constructing this product?

2. Camera Work
Camera work includes all different types of shots.
It includes angles, panning, zoom, tracking shots
etc. We learnt all about camera work at the
beginning of starting our course in September.
The first time we put it into action was in our
preliminary task. This included shots such as
Match on Action (this was lots of different shots
arranged to look like one continuous motion),
Shot Reverse Shot (which is a conversational shot
filmed from behind the persons shoulder) and the
180’ rule (keeps two characters in the same scene
as always having the same left to right or right to
left synchronization).

3. In our final task we added our knowledge of what
we knew and what we had been taught all into one
so we had a clear idea of all our camera shots.
(This is seen in our storyboards).
Without knowing about camera work we would
have been clueless to what certain shots are called
and how we could link it all into a successful video,

4. Sound
We learnt about Sound throughout the year of
studying Media. We learnt key words such as
diagetic and non diagetic. These terminologies we
were able to construct into our final product as we
needed music to set the atmosphere and tense
mood, but we also needed dialogue. Non diagetic
means sound such as music and things which the
character cannot hear and diagetic means sounds
which are natural and what the characters can hear
such as somebody sneezing or talking.
We adapted these key terms and knowledge into
our film and had diagetic and non diagetic sound,
aswell as dialogue in our clip.

5. Colour
In school we have learnt about the use
of colour in the media. Different
colour can give the audience different
feelings about what they are watching.
For example all films made in the 30’s
would be black and white as there
technological advances were not like
they are today.
We used our own knowledge to
change the colour and contrast of
some of our clips in our film to give
the audience a different feel and
emotion.

6. Editing Editing can cover a wide variety of
aspects of media. Most of it is after
filming and done on programmes such
as ‘GIMP’ and ‘Photoshop’. Aspects
such as transitions can make a big
difference to a certain type of clip. For
example if you have a slow fade in
transition or a gentle ripple it gives the
sense of calm and tranquility. As with
if you have no transition but a
0.05second black blank screen
accompanied by a loud bang it has the
impression of fright and horror.
We took all of these into account and
added transitions into our clip.
