions of Artificial Intelligence is that it will aggressively limit the amount of jobs
available to humans. This is no new story. Machines have been slowly replacing human labor in
assembly lines around the world due to the increased efficiency and lower cost of mechanical labor.
The weight of this threat is largely due to the fact that, for the first time

Procedure: Garner s father brought the action the police officer took in the Federal District Court
for the Western District of Tennessee, looking for violations that were made of Garner s
constitutional rights. The complaint was alleged that the shooting of Garner violated the Fourth,
Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments of the United States Constitution. After a three
day trial, the District Court entered judgement for all defendants. It dismissed the claims against the
defendants as being the mayor and Officer Hymon and the Police Department as being the director
for lack of evidence. Hymon s actions were then concluded to being constitutional by being under
the Tennessee statute. The Court of Appeals affirmed with regard to Hymon, finding that he had
acted accordingly to the Tennessee statute. The Court of Appeals then reversed and remanded. It
reasoned that the killing of a fleeing suspect is seizure under the Fourth Amendment, and is
therefore constitutional only if actions are reasonable. In this case the actions were found not to be
reasonable. Officers cannot use deadly force unless they have probable cause that the suspect poses
a serious threat to the officer or has committed a felony.

lights the pyre. The death now is an offering to Agni. After burning the corpse the chief mourner
cracks the skull with a bamboo , thus releasing the soul from entrapment in the body. After
cremation a thirteen day ritual is done for the safety of the soul till it reaches heaven. Family
read a holy book called Bhagwat Geeta every afternoon for the deceased person. .Twelve hours
after the cremation, the ashes are thrown into a river, ideally the Ganges river, and the mourners
walk away without looking back. On the 3rd, 5th, 7th or 9th day, relatives gather for a meal of
the deceased s favorite foods. A portion is offered before his photo and later ceremonially left at
an abandoned place, along with some lit camphor. On the 31st day, a memorial service is held. In
some traditions it is a repetition of the funeral rites. At home, all thoroughly clean the house. the

Everyday Use Symbolism Analysis
Most works of literature are full of symbolism. The symbolism they contain can vary from a
character s personality and actions representing an idea to an object representing an idea. The
short story Everyday Use by Alice Walker makes great use of this symbolism. The primary struggle
in this short story takes place when the oldest daughter Dee returns home to her family s estate. A
contrast between two vastly different approaches on tradition and honoring one s heritage is shown
immediately. This contrast is most evident over the items that are symbolic to a different time
period. The primary focal point of the short storyEveryday Use is the clash of ideas on how to
preserve one s culture. Mrs. Johnson has two daughters, Dee and Maggie.... Show more content on

Quilts designed for everyday use, pieced wholes defying symmetry and pattern, are signs of the
scarred generations of women who have always been alien to a world of literate words and
stylish fantasies (Backer Jr. Pierce Baker 49). This quote perfectly describes why quilts are often
used as symbolism. Since they are pieced together and mended over many generations, quilts are
able to stand as a symbol for each generation that has worked on the quilt. Dee desires the quilts
because it shows the craftsmanship of her ancestors, however, Dee wants only to display the
quilts and not to use it. This is in severe opposition to Maggie who has already been promised the
quilts. Dee replies Maggie can t appreciate these quilts! she said. She d probably be backward
enough to put them to everyday use (Walker 490). Mama sees no problem in this and even
explains that she is tired of keeping them since no one has been using them. Eventually, Maggie
caves and says that she can remember her grandma without the quilts. This fills Mama with joy
and she decides to give Maggie the quilts she promised and she told Dee to grab a different quilt.
Dee was angry and stormed off to the car. As she was leaving she told the family that they don t

Advantages And Advantages Of Bariatrics
A Bed for All Sizes: An Introduction to Bariatric Beds
You may have heard of the benefits of bariatric beds and how it can help patients with weight
challenges, but what does bariatric mean, really? The term bariatrics came from two Greek
words: baros meaning weight and iatrics meaning treatment. It was first used around 1965 to refer
to a branch of medicine that studies and practices ways to prevent and treat obesity. It also looks at
the underlying causes of weight gain. Health and fitness fields such as exercise, dieting, and
behavioral therapy are also part of bariatrics.
Contemporary usage of the term has evolved to refer to hospital equipment used for people of
larger sizes, such as bariatric hospital beds and chairs. Why does one need specialized furniture
over a standard one? What exactly is the difference between a regular bed and a bariatric bed? ...

