Question 1 Analysis The majority of people in this question answered neither which gives me the impression that people watch the video to a music video and are not bothered about a story line but they are mostly interested to see if the video is entertaining or interesting. This is good because it means my video can be more interesting and have less of a plot meaning it will not seem so acted. The answer I got from this question gives me freedom when making my video to give the video feel and interest whereas trying to stick to a script or set actions gives the video a constricted feel
Question 2 Analysis The responses a I got for question 2 made me feel like the quality of the video is strongly determined by the editing and after work done to it. I got the majority of people saying that they think a video is made better by the quality of the editing which means my work done after I have filmed the clip is just as important in making the video work well as the actual shots and acting.
Question 3 Analysis The results for question 3 showed that people who watch music videos either pay a lot of attention to the mise en scene or don’t bother about it. This means to make my video better I need to use mise en scene cleverly to appeal to greater audience and appeal to peoples tastes. Mise en scene in my view is key in any video as it gives the video character and appeal and also sets the scene or enhancing the backdrop. The fact that some people are bothered by the mise en scene is unusual because people tend to notice the little things in videos they see over and over again rather than the blatantly obvious.
Question 4 Analysis The very definite result I got for question 4 is that people strongly agree that the music video to a song is just as important as the song and lyrics itself. This is not a surprising results as music is mostly listened to now on things like YouTube and music TV channels. So this means my video will need to be of a high quality in order to keep up quality expected from original song video. The video I am shooting is going to be of the same style as the original but in different locations and shots and be more amateur. The video for the original was of a very high quality and people will see that style and effect represented in my own interpretation of the video.
Question 5 Analysis From the results of question 5 I can see that people strongly feel like the video must have some representation of the lyrics and song but from previous results I see that people don’t want a set storyline to the video. The result I got from this question was not surprising because I feel that the video should always follow the speed and tone of the song.
Question 6 Analysis From results of this question I can see that people do not feel that a video needs a fast paced. This is good for me because the song I have chosen is a slower more gentle song with a calming and soothing video. This is key to my video as I need to follow this effect with my video to keep in rhythm with the song.
