Hepatitis Research Paper
Blood borne viral infections can be very dangerous, even deadly, if contacted. One of these viral
infections is known as hepatitis. Hepatitis, or simply hep, is a disease caused by the inflation of the
liver due to the infection of a virus. Today s medical technology has helped us identify five different
types of hepatitis, though there may be more. The most common types are Hepatitis A, B, and C.
Hepatitis A is both the least common and the least dangerous of these three forms. In fact, most people
fully recover and won t have any permanent damage, and it is rarely fatal. It is spread through sexual
contact or the ingestion of fecal matter, which may seem rare; however, even microscopic amounts
can cause the disease. The symptoms include

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Fear
How does the author, John Boyne, of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas explore the notion of fear in the
novel? Refer to social context
John Boyne s historical fable, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, is an optimistic narration of World War
Two set in the Out With concentration camp. In the background of the war, the story details the life of
male protagonist Bruno, who befriends the unlikeliest of strangers in his attempt to adjust to life at
Out With. In Boyne s portrayal of this dictatorship, the characters go through life controlled by the
notion of fear, only escaping its grasp through the most dramatic of circumstances. The didactic text
paints a picture of how we don t have a choice when we are being controlled by our fear (p.8). Thus,

During chapter two, Boyne characterises Bruno s fear through the use of dialogue where Bruno froze,
unable to move for a moment (p.17). By implementing this somewhat clichéd metaphor, Boyne paints
a vivid picture of the fear Bruno feels after betraying social etiquette. Bruno knows what he did was
wrong, and later awaits to be called into Father s office to be punished. Boyne introduces the setting of
Father s office as being Out of Bounds At All Times And No Exceptions (p.44). From Boyne s
introduction of the office with capitalisation, Boyne emphasises to the audience that Bruno views the
office as Out of Bounds , suggesting deep set fear towards Father as Bruno has a negative connotation
towards Father s office. This relationship built on the basis of fear is similar in substance to the
relationship between Father and the Fury. Boyne briefly explores this relationship during a literary
flashback. The dialogue where Father states how he has no choice demonstrates to the reader how, like
Bruno, Father was afraid of the repercussions which would occur by going against the rules set in
place by the Fury. This is the basis of the tactic used by hijackers asking for ransom money, they instil
fear in their victims to ensure that they will obey as Father obeys the Fury by moving to Out With.
Consequently, from his character development, Boyne

Racial Discrimination And Religion
Racial discrimination and religion are among the most discussed personal and public policy topics
today. The United States is often divided over issues that have these differences at their heart. From
the controversy surrounding confederate monuments in public locations to freedom of religion, the
country, it seems, can never come together and agree in these areas. These issues have, in fact, been
hot topics for discussion and disagreement for centuries. Even in the Antebellum period, people were
at odds with each other attempting to resolve differences that, while they were unique for their time,
still were manifestations of the same larger issues of race and religion. In those days, there was great
fervor related to both the Great Awakening and rise of abolitionism in response to the slave system of
the South that persisted into the 19th century. The Great Awakening refers to a dramatic rise in the
popularity in evangelical religion in America. The First Great Awakening took place in the early to
mid 18th century while English speaking America was still made up of colonies that were owned by
the British. The Second Great Awakening, which is more pertinent to this research, reached its peak
early in the 19th century. During the Second Great Awakening there was a dramatic swell in
evangelical church membership occurred in denominations like the Baptists and Methodists, whose
ministers were the leaders of the movement. Religious discord could come from a variety of sources,

The Instruction Of Spoken Language
The instruction of spoken language is one of the most important for language classrooms since
communication has been the main priority for language teachers. The use of discourse analysis (DA)
for language teaching (LT) has been indispensable; due to the immense number of elements that
contribute significantly to this field. In addition, Schiffrin et al. (2001:707) cited Olshtain and Celce
Murcia who claim that pragmatics and DA are related to language teaching. Both of these create
essential connections that make teaching of spoken language relevant; nevertheless, there are more
elements are linked to DA and the instruction of this productive skill.
The aim of this paper is to examine how DA relates and benefits LT. First, I would like to ... Show

For this reason, spoken production can be improved if these elements are taught adequately.
Nevertheless, a question may be aroused after this, what amount of vocabulary, grammar and
phonology do instructors need to teach?
Teaching speaking effectively goes in hand with DA and several language applications which focus on
how oral speech needs to be delivered. Hence, vocabulary one of the three main elements is the one
that deals with the lexicon of the language. Instructors need to teach words in context; as a
consequence, the new lexis will be storage faster and it will be ready to be used either in spoken or
written language (Scrivener 2011:200).
Therefore, vocabulary plays an important role in the instruction of spoken language. Nonetheless,
words can express more than one meaning and this can cause a couple of difficulties to students while
they are learning such language. As part of this, if DA takes place in the classroom, it can be found
easily that words may vary from meaning to meaning. In addition, DA and semantics also alter the
way that speakers select words to be used. Finch (2003) defines semantics as the study of the
meaning; thus, what words or utterances can be meant at the moment of using them. By the same
token, Lakoff and Johnson (1990) claim that there are two types of meaning literal and figurative . The
first one represents what it has been said; whereas the second one focuses on the hidden