A bariatric bed can address a variety of treatment and safety issues for patients who weigh up to 450
kg.
For example, a Bariatric Long Term Care Bed not only has a weight capacity that standard bed
frames don t have, it can also be adjusted according to length and width. Similar to a hospital bed,
it can be wheeled to different parts of the home, making it suitable for care facilities. It can also be

Elvis Presley Persuasive Essay
Elvis Presley better known as the king of rock n roll and Michael Jackson better known as the
king of pop, both are beyond iconic and have become some of the most famous musicians in
history. Two words to describe these amazing musicians are simply talented and influential. The two
may be known as the kings but they have a lot more in common than that, as well as many
differences.
Michael Jackson first started his career in 1964. He was the lead singer in a group with his four
brothers. The group was called the Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 started out performing locally in their
home town Gary, Indiana. They then went on to win a talent show, where the winner would open
for Bobby Taylor a couple nights later. Bobby Taylor s promoter knew the group was unique and

depression, loneliness, and obesity. Elvis step brother has claimed Elvis would pass out at the

the food out of his mouth so he would not choke. On August 16, 1977 Elvis was found on his
bathroom floor unconscious. He suffered a heart attack, due to his serious drug problem. When
they completed his autopsy, they found he was not in the best of health, he had an enlarged
colon that had feces in it. The feces in his colon was probably there for four to five months. His
autopsy also stated that elvis had eleven different prescription drugs in his system. Also in his
system, he had ten times the prescribed manner of codeine Due to this the Tennessee medical

Apartheid Dbq
Apartheid s Fall in History Mandela once said, A man who takes away another man s freedom is
a prisoner of hatred, he is locked behind the bars of prejudice and narrow mindedness. (Page 32).
This quote is an accurate description of all the people who supported the apartheid in South Africa
starting when the National Party was elected in 1948. Knowing why this happened and what
brought the apartheid to an end is vital to not making the same detrimental mistake again. Apartheid
came to an end because of internal unrest, external pressure, and great leaders. Protests, such as
Soweto, and boycotts are examples of internal unrest that ultimately led to the end of apartheid. On

Economic sanctions are when trading with a certain country is restricted or results in penalties.
Commonwealth of Nation overcomes UK objections, adopts sanctions package similar to that

prevent apartheid from continuing in South Africa. By not trading with South Africa, they are
making sure South Africa gets less money which will encourage them to end apartheid so that they
can continue making money. Another example of external pressure that contributed to the fall of
apartheid are sports. Sport has long been an important part of life in South Africa, and the
boycotting of games by international teams had a profound effect on the white population, perhaps
more so than the trade embargoes did. (External: Stations Document). The majority of people in

Place Violence In The Workplace
The issue of work place violence is becoming more prominent every day. The challenge that
managers are facing is how to deal with it before and after the event. The management team must
put things in place that allow them to reduce or prevent the possibility of any kind of violent event.
These event cans stream from sexual harassment to conflict or even violence. The importance of
mangers, at all levels, play in preventing work place violence is failing as more of these types of
events are happening. The mass shooting in the workplace have almost become a normal part of
life. The shootings are taking place in government facilities and private businesses all over the

By starting with the screening process of your employees will help reduce the chance of anything
happening. Behaviors of concern can help workers recognize potential problems with fellow
employees. (Romano, et al, 2011). Managers should focus on training their employees to know
what signs they should be looking for and how to deal with those signs when they are identified in
certain individuals in the work place once they are hired. Being able to identify those types of
actions is the key to helping the people that are having issues.
As an employee, there should be a great importance on bringing the issues to the management so it

for the employees to know as well. The training should focus on more than just recognizing the

Moral Realism, Moral Relativism, And Moral Skepticism
When people hear the term ethics, most of their minds turn to dilemmas discussed by figures such
as Immanuel Kant, Jeremy Bentham, Aristotle, and other famous philosophers. These men debated
what is considered to be morally good and how a person can become ethical. Operating under
normative ethics, these philosophers did not question whether or not ethicseven existed, but rather if
they exist, what are they? The branch of ethics that questions the foundation of ethics and moralityis
metaethics. There are three standpoints when debating metaethics: moral realism, moral relativism,
and moral skepticism. I will be discussing my argument for moral realism and contend that moral
relativism and skepticism are inaccurate. I will prove the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in America, it is not uncommon to see a child spanked for misbehaving or
disobeying his or her parent. However, in Sweden, this action is not only illegal, not also
frowned upon. A moral relativist would explain that this is because moral facts can exist and be
objective in America, but can be still objective and independent of Sweden s morals. Lastly,
disagreeing with both moral realist and relativists, moral skeptics believe there are no moral
facts; all morals are equivalent to opinions, and they are different for everyone. Moral skepticism
says that all morals are simply rules created to control humans and their behaviors. For example,
the moral skeptic would argue that the reason controversy exists over issues such as abortion is
that each person has opinions that are independent of others. Skeptics would also say that there are
no right answers to moral dilemmas, because each person will come to a different conclusion.
The validity of realism in metaethics exists based on the fact that humans have certain physical
attributes that occur as a reaction of how we act we have physical reactions when something
morally wrong occurs. More specifically, the human anatomy responds negatively to unethical
activities. For example, the idea of lying is prima facie ethically wrong according to realism;
telling the truth is objectively ethical. This is proven to be true based on the human body alone; it
naturally reacts when we lie by raising our heart

