 In a thirty year period UAE developed a public
national education system which is parallel to
Western countries’ hundred year effort for
education establishment.
 Education has turn into a main concern in the
UAE.
 Modern economic and social infrastructure
growth is provided by applying vast resources in
health, education, and social welfare.
 Public education facilities were expanded
tremendously after the foundation of the UAE in
1971
 Expanded learning program suggests providing
education based on more afterschool and
summer programs which will be constructive
addition in schools reform.
 Countries apply afterschool programs to build
interest for education in students, which give a
strong evidence base for the academic benefits
of afterschool programs.
 Expanded learning would include afterschool
programming, like offering camps, extra
tutoring, and field trips, by schools as a main
part of their new reform.
 Expanded learning can play a vital role in enhancing
academic and moral outcome for students.
 Surveys can be taken on accountability for outcomes
to make evident student efficiency for the school
administration to help in obtain the expanded
learning program in the structure of development
reform.
 The current reforms of the schools focus on
changing the delivery on regular instructional
programs similar to international schools patterns
 Expanded learning would get benefit
for early childhood education.
 It is not easy to pursue school
administrators that an investment in
this program can give a significant
outcome in terms of achievements of
students
 Though evidence of positive results is
accumulating of expanded learning,
further evaluation about impacts of
expanded learning program can
increase the knowledge of its effective
application.
 Identifying the core elements of good
expanded learning and their link with
student results is a good step
 Integrating expanded learning in a
school reform needs extra funds.
 The education communities need to
partner with federal education
committees and ministries to
increase the support for funds
development.
 Focus for funds allocation should
be that the funds would be used
only in offering innovative
expanded learning opportunities in
needed schools.
 Appropriate staff needs to be appointed for
high quality expanded learning program.
 Development of constructive planning to
attract talented people towards this field and
current professional development improves
staff’s skills in working for expanded
learning program.
 Schooling organizations should be developed
to create training programs for afterschool
curriculum providers.
 Strategy should be made in differentiated
staffing very deliberately, and staff could
include, school-day teachers, volunteers,
retirees, college students, etc.
 Sometimes schools want to attract
community resources to offer opportunities
to students but don’t have resources to
even make partnership with universities-
based organizations, train staff, evaluate
quality of program, and influence
resources.
 To apply expanded learning program
effectively a constructive planning,
management, implementation and
collaboration is essential.
 Non-profit agencies or intermediaries can
play a core role for expanded learning
program in encouraging vast availability
and high-quality in afterschool projects
 According to researches evidence is made that
the integration of expanded learning can
produce positive results in terms of academic
and moral learning.
 It is critical to implement this practice in school
reforms, some schools may falter in these
applications in spite of sufficient funds
 Schools can create comprehensive and strong
programs through making the research, and
developing strategies to implement expanded
learning programs in the school reforms
 Over the last decades, the UAE has a great
opportunity to implement the lessons
learned from the experience in improvement
of learning patterns for students.
 Funds can be obtained to fulfill necessary
needs in transforming school reforms.
 The funds can also be used to incorporate in
the interventions which are focused on
student interests and needs.
 Resources should be used efficiently to make
innovations in the reforms for afterschool
learning

Reform initiatives for school

  • 2.  In a thirty year period UAE developed a public national education system which is parallel to Western countries’ hundred year effort for education establishment.  Education has turn into a main concern in the UAE.  Modern economic and social infrastructure growth is provided by applying vast resources in health, education, and social welfare.  Public education facilities were expanded tremendously after the foundation of the UAE in 1971
  • 3.  Expanded learning program suggests providing education based on more afterschool and summer programs which will be constructive addition in schools reform.  Countries apply afterschool programs to build interest for education in students, which give a strong evidence base for the academic benefits of afterschool programs.  Expanded learning would include afterschool programming, like offering camps, extra tutoring, and field trips, by schools as a main part of their new reform.
  • 4.  Expanded learning can play a vital role in enhancing academic and moral outcome for students.  Surveys can be taken on accountability for outcomes to make evident student efficiency for the school administration to help in obtain the expanded learning program in the structure of development reform.  The current reforms of the schools focus on changing the delivery on regular instructional programs similar to international schools patterns
  • 5.  Expanded learning would get benefit for early childhood education.  It is not easy to pursue school administrators that an investment in this program can give a significant outcome in terms of achievements of students  Though evidence of positive results is accumulating of expanded learning, further evaluation about impacts of expanded learning program can increase the knowledge of its effective application.  Identifying the core elements of good expanded learning and their link with student results is a good step
  • 6.  Integrating expanded learning in a school reform needs extra funds.  The education communities need to partner with federal education committees and ministries to increase the support for funds development.  Focus for funds allocation should be that the funds would be used only in offering innovative expanded learning opportunities in needed schools.
  • 7.  Appropriate staff needs to be appointed for high quality expanded learning program.  Development of constructive planning to attract talented people towards this field and current professional development improves staff’s skills in working for expanded learning program.  Schooling organizations should be developed to create training programs for afterschool curriculum providers.  Strategy should be made in differentiated staffing very deliberately, and staff could include, school-day teachers, volunteers, retirees, college students, etc.
  • 8.  Sometimes schools want to attract community resources to offer opportunities to students but don’t have resources to even make partnership with universities- based organizations, train staff, evaluate quality of program, and influence resources.  To apply expanded learning program effectively a constructive planning, management, implementation and collaboration is essential.  Non-profit agencies or intermediaries can play a core role for expanded learning program in encouraging vast availability and high-quality in afterschool projects
  • 9.  According to researches evidence is made that the integration of expanded learning can produce positive results in terms of academic and moral learning.  It is critical to implement this practice in school reforms, some schools may falter in these applications in spite of sufficient funds  Schools can create comprehensive and strong programs through making the research, and developing strategies to implement expanded learning programs in the school reforms
  • 10.  Over the last decades, the UAE has a great opportunity to implement the lessons learned from the experience in improvement of learning patterns for students.  Funds can be obtained to fulfill necessary needs in transforming school reforms.  The funds can also be used to incorporate in the interventions which are focused on student interests and needs.  Resources should be used efficiently to make innovations in the reforms for afterschool learning
