Target Audience
The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust have no specific target audience as it is mostly a charity to
help york to become rich with wildlife. The specific audiences are more towards the
activities and attractions the TYW have which helps there charity and makes here
company more popular. For example they have nature reserves that would attract local
families. TYW also run a range of projects using nature to help improve physical and
mental health for the elderly. They have a membership specific for children called the
wildlife watch allowing people of ages 8-13 to take part in activities. My group will be
splitting into three teams looking at each demographic. I will be focusing on the
elderly.
Audience
Sexuality/gender
I would like to target all sexualities and
genders since the wildlife trust don’t have
any information nor activities to segregate
certain sexualities. My advert will be should
be aiming my clients goal in a positive light
and to pass the message about the decrease
of wild places. According to Yougov the
world wildlife funds has a more popular
female demographic then males. Since the
WWF is similar to the YWT these statistics
should relate. To raise a male audience, I
may have to use a male
narrator/interviewer. This will better relate
with a male audience.
Age
According to Yougov the WWF have a popular
demographic of baby boomers and generation x.
Since I am targeting the elderly, it is beneficial to
research how the WWF appeals to the older
audience.
Audience
Psychographics
My project will be focusing on the type A
socially conscious psychographic. This makes
sense since my client is hoping for me to
push the message about the decline of wild
spaces. Our target is to convince people to
take notice and donate so the YWT can
expand the wild places.
Geodemographic
Since my clients message is to inform the
decline of wild places, it is best to target
those who live In places with rare wild
space such as cities. I will make sure my
video will be for those who don’t have
much experience with wildlife.
Gratifications
I am making my product for those who seek
information. My product will be informing
about how wildlife is rapidly decreasing as well
as how fewer people experience wildlife.
Interview
• Do you think taking footage of animals is necessary for a wildspace
charity advert and why?
I don’t think it is necessary however I personally think it would make the
advert much more effective since it helps the audience to sympathy with
living creatures. It also gives a bigger picture
• What kind of music would relate best with a wildspace charity and why?
I think having natural wildlife sounds would work best to proper immerse the
audience to what a wildspcace would be like.
• Is a shorter charity advert more effective to than a longer charity advert?
Why?
I think a shorter advert is best since it wont extend too far and bore the
audience. This would make the message quick and satisfying for the audience.