Questions On The Word Equity
Introduction
The word equity has numerous meanings and to various people it is a symbol of fairness or justice.
The origin of equity can be traced to the deficiencies of the common law. Beyond question, common
law had flaws where any solution is unavailable or where there was an availability of a remedy but it
was not fit for the plaintiff loss. Moreover, the common law was studded with formality. If two parties
engage in a verbal contract in case of common law, common law under no circumstances will spot the
contract not provide any remedy to it. This was one of the major flaws because whatever be the
circumstances. In many cases equity stepped up and provided remedies irrespective of the fact that
there was a lack of formality. The main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the last 50 years there has been immense change in the law of equity. This can be well justified
by the maxim, for example, where the equities are same, the first in time happens , and the impact on
happenings, as well as interest which are conflicting in nature and the maxim equity behave in
personam its impact on the working of the law outside the judgement. The whole structure has been
implemented with the aim of providing maximum benefit. The statement flexible when law appears to
be dominant, discretionary when law appears to be obligatory and humane in its concern for justice
rather than rights clearly signifies the development of equity over the past 50 years. As a matter of
fact, equity entails discretionary features both in terms of application and even its extent which have a
deep impact on the issue related to domestic, as well as international law . By and by equitable
principles came out as a support to the Roman, as well as English common law which are done in
order to enhance or correct the body of civil law.
Maxim
The maxim of equity can be well described from the statement and the well defined principles which
are laid down so as to control the manner of the operation of the equity principles. This helps to
project the features of equity and in particular contrary to the common law which has a flexible nature,
impactful considering the need of the particular person and more focussed to

Essay on The Transcontinental Railroad And Westward...
The Transcontinental Railroad and Westward Expansion
Thesis: The transcontinental railroad greatly increased Westward expansion in the United States of
America during the latter half of the nineteenth century.
The history of the United States has been influenced by England in many ways.
In the second half of the 1800 s, the railroad, which was invented in England, had a major effect on
Western expansion in the United States.
quot;Railroads were born in England, a country with dense populations, short distances between cities,
and large financial resources. In America there were different circumstances, a sparse population in a
huge country, large stretches between cities, and only the smallest amounts of
money. quot; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romantics dreamed of the discoveries of wild Indians, scouts and hunters, and, of course, gold. Gold
had been a desired find throughout the exploration of America. The California Gold Rush of 1849
again created much excitement about the search for gold.
The Pacific Railroads were founded when the Civil War was in progress. Until the war was over, the
transcontinental railroad was a giant enterprise stalled by much bickering between a reluctant
Congress and the Army, who had clamored for it (Cooke 254). If it had been left to the government, it
would have taken another twenty years to complete the transcontinental railroad. However, it was a
commercial venture, and it was fortunately fed by the adrenaline of competition. There were two
railroad companies building the transcontinental railroad, the Union Pacific from the East, and the
Central Pacific from the West.
The two companies struggled to beat each other in slamming down a record mileage of track. At first,
Congress avidly pursued the project and they had stipulated that the Central Pacific should stop when
it reached the California Border
(Congress was full of Easterners). In 1865, after much argument about the aid the government was
providing to the two companies, the actual construction of the transcontinental railroad was started.
Then in 1866, Congress decided that two companies

More than two million enterprises have women in management positions, but gender inequality in the
workplace at small and medium sized enterprises is still a big problem in our world today. According
to a study done by Workingmums, more than two thousand women said they ve had flexible working
requests turn down. This can be really hard on these women because most of them need these flexible
hours because they re supporting a family. An enterprise called The Typeface Group is trying to help
their workers and they offer flexibility to all their women. There s no glass ceiling at this enterprise
but this is usually not the case at other companies. A company with the name DAME made an effort to
secure funding for women and this led to many problems such as sexism. Men started to go against
this business because the co founder had children that men thought were getting in the way of her
growing the business. Sarah Andersen, the head of people science at HR software company, Fairsail,
believes that businesses have an unconscious gender bias that s rooted in both men and women. When