Reflection Paper On Being A Counselor
As a potential counselor, there are different reasons why I choose this journey to be a helper,
servant and a leader. Not only was my early experiences in life a stepping stone towards this path,
but my faith in God and the realities of life led me as well. Even though I am still creating my
future towards this goal, there is no doubt that I am called to be in servitude to others. In this
journey, I am appreciating the learning fundamentals I have gained from the academic coursework,
professionals/teachers and experience that I have encountered to be molded into a multicultural
competent counselor. By taking advantage of this opportunity of learning, I have chosen a
theoretical orientation that best suits me as a potential clinician according to my beliefs, values and
logical thinking. It is also noteworthy to indicate that the self awareness of my beliefs, values,
interests and thoughtprocess has been further explored due to the assessments and activities of the
Life Story Board, Meyer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory (SII), My Career
Story, and Career Genogram, including a reflection of my spiritual walk with Christ.
Life Story Board
As everyone has a story of their journey, my story begins as a child growing up in a traditional
Hispanic/Latino home in a south suburb of Chicago. At a young age, I recognized that I viewed
life differently in comparison to my peers, siblings and parents. My thought process was very
logical, which helped me make rational decisions. It was not often that I made choices according
to my emotions and feelings, but rather choices of what I thought would benefit me in the long
run. However, many of my choices and protests that I did make were against the norm within my
traditional Hispanic/Latino home, gender roles, and religious beliefs. As I reviewed my Life
Story Board, I was able to identify different stages of my childhood/adolescence/teens were I had
either a negative, or a negative/positive experience due to the challenges and consequences of my
logical thought process and actions/reactions. It was a very confusing time for me to live in a
culture where I was constantly being challenged for who I was, without feeling understood.

A Crash Course on Airbags Essay
Car crashes are one of the leading causes for death in many countries all around the world.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), About 1.24 million people die each year as
a result of road traffic crashes. This number is increasing rapidly and the WHO predicts it will
reach 1.9 million deaths annually by 2020. To put that into perspective, that is almost like the
entire population of Latvia dieing out over the course of a year because of car crashes. Speeding
and driving under the influence (DUI) are two other prominent reasons for road traffic collisions.
It would be close to impossible to stop all crashes, so the best thing we can do now is to do what
we can in order to protect the people facing these tragic occurrences.... Show more content on

This is a very strict law against having even small amounts of alcohol in your system while you
are driving. If these laws can be strictly enforce by law enforcement, such as the police, they
could reduce the number of road deaths by 20%. These laws affect everyone within the its
jurisdiction, or basically countrywide in any countries that enforce these laws against speeding
and DUI. My final point is as I said before that more than one million people die annually because
because of car accidents and this number is increasing. It is because of its rapid increase in
numbers that scientists and big car companies alike have been busily working on solutions to this
growing issue.
The first company to come out with a commercially used airbag was General Motors, in 1974. In
1998, airbags finally became a required safety measure on all new commercial cars. All airbags
can be deployed quickly, but the fastest one is directly inside the drivers wheel. From the time the
airbag senses a crash it only takes about 30 milliseconds for it to deploy and it takes around 200
milliseconds to blink your eye. If you blink you might just miss it, no pun intended. These speedy
pillows are fast because of the jet fuel the inflates them. Without the fuel the bag wouldn t be able
to inflate fast enough to save the head of the driver, which is being pulled forward by momentum

Nietzsche s View On Religion
To answer to question if Nietzsche would know really what is god were analyzed all 197
incidences of the term isolated or in derivation combination in The AntiChrist. [FNTAC F.

The translator s point of view is that Nietzsche argues against Christianity, that is:
1. The abandonment of the purely moral view of life;
2. The rehabilitation of instinct;
3. The dethronement of weakness and shyness as ideals;
4. The renunciation of the whole abracadabra of dogmatic religion;
5. The extermination of false aristocracies (of the priest, of the politician, of the plutocrats);
6. The rebirth of the healthy, noble innocence that was the Greek man.
Nevertheless, one can raise several questions: against which Christianity Nietzsche rebels? If he

Pablo Picasso Guernica Essay
Guernica is another perfect example of Picasso exhibiting history in his work. The mural sized
oil painting on canvas was painted by Pablo Picasso in 1937. It is painted in a palette of grey,
black and white and is regarded by many as modern art s most powerful antiwar statement . The
mural exhibits suffering people and animals wrenched by violence and chaos. A gored horse, a bull
and flames are prominent features of the artwork. Guernicadisplays the tragedies of war and the
suffering it imposes on individuals, specifically innocent civilians. The lack of colour intensifies
the chaos and the tragedy. Guernica is a town in the province of Biscay in Basque Country. On
Monday 26th April 1937, warplanes of the German Condor Legion bombed Guernica for two
hours. At the time. Picasso was working on a mural for the Paris Exhibition that was to be held in
the summer of 1937. On May 1st, news of the bombing of Guernicareached Paris. Picasso was

