Outstanding Accomplishments
Have completed more than 35 projects from conceptualdesign to commissioning and handover. For most of these
projects I did the Cost estimation activity for the Electrical works. These projects included work for Municipalities,
Transportation,Power generation, facilities, infrastructure & industry. Cost of each project varied from one to fifty
Million dollars.
My exposure to different type of Electrical Engineering projects helped me successfully work in diverse electrical
environments.
Usually clients required cost estimation at two steps, one at the design completion and other when the client wanted
to assess the estimate with respect to the budget for Tender documents in consideration of the project scope &
objectives. For bigger projects most of the time I did my input for the cost estimation work. Participated in
preparation of the value engineering documents aimed to conclude the cost estimate realistically and relate the
expenditure to the value of the deliverable content.
Earth Tech awarded ‘Gold 2007 Presidents Award for Technical Excellence in Facilities Projects Category’ for
Darlington nuclear waste disposalfacility design-built project.
Quality Assurance team Leader for various projects. Contributed in depth technical review and provided
recommendations for integration of design elements to achieve overall project objectives in a cost effective way and
in consideration with future needs of the plant.
Worked with Canadian Army for restoration of Power Distribution Systemin Bosnia during the Peace Keeping
mission.
Wrote technical guidelines & worked as SME (subject matter expert) for development of Live Line work practice
for a fault repair crew of an oil facility, established guidelines for safe work practices and developed performance
indicators for developing efficiency improvements to help monitor corporate objectives.
Most recently in Project Management role completed Arc Flash Mitigation Project for Humber Waste Water
2. Treatment Plant City of Toronto.A challenging project requiring systemanalysis for aging distribution system
connected to hydro and requiring various upgrades to meet the challenges of Power quality issues.Work finished in
time and within Schedule.
During the work gained good understanding ofthe CEC, Canadian Standards, and ESA regulations including the
complex interpretations and the flexibility limits as determined by the practice documents attached to the standards
which explained the technical aspects why the systemlimits are defined.
During last 15 years of work never had issue of approvals from ESA or interpretation of standards orquality control
during construction phase.

of work, compliance with overall schedule, coordination with other disciplines, client and stakeholders.
Had lead role in Total Quality exercise for a Distribution System Development Unit of a Power utility.
Worked on High Voltage hydro systems including protection , monitoring and SCADA.
Medium/Low Voltage Power distribution systemfor industry, infrastructure of municipalities, verse for
water and wastewater treatment plants, transit facilities, buildings, hospitals, military installations, and oil
service infrastructure.
Project Experience
(GHD 2011-2016)
Major upgrades to existing Leslie Street WW pumping station for Region of York. ( 2011 – 2014)
It was a challenging job to design and implement the upgrades covering major changes to an aging plant mostly built
during in 1970s. Constraints of the old infrastructure, space limitations, requirement to keep the plant operational
during the upgrade work needed lot of effort to put togetherthe design details . Scope of work required introduce
latest technologies for improvement in efficiency, enhance pumping capacity, improve quality of power, and
provide controls/automation/monitoring measures for improvements to overall capacity and performance of the
plant.
Salient features included,
1. Source of incoming 27.6 kV power supply by reconfiguring the substation fromsingle hydro feed to double
hydro feed.
2. Installed bigger three Standby Diesel Generators each rated for 4.16kV system,2000kW power output.
3. Installed new 4.16 kV switchgear with ability to hot transfer load from Generator Bus to Hydro supplied
bus.
4. Increase Pumping capacity by introducing bigger 4.16 kV pumping motors with active front end VFDs,
related power supply infrastructure.
Design of Richmond Hill Water Pumping station for Region of York (2012-2013)
Richmond Hill Pumping Station was to be designed/constructed forsupply of water to North York communities.
Completed the Electrical design work for the project which included,
3. 1. A 27.6kV substation supplied by two feeders from Power Stream.
2. Standby Diesel Generator.
3. Design of primary and secondary Electrical distribution systemto meet the load requirements for present
and future needs.
4. Design based on reliability and requirement specific Electrical hardware which meets the operation
objectives of the equipment.
5. A coordinated control and monitoring systemto expectations of the users and stake holders.
Plant wide Arc Flash mitigation for High and Low Voltage Electrical system at Humber WWTP 2015
This was a unique and interesting project, aimed at improving the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the plant by
reducing arc flash levels within manageable risk.
Work involved,
1. An overall study of the plant distribution system, gather information with respect to distribution system
parameters and how they are contributing to the potential of Arc Flash hazards in different operational
conditios.
2. Doing a comprehensive System analysis to identify the areas of concern which could be due to system
configuration, outdated fault protection hardware/accuracy deficiencies, switching mechanism etc.
3. Development of different operational scenarios to address identified deficiencies, and prepare phase by
phase modifications to various devices and components.
4. After each modification verified the changes required to enable protection settings operate the tripping
devices within the time allowed for a safe and reliable tripping action without adverse effect on other
devices/operators/equipment/system.
5. On completion of work finalized the revised arc flash levels, affixed Warning Labels to each piece of
equipment with respect to Arc Flash level and recommended personalprotection required for operating the
specific equipment safely.
Earth Tech/AECOM) 2004-2011
Ontario Power Generation, Darlington Used Fuel Dry Storage Facility, Pickering, Ontario.
Member of project team responsible for electrical design documents for a new facility, to be constructed in
association with ES Fox as design-built project. Scope comprised amenity building, process building and storage
