Family Law Case
A family law attorney basically deals with all the familial legal matters. Within a family and between
family members there might arise a thousand types of situations that require the intermediation of an
attorney who understands all the aspects of the family law. While there are situations like divorce and
premarital agreement, there are also cases regarding child custody, adoption, and alimony. Given
below are some of the things that family law attorney handles:
1. Marriage is one of the commonest aspects of family law. You may seek legal help and counsel
before your marriage. Such meetings can be arranged to discuss your and your spouse s assets. You
can also discuss the consequences of a divorce in respect to the properties. If you want to negotiate
some terms of marriage, such a lawyer will also create a prenuptial agreement. There are also post
nuptial agreements that discuss the distribution of assets in case of an eventual divorce. ... Show more

Child custody is another crucial area of practice by the lawyers who deal with family law. Such a case
crop up when there is a divorce or in case of any form of abuse or mistreatments of the child. A lawyer
negotiates for the custody of the child at the court. Such a lawyer also makes sure that child support is
paid to the parent sharing the custody of the child. It is a major responsibility of the attorney to give
the child/children in safe and caring hands.
4. Did you know that family law attorneys also represent children before the court of law? There are
cases of being abused or neglected by the parents or guardian that requires the help of an experienced
attorney. There are specialized lawyers for child advocacy.
5. In the cases related to divorce or the formation and signing of prenuptial or post nuptial agreements,
proper legal decision about the distribution of estates is done by a family law attorney. An attorney
ensured fair and just distribution of property and assets between the two people involved in the

Tristan Social Norms
Also Tristan may imply that even though love has an uncontrollable and powerful control, it doesn t
come without a cost, as when Marke finds out of the relationship between Tristan and Isolde, Tristan is
forced to flee to Normandy (Von Strassburg 284)4. Tristan finally represents the change of social
norms in the twelfth century. One major change of the social norm would be the quest of real love
rather than arranged marriages. Isolde and Marke s marriage was a literal arranged marriage, and as it
was shown in the romance, neither one of them were truly happy. With true love of Isolde and Marke,
they were much happier. While it only affected the nobility and people of upperclass, it encouraged
the desire of finding true love, and not just

Gender Bias
SONA: Own Gender Bias in Change Detection for Gender Specific Images
The previous research was based on change blindness, such as, not able to view change when in an
environment. Changes of the environment can vary to the color, people, etc. In addition, there are two
different types of processing, such as, bottom up and top down. For instances, the bottom up process
observes the physical missing in the environment. And, the top down process observe the beliefs,
expectation etc. of the participant. Furthermore, the question for this research was that men and
women would not differ their capability to view changes in images. In addition, that men and women
would view changes sufficiently in the images if it pertain to their gender rather than the opposite
gender.
The methods used in this research were participants, materials and procedures. For instance, the
participants consist of 53 undergraduates, in detail, 31 women and 23 men. In addition, the race of the
participants were a variety of Whites, Blacks and Hispanics. Yet, the race of the participants were not
equaled, for example, there were more Whites than Blacks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, based on the chart in the research the gender image type did not reveal such a prominent
result. The women in the research did have further favor women oriented images than the men

projected in the question for the research. Furthermore, the changes in image were the key factor in
the research. The participants were not that successful in pointing out the changes or no change on the
images. In addition, the participants demonstrated that the top down process is more influenced in this
research than the bottom up process. Overall, the research was a success due to the questions were

Essay On The Art Of Camille Corot
When I first saw this painting done by Camille Corot, I was in awe. It was one of the many beautiful
paintings that I saw on my first trip to the Fine Arts Museum of Houston. The painting looks almost
dreamlike and soft, which amazed me on how a painter could create an art piece as such. This piece is
called Orpheus Leading Eurydice from the Underworld, by Camille Corot, French, 1861, the medium
is oil on canvas. I was immediately attracted to this art piece because of the earthy and naturalistic
colors used, and how the landscape seems almost hazy. This enchanting painting tells the tragic Greek
myth of Orpheus, the Greek god of music, saving his wife, Eurydice, from Hades, God of the
Underworld. Orpheus absentmindedly breaks the terms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Devoted to his paintings he once said to a friend All I really want to do in life... is to paint landscapes.
This firm resolve will stop me forming any serious attachments. That is to say, I shall not get married .
I like the softness of how Corot painted this art piece. The painting, to me, looks simple yet
topographical, due to the trees and bushes painted. What I did not like about this piece is the way he
depicted the Underworld. The Underworld is said to be very dark and gloomy, due to all the dead
spirits living there, but Corot paints it with light and lush, making it look anything but eerie. He uses
Time and motion by showing Orpheus legs in a walking position, whilst holding Eurydice arm,
leading her out of the Hades Underworld. Also, the texture of the trees and bushes have a realistic
topographical and layered appearance with shades of blacks and browns. Since Corot is a landscape
painter, he often uses atmospheric perspective to create the illusion of depth. He shows the spirits
mourning their death in the background with shades of cool tones and uses light colors, while
emphasizing Eurydice and Orpheus in the foreground with more deep and darker colors. Another
element I ve seen in Corot s painting is his use of space, he shows Orpheus and Eurydice on the corner
right while the rest of the image is more focused on his beautiful landscape in the background.
Additionally, the focal point that immediately caught my eyes attention was the spirits depicted

Big City Research Paper
NYC has some of the best architecture in the world and there are so many different examples of this.
There are many styles of architecture but some of the most popular styles are art deco, gothic, and
beaux arts. Each of the styles have different materials and designs that make them unique and cool.
Every building in NYC is used by someone for something. Some examples are office space,
residential space, and worship spaces.
One of the most common types of buildings in NYC are office buildings. There are so many jobs and
companies so lots of big office buildings are needed. A good example of one of these buildings is the
Empire state building. It is such a popular landmark and it is known all over the world. It was built in

Residential spaces are needed for people to live in end for visitors and tourists to have a place to stay.
An example of a hotel is The Plaza Hotel. The Plaza Hotel was built in 1907 on 5th Avenue and 59th
Street. It was used for tourist and people To be able to have a place to stay while they were visiting or
renovating their apartment. It is 20 floors tall and it is still in use today. The Trump Tower was built in
1983 and is 664 feet tall. It is a residential space, retail space, and office space. Both of these examples
are still in use today and demonstrate how New York City Residential space can range from
skyscrapers to short buildings.
One thing that New York City is famous for is its transportational architecture. Cars can drive around
the city on streets and across bridges that are all different kinds of architecture. One very famous
bridge is the Brooklyn Bridge. It is a suspension bridge that is 1595 feet long. It is connecting
Brooklyn and Manhattan and suspending over the East River. This is One of the oldest Bridges in