The Ethics Of Embryonic Stem Cells
Problem
The society is not at an agreeable point when it comes to the research of stem cells obtained from
human embryos. The disagreement narrows down to a clash between the two fundamental principles
of ethics: The duty to prevent and alleviate suffering, and the duty to respect the value of human life.
In most situations, both principles can be satisfied. However, in the research of embryonic stem cells,
it might not be inherently possible.
Generally, the clash between the two principles is not created by a violation of the duty to prevent or
alleviate suffering. In fact, it is the prime purpose of the research. On the other hand, depending on the
consideration of the statues of the embryo, the research might violate the duty to respect the value of
life. If the embryo is considered a person, its research would be a violation to human life; if the
embryo is not considered a person, there would be no violation to human life. Such consideration of
the human embryo is the factor responsible for the clash.
What do the statues of the embryo and the ethical principle of life have to do with the research of
embryonic stem cells? Well, in order to perform a research, a new line of stem cells has to be
developed. When the cells are extracted from the blastocyst, the embryo is destroyed since it cannot
persist without its inner cells. If the embryo is considered a person, we are then killing a person, as
well as violating the ethical principle of respecting the value of life.

The Practice Of Corporal Punishment In Schools
For decades leading back to slavery, corporal punishment has been used as a form of discipline to
correct misbehavior on the plantation. In today s society, it has been used by parents and even
incorporated into our schools as a form of punishment. In Kenyan schools it is used as form of
classroom management and to punish children for poor academic performance (Kenyan children
suffer frequent beatings by teachers, 1999). Corporal punishment, according to the Committee on the
Rights of the Child, is the use of physical force with the intention to cause some degree of pain or
discomfort, however light. In schools, it mostly involves the use of the hand, a ruler or belt to strike a
person across the back or hand. But it can also involve, for example, shaking, pinching or forcing
students to stay in uncomfortable positions (Committee on the Rights of the Child, 2006).
The practice of corporal punishment in schools as a form of discipline is dated back to ancient times
(Greven, 1992). In the early civilizations of Egypt and Babylonia, the practice of physical punishment
is related to the severity of the curriculum and atmosphere of schools. Also, it is recorded in history
books, that corporal punishment was used in schools in the Western Judeo Christian cultures. This is
because in the Christian culture, as still been referred to and practiced today, many still believed in the
scripture according to Proverbs 13 verse 24 which states one should not spare the road and spoil the

List Price And Agent Feedback On The Weekly Calls
As RMS has indicated many times, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of
assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS continues to believe on many of these assets, the
condition or location of the property is the primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list
price, but ultimately a sales price well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended
days on market and increased carrying costs incurred by the trust. This is an ongoing issue observed
with Altisource and discussed on the weekly calls.
List price continues to be the biggest concern and is a frequent topic during our weekly target assets
and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing activity, property condition, agent
feedback and offers (or lack thereof).
RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative to our
opinion of market value. On listed assets with DOM of more than 60 days and no offers, RMS and
Altisource discuss the list price and agent feedback to understand why offers have not been received.
RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks.
Another recent observation is a continued increase in the number of assets in pending contracts that
fall out because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. RMS continued to observe this in
January 2016. We believe this relates to the process by which Altisource sells REO assets (on the
HUBZU website), where

Implementing The Awareness And Training Program
Implementing: An IT security awareness and training program should be implemented only after a
needs assessment has been conducted, a strategy has been developed, an awareness and training
program plan for implementing that strategy has been completed, and awareness and training material
has been developed.
The program s implementation must be fully explained to the organization to achieve support for its
implementation and commitment of necessary resources. This explanation includes expectations of
agency management and staff support, as well as expected results of the program and benefits to the
organization. Funding issues must also be addressed. For example, agency managers must know if the
cost to implement the awareness and training ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
See NIST SP 800 50, Section 5, for techniques for delivering awareness and training material.
Post Implementation
An organization s IT security awareness and training program can quickly become obsolete if
sufficient attention is not paid to technology advancements, IT infrastructure and organizational
changes, and shifts in organizational mission and priorities. CIOs and IT security program managers
need to be cognizant of this potential problem and incorporate mechanisms into their strategy to
ensure the program continues to be relevant and compliant with overall objectives. Continuous
improvement should always be the theme for security awareness and training initiatives, as this is one
area where you can never do enough.
Monitoring Compliance: Once the program has been implemented, processes must be put in place to
monitor compliance and effectiveness. An automated tracking system should be designed to capture
key information regarding program activity (e.g., courses, dates, audience, costs, sources). The
tracking system should capture this data at an agency level, so that it can be used to provide enterprise
wide analysis and reporting regarding awareness, training, and education initiatives.
Tracking compliance involves assessing the status of the program as indicated by the database
information and mapping it to standards established by the agency. Reports can be generated and used
to identify gaps or problems. Corrective

