HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCT ENGAGE WITH
AUDIENCE AND HOW WOULD IT BE DISTRIBUTED
AS A REAL LIFE MEDIA TEXT?
QUESTION 2
Introduction
 Thriller genre is one of the most viewed genre in the media
industry. Thriller is a genre of fiction, having numerous, often
overlapping subgenres. Thriller are characterized and defined by
the moods they elict, giving viewers heightened feelings of
suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety.
 The twists and turns of the thriller keeps our adrenaline flowing
and activate a part of our brains that is not stimulated. This sets off
chemicals that have a feeling euphoric, and the feeling can be
very addictive.
 However, I carried out a survey through questionnaire and the
audience was in favor of comedy and thriller was the second
highest that they would like to watch. I was also in favor of a
thriller movie so I finalized it as my genre. Also my audience
TARGET AUDIENCE
 To gather data about favorable
audience of my genre, I carried
out a research by finding
information from internet.
 However, I carried out a survey
through questionnaire and the
audience was in favor of comedy
and thriller was the second
highest that they would like to
watch. I was also in favor of a
thriller movie so I finalized it as
my genre. Also my audience
majorly supported a crime thriller
 To connect my film to the
genre I choose, I used the
props and location accordingly.
I chose knife as my main prop
as my movie lies under crime
thriller genre. The location was
an area covered with trees
and was very quite.
 All this was according to what
my target audience preferred.
This data was collected by a
questionnaire. I tried to go
according to my audience and
the genre I chose.
 As referred before I did a lot of
research in past which helped
me in making my film.
 As CHRISTOPHER NOLAN is
a famous director, I followed
his footsteps to create my
movie. Nolan makes sure that
he only makes a film once he
has a good script.
DISTRIBUTION
 Distribution is the process of sharing, publishing, and promoting
your images, blogs, videos, and other content formats.It’s
how you’re providing your audience with the content they’re
consuming through different platforms and media formats.
 Distributing any media product needs huge budget and consumer
base.
 However, as a small scale production, due to low budget and less
consumer base in comparison with the big six institutes.
 If I consider WALT DISNEY PICTURES, who gain extreme amount
of profits annually. Social media is the most effective and
convenient for a low budget way to distribute my product and
collect reviews.
INSTAGRAM AND YOUTUBE
The online platform I used to distribute my product was
instagram. I posted a poster on my story and got a lot of
feedbacks that created huge hype.
Moreover, it was less convenient as the platform is free
and doesn’t require any extra charges for promotion.
To add to the successful distribution of the poster only,
many people even reshared it on their pages which
added to the publicity of the movie.
I then used YouTube and vimeo to post my final video.
The video received such amazing reviews, likes and comments
within 24hours.