The Ponzi Scheming
Before the exposure of his scheme, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities seemed to be a normal
investment firm (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Bernie was a well respected in the financial industry,
evidenced by being named chairman of the NASDAQ and by being asked to testify before congress
(Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Bernie s brother, Peter served as the head of compliance in the legitimate
trading side of the firm. While Peter was technically savvy, Bernie was anything but (Bandler
Varchaver, 2009). His computer was set up to report financial news and nothing else (Bandler
Varchaver, 2009). He didn t have an email account, and it was said that he could barely turn his
computer on (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). At the next level of the firm were Bernie s sons, Mark and
Andy (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Andy was seen as the more intellectual of the two, but mostly
unapproachable (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). He had a good understanding of the complex issues facing
the firm (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Mark, on the other hand was more of a charismatic leader. He has
been described as easygoing and low key (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Not surprisingly, like a typical
family owned and operated business, many of the employees were long term employed with several
staying for ten years or more (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Seemingly, people enjoyed working for
Bernie (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Evidence can be seen of his compassion: In 2002 a rookie trader

The Four Views On Salvation Readers
SUMMARY OF THE BOOK In the four views on salvation readers are presented by major advocates
of the following views: pluralist by John Hick, inclusivist by Clark Pinnock, particularist by Alister
McGrath, and evidentialist by R. Douglas Geivett and W. Gary Phillips. The primary contention of the
book is about if Jesus is the only Savior? And if that is true, then what happens with those who profess
faith and salvation outside of Jesus Christ. The Four Views of Salvation are a single volume that
introduced the reader to the basic positions within evangelicalism The editors stated that the term
pluralism favors many religions with salvific norms, inclusivism relates to salvation in every cultural
norm, and exclusivism and the restrictivism have a prejudicial connotation and prevent true dialogue
and argument. Therefore they proposed the term particularism be used instead; however, all four
contributors to the book used the term of their personal preference or the term that they felt best
advanced their viewpoint. The primary questions are: Where is salvation found? What happens to
sincere people of other faiths? What about those who never hear the gospel? The idea for the book
arose out of the 1992 Wheaton Theology Conference that brought evangelicals together to discuss the
challenges of pluralism and inclusivism. Religious pluralism is the greatest challenge facing
Christianity in our culture, Dennis L. Okholm and Timothy R. Phillips assembled the writings of five

Bigotry In Hudson
Hudson, the perfect bubble in Northeast Ohio, is seen as serene and flawless; when, in reality, it s a
breeding ground of bigotry. This bigotry is not as rampant and explicit as the protests and riots we see
on TV, but it is slowly grown, like a tumor, noticed only by a careful eye. A debate in class taken place
a few weeks ago shows this perfectly. As our class argues about government imposed hiring quotas, it
became clear that the majority of the kids in the room wanted an all white workplace. They didn t
speak poorly about minorities, they simply implied that they were lesser than the dominant race in
Hudson, caucasian. This upset me. How can our nation move forward with so much hate fostered from
a young age? I had to speak up. Knowing

Tupac Meaning
Interpretation of Life Goes On Tupac Shakur, in some people s opinion, was one of the greatest
rappers that s ever lived. Over a decade ago Tupac wrote an inspirational song named, Life goes on.
Life goes on, seems to be about the streets taking people s lives, and how even though you lose
someone, you can t waste time mourning because that not what the victim would want you to do; the
victim would want you to live your life because they are not coming back. The three stanzas in the
song gives the audience the feeling that Tupac has lost friend through death, jail, and soon his time to
die will come but he would not want any sad faces and tears, just happiness, because life goes on. In
verse one, the speaker seems to be describing walking through the hallways of prison for bail. Breath
Stinking/ in my jaws, implies that the artist had just awaken, was rushed, and didn t have any time to
brush his teeth because it was time for him to leave. After leaving the prison it seems as if he was
surrounded by loud people he knows that s filled with excitement because of his release from prison.

Implies there is risk that could lead to jail or death protecting his family from cheap man who will take

The other problems i faced were:

include:
Learning how to construct a well written report
Greater self confidence in asking random people questions on the street this resulted in me gaining
better communication skills
I have learnt many new ways of gaining data and how to use many chemicals and metres to determine

Essay On Canada s Transportation System
Canada s Transportation System.
Transportation is the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to another.
Transportation is the system of road transportation, rail transportation, marine transportation and air
transportation.
Transportation always played an important role in the history of Canada because of building the
railway system many provinces such as British Columbia and Prince Edward Island agreed to join
Confederation. The first Canada s railway line was built in 1836 and the first railway system was
completed and opened in 1885. November 8, 1885, the first rail train traveled across Canada from sea
to sea. There were the first steps of transportation s history of Canada.
Transportation is an essential component of the Canadian economy. The transportation s system makes
possible to Canada to trade and develop local and international businesses. Canadians like to think of
themselves as residents of an autonomous nation, but increasingly, local and national politics are
dictated by the global shipping network. Without foreign buyers of raw materials like softwood and
oil, Canada would be a much poorer place. Shelves would go bare and the economy ... Show more

When Canadian government, in the 1870s, promised to build a railway from Nova Scotia to British
Columbia it took more than two years just to find a company who agreed to do it. Also, it happens
today when the country needs to grow up the transportation system the government asks companies or
people to help. For example, in March 2015, Vancouver s government interviewed residents for an
option of paying a 0.5 per cent sales tax in exchange for a vastly upgraded rapid transit system.
Funding infrastructure projects in Canada, and elsewhere in North America, are a perennial challenge
that s been most commonly answered by taxpayers, said Fiona Crofton, a sustainability professional
and former University of British Columbia

Curriculum And Instruction For Atypical Learners
Today s teachers face many challenges in the classroom. Teachers are held accountable to provide
rigorous, relevant instruction that meets the needs of all students. In addition, teachers must also
provide accommodations and modifications of assignments for students who have special needs or
disabilities which may hinder them in a regular educational setting. These types of general education
instructional adaptations are the focus of one of my Master s coursework studies, Modification of
Curriculum and Instruction for Atypical Learners (SPED 5366). Through the course, I gain knowledge
which allows me better understand how to meet the educational needs of these atypical learners.
During the course, I created an application assignment with a teaching tool that meets the needs of a
student who struggle in the area of Science. In addition, I implement the lesson with the student and
reflect on the experience (see Appendix A Gummy Bear Science). I chose the atypical learner lesson
as an example of my showcase work because it reinforces how to effectively assess a struggling
student s strengths in a subject instead of focusing on their weaknesses. In the assignment, I provide
an instructional plan that best meets the needs of the struggling learner. Instructional planning
recognizes and supports the classroom as a community to which age peers belong, where they can and
should be nourished as individual learners (Lawrence Brown, 2004, p. 36). For the assignment, I