Mountain s root. It is almost dark so that its vastness can only be dimly guessed, but rising from the
near side of the rocky floor there is a great glow. The glow of Smaug! (Tolkien 215). This particular
passage that describes a horrific scene about a dragon, is from a novel called The Hobbit, and was
written by J.R.R Tolkien. Later on, this book was also made into a movie, which was directed by Peter

the author s purpose. The story is about a young Hobbit, whose name is Bilbo Baggins. Hobbit s are

In the book, it is said that Bilbo is the one who fights Smaug and defeats him. The author wrote, It was
at this point that Bilbo stopped. Going on from there was the bravest thing he ever did. The
tremendous things that happened afterwards were as nothing compared to it. He fought the real battle
in the tunnel alone, before he ever saw the vast danger that lay in wait... (Tolkien 214 215). Here, it
clearly says that Bilbo fights the dragon alone in the mountain, without support from the dwarves. The
purpose for this is to make the readers see that Bilbo is transforming to be much more brave, strong,
and clever. This way, it is more convincing to think that he can take on the big boss all by himself.
J.R.R Tolkien wants Bilbo to be more independent in this situation and not rely on the dwarves. This
impacts the storyline by having the readers look back and compare how Bilbo behaved before he had
any experience of being a burglar. On the other hand, the movie has Smaug conflicting with the rest of
Bilbo s friends, making Bilbo seem useless in the background. Although Bilbo was alone with the
dragon for a few minutes, he had to call the dwarves for help afterward. The movie also has the
dwarves distracting Smaug, and Bilbo had to go along with Thorin s plan, Bilbo was suppose to be in

Realism In Theatre In The 1920s And 30s
In the 19th and 20th century, realism in theatre was a common occurrence. Realism is presenting a
person, thing, or event in its true colors ( Realism ). Even throughout the Great Depression, Broadway
and theaters managed to stay afloat. Its popularity began to surge, and there were 200 to 275 new
shows coming out per year (Early 20th Century Theatre). Most of these shows were strictly for
entertainment. Themes were often romantic, about happy endings and true love. However, some
productions began to turn away from the stereotypes of shows during this time. In the 1920s and 30s,
shows became more extravagant and helped influence some of the most iconic American productions
(Theatre of the 20th Century and Beyond). As a result, shows like

The Idle No More Movement
Friedrich Nietzsche is a German philosopher that has a great influence on Western philosophy. One of
his works called On the Genealogy of Morals discusses an overlying theme of superiority and power
as well as good and bad . This book discusses the difference that the power that superior people have
compared the the weak and poor. Nietzsche exemplifies how the powerful seem to forget about issues
that do not pertain to themselves where as the weak fight for the issues (Nietzsche, 2007, pp 14). This
idea of the powerful overlooking the weak in On the Genealogy of Morals, directly relates to the Idle

The Canadian government has continually entered indigenous protected land to have diamond, gold,

billions of profits. Unfortunately, only little of that profit gained by the Canadian government is given
to the aboriginal peoples. I believe that that the fact that the Canadian government is profiting off of
illegal activity and not sharing a large portion of the profits with the rightful owners of the resources is
wrong. This action and lack of respect for the law goes directly against Nietzsche s idea of
utilitarianism. Nietzsche describes the idea of utilitarianism as involving how we ought to be made of
finer stuff than Utilitarianism (Lecture, 2016). He describes it as a pursuit of pleasure and good that
has a positive and maximized effect for the majority of people (Lecture, 2016). This idea is how
indigenous people live their life. They live their life so that the future generations can use the same
land as they used it. If one person were to destroy the land for the pursuit of profit, then it should
create wealth for the greater number of people. Christoff s article on Idle No More exemplifies this
when Chief Spence says great riches are being taken from our land for the benefit of a few, including
the government of Canada and Ontario, who receive large royalty payments, while we receive so little,

The Issue Of Tainted Infant Formula
INTRODUCTION With an estimated 1.36 billion people within its country the potential for sales is a
major pull for our product in China. The 2008 issues of tainted infant formula where melamine
adulterant was found in Sanlu, was a surprise and deeply affected the trust of the Chine people and its
economy. As a resulted of deaths and other medical related concerns many were hesitant to trust the
product and its manufacture. Our aim is to provide a greatly needed service with minimal disruption
while claiming safety of consumption to the country. This should guarantee us sales while instilling
trust and confidence in our product. Powdered milk would be beneficial to the majority of people in
China because of the accessibility and the various nutrients it offers along with shelf life. It is
currently being used in the manufacturing of baby formula as well as candy so this dismisses the trial
and error phase. The product is and had been made available in situations where countries are in
desperate need of nutrients with a lack of storage facilities. All considerations will be geared to
avoiding any type of catosphery such as in the case of the one which occurred in the country in 2008.
OUTLINE · History o 1802 First modern production by Russian physician Osip Kirchevshy. o 1832

