This document discusses the technique of a trochanteric flip osteotomy for surgical treatment of a posterior hip dislocation. Key steps include a lateral incision, flipping the trochanteric fragment to look down into the empty acetabulum, removing scar tissue, everting the labrum, and reducing the hip. Post-operatively, patients are touch down weight bearing for 6 weeks with range of motion exercises before progressing to weight bearing. The trochanteric flip osteotomy provides powerful exposure of the acetabulum and femoral head.