Marx And Friedrich Engels s Impact On The 21st Century
Looking back at these two works written in the mid to late 19th century, it has become clear the
benefits and detrimental aspects of the opinions of the writers. The statements and arguments made by
each author will be considered in the general impact each philosopher had on the 21st century.
In 1848 when Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote the first edition of the book that would define
their worldview, they saw an issue with the fragmentation of the communist beliefs and were
commissioned to put the beliefs of the communists into a clear document to demonstrate what they
stood for. Many of their ideas are now outdated, and some have been implemented in current society
with unsuccessful results. Marx advocates the violent overthrow of governments to equalize the
people of the country, rationalizing it as a way to overthrow the regime of the bourgeoisie. As seen in
history, this can often lead to a state where the country is plunged into civil war or genocide, with an
equally oppressive or more tyrannical leader than before. The attempt of leaders of many nation states
to adapt Marx s ideas of nationalizing the agricultural process has resulted in increased costs for the
consumers of the nations, and preventing them from negotiating trade contracts. The spread of
globalization has increased, but contrary to the beliefs of Marx, there has not been a push to remove
the borders of nation states because of the similarities of the nation s workforces. Any attempt to

Swimming Pools Budget Cut
Although nobody likes to cut the budget, I feel our budget can be cut in many different ways. We need
to split the budget of the swimming pools in half because six public pools is a lot for one town and it s
too expensive. We need to cut some of the youth programs like the high school incentive programs
because students shouldn t have to be rewarded to get good grades they should just get them. We
should only have two additional police officers instead of three because two is enough for this city and
we don t want to go over budget and have too many police officers. I decided that we should have
three public swimming pools instead of six. Six is too many pools and we could use the money on
something else more important than swimming. The

Being An Organ Donor Before They Die
The first strategy suggested being Education; some educational efforts focus on increasing the number
of people who consent to be an organ donor before they die, and others focus on educating families
when they are considering giving consent for their deceased loved one s organs.
Another potential strategy is mandated choice where every individual would have to indicate their
wishes regarding organ transplantation in legal documents e.g. drivers licenses and hospitals must
comply with the written wishes of the individual regardless of what their family may want. This
method has a positive aspect in that it enforces the concept of individual autonomy, but the downside
being that it requires an enormous level of trust in the medical system.
Presumed consent is a third strategy where citizens organs are taken after they die, unless a person
specifically requests not to donate while still living. Many worries with this method is that the general
public would have to be educated and well informed about organ donation, which is difficult to
adequately achieve. Also, this approach requires people who wish to opt out to take action and this

Analyzing Winckler s Family Guy
The analysis of the first episode of Family Guy is important in that, as Winckler puts it, the pilot of
any series is representative of the whole program (44). The general atmosphere, the characters
introduced, and a few catchphrases set the tone of the sitcom. Some cutaway gags appear, cultural
references are made and a few borderline jokes are told, thus categorizing the show as an adult series.
The pilot truly embodies these characteristics that will remain the hallmarks of the show. In the case of
Family Guy, the airing time also played a key role in the success of the sitcom, as the pilot was first
broadcast right after Super Bowl XXXIII. The plot was highly inspired by MacFarlane s final
university project called The Life of Larry, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first cutaway takes place at church, where the priest talks about the story of Job. The French
version inexplicably calls Job Joe , even though his story and other Bible references are well known in
French culture. God is seen being embarrassed by the story, a gag that works in both languages quite
well. When the priest tells Peter that the communion wine is indeed the blood of the Christ, Peter says
that Jesus must have been wasted 24 hours a day ; the adaptors changed the sentence, possibly out of
fear of offending viewers, to On peut me faire des transfusions tous les jours ou c est trop demander? .
The effect it has is similar but the original does surprisingly not emphasize much Peter s alcoholism.
In the next memory, Peter is seen eating some buttered rum ice cream. In French, the ice cream flavor
is changed to rhum raisin , a different one yet equivalent in alcoholic effect. In the final cutaway, the
family is seen watching Philadelphia at the movie theater. After a while, Peter recognizes Tom Hanks
from the comedy Big and thus laughs at everything the actor says, including his confessing that he has
AIDS. The joke successfully transfers to French since Tom Hanks and his filmography are famous in
French culture, and the fact that Peter would laugh at such a serious matter categorizes him as

Religion And Morality On The Hunt Of Finding The Author Of...
God as Author of Morality
There is always controversy around when we bring any topic related to religion to the table and it is
not different when we talk about morality. This paper will explore the controversial side that plays
religion and morality in the hunt of finding the author of what we know as social norms. In this
philosophy paper, we will discuss the origin and evolution of the Divine Command Theory and we
will analyze an objections against this theory cited by Plato (Atenas, 427 347 a. C.) who states:
morality and moral obligations ultimately do not depend on God.
First of all, we will discuss the origin end evolution of Divine Command Theory. There are three
central assumptions about the correlation between morality and religion. We may focus on one out of
those three assumptions. This assumption points out that somehow there is a direct relation between a
divine being and what is morally appropriate. Russ Shafer Landua explains this argument by claiming:
Morality must be created by someone, and God is by far the best candidate. (2014 The Fundaments of
Ethics p.63) God s omniscience (all knowing) is which gives the best credentials for designing a moral
code. Also, this assumption claims that without the existence of God there would be a lack of morality,
considering that we need some authority to guide us. Our disapproval of certains action do not make
things wrong, since as human beings, we have a limited overall vision. Shafer Landua also shows that

Palm Oil Growth And Sustainability
Palm Oil Growth in Peru Slows as Land Suitability and Sustainability Take Top Priority
Palm is a tree crop suited to cultivation in climatic conditions similar to those of the tropical
rainforest. From 1999 to 2009, global production more than doubled. Thirty years ago, palm oil
accounted for less than 2 percent but now accounts for 37 percent of vegetable oil consumption
worldwide, and palm has displaced soy as the world s most important vegetable oil. Palm oil is used
as a biofuel, for cooking, and in a wide range of other items, including food products, cosmetics, soaps
and detergents.
Malaysia and Indonesia produce 85 percent of the world s palm oil. Expansion in these two countries
is expected to diminish by 2022, however, as land suitable for additional palm oil production
dwindles. As an alternative, developers are looking to other regions for expansion, including Latin
America. Estimates suggest that Peru has the second largest area potentially suitable for increased oil
palm production within this region.
Area Expansion
In 2003, the Peruvian government announced that the production of biofuels, including palm oil,
would be a priority. Before 2006, palm expansion in Peru was slow and occurred mainly on already
cleared land (mostly pastures and secondary growth forests, as opposed to old growth forests.)
Between 2006 and 2010, however, area doubled, and about 70 percent of all new palm plantations
during this time were established by old growth clearing.