Shirley Heath s What No Bedtime Stories
An individual s interaction with their physical and social environment can have profound influences
on the development and the long term effects of the individual particularly in terms of language
comprehension and usage. Within different environments, the understanding and utilization of
language will be differing based on the circumstances. In Shirley Heath s study, What no bedtime
story means: Narrative skills at home and school, Heath discusses on how interactions between the
parent and child through the avenue of bedtime stories promotes significant development in the
communication, language, literacy, and narratives of the child. Heath focuses on how three literate

From the bedtime storytelling event, the child learns the concept of initiation reply evaluation
sequences which is a centralized component of the classroom setting. Heath emphasizes that from the
literacy event of bedtime stories routine, the children of the mainstream communities secure an
background of reading comprehension at a early age that allows for them to be school successful
individuals (Heath, 1982, p 54). The children are educated in mainstream habits and values of
linguistics because their families have the resources to provide that for them. The community of
Trackton is a working class black community that places a high value on education; however, the
children are unsuccessful in school. In Trackton, the adults do not educate the children in extracting
lessons from books to ways of relating that knowledge to other aspects of the environment (Heath,
1982, p 71). The children learn the various aspects of language based on mainstream ideals and
values, when they have no background in and other children of a different socioeconomic

Essay on The Sun Also Rises
The Sun Also Rises
In Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises, Jake Barnes is a lost man who wastes his life on drinking.
Towards the beginning of the book Robert Cohn asks Jake, Don t you ever get the feeling that all your
life is going by and you re not taking advantage of it? Do you realize that you ve lived nearly half the
time you have to live already? Jake weakly answers, Yes, every once in a while. The book focuses on
the dissolution of the post war generation and how they cannot find their place in life. Jake is an
example of a person who had the freedom to choose his place but chose poorly.
This point of Jake s life is centered on readjusting himself to normal life after World War I. Jake is lost

Jake also at times seems to realize how bad his life is, but then never regrets it. He is in love with Brett
Ashley, but she is always with other people, including Robert Cohn, which makes Jake jealous. This
jealousy turns to anger when Jake gets into a fight with Robert and is then knocked out.
Jake relates to the other characters only superficially because he only looks at what he can get from
them. Jake wants Brett Ashley so that when he gets older he ll have companionship. Jake makes fun of
Robert Cohn to make himself look better than he is by putting someone else down. Jake also uses Bill
Gorton just to keep himself busy and not get bored. Near the end of the book Jake states, Next
morning I tipped every one a little too much at the hotel to make more friends...I did not tip the porter
more than I should because I did not think I would ever see him again. I only wanted a few good
French friends in Bayonne to make me welcome in case I should come back... This statement show
what friends really meant to Jake. They were people that would be some type of service to him.
Unfortunately, Jake does not undergo a change throughout the book. Jake stays the same uncaring,
selfish person from the beginning where Jake said he never thinks about how much he s wasted his
life to Robert Cohn, until the last line where Brett Ashley says, We could have had such a damned
good time together, and

William The Conqueror Oath
Feudalism was a dominant social system in the medieval Europe, in which the nobility held lands
from the Crown in exchange for military service, and vassals were in turn tenants of the nobles, while
the peasants were obliged to on their lord s land and give him homage, labor, and a share of the
produce, notionally in exchange for military protection. It lasted for many centuries, and was
introduced after William I defeated Harold at the Battle of Hastings. William was known as William
the Conqueror. He was known for his defeation over the Enlgish army. He wanted to be the king of
England, but before he could become the king he had to take over all of England. He forced his way to
London, but was not popular with people from England. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He figured that ifthe noblemen were willing to fight with him in battle and possibly lose their lives
that they were probably pretty loyal to him. They still had to work their land though. They had to
collect taxes and provide soldiers to William if war broke out. The noblemen also had to take an oath
before they got this land. They would take the oath over a bible which was a very important thing.
Very few people would break that oath because they feared being condemned to hell. The tenants in
cheif were the nobleman in a particular area. If you took the oath for a certain part of land, then you
are to take care of that land and anything that happens there. If anything is to go wrong you are to act
as if you are William. You are in charge. They soon divided their land into pieces because it was still
too large to govern. The tenants divided their land and the little pieces of land were given to trusted
Norman Knights, but they also had to be willing to fight for the tenants that gave the land. They still
had to collect taxes and provide soldiers as well. The people were always treated pretty harshly and
Norman knights were always a constant threat to fight against the England soldiers. The sub tenants,
the knights, were to keep the English people in their place. That was the only job they had, and if they
failed they were

