2. The mid shot image of a middle age
woman posing with her hand close to her
face. The chunky big bracelets as a main
feature shown on her. These show she is
into hard and heavy music, the bracelets
being heavy and dark may suggest that the
kind of genre of music she listens to is
rock/punk. The black leather coast shows
she likes her own style and does not follow
mainstream fashionable clothing. This
suggests she is proud of her own style of
clothing and music taste. The very pale
make up also shows a rocky/punk side to
her, especially with all the dark clothing on
her making her skin tone look more pale.
She carry's out the dark look with her
jacket, hair and eye shadow, this is all dark
and unusual. This is a mid shot of her, from
a straight angle but with her head tilted
away from the camera.
For my final double page spread I will use a mid shot image because I
believe they are the most successful. Mid shot images, you can see the
style of clothes which represents their genres and the way they are
looking and posing towards the camera.
3. The text in this double page spread uses quote
from the artist herself, this helps the audience
connect to Kaytie more and shows the way she
has been portrayed. One of the quote she's
uses ‘I don't write songs about ever lasting
fantasy love! I write about reality’ She comes
across very abrupt, this shows she has a strong
personality. Leaving this to the audience shows
her strong interest and her opinion of her genre.
The makes the audience feel like they know her
very well and can maybe relate to what she is
saying.
In my double page spread I will add an
interview into the text to make it more
interesting for the audience, I will use quotes
from the interview in the way this double
page spread has as I think its a successful
idea and have seen it in many different
magazines.
4. The text in this double page spread uses very
informal works, they have used a swear word in
this article. This portrays Kayties thoughts are
very strong. They have used speech marks for
when Kaytie speaks, being on the same line as
the other person shows the article has not been
written in the correct structure. Her sentences
are very basic not to the high expectation
standards of English. A few spelling mistakes
shown in the article which is not professional to
the audience.
For my double page spread I will make sure
my article is written to my best ability and no
silly mistakes made.
5. The Strapline decodes the magazine in way that we understand her genre
of music and sums up the artist herself. The Strapline uses the phrase
‘catty attitude’, this relates to the title because her name is being shorted
to ‘kat’. Using this relates her to an animal. This allows her to be describes
like a cat because it links to her name. The way the designer has done
this makes it very catchy to the audience.
The way they have described her a ‘London’s new it girl’ It girls means she
is very popular and is known all over the city. London being a big city
shows how popular and known she is. This shows she has worked her
way up and become famous and known.
I like how they have used this phrase, it was known very well in the
90’s so people know what they mean. Although the genre being R&B
and pop is more popular to listen to after this time.
6. The final paragraph of the text
speaks about her future in the music
industry. This is a good way to
finish the interview about her carrier.
The last line of text advertises her
album coming out.
Changing the colour enables this to
stand out from the text.
For my double page spread I will
take advantage of the magazine
and advertise inside to promote
albums and tours of my artist.