Key figures such as the bull, the agonized horse and a woman with outstretched arms were
perfected in sketch after sketch before being transferred onto the canvas. A painting is not thought
out and settled in advance, Picasso said. While it is being done, it changes as one s thoughts

looking at it. The bull and the horse are both important characters in Spanish culture. The
rampaging bull is thought to represent the onslaught of Fascism. Picasso said the bull meant
brutality and darkness while the horse represented the people of Guernica. The painting was at first
overwhelmingly criticised as Cubism was still a fairly new concept at this time. Picasso continued
producing work and was eventually a world renowned artist. The most influential artist of the

The waste to energy skill is explored to development the possible materials in waste which are
biomass, plastic and rubber tire to be oil. The bulk of waste tyres are disposed in landfills, ensuing
in a sort of troubles such as taking up huge quantity of more and more precious landfill space and
unintentional fires resulting in highly toxic emissions such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur
dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO) and hazardous polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) [2 4]. A variety of strategies have been planned as choices to
waste tyre managing, all planning at tyre reprocess. Waste tyres can regrettably not be recycled
in traditional ways such as glass, metal or plastic by thaw out to attain raw material for new
products. This is as a consequence of the compound nature of tyres, which consist of steel,
rubber, carbon black, ash, fillers, etc. [5]. One more snag is that the polymers in the tyres are
cross linked, and these bonds cannot be chemically broken down simply [6]. Pyrolysis is distinct
as the method by which materials are thermally degraded by subjection to high temperature in the
lack of oxygen [7]. The pyrolysis process is effectual in the recycling of waste materials, counting
waste tyres, and thus contributes to decrease the ecological impact of waste tyres [8]. The
pyrolysis process yields three main products i.e., a gas, liquid and solid [9]. The