The Problem Of Network Security
Network security has never been so critical for the last decades. Companies nowadays are at a
potential risks. The use of data is essential for business needs and user s education is a priority. Users
allow companies to manipulate their data on a trust relationship basis. A startup healthcare company
has many challenges in the market as new cyber threats come every seconds which impel network
security administrator to enforce strict rules and measures. A company information technology
structure set up will determine its protection. A risk analysis is important to discover flaws and
recommend measures that administrators need to take. As for any startup company, the needs to a
good information technology structure plan is paramount. ABC Healthcare is new with 50 employees.
According to fig.1 which illustrates the ABC information technology structure the company is at great
risk. The company is equipped with an ISP modem/router that is directly connected to a switch. The
ABC might have installed great antivirus software to protect their system against cyber attacks.
Nevertheless, managing healthcare data in a network with only antivirus is not enough. An antivirus
offers great protection and is an effective way to protect against viruses. However, a firewall is a
necessary tool to help keep attackers off the network based on rules set implicitly to filter the web
traffic and protect files. While antivirus is a great tool to help keep you safe, adding a firewall will

Nuclear Bomb Causes And Effects Essay
After the defeat of Germany, all the Allied powers turned against Japan hoping Japan would surrender.
As a result, the United States developed the nuclear bomb thinking this would bring the end of the
WW II. The cause of the development and dropping of the bombs was for the immediate and
unconditional surrender of the Japanese Empire. The dropping of the nuclear bombs caused a lot of
deaths and loss of territory. Witch made people homeless and even children without family. At first, a
negotiation was made to the Japanese Empire them to surrender. Yet the Japanese Empire would not
surrender or accept the negotiation. The Japanese Empire was a warrior type of county that did not
believe in surrender. They believed in fighting till they are defeated or until they have won. The

Both bombs were dropped in Japan the year of 1945 in August. Little Boy was dropped in Hiroshima
causing a rate of approximate 70,000 Japanese citizens were vaporized. Three days later, Fat Man was
dropped in Nagasaki causing a rate of approximately 80,000 Japanese citizens killed. Years later,
100,000 people died from burns and radiation that was caused from the bombs. The dropping of both
bomb caused an estimate of 220,000 total citizens dead. Mostly women and children were
assassinated in these two fatal days. On August 14, 1945 Japan surrendered unconditionally because
of all the lives lost during the bombing. On these two days, Japan lost more lives than in the entire
World War II. There were many reasons why the atomic bombs were dropped. One of the reasons was
because Truman was under pressure by several sources to make a decision. One of those sources was
his military advisors. Who wanted to plan an invasion but it would cost more money than just
dropping the bombs. So Truman sticked with the plan of using the atomic

Religion and Science Need Each Other
Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind. This famous quote was spoken by a
man even more famous for his scientific works in the fields of physics and mathematics. Albert
Einstein, famous scientist, is found here stating that without religion science is, essentially, useless.
Surely it is impossible for a man so accomplished in the scientific field to seriously consider the
possibility of God? Certainly, we live in a time where there has been much condemnation and ridicule
of the idea of faith by scientists such as Dawkins and Atkins, but does that mean that these two world
views are incompatible? Although I really respect the work of both of those great biologists in my
view, faith and science are definitely compatible. It is in no doubt that science is an excellent tool to
exploit and explore the universe. It is the ability to work out how things work is undeniable. However,
there are seemingly, things which science cannot answer. Namely the question of Why? . Science has
made staggering discoveries into how the universe came about and the way in which it formed, even
down to the purpose for feelings such as fear. But for all the ground breaking discoveries into how the
universe was made, it simply cannot answer why the universe came into existence into first place. A
question religion seems to answer. If we are to stay with subject of creation, we find many places in
which it seems that science and faith not only seem to be present

Enjoy cost benefits from possibility of lower price from Pilla. 2. Reasons why choice 2 may not be
optimal MTS still have very large bargaining power for future productions. Thus, the cost for K Cup
packaging line activities could be driven up significantly. Pilla, being financially insecure, can be a
risk for the roll out schedule in case there is a problem in the manufacturing processes as it links to the
packaging line. Single packaging line supplier and brewer means lower production capacity compared
with Choice 1, this would limit Keurig s future expansion plans to go into the consumer market.
C. Choice 3 Internalize brewer production and work with multiple packaging line suppliers
1. Significance of choice 3 Keurig will gain more control over the production because it ll be easier to
forecast production capacity and there ll be more inventory control. Kuerig already have the people
and the capabilities that it needs. Finally gaining the learning curve: product brewers will help Keurig
to reduce its production costs and thanks to this reduction it ll be easier to sell more brewers to
distributors at less price and less defected products. Working with multiple suppliers on the packaging
line side will give them less bargaining power making us more independent . 2. Reasons why choice 3

