distribution networks primarily for general building facilities and wastewater treatment plants. Interested
in furthering knowledge of power distribution networks and high voltage power.
Skills
● Familiarity with SKM, AutoCAD, and Visual Lighting Studio.
● Technical Design (familiarity with NEC 2014, NFPA 70E 2015, IECC 2015, ASHRAE 90.1, and
various IEEE articles).
● Subject matter expert in Solar PV, Fuel Cells, and Battery technologies.
Education
Masters of Science, Engineering GPA 3.3
Arizona State University Polytechnic, Mesa, Arizona May 2015
Bachelor of Science, Electronics Engineering GPA: 3.0
Arizona State University Polytechnic, Mesa, Arizona December 2013
Work Experience
Electrical Designer (Temp Position), Pugh Engineering June 2016-Present
Roles include supporting lead engineers on projects. Managing expected workloads and completing
projects/assignments on schedule and on budget, anticipating and recognizing problems, effectively
thinking through problems and information to identify solutions.
Projects
F12 & F32 Tap Can Install, Intel Corp.
Ocotillo Campus Chandler, AZ
● Created design package for conductive link between interior UPS systems and external load
bank. Applied NEC rule 240.4(C) for all load bank links being installed due to high amperage
requirement (1200A).
● Consulted with clients to review scope of work documents and provided 90% design drawings in
a timely manner to ensure quality control.
HDMX Transformer and Panelboard Install, Intel Corp.
Chandler Campus Chandler, AZ
● Created design package to install two 500kVA 480V-380/220V transformers and two 1200A
MLO panelboards. Transformers and panelboards to support future HMV004 and HXV003 tool
install.
● Utilized electrician contractors to perform field verifications of existing source panelboards and
provide feedback on available bus space.
2. HMV004 and HXV003 Tool Install, Intel Corp.
Chandler Campus Chandler, AZ
● Created design package for tool installation. Tool install required 480V, 380V, and 120/208V
power sources. Utilized previously installed HDMX Transformer and Panelboard. Used SKM to
model arc flash hazard and print arc flash labels.
Electrical Engineer Lvl 2, CDM Smith June 2015-May 2016
Roles included supporting multidiscipline design team and project lead. Managing expected workloads
and completing projects/assignments on schedule and on budget, anticipating and recognizing
problems, effectively thinking through problems and information to identify solutions, and
communicated/coordinated design details with other disciplines to ensure conflict avoidance.
Projects
USACE Tracy, Corps of Engineers
California
● Designed a small building power distribution system using overhead 12.47kV and stepping
down to 120/208V using a 75kVA pole mount transformer. Design included complete detail
layout of pole mounted transformer, 150A panelboard, 100A sub-panel, SDS grounding, and
mixed electrical loads (induction motors, AC units, general purpose receptacles, and lighting).
Used Visual Lighting Studio to simulate/model lighting design and adhere to California Title 24
energy requirements.
Millenial Challenge Account Microgrid Review, US State Department
Indonesia
● Performed an intensive technical review of 5 different microgrid projects getting ready for IFC.
Technical scope included small hydro, wind turbine, and hybrid solar/battery systems. Strict
adherence to IEC rules governing fault mitigation and overcurrent protection was followed.
Renewable energy systems were backchecked for system size and energy production
capabilities.
Joint Base Lewis-McCord (JBLM) Waste Water Treatment Plant, Department of Defense
Washington
● Conducted QA review of SKM model as part of SKM training. Ensured all breakers and trip units
modeled matched field conditions and notified electrical lead of any mismatches. Worked
closely with expert SKM finalizer in Boston via Skype to correct any mistakes in the model
before performing arc flash study and mitigation.
AdditionalExperience
Engineering Intern at Springerville Generating Station, Tucson Electric Power (TEP)
June 2014 – August 2014
3. ● Updated electrical single line drawings for power block and aux power systems on Generating
Unit 4. Identified missing protective relay breaker components, breaker fuses, and other
switchgear related equipment.
● Brought breaker identification system up to date through physical checking, cross referencing,
and relabeling every breaker bucket on Generating Units 1 and 2.
Soldier, US Army
March 2004 - April 2008 Honorable Discharge
● Managed 15 defensive towers and coordinated with Battle Captain as base defense operations
coordinator.
● Utilized communication skills to serve as an effective crewmember on the Abrams Main Battle Tank.
● Purchased, setup, and maintained satellite internet system to provide troops with communications link to
their loved ones.