  • 2. Analysis of Chapter 3 of Kurth Vonnegut s Slaughter House... In this essay I will be stylistically analysing an extract from Chapter 3 of Kurt Vonnegut s novel; Slaughterhouse Five. I am particularly interested in the effects different perspectives have throughout my extract, as well as the effects of the narrative structure and if it conforms or diverges from the typical models of narrativestructure. I am also going to be analysing the characterisation of different figures in my extract and the impressions these give on the characters. I will also be looking at how dialogue is represented and the overall effects of different devices. I am expecting to find that Vonnegut uses a mixture of different perspectives throughout which may be difficult to extract from each other. I also expect to find... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In doing so, this suggests that even though he is of a higher rank than them they don t see him this way and see no need to pay attention to him. Bob would be therefore losing his higher status and is trying to regain it by delivering an influential speech. During the dialogue between Wild Bob and Billy it is important to note the act of turn taking. As Billy withholds participation, Bob is forced to speak again, meaning that turn taking is not fulfilled here. This gives the impression that Billy is a weak character who isn t really aware of the situation and appears to have little knowledge about the topic. Billy couldn t remember the outfit he was from (Vonnegut 1969: 55). As Bob speaks for longer, and has a lot more turns in the conversation than Billy it shows that he in charge of the soldiers and his status is evident through this conversation. He also controls the topic of the conversation. Again, this displays that despite his physical and mental health he is still a strong, sure and higher status soldier than Billy and it is evident that Billy recognises this. Next I will discuss the characterisation throughout my extract. Firstly I will consider how thought is represented. The main representation of thought that the narrator uses is indirect though. This can be seen firstly where the narrator reports on what Roland Weary is thinking All Weary could think about was the agony in his own feet (Vonnegut 1969: 55). This type of ... • 3. Analysis Of The Of The Flies Amelia patted him on the shoulder You re aces kid and you know it. Tell them! It seemed to be too much encouragement because the blush ran higher and he went quiet. Cassandra gave Edgar a wink and a teasing smile, she knew how to relax him when it seemed none of the others did. William glanced at Penelope Actually, I think you should contract Penelope she s the only one here who hasn t shown her tricks yet. This was an undeniable truth, Penelope had always possessed the ability to go unnoticed, it was bordering on the superhuman. One of her strongest public school memories was of being in class, back then she had an inability to talk in front of people without the sensation of losing consciousness. Her science teacher, Mr. Dotty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sorry, I got trapped in my head. Cassandra smiled We know, you were projecting your thoughts. Did they really forget you for forty minutes? A rush of insecurity enveloped her, it was hard to imagine that her thoughts were not her own. Ya. Sorry about that. There was a light laughter, Edgar was the one to offer comfort Everyone shares their thoughts by accident, especially when they re new, you will get used to it. I started humming songs from Grease in my head when I first got here, Summer Lovin got stuck in everyone s head for a week. William laughed Please! My first day I thought that my instructor was being a Dilapidated balloon fondler. I got detention for a week. Cassandra stood up dramatically and held up her hands I m sorry to say this but, my story is worse than all of those. When I first got here I had a habit of not wanting to remember anyone s name so I gave everyone nicknames. There was a knowing snicker that passed through the group Oh, hush! Anyhow, William was the Carrie Grant , Edgar was Juno s boyfriend , Amelia was mad cater , Cleo was the bitch of senile and Thomas was... the naughty biscotti. Little did I know that every time I referred to them as that in my head, they heard it... for three months. She sat back down with a flush at a genuinely embarrassing memory, everyone was giggling, Amelia spoke It s fine little dove, everyone has long since forgiven and forgotten. • 4. Zoom Car Company Essay Case Example D The main legal issues that have come about from this case are very important for many reasons. Zoom Car Company is being sued on part of Daniel Boone for them to pay for his medical expenses resulting from being dragged from his car and being beaten. The reason behind this is his compass that was installed in his car by Zoom Car Company was faulty which lead him in the wrong direction where he got lost and ended up in a horrible situation. Daniel Boone is suing for his medical bills to be paid by the company of the faulty feature the car offered when it was bought. Who should be responsible for Daniel Boone s medical bills? As the plaintiff he argues that Zoom Car Company should be responsible for his medical bills ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The defendant s argument is they shouldn t be responsible for Daniel Boone s incident because Corrigan Rulers were the ones who manufactured the compass and they should be held responsible for the cost of medical bills and for any other damages. Zoom Car Company believes it is a superseding event, the defendant isn t liable for injuries caused by such events for which he or she is not responsible (108). Which would mean the company can only be held responsible for the faulty compass that was installed in the car not the actions that took place after the fact of where he ended up. It is also possible that Daniel didn t know how to use the compass, which would result in him being held accountable under these circumstances. Nothing is certain on who is responsible for the compass to not work effectively. If there is sufficient proof of the compass not working when the car was purchased it will put them at fault. But if the plaintiff, Daniel Boone, somehow broke the compass after the purchase of the car then he could be held responsible for his actions and would therefore have to pay for his medical bills. For a seller to be held strictly liable, the product it sells must reach the consumer or user without substantial change in its condition (129). If the company, Corrigan Rulers, can somehow prove that the compass was in perfect condition when delivered to Zoom Car Company they will no longer be held responsible for the medical bills. The government did this by slowly creating the enemy, controlling the enemy, separating the enemy and then initiating what is now known as the final solution. Paragraph 1: Creating the Enemy Following the Nazi Seizure of Power in 1933, Hitler built up a Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda headed by Joseph Goebbels. The Ministry s point was to guarantee that the Nazi message was effectively imparted through workmanship, music, theatre, films, books, radio, instructive materials, and the press. The