  • 2. Hepatitis Research Paper Blood borne viral infections can be very dangerous, even deadly, if contacted. One of these viral infections is known as hepatitis. Hepatitis, or simply hep, is a disease caused by the inflation of the liver due to the infection of a virus. Today s medical technology has helped us identify five different types of hepatitis, though there may be more. The most common types are Hepatitis A, B, and C. Hepatitis A is both the least common and the least dangerous of these three forms. In fact, most people fully recover and won t have any permanent damage, and it is rarely fatal. It is spread through sexual contact or the ingestion of fecal matter, which may seem rare; however, even microscopic amounts can cause the disease. The symptoms include ... • 3. The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Fear How does the author, John Boyne, of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas explore the notion of fear in the novel? Refer to social context John Boyne s historical fable, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, is an optimistic narration of World War Two set in the Out With concentration camp. In the background of the war, the story details the life of male protagonist Bruno, who befriends the unlikeliest of strangers in his attempt to adjust to life at Out With. In Boyne s portrayal of this dictatorship, the characters go through life controlled by the notion of fear, only escaping its grasp through the most dramatic of circumstances. The didactic text paints a picture of how we don t have a choice when we are being controlled by our fear (p.8). Thus, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During chapter two, Boyne characterises Bruno s fear through the use of dialogue where Bruno froze, unable to move for a moment (p.17). By implementing this somewhat clichéd metaphor, Boyne paints a vivid picture of the fear Bruno feels after betraying social etiquette. Bruno knows what he did was wrong, and later awaits to be called into Father s office to be punished. Boyne introduces the setting of Father s office as being Out of Bounds At All Times And No Exceptions (p.44). From Boyne s introduction of the office with capitalisation, Boyne emphasises to the audience that Bruno views the office as Out of Bounds , suggesting deep set fear towards Father as Bruno has a negative connotation towards Father s office. This relationship built on the basis of fear is similar in substance to the relationship between Father and the Fury. Boyne briefly explores this relationship during a literary flashback. The dialogue where Father states how he has no choice demonstrates to the reader how, like Bruno, Father was afraid of the repercussions which would occur by going against the rules set in place by the Fury. This is the basis of the tactic used by hijackers asking for ransom money, they instil fear in their victims to ensure that they will obey as Father obeys the Fury by moving to Out With. Consequently, from his character development, Boyne ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Racial Discrimination And Religion Racial discrimination and religion are among the most discussed personal and public policy topics today. The United States is often divided over issues that have these differences at their heart. From the controversy surrounding confederate monuments in public locations to freedom of religion, the country, it seems, can never come together and agree in these areas. These issues have, in fact, been hot topics for discussion and disagreement for centuries. Even in the Antebellum period, people were at odds with each other attempting to resolve differences that, while they were unique for their time, still were manifestations of the same larger issues of race and religion. In those days, there was great fervor related to both the Great Awakening and rise of abolitionism in response to the slave system of the South that persisted into the 19th century. The Great Awakening refers to a dramatic rise in the popularity in evangelical religion in America. The First Great Awakening took place in the early to mid 18th century while English speaking America was still made up of colonies that were owned by the British. The Second Great Awakening, which is more pertinent to this research, reached its peak early in the 19th century. During the Second Great Awakening there was a dramatic swell in evangelical church membership occurred in denominations like the Baptists and Methodists, whose ministers were the leaders of the movement. • 5. The Instruction Of Spoken Language The instruction of spoken language is one of the most important for language classrooms since communication has been the main priority for language teachers. The use of discourse analysis (DA) for language teaching (LT) has been indispensable; due to the immense number of elements that contribute significantly to this field. In addition, Schiffrin et al. (2001:707) cited Olshtain and Celce Murcia who claim that pragmatics and DA are related to language teaching. Both of these create essential connections that make teaching of spoken language relevant; nevertheless, there are more elements are linked to DA and the instruction of this productive skill. The aim of this paper is to examine how DA relates and benefits LT. First, I would like to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this reason, spoken production can be improved if these elements are taught adequately. Nevertheless, a question may be aroused after this, what amount of vocabulary, grammar and phonology do instructors need to teach? Teaching speaking effectively goes in hand with DA and several language applications which focus on how oral speech needs to be delivered. Hence, vocabulary one of the three main elements is the one that deals with the lexicon of the language. Instructors need to teach words in context; as a consequence, the new lexis will be storage faster and it will be ready to be used either in spoken or written language (Scrivener 2011:200). Therefore, vocabulary plays an important role in the instruction of spoken language. Nonetheless, words can express more than one meaning and this can cause a couple of difficulties to students while they are learning such language. As part of this, if DA takes place in the classroom, it can be found easily that words may vary from meaning to meaning. In addition, DA and semantics also alter the way that speakers select words to be used. Finch (2003) defines semantics as the study of the meaning; thus, what words or utterances can be meant at the moment of using them. By the same token, Lakoff and Johnson (1990) claim that there are