The Assassination Of Timothy Mcveigh
Ever since its creation America has always been seen as the icon for peace and prosperity; however,
just like every other nation in the world, America has encountered some exceedingly dark and sinister
incidents of the past years. Like David Berkowitz s killing spree in New York City during the summer
of 1976, the Virginia Tech shooting that took place on the college campus in 2007, and even the
horrific Oklahoma City Bombing that Timothy McVeigh orchestrated in 1995. But there is one event
in particular that was even more heinous and stranger than any of those the Jonestown Massacre. It
was a mass suicide that occurred on November 18, 1978, in Guyana that took the lives of over 900

It was after several moves starting in the Midwest and ending in the Westcoast that Jones decided that
the Peoples Temple needed to emigrate from San Francisco to Guyana in order to escape what he
believed to be creeping fascism in the United States. Jones was a Marxist after all so there was always
that need to rebel against America and its capitalistic ideas (Russell 39). And the communist utopia
that Jones and the Peoples Temple had created (Jonestown) began to flourish. It had seemed that the
utopia Jones had always envisioned was now reality. The members of the Peoples Temple began to
feel at home because it was a place where anyone no matter what race, gender, or even age could live
in perfect harmony with one another. In fact during its first phase of existence it could actually be
considered a proper socialist community from the point of view of a true political scientist (Latson).
And it was not until the late 1970s that Jim Jones and Jonestown began to crumble which could only
be explained by Jones unusual metamorphosis. Nobody really knows for sure what happened to him
when he and the Peoples Temple had left the United States to build their community in Guyana, but it
would be something that would end up destroying not only himself but everything he and the Peoples
Temple had created. In 1978 it had become evident that the

Cause And Effect Essay On Left Handedness
The Causes and Effects of Left Handedness Observed in Individuals
For thousands of years, there has been evidence of humans fascination with handedness, particularly
regarding left handed individuals. In the past, southpaws have been represented as a sign of evil,
mental illness, defiance, creative and music ability, and empathy. As a result of these clichés, left
handers, had been alienated in the past. However, in more recent developments, psychologists and
neurologists alike have investigated the potential causes of this rare trait, looking to genetics and early
childhood development for answers and, more importantly, part of the effects that handedness has on
left handers mentally, physically, and socially.
While scientists still have not been able to find a definitive cause for becoming left handed, many
believe it to be based on factors such as genetics and neurological health. For instance, one study from
the University of Leicester, believes that the answer to this question lies in our genes, each person
carrying a recessive gene for left handedness, either inheriting it ourselves or passing it on to future
generations. Furthermore, other theories support this idea, evidencing how two left handed individuals
are far more likely to produce offspring that are also dominantly left handed as opposed to two right
handed individuals. However, this conjecture has yet to be proven, leaving the work of other scientists
to explain this phenomenon. Fortunately, some

How Has Hip-Hop Changed In The 80 s
Hip Hop has changed over the decades some of these decades include the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
Hip Hop came from New York, few people knew about Hip Hop when it was first being created in the

I Believe In Neurology
Emotions have a strong influence on human lives. My mother s constant battle with anxiety began
after her mother died of a hemorrhagic stroke due to uncontrolled hypertension. Seeing her struggle
with an almost debilitating fear of illness naturally lead to towards trying to better understand the
complex interplay of disease and emotions.
I am naturally curious. In Pakistan due to limited resources and lack of foreign trained professionals,
the government hospitals affiliated with my medical school have no separate Neurology departments.
Instead of this being a hindrance, I considered it a mixed blessing. My curiosity was kindled and I
studied neuroanatomy and neurology with more vigor than most.
My desire for learning took me to the USA for clinical electives at Mount Sinai School of Medicine,

Improvalizing The Song Anything Goes By Ella Fitzgerald
Anything Goes Topic 2
In the song Anything Goes performed by vocalist Ella Fitzgerald, the band plays without vocals
around one minute and fifty four seconds. The band is improvising because it is a new melody playing
over the original chord progression. The aspects of the music that helped me determine this was
because when it switched to the band solo, I could hear the original tune of the song and could sing
along as if the vocalist was still singing, even though there was a new melody. Improvising in jazz has
a slightly different meaning than how most people use it today. Before taking this course, I would ve
thought that improvising was to perform something spontaneously. Whereas in jazz, although it still is

The Starry Night Essay
Description: Van Gogh painted more than 10 paintings of olive trees, which was mostly in Saint Remy
de Provence, France in 1889. The painting of Olive Trees in a Mountainous Landscape was
complementary to The Starry Night. The landscapes are in a pattern of curves as painting from The
Starry Night. Van Gogh s unique painting technique, impasto was used. The characteristic style of
divisionism is used by painting multiple strokes with varieties of colors. It is decided character of each
horizontal zone of this turbulent work that keeps the picture from succumbing to the dullness of chaos,
which so often results from an artist s immersion in pure feeling. In the visionary cloud, with blue and

He expressed his feelings about his religion of Christianity through painting olive trees. Van Gogh
painted olive trees to show how France can be demanding and compelling place. Olive trees are the
representative of Provence, France. The pure nature of rural Provence in France is equivalent of a
painting of Christ on the Mount of Olives. Olive trees are painted included a religious meaning with
overtly using traditional Christian imagery. The image is dominated by the swelling rhythm of the
earth, the swirling cloud, and undulating mountains. Van Gogh considered the countryside to be a
rejuvenating antidote to the enervating decadence of the modern city. Olive trees are singled out as
motif and images that he saw as being the essential that makes up the enduring character of Provence.
Moreover, Van Gogh s passionate of painting fills the entire landscape land of grass, olive trees,
mountains, and clouds, with a tumultuous disordered motion. The painting is more powerful and
imaginative as expressionist art, which proceeded from a similar, emotionally charged vision of
nature. After Van Gogh voluntarily entered the asylum at Saint Rémy in the south of France in the
spring of 1889, he wrote his brother Theo: I did a landscape with olive trees and also a new study of a
starry sky. Later, when the pictures had dried, he sent both of them to Theo in Paris, noting: The olive