primary flood of enactment, from 1933 to 1934, concentrated to a great extent on restricting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The laws barred German Jews from Reich citizenship and restricted them from wedding or having sexual relations with people of German or related blood. Ancillary statutes to the laws disappointed Jews and denied them of most political rights. The Nuremberg Laws, as they wound up known, did not characterize a Jew as somebody with specific religious convictions. Rather, any individual who had three or four Jewish grandparents was characterized as a Jew, paying little mind to whether that individual distinguished himself or herself as a Jew or had a place with the Jewish religious group. Numerous Germans who had not practised Judaism for quite a long time got themselves captured in the grasp of Nazi hatred. Indeed, even individuals with Jewish grandparents who had changed over to Christianity were characterized as Jews. The motivation behind the Nuremberg Laws was to totally isolate the Jewish populace by never again thinking about them as a religious gathering however as a race, they did this by putting facial highlights to the race . This implied the isolation and control of the Jewish populace would be considerably simpler to complete and execute. Ordinary residents, energized to some degree by Goebbels hostile to Semitic purposeful publicity, bolstered the Nuremberg Laws and partook in unconstrained shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Successful Dating Advice One of the most common pieces of dating advice women receive is to play hard to get. A search of the phrase alone yields over 940 million results on Google. Each link will take a reader to tips on how to play hard to get in order to attract men. According to this advice, woman should not come off as overzealous, appearing needy, and to be as ambiguous as possible when talking to a potential mate in order to appear more mysterious, all in the hopes that the mate will find the woman more attractive and desirable. The popular dating website eHarmony equates playing hard to get with self worth, and encourages women to do so to in order to increase their chances of a relationship (Spezze, 2011). With so many sources giving this advice, it demands... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We liked to be liked so much so that we tend to like those who we know like us more than those whose feelings about us are unknown (Aronson et al., 2013). In an experiment conducted by Gold, Ryckman, and Mosley (1984) when a female showed interest in male participants, these participants reported liking this woman despite there being disagreements between the participant and the female on different important issues. It appears that the woman conveying her interest to the males was enough to increase their liking of her (Aronson et al., 2013). When a woman plays hard to get, however, she conveys the message that she has little or no interest in the male. By ignoring his phone calls, not agreeing to plans, or acting mysteriously during conversation portrays that the female is not interested which may in turn cause the male to like her less. According to reciprocal liking, the best way to attract a male would be to express interest in him. Simply telling a man that you are attracted to him should increase the amount he likes you back. Again, we like to be liked and seek out those who like us, therefore playing hard to get would not be smart dating advice according to this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Regime Of The 1905 Revolution It is evident that Nicholas II was mainly to blame for the 1905, due to his lack of response to the growing discontent amongst the Russian people. Although it could be argued that the actions of previous Tsars were the cause of this discontent, and this was certainly influential, Nicholas failure to act upon his people s requests was ultimately the cause of the revolution. The repressive Tsarist system in place in 1905 was arguably one of the most significant factors in the 1905 revolution, as much of the discontent in Russia was due to anger at Nicholas autocratic Tsarist government. It could be argued that the repressive Tsarist system was not the fault of Nicholas II, but instead a problem that had been in existence for decades before his reign began. For example, Nicholas predecessor Alexander III was also committed to the preservation of the autocracy, and arguably took steps towards repression, through Russification and censorship, in addition to the introduction of the Okhrana. Therefore, it could be argued that Nicholas was not to blame for the repressive Tsarist system or its consequences, due to the fact that it had been in existence before his reign began. However, as Nicholas did little to stop the government being so repressive, it could be argued that he was still to blame. Despite widespread calls for reform from individuals such as Father Gapon, these requests were not acted upon, so in some ways Nicholas II can be held to account for the ... • 8. A Dream Of Passion By Euripides Medea And Apollonius s... The character Medea is a well known character throughout Greek culture due to Euripides s Medea and Apollonius s Argonautika. Jules Dassin s A Dream of Passion presents the story of Medea in a modern way, allowing myth and reality to intertwine. Because the film is based on the myth, the two main characters in the film, Maya and Brenda, share many qualities to Medea, such as killing of their children. Common themes, such as the position of women in society, are also presented in both mediums. These similarities show that Euripides and Dassin are conveying the same ideas using different methods. As stated in the paragraph above, Maya has a lot in common with Medea. However, we do not see that until later in the movie. She originally starts off as a character who is very unlike Medea. She does not understand the passion of Medea. Kostas, the director, asks her to repeat Okay. My director, my love. When she does, her love does not come across and this frustrates him. According to Kostas, No love is no passion and no passion is no Medea. At this point, we already see the differences between Maya and Medea. Early in the film, Maya claimed that she would rather go to battle than to give birth to a child. It is evident she wants to focus on acting, hoping to revive her career. She seems to care only about her image; she demands the costume designer to pick out costumes that make her look younger. Furthermore, when suggested that she visit Brenda to better understand Medea, she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is accountable for stemming the flow of illegal drugs and other contraband, protecting United States agricultural and economic interests from harmful pests and diseases, and protecting American businesses from intellectual property theft. • 10. Reflection About Sports My life has consisted of many sports. Sports has been a part of my life for a while now every since I can remember. The sports I played throughout the years has been baseball, football, soccer, and I ran track. Throughout the years I played these sports has been some challenging times and injuries that have happened to me. Injuries and challenges always have an