Managing digital collections requires new strategies like emphasizing access over ownership, supporting discovery through workflows, and developing inside-out collections that are tailored to institutional needs rather than relying solely on outside content. Librarians working in environments with a small number of people reporting to them and a limited number of professional staff members often have a great number of disparate duties. How do the tasks and jobs suggested in the e-resource life cycle relate to the many duties of a librarian in a small organization? The presenters will discuss how they break down their responsibilities using the framework of the e-resource life cycle as well as other job analysis techniques to tackle both large and small projects. Among our examples will be an inventory of our collections to clean up our catalogs and our OCLC listings, preparing items for digitization, and implementation of a discovery system. We also want to explore how the needs of a law library and the needs of a general academic library impact workflow and decisions.

The goal of the International Librarians Networking Program (ILNP) is to assist librarians from around the world to network and expand their skills in librarianship through a cooperative and collaborative program. The program is designed to be self guided, allowing participants to form a collaborative relationship with one another for four months and the opportunity to continue networking after the program ends. The International Librarians Networking Program is part of the American Library Association International Relations Round Table.
The 2021 cohort comprised 62 people from 27 countries selected for pair networking. There had been 270 original applicants from 39 different countries. I was paired with Dr Win Shih, Director of Integrated Library Systems at the University of Southern California. The ILNP final project was to create an academic poster arising from the conversations during the four month period. We completed one on Diversity Equality Inclusion initiatives in UCC & USC.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Original papers relating to Winthrop's history and South Carolina history are housed in the archives and special collections department. For years Rutledge was known as Carnegie Library, named for industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie who provided funds for its construction. It was renovated into a classroom building when Dacus Library was constructed in 1969. That same year, the building was renamed in honor of Mai Rutledge Smith Johnson, wife of founding president David Bancroft Johnson and descendant of South Carolina's first governor, Edward Rutledge, who signed the Declaration of Independence. A 1990 renovation recaptured the splendor of the building's Classical Revival style, which incorporates features of French Imperial design.