Although nomadic, American Indians were initially seen as quite technologically advanced (in
comparison to other indigenous people the British had encountered). Signs of civilisation by western
standards were evident. Some communities had established farms, fishing facilities and trading, while
many Indian tribes were also formidable military opponents. Ottawa Chief, Potiac, had successfully
demonstrated defiance of crown rule over their land by briefly seizing British military posts
(Chartrand, 2010). Throughout the colonising effort, British powers quickly established that Canada
was not terra nullius. By 1763, the Royal Proclamation declared King George III as the ultimate
dominion over North America, but title rights to land belonged to First Nation People. Only through
treaties between tribes and the crown, could land be sold or ceded. Furthermore, upon selling or
trading land, native title was also seen to have extinguished (Dickason, 1992; Robinson, 1991). The
Royal Proclamation is still in effect these days, with the Indian Act enforcing Indigenous lands to be
vested with the Crown. Consequently, this law has created a sense of distrust between Canadian
government and First Nation people, similar to the cynicism between many Australian Aboriginal
communities and their federal government. There is a general belief that North American lands are
still in jeopardy, as long as legal titles remain outside of Indigenous people s control. Despite the

Crime Is A Major Problem
Literature review Crime is a major problem in Memphis (the Bluff City) that have reached numerous
communities in areas such as Frayser (Anthony, Hunter, Jewell, Johnson, Mooreland, 2006). Crime
has been a major concern in the bluff city. However, there are certain crimes that are more alarming
than others in this region. Crimes such as homicides, home invasions, and kidnapping. Due to the
frequencies of the crimes, my focus will center on the problem of assaults and burglaries in the North
Memphis area that occur on a daily basis (Buchner, 1998). Assaults An assault is defined as an
unlawful attack on another person for the purpose of afflicting serious physical injury (Alexander,
2003, p. 13). An assault is usually achieved by the use of a weapon to inflict death or great bodily
harm. Assaults have increased in the city of Memphis when viewing a 10 year trend (Alexander,
2003). According to Fyfe (1982) Memphis rates for assaults toward African American individuals
were higher compared to Caucasian individuals. The disparity yields a black death from police
shootings while unarmed and no assaultive were 5.4 percentage to 100,000 of the population. This rate
was 18 times higher than the comparable white race of 0.3 (Fyfe, 1982). The individuals who
experienced assaults by officers were unarmed and the end result was death. Burglaries Memphis is
ranked first in the nation for the highest number of burglaries per 100,000 population (Buchner, 1998).

The Posadas Research Paper
Las Posadas is Spanish for The Inns , and it is a religious festival celebrated across Mexico and some
parts of the United States. It is held between December 16 and 24, and lasts for nine evenings. The
Posada begins with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, a beautiful prayer to the Mother of Jesus, Mary.
It finally ends with the Posada and Midnight Mass on December 24th. It commemorates the journey
that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a location where Mary could
give birth. When they weren t able to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were forced to seek
shelter in a stable, where Jesus was born. The tradition of the Posadas was brought to Mexico from
Spain in the 1500 s by Catholic Missionaries, and are not to be confused with simply a Christmas

The Constitution of the United States was designed to protect citizens civil rights from infringement
by the government and law enforcement agencies. The Constitution guarantees that the civil liberties
of the people of this country shall be respected and upheld. That fact is often considered to be
common knowledge and taken for granted by the vast majority of the population. However it was not
always that way. American legislation is constantly growing and developing. New rules and practices

Despite the overwhelming significance of the rights protected and guaranteed by the Fourth
Amendment, many questions and concerns existed regarding police and court procedures and
practices. The most important of those questions was whether or not illegally obtained evidence could
be used in courts. Before 1914, any evidence obtained by the police could be used in both Federal and
State courts, regardless of any constitutional violations that might have taken place during the search
and seizure of that evidence. Such practice has spawned multiple occurrences of police misconduct.
Before that date, many police officers did not follow constitutional requirements. They could freely
search individuals and households and seize evidence without appropriate warrants. Needless to say,
that such poor performance resulted in illegal arrests and unjust prosecutions of innocent people. One
of such cases had become a landmark and initiated the long process of reforms in regard to the Fourth
Amendment and police conduct. The Supreme Court articulation of the exclusionary rule has come in
Weeks v. United States case in 1914. That case has changed the Fourth Amendment and related laws
forever. The defendant, Mr. Freemont Weeks was convicted based on the evidence illegally seized
from him during the warrantless search. The appeal was initiated by the defense attorney, thus
bringing the case to the attention of the highest Court. The United

Bank Regulation Essay
Bank Regulation Before the advent of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 1933 and
the general conception of government safety nets, the United States banking industry was quite
different than it is today. Depositors assumed substantial default risk and even the slightest changes in
consumer confidence could result in complete turmoil within the banking world. In addition, bank
managers had almost complete discretion over operations. However, today the financial system is
among the most heavily government regulated sectors of the U.S. economy. This drastic change in
public policy resulted directly from the industry s numerous pre regulatory failures and major
disruptions that produced severe economic and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Differences in banking regulations across borders permit the most efficient channeling of funds from
lenders to borrowers, leading to increased investment and thus increased GDP. Therefore it is
imperative that policy makers prudently evaluate the possible consequences and benefits of
harmonized banking regulations, as demonstrated by similar regulations instituted domestically,
before any such endeavor is embarked upon. During the 1930s, the most prominent reason for U.S.
banking regulation was to prevent bank panics and more economic disaster like those that had been
experienced during the Great Depression. Later deregulation and financial innovation in industrialized
countries during the 1980s eroded banks monopoly power, thus weakening their banking systems and
seeming to embody the fears of post Depression policy makers who instituted regulation in the first
place. Fear that individual bank failures could spread across international borders creates pressure to
harmonize bank regulation worldwide. One advocate suggests that universal banking, at least for
industrialized countries with internationally active banks, would level the playing field by eliminating
competitive advantages created by government subsidies. Although this is a valid point, one of the
major driving forces behind the globalization of the banking world is the ability of banks to take

College Is A Life Changing Experience For Students
Students Should Live in Dorms
College is a life changing experience for students. College is a new environment for most students and
comes with lots of challenges. Things such as the increased difficulty of academic work and not being
around the same social groups as a student was before college can make the transition very difficult.
One of the best things a student can do to help with this transition is to live in a campus residence hall.
Students should live in dorms because of the community that this creates. Students will gain many
beneficial social interactions, will be able to better complete academic work, and will ease the
adjustment to college life.
Social Interactions Living in the college dorms will allow students many beneficial social interactions
that they would otherwise not have. College dorms are usually divided into floors. Each floor will
have a Resident Assistant that reports to a Resident Director. The Resident Assistant will organize
events for the floor so that the students living together can get to know each other. This is a great
opportunity for the students to meet and find others that have similar interests or majors. Throughout
the semester there will be floor meetings and activities that will help the students meet new people and
make more friends. Generally students will have at least one roommate. This can be someone you
know or it could be randomly assigned. This is a great opportunity to make a good friend when you

