This document provides an introduction to stream variables in OpenModelica for beginners. It discusses stream variables as a way to represent physical phenomena that are transported by flow, such as enthalpy and mass fractions. The key points covered include how stream variables are calculated, avoiding singularities at zero flow, handling bidirectional flow, modeling branching and merging of flows, and implementation rules and operators for stream variables. Examples of actualStream and inStream operators are also provided.
