The document discusses planning a double-page magazine spread interview. It states that the interview will have a formal yet friendly tone, focus on an upcoming artist tour, and avoid slang or audience-specific language to appeal to all readers.
1. Questionnaires
After conducting a questionnaire as part of my research, I decided that I wanted
quite a formal tone in my double page spread but I also wanted it to be quite
friendly as I thought this was quite professional and most magazines, not only music
but others too, take this sort of tone. I want the content of my double page spread
to be about a tour that the artist is going to go on as I can turn the interview in any
direction, taking about the tour, the music and the artist. I will not use slang or any
audience-specific language as I want to keep my magazine as professional as
possible and for it to apply to all areas and people rather than a certain group.

This is an article of an interview in Q magazine with Adele . The tone in
this article is formal but friendly as the interviewer stays on topic and
keeps the questions relevant yet it is obvious that Adele feels
comfortable and at ease with the interviewer and with talking about her
life. The double page spread below also shows a formal and friendly
interview with Lily Allen as the standfirst provides the friendliness of the
article in describing her home and the setting whereas the actual
interview so the formality of the interview.

In this article with My
Chemical Romance in
Kerrang magazine the
interview is about the
band recording their new
album, while this isn’t
exactly what I want to talk
about in my double page
spread it is one of the
topics that I will write
about.
4. I will not use slang or any audience-specific language as I want to keep my magazine as
professional as possible and for it to apply to all areas and people rather than a certain
group.
In this article about Florence Welch in NME there is not
slang or colloquialisms this may be because Florence
Welch is a popular artist and in some parts of the
country there may not be people who understand
certain slang words. Because of this I don’t want to use
any slang as it would not appeal to my target audience
in all parts of the country.