  • 5. Essay On The Art Of Camille Corot When I first saw this painting done by Camille Corot, I was in awe. It was one of the many beautiful paintings that I saw on my first trip to the Fine Arts Museum of Houston. The painting looks almost dreamlike and soft, which amazed me on how a painter could create an art piece as such. This piece is called Orpheus Leading Eurydice from the Underworld, by Camille Corot, French, 1861, the medium is oil on canvas. I was immediately attracted to this art piece because of the earthy and naturalistic colors used, and how the landscape seems almost hazy. This enchanting painting tells the tragic Greek myth of Orpheus, the Greek god of music, saving his wife, Eurydice, from Hades, God of the Underworld. Orpheus absentmindedly breaks the terms of ... This firm resolve will stop me forming any serious attachments. That is to say, I shall not get married . I like the softness of how Corot painted this art piece. The painting, to me, looks simple yet topographical, due to the trees and bushes painted. What I did not like about this piece is the way he depicted the Underworld. The Underworld is said to be very dark and gloomy, due to all the dead spirits living there, but Corot paints it with light and lush, making it look anything but eerie. He uses Time and motion by showing Orpheus legs in a walking position, whilst holding Eurydice arm, leading her out of the Hades Underworld. Also, the texture of the trees and bushes have a realistic topographical and layered appearance with shades of blacks and browns. Since Corot is a landscape painter, he often uses atmospheric perspective to create the illusion of depth. He shows the spirits mourning their death in the background with shades of cool tones and uses light colors, while emphasizing Eurydice and Orpheus in the foreground with more deep and darker colors. Another element I ve seen in Corot s painting is his use of space, he shows Orpheus and Eurydice on the corner right while the rest of the image is more focused on his beautiful landscape in the background. Additionally, the focal point that immediately caught my eyes attention was the spirits depicted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Ponzi Scheming Before the exposure of his scheme, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities seemed to be a normal investment firm (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Bernie was a well respected in the financial industry, evidenced by being named chairman of the NASDAQ and by being asked to testify before congress (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Bernie s brother, Peter served as the head of compliance in the legitimate trading side of the firm. While Peter was technically savvy, Bernie was anything but (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). His computer was set up to report financial news and nothing else (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). He didn t have an email account, and it was said that he could barely turn his computer on (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). At the next level of the firm were Bernie s sons, Mark and Andy (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Andy was seen as the more intellectual of the two, but mostly unapproachable (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). He had a good understanding of the complex issues facing the firm (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Mark, on the other hand was more of a charismatic leader. He has been described as easygoing and low key (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Not surprisingly, like a typical family owned and operated business, many of the employees were long term employed with several staying for ten years or more (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Seemingly, people enjoyed working for Bernie (Bandler Varchaver, 2009). Evidence can be seen of his compassion: In 2002 a rookie trader ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Four Views On Salvation Readers SUMMARY OF THE BOOK In the four views on salvation readers are presented by major advocates of the following views: pluralist by John Hick, inclusivist by Clark Pinnock, particularist by Alister McGrath, and evidentialist by R. Douglas Geivett and W. Gary Phillips. The primary contention of the book is about if Jesus is the only Savior? And if that is true, then what happens with those who profess faith and salvation outside of Jesus Christ. The Four Views of Salvation are a single volume that introduced the reader to the basic positions within evangelicalism The editors stated that the term pluralism favors many religions with salvific norms, inclusivism relates to salvation in every cultural norm, and exclusivism and the restrictivism have a prejudicial connotation and prevent true dialogue and argument. Therefore they proposed the term particularism be used instead; however, all four contributors to the book used the term of their personal preference or the term that they felt best advanced their viewpoint. The primary questions are: Where is salvation found? What happens to sincere people of other faiths? What about those who never hear the gospel? The idea for the book arose out of the 1992 Wheaton Theology Conference that brought evangelicals together to discuss the challenges of pluralism and inclusivism. Religious pluralism is the greatest challenge facing Christianity in our culture, Dennis L. Okholm and Timothy R. Phillips assembled the writings of five ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This bigotry is not as rampant and explicit as the protests and riots we see on TV, but it is slowly grown, like a tumor, noticed only by a careful eye. A debate in class taken place a few weeks ago shows this perfectly. As our class argues about government imposed hiring quotas, it became clear that the majority of the kids in the room wanted an all white workplace. They didn t speak poorly about minorities, they simply implied that they were lesser than the dominant race in Hudson, caucasian. This upset me. Over a decade ago Tupac wrote an inspirational song named, Life goes on. Life goes on, seems to be about the streets taking people s lives, and how even though you lose someone, you can t waste time mourning because that not what the victim would want you to do; the victim would want you to live your life because they are not coming back. Transportation is the system of road transportation, rail transportation, marine transportation and air transportation. Transportation always played an important role in the history of Canada because of building the railway system many provinces such as British Columbia and Prince Edward Island agreed to join Confederation. The first Canada s railway line was built in 1836 and the first railway system was completed and opened in 1885. November 8, 1885, the first rail train traveled across Canada from sea to sea. There were the first steps of transportation s history of Canada. Transportation is an essential component of the Canadian economy. The transportation s system makes possible to Canada to trade and develop local and international businesses. Canadians like to think of themselves as residents of an autonomous nation, but increasingly, local and national politics are dictated by the global shipping network. • 14. Curriculum And Instruction For Atypical Learners Today s teachers face many challenges in the classroom. Teachers are held accountable to provide rigorous, relevant instruction that meets the needs of all students. In addition, teachers must also provide accommodations and modifications of assignments for students who have special needs or disabilities which may hinder them in a regular educational setting. These types of general education instructional adaptations are the focus of one of my Master s coursework studies, Modification of Curriculum and Instruction for Atypical Learners (SPED 5366). Through the course, I gain knowledge which allows me better understand how to meet the educational needs of these atypical learners. During the course, I created an application assignment with a teaching tool that meets the needs of a student who struggle in the area of Science. In addition, I implement the lesson with the student and reflect on the experience (see Appendix A Gummy Bear Science). I chose the atypical learner lesson as an example of my showcase work because it reinforces how to effectively assess a struggling student s strengths in a subject instead of focusing on their weaknesses. In the assignment, I provide an instructional plan that best meets the needs of the struggling learner. Instructional planning recognizes and supports the classroom as a community to which age peers belong, where they can and should be nourished as individual learners (Lawrence Brown, 2004, p. 36). Marx And Friedrich Engels s Impact On The 21st Century Looking back at these two works written in the mid to late 19th century, it has become clear the benefits and detrimental aspects of the opinions of the writers. The statements and arguments made by each author will