two types of meaning literal and figurative . • 6. Questions On The Word Equity Introduction The word equity has numerous meanings and to various people it is a symbol of fairness or justice. The origin of equity can be traced to the deficiencies of the common law. Beyond question, common law had flaws where any solution is unavailable or where there was an availability of a remedy but it was not fit for the plaintiff loss. Moreover, the common law was studded with formality. If two parties engage in a verbal contract in case of common law, common law under no circumstances will spot the contract not provide any remedy to it. This was one of the major flaws because whatever be the circumstances. In many cases equity stepped up and provided remedies irrespective of the fact that there was a lack of formality. The main ... The Transcontinental Railroad and Westward Expansion Thesis: The transcontinental railroad greatly increased Westward expansion in the United States of America during the latter half of the nineteenth century. In the second half of the 1800 s, the railroad, which was invented in England, had a major effect on Western expansion in the United States. quot;Railroads were born in England, a country with dense populations, short distances between cities, and large financial resources. Gold had been a desired find throughout the exploration of America. The California Gold Rush of 1849 again created much excitement about the search for gold. The Pacific Railroads were founded when the Civil War was in progress. Until the war was over, the transcontinental railroad was a giant enterprise stalled by much bickering between a reluctant Congress and the Army, who had clamored for it (Cooke 254). If it had been left to the government, it would have taken another twenty years to complete the transcontinental railroad. However, it was a commercial venture, and it was fortunately fed by the adrenaline of competition. There were two railroad companies building the transcontinental railroad, the Union Pacific from the East, and the Central Pacific from the West. The two companies struggled to beat each other in slamming down a record mileage of track. At first, Congress avidly pursued the project and they had stipulated that the Central Pacific should stop when it reached the California Border (Congress was full of Easterners). In 1865, after much argument about the aid the government was providing to the two companies, the actual construction of the transcontinental railroad was started. • 12. The Ethics Of Embryonic Stem Cells Problem The society is not at an agreeable point when it comes to the research of stem cells obtained from human embryos. The disagreement narrows down to a clash between the two fundamental principles of ethics: The duty to prevent and alleviate suffering, and the duty to respect the value of human life. In most situations, both principles can be satisfied. However, in the research of embryonic stem cells, it might not be inherently possible. Generally, the clash between the two principles is not created by a violation of the duty to prevent or alleviate suffering. In fact, it is the prime purpose of the research. On the other hand, depending on the consideration of the statues of the embryo, the research might violate the duty to respect the value of life. If the embryo is considered a person, its research would be a violation to human life; if the embryo is not considered a person, there would be no violation to human life. Such consideration of the human embryo is the factor responsible for the clash. What do the statues of the embryo and the ethical principle of life have to do with the research of embryonic stem cells? Well, in order to perform a research, a new line of stem cells has to be developed. When the cells are extracted from the blastocyst, the embryo is destroyed since it cannot persist without its inner cells. If the embryo is considered a person, we are then killing a person, as well as violating the ethical principle of respecting the value of life. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Practice Of Corporal Punishment In Schools For decades leading back to slavery, corporal punishment has been used as a form of discipline to correct misbehavior on the plantation. In today s society, it has been used by parents and even incorporated into our schools as a form of punishment. In Kenyan schools it is used as form of classroom management and to punish children for poor academic performance (Kenyan children suffer frequent beatings by teachers, 1999). Corporal punishment, according to the Committee on the Rights of the Child, is the use of physical force with the intention to cause some degree of pain or discomfort, however light. In schools, it mostly involves the use of the hand, a ruler or belt to strike a person across the back or hand. But it can also involve, for example, shaking, pinching or forcing students to stay in uncomfortable positions (Committee on the Rights of the Child, 2006). The practice of corporal punishment in schools as a form of discipline is dated back to ancient times (Greven, 1992). In the early civilizations of Egypt and Babylonia, the practice of physical punishment is related to the severity of the curriculum and atmosphere of schools. Also, it is recorded in history books, that corporal punishment was used in schools in the Western Judeo Christian cultures. List Price And Agent Feedback On The Weekly Calls As RMS has indicated many times, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS continues to believe on many of these assets, the condition or location of the property is the primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list price, but ultimately a sales price well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended days on market and increased carrying costs incurred by the trust. This is an ongoing issue observed with Altisource and discussed on the weekly calls. List price continues to be the biggest concern and is a frequent topic during our weekly target assets and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing activity, property condition, agent feedback and offers (or lack thereof). RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative to our opinion of market value. On listed assets with DOM of more than 60 days and no offers, RMS and Altisource discuss the list price and agent feedback to understand why offers have not been received. RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks. Another recent observation is a continued increase in the number of assets in pending contracts that fall out because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement.