impact on a athletes abilities and there physical and mental wanting to keep on playing. One challenge I had playing some of these sports is the coaches. Some coaches you have through your high school or athletic career will help you and assist you. One coach I had for track was the total opposite of that, instead of helping us, all she would do is criticize everything that a person would do wrong and ignore the team if they had questions. She wouldn t help us resolve our problem and I found that as a challenge for me because if I needed help on some tips for running, she would not help. How I responded to this situation is by talking to her about the ways she coaches. She didn t respond very well to what I had to say but at least I stood up and said something. She learned that I didn t like how she was coaching and that s how I resolved my situation with her. Many individuals tend to become uninterested, uncommitted, and unmotivated for many reasons. The reasons they have could be resolved very easily. Some of the reasons I have heard throughout the years is that the training is too hard. Training is supposed to be hard, you aren t going to be the best unless you train hard. Another complaint I have heard is that the coaches are mean. Some coaches are mean and some coaches are mean for a reason. Some coaches that is the only way they know. Pushing athletes to the wall has been a coaching thought for many years and most coaches I had, went by that mindset. The last reason I think people become uninterested in sports or physical activity is that there not getting any results. The fact of the matter is; it is not just working out that s going to get you the results. There are many factors that go into progressing and getting that result you want. Your diet has a lot to do with getting that result so you got to make sure you are eating right. Ways that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The American Public Education System There are many problems in the American public education system today. Some of those include the quality of teachers, who have no real passion for the job, and are only allowed to remain in the position because of tenure privileges. Another issue is the state budgets that are allowed for public schools, with some states investing billions of dollars, and others prioritizing it lower on the list. In hot debate today is standardized testing, and the negative effect that it has on high schooleducation, with the limits it places on teachers and what they have time to teach in the classrooms. One of the biggest problems in the American public education system is the lack of a common standard for what students should be learning, and when they should learn it. In other words, the inequality of curriculums across the nation is affecting the preparedness of students when they venture out beyond the public school system, for the worst. The way to fix this problem, according to many teachers, administrators, and politicians, is by implementing a common curriculum across the nation that will ensure that the quality of a student s education is not determined by where they happen to live. The Common Core State Standard curriculum is the solution to the unequal education problem in public schools. The purpose of the CCSS is to set goals for each grade level, so that each student, parent, and teacher knows what the student is expected to leave the grade knowing, and what they ... Black September Organization (BSO), also called Arabic AylЕ«l al Aswad, was a militant faction that broke away from the Palestinian organization Fatah. The name BSO also comes from September of 1970 when the King of Jordan King Hussein who declared military rule, brutally killing thousands of Palestinian Fedayeen. • 13. Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark Sometimes, man is too eager to repair natural imperfections that may exist using science, rather than seeing these imperfections as beautiful natural occurrences, which will eventually lead to the destruction of nature. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark, it appears that Aylmer the main character wants to show the world that perfection is not beauty, and he demonstrates this with his wife Georgiana and that science should not alter the way that nature set man on this world to be. Hawthorne was a major asset to the transcendental movement, and this short story is a perfect example why. Nathaniel Hawthorneattempts to show the world the comparison between perfection and beauty mainly by: a psychoanalytic version of the plot and Sigmund Freuds three fundamentals. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark, the main character, Aylmer, wants to have a perfect wife. His wife, Georgiana, is a very beautiful woman with just one flaw, the birthmark on her face. As a scientist, Aylmer tries to create a solution that will get rid of Georgiana s birthmark, thus making her perfect. According to Hawthorne, however, this is not possible. During the transcendental phase of American life, which involved literature from Hawthorne, transcendental writers would support Nature and its importance. In The Birthmark, Nathaniel Hawthorne tries to show the people that nature does not make anything flawless, and that this is the beauty of it. Nature, in one shape or another, stamps ineffably ... People who are not in the foodindustry or are worried about their protein intake do not see how this is not much a difference because they see the higher amount of protein versus the smaller amount so they go for the cereal with the larger number. Application For Successful Electronic Health Records Reflection Paper Introduction As per Fenton, Giannangelo, Stanfill (2006), Workflow, project management, personnel, training, support, communication, motivation, vision, leadership and evaluation, are essential considerations for successful electronic health records (EHR) implementations. HI 5329 Assessment and Evaluation course utilized a team work practical approach that covers explicitly or implicitly the majority of those considerations. The first six modules within this course focused mainly on business processes and workflow modeling as described in Workflow Modeling textbook (Sharp McDermott, 2009), hence this is the first topic discussed in this paper. Additional skills developed during this course include communication and presentation skills, which is discussed here as the second topic. Lastly, the third topic is the economic aspects of evaluation as explained in the Evaluation Methods in Biomedical Informatics textbook (Friedman Wyatt, 2005). Although this topic was not covered within the course and the practical assignments, it grabs my interest as it discusses a critical real world issue. Topic 1: Processes and Workflow Modeling In the introduction section of each module, a statement emphasizing the importance of processes and workflow modeling knowledge for healthcare informaticians was declared, as such knowledge and skills are required to ensure high quality performance. The targeted goal takes time to be achieved by the team within an organisation. Tuckman stages show us how a team go through various steps acquiring a set of knowledge to share the common set goals. Teamwork is a way to have an effective work. The five stages are forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning which are further elaborated below: Forming In this first stage, a group of people introduced to each other. Although his actions were not beneficial to everyone, Pope Sixtus spent a vast amount of money rebuilding the Vatican. He rebuilt bridges, streets, churches, and he founded the Vatican library. One of his projects included the expansion of the Palatine Chapel which would be later referred to as the Sistine Chapel. Pope Sixtus commissioned Florentine architect Bartelomeo Baccio Pontelli to rebuild the chapel. Pontelli was known for his ability to reconstruct and fortify building structures, which was pivotal to rebuilding of the dilapidated Palatine Chapel. The building plans for the chapel required it to be built on a larger scale than most chapels during that time period, and to have fortress on the top level of the chapel to serve as security for the Vatican. The actual layout of the chapel was a copy of the Jewish Holy Temple. It is still a mystery how that occurred, but many researchers speculate that Pope Sixtus requested that the temple build a church similar to the Jewish Holy Temple. The reasoning behind the layout of the temple has to do with a religious doctrine known as successionism, which is the belief that one religion can take the place of another. Researchers believe that Pope Sixtus designed the temple to illustrate to the world that the Catholic Church was the true church and that Judaism was not. Society would benefit because positive relationships are built off what people have in common with one another. When different cultures in a society see how much they have in common with one another, they will be more apt to cooperate. Another writer, Jane English, raised in the American culture, highlights in her piece, What do Grown Children Owe their Parents , a belief that many cultures around the world would agree with. This is the belief that when children grow up, they should offer assistance and aid to their parents in any way possible when given the opportunity (English 111 114). How Do People Make the Decision To Cheat? To start with, human sexuality is incredibly complex. Decisions about our sexual behavior are typically not planned in advance. Few people intentionally plan on committing infidelity (at least not the first time it happens). When making promises to be faithful, most people are serious and have every intention of keeping their word. But while people generally have the best intentions when making such promises, human behavior is not always governed by the fact that vows were taken and that promises were made. Known as a key force in the reformation of the Russian economy, and the country as a whole, Peter wished to bring his country into a new era. Up until his reign, Russia had been trapped in a medieval like state, cut off from its European neighbors; the Renaissance that revolutionized the rest of Europe had very little to no effect on the Russian government or its citizens. Peter realized that Russia could never be the world power that he wished it to be until they were on the same level as the rest of Europe. Seeing the dilemma, Peter left Russia for a period of time to travel Europe, work among the people of different nations, and study the cultures and governments of Russia s neighbors.... One particularly odd strategy for gaining funds occurred when attempted to outlaw beards (Beck, Roger B. Pg. 534). Perhaps one of Peter s greatest desires as the Czar was to obtain a warm water port for Russia. Up until Peter s reign, Russia had only one substantial port known as Archangel, however, nearly the entire year Archangel s waters were clogged with with ice, prohibiting trade or exploration. With a warm water port, Russia would be able to broaden its horizons as well as bring in a steady flow of money and goods through trade. Eventually, to accomplish his goal, Peter declared war with Sweden, which lasted 21 years. After the long struggle with Sweden, Russia finally came out the victor, with a new tract of land as their spoils to do what they please (Nikiforov, Leonid Alekseyevich, Peter I). • 35. A Summary Of Artificial Intelligence Summary Artificial intelligence and robotics are growing to become increasingly influential in our society. With new technology always comes new concerns however, with this particular technology, there are much greater concerns than any event in history. Artificial intelligence has presented dangers such as a loss of employment across all job spectrums, an exponentially increased wage gap in which there are a select few who hold the majority of the wealth and the rest are impoverished, and the mere fact that the magnitude of knowledge that would be acquired in incomprehensible to humans. The main reason AI is so threatening is its ability to teach itself to improve, this is known as machine learning. Through all the contrasting arguments on the implications of these new technologies, one common fact can be agreed on by supporters and resisters alike: artificial intelligence in inevitable, it is coming, no one truly knows when and how but the fact remains that, eventually, artificial intelligence will be integrated with society as we know it. Loss of Employment The main argument that is commonly made concerning the repercussions of Artificial Intelligence is that it will aggressively limit the amount of jobs available to humans. This is no new story. Machines have been slowly replacing human labor in assembly lines around the world due to the increased efficiency and lower cost of mechanical labor. The weight of this threat is largely due to the fact that, for the first time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The complaint was alleged that the shooting of Garner violated the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments of the United States Constitution. After a three day trial, the District Court entered judgement for all defendants. It dismissed the claims against the defendants as being the mayor and Officer Hymon and the Police Department as being the director for lack of evidence. Hymon s actions were then concluded to being constitutional by being under the Tennessee statute. The Court of Appeals affirmed with regard to Hymon, finding that he had acted accordingly to the Tennessee statute. The Court of Appeals then reversed and remanded. It reasoned that the killing of a fleeing suspect is seizure under the Fourth Amendment, and is therefore constitutional only if actions are reasonable. In this case the actions were found not to be reasonable. Officers cannot use deadly force unless they have probable cause that the suspect poses a serious threat to the officer or has committed a felony. Lastly, disagreeing with both moral realist and relativists, moral skeptics believe there are no moral facts; all morals are equivalent to opinions, and they are different for everyone. Moral skepticism says that all morals are simply rules created to control humans and their behaviors. For example, the moral skeptic would argue that the reason controversy exists over issues such as abortion is that each person has opinions that are independent of others. Skeptics would also say that there are no right answers to moral dilemmas, because each person will come to a different conclusion.