be considered in the general impact each philosopher had on the 21st century. In 1848 when Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote the first edition of the book that would define their worldview, they saw an issue with the fragmentation of the communist beliefs and were commissioned to put the beliefs of the communists into a clear document to demonstrate what they stood for. Many of their ideas are now outdated, and some have been implemented in current society with unsuccessful results. Marx advocates the violent overthrow of governments to equalize the people of the country, rationalizing it as a way to overthrow the regime of the bourgeoisie. As seen in history, this can often lead to a state where the country is plunged into civil war or genocide, with an equally oppressive or more tyrannical leader than before. The attempt of leaders of many nation states to adapt Marx s ideas of nationalizing the agricultural process has resulted in increased costs for the consumers of the nations, and preventing them from negotiating trade contracts. The spread of globalization has increased, but contrary to the beliefs of Marx, there has not been a push to remove the borders of nation states because of the similarities of the nation s workforces. • 23. Being An Organ Donor Before They Die The first strategy suggested being Education; some educational efforts focus on increasing the number of people who consent to be an organ donor before they die, and others focus on educating families when they are considering giving consent for their deceased loved one s organs. Another potential strategy is mandated choice where every individual would have to indicate their wishes regarding organ transplantation in legal documents e.g. drivers licenses and hospitals must comply with the written wishes of the individual regardless of what their family may want. This method has a positive aspect in that it enforces the concept of individual autonomy, but the downside being that it requires an enormous level of trust in the medical system. Presumed consent is a third strategy where citizens organs are taken after they die, unless a person specifically requests not to donate while still living. Many worries with this method is that the general public would have to be educated and well informed about organ donation, which is difficult to adequately achieve. Also, this approach requires people who wish to opt out to take action and this might unfairly burden some people e.g. minority cultural groups and immigrants might find it most challenging to opt out of donating due to language barriers and transportation difficulties. God as Author of Morality There is always controversy around when we bring any topic related to religion to the table and it is not different when we talk about morality. This paper will explore the controversial side that plays religion and morality in the hunt of finding the author of what we know as social norms. In this philosophy paper, we will discuss the origin and evolution of the Divine Command Theory and we will analyze an objections against this theory cited by Plato (Atenas, 427 347 a. C.) who states: morality and moral obligations ultimately do not depend on God. First of all, we will discuss the origin end evolution of Divine Command Theory. There are three central assumptions about the correlation between morality and religion. We may focus on one out of those three assumptions. This assumption points out that somehow there is a direct relation between a divine being and what is morally appropriate. Russ Shafer Landua explains this argument by claiming: Morality must be created by someone, and God is by far the best candidate. (2014 The Fundaments of Ethics p.63) God s omniscience (all knowing) is which gives the best credentials for designing a moral code. Palm Oil Growth And Sustainability Palm Oil Growth in Peru Slows as Land Suitability and Sustainability Take Top Priority Palm is a tree crop suited to cultivation in climatic conditions similar to those of the tropical rainforest. From 1999 to 2009, global production more than doubled. Thirty years ago, palm oil accounted for less than 2 percent but now accounts for 37 percent of vegetable oil consumption worldwide, and palm has displaced soy as the world s most important vegetable oil. Palm oil is used as a biofuel, for cooking, and in a wide range of other items, including food products, cosmetics, soaps and detergents. Malaysia and Indonesia produce 85 percent of the world s palm oil. Expansion in these two countries is expected to diminish by 2022, however, as land suitable for additional palm oil production dwindles. As an alternative, developers are looking to other regions for expansion, including Latin America. Estimates suggest that Peru has the second largest area potentially suitable for increased oil palm production within this region. Area Expansion In 2003, the Peruvian government announced that the production of biofuels, including palm oil, would be a priority. Before 2006, palm expansion in Peru was slow and occurred mainly on already cleared land (mostly pastures and secondary growth forests, as opposed to old growth forests.) Cause And Effect Essay On Left Handedness The Causes and Effects of Left Handedness Observed in Individuals For thousands of years, there has been evidence of humans fascination with handedness, particularly regarding left handed individuals. In the past, southpaws have been represented as a sign of evil, mental illness, defiance, creative and music ability, and empathy. As a result of these clichés, left handers, had been alienated in the past. However, in more recent developments, psychologists and neurologists alike have investigated the potential causes of this rare trait, looking to genetics and early childhood development for answers and, more importantly, part of the effects that handedness has on left handers mentally, physically, and socially. While scientists still have not been able to find a definitive cause for becoming left handed, many believe it to be based on factors such as genetics and neurological health. For instance, one study from the University of Leicester, believes that the answer to this question lies in our genes, each person carrying a recessive gene for left handedness, either inheriting it ourselves or passing it on to future generations. Furthermore, other theories support this idea, evidencing how two left handed individuals are far more likely to produce offspring that are also dominantly left handed as opposed to two right handed individuals. However, this conjecture has yet to be proven, leaving the work of other scientists to explain this phenomenon. Fortunately, some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Seeing her struggle with an almost debilitating fear of illness naturally lead to towards trying to better understand the complex interplay of disease and emotions. I am naturally curious. In Pakistan due to limited resources and lack of foreign trained professionals, the government hospitals affiliated with my medical school have no separate Neurology departments. Instead of this being a hindrance, I considered it a mixed blessing. My curiosity was kindled and I studied neuroanatomy and neurology with more vigor than most. My desire for learning took me to the USA for clinical electives at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where I had the best experience in a short time frame. • 32. Improvalizing The Song Anything Goes By Ella Fitzgerald Anything Goes Topic 2 In the song Anything Goes performed by vocalist Ella Fitzgerald, the band plays without vocals around one minute and fifty four seconds. The band is improvising because it is a new melody playing over the original chord progression. The aspects of the music that helped me determine this was because when it switched to the band solo, I could hear the original tune of the song and could sing along as if the vocalist was still singing, even though there was a new melody. Improvising in jazz has a slightly different meaning than how most people use it today. Before taking this course, I would ve thought that improvising was to perform something spontaneously. The painting of Olive Trees in a Mountainous Landscape was complementary to The Starry Night. The landscapes are in a pattern of curves as painting from The Starry Night. Van Gogh s unique painting technique, impasto was used. The characteristic style of divisionism is used by painting multiple strokes with varieties of colors. It is decided character of each horizontal zone of this turbulent work that keeps the picture from succumbing to the dullness of chaos, which so often results from an artist s immersion in pure feeling. He expressed his feelings about his religion of Christianity through painting olive trees. Van Gogh painted olive trees to show how France can be demanding and compelling place. Olive trees are painted included a religious meaning with overtly using traditional Christian imagery. The image is dominated by the swelling rhythm of the earth, the swirling cloud, and undulating mountains. Van Gogh considered the countryside to be a rejuvenating antidote to the enervating decadence of the modern city. Olive trees are singled out as motif and images that he saw as being the essential that makes up the enduring character of Provence. Moreover, Van Gogh s passionate of painting fills the entire landscape land of grass, olive trees, mountains, and clouds, with a tumultuous disordered motion. The painting is more powerful and imaginative as expressionist art, which proceeded from a similar, emotionally charged vision of nature. After Van Gogh voluntarily entered the asylum at Saint Rémy in the south of France in the spring of 1889, he wrote his brother Theo: I did a landscape with olive trees and also a new study of a starry sky. Although nomadic, American Indians were initially seen as quite technologically advanced (in comparison to other indigenous people the British had encountered). Signs of civilisation by western standards were evident. Some communities had established farms, fishing facilities and trading, while many Indian tribes were also formidable military opponents. Ottawa Chief, Potiac, had successfully demonstrated defiance of crown rule over their land by briefly seizing British military posts (Chartrand, 2010). Throughout the colonising effort, British powers quickly established that Canada was not terra nullius. By 1763, the Royal Proclamation declared King George III as the ultimate dominion over North America, but title rights to land belonged to First Nation People. Only through treaties between tribes and the crown, could land be sold or ceded. Furthermore, upon selling or trading land, native title was also seen to have extinguished (Dickason, 1992; Robinson, 1991). The Royal Proclamation is still in effect these days, with the Indian Act enforcing Indigenous lands to be vested with the Crown. Consequently, this law has created a sense of distrust between Canadian government and First Nation people, similar to the cynicism between many Australian Aboriginal communities and their federal government. There is a general belief that North American lands are still in jeopardy, as long as legal titles remain outside of Indigenous people s control. Despite the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Crime Is A Major Problem Literature review Crime is a major problem in Memphis (the Bluff City) that have reached numerous communities in areas such as Frayser (Anthony, Hunter, Jewell, Johnson, Mooreland, 2006). Crime has been a major concern in the bluff city. However, there are certain crimes that are more alarming than others in this region. Crimes such as homicides, home invasions, and kidnapping. Due to the frequencies of the crimes, my focus will center on the problem of assaults and burglaries in the North Memphis area that occur on a daily basis (Buchner, 1998). Assaults An assault is defined as an unlawful attack on another person for the purpose of afflicting serious physical injury (Alexander, 2003, p. 13). An assault is usually achieved by the use of a weapon to inflict death or great bodily harm. Assaults have increased in the city of Memphis when viewing a 10 year trend (Alexander, 2003). According to Fyfe (1982) Memphis rates for assaults toward African American individuals were higher compared to Caucasian individuals. The disparity yields a black death from police shootings while unarmed and no assaultive were 5.4 percentage to 100,000 of the population. This rate was 18 times higher than the comparable white race of 0.3 (Fyfe, 1982). The individuals who experienced assaults by officers were unarmed and the end result was death. Burglaries Memphis is ranked first in the nation for the highest number of burglaries per 100,000 population (Buchner, 1998). Burglary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Posadas Research Paper Las Posadas is Spanish for The Inns , and it is a religious festival celebrated across Mexico and some parts of the United States. It is held between December 16 and 24, and lasts for nine evenings. The Posada begins with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, a beautiful prayer to the Mother of Jesus, Mary. It finally ends with the Posada and Midnight Mass on December 24th. It commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a location where Mary could give birth. When they weren t able to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were forced to seek shelter in a stable, where Jesus was born. The tradition of the Posadas was brought to Mexico from Spain in the 1500 s by Catholic Missionaries, and are not to be confused with simply a Christmas party. Despite the overwhelming significance of the rights protected and guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment, many questions and concerns existed regarding police and court procedures and practices. The most important of those questions was whether or not illegally obtained evidence could be used in courts. Before 1914, any evidence obtained by the police could be used in both Federal and State courts, regardless of any constitutional violations that might have taken place during the search and seizure of that evidence. Such practice has spawned multiple occurrences of police misconduct. Before that date, many police officers did not follow constitutional requirements. They could freely search individuals and households and seize evidence without appropriate warrants. Needless to say, that such poor performance resulted in illegal arrests and unjust prosecutions of innocent people. One of such cases had become a landmark and initiated the long process of reforms in regard to the Fourth Amendment and police conduct. The Supreme Court articulation of the exclusionary rule has come in Weeks v. United States case in 1914. That case has changed the Fourth Amendment and related laws forever. Bank Regulation Essay Bank Regulation Before the advent of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 1933 and the general conception of government safety nets, the United States banking industry was quite different than it is today. Depositors assumed substantial default risk and even the slightest changes in consumer confidence could result in complete turmoil within the banking world. In addition, bank managers had almost complete discretion over operations. However, today the financial system is among the most heavily government regulated sectors of the U.S. economy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Differences in banking regulations across borders permit the most efficient channeling of funds from lenders to borrowers, leading to increased investment and thus increased GDP. Therefore it is imperative that policy makers prudently evaluate the possible consequences and benefits of harmonized banking regulations, as demonstrated by similar regulations instituted domestically, before any such endeavor is embarked upon. During the 1930s, the most prominent reason for U.S. banking regulation was to prevent bank panics and more economic disaster like those that had been experienced during the Great Depression. Later deregulation and financial innovation in industrialized countries during the 1980s eroded banks monopoly power, thus weakening their banking systems and seeming to embody the fears of post Depression policy makers who instituted regulation in the first place. Fear that individual bank failures could spread across international borders creates pressure to harmonize bank regulation worldwide. One advocate suggests that universal banking, at least for industrialized countries with internationally active banks, would level the playing field by eliminating competitive advantages created by government subsidies. Although this is a valid point, one of the major driving forces behind the globalization of the banking world is the ability of banks to take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

College is a new environment for most students and comes with lots of challenges. Things such as the increased difficulty of academic work and not being around the same social groups as a student was before college can make the transition very difficult. One of the best things a student can do to help with this transition is to live in a campus residence hall. Students should live in dorms because of the community that this creates. Students will gain many beneficial social interactions, will be able to better complete academic work, and will ease the adjustment to college life. Social Interactions Living in the college dorms will allow students many beneficial social interactions that they would otherwise not have. College dorms are usually divided into floors. Each floor will have a Resident Assistant that reports to a Resident Director. The Resident Assistant will organize events for the floor so that the students living together can get to know each other. This is a great opportunity for the students to meet and find others that have similar interests or majors. Throughout the semester there will be floor meetings and activities that will help the students meet new people and make more friends. Generally students will have at least one roommate.
