1. HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCT USE OR CHALLENGE CONENTIONS
AND HOW DOES IT REPRESENTS SOCIAL GROUPS OR ISSUES?

2.  The conventions of a thriller movie are to use low-key
lighting, quick cuts, shadows, tension music, diegetic
sound of breathing, montage of shots, black and white
shots, and many other factors. All these factors create
a very on point picture that will be visualized by the
audience. These factors make the clip interesting for
the viewers.

3.  My film “DENOUNCED” is based on a
thriller genre. This majorly meets the
conventions that exhibit in a thriller genre
as they play a vital role in catching up with
audience. Thriller genre usually creates
tension and suspense to attract the
audience and make them curious about
what further will be seen in the film or
clip. This majorly shows a battle between
protagonist and antagonist. However , my
goal was the same to create a suspenseful
environment for my viewers and to make
them curious and think what will happen
next . So , I started working on it in a way
that I thought of making a thriller, crime
based short film. My story was a built in
concept of a murder that was done by
someone else but an innocent person was
convicted for it.

4.  In my movie, I have
achieved some of the
factors like montage of
shots were seen where a
close up of slipper was
shown and to focus black
and white shot I have
shown flashback in the
movie.

5.  Thriller films as a rule usually have non-diegetic music
playing in the background creating a sound bridge to
create and determine the certain desired atmosphere.
Orchestral music is also then used within thriller
films.
 Also, the music is very much important in these kind
of movies that creates the effect of anxiety, fear. I have
used several sounds like: foot steps, ignition sound and
a medium pitched sound to create a certain effect for
my movie.

6. Moreover I built up the tension in my
movie by not revealing the true culprits
sooner and only showing them near the end
so the audience is glued to the screen for
the grand reveal.
Furthermore, the movie is shot in an area
where no one was seen. This connotes that
the victim has no help. Also, the area is
majorly surrounded with trees that creates
a visualizing effect of fear. And there is no
human seen which connotes loneliness.
The characters were playing the major role
with their expressions and by their attire.
The dead body was shown in white clothes
to represent his purity. The victim was
shown in light colored formal attire to show
that he was going for work and was
innocent. The people who were the actual
murders were in black attire to show their
evil side.
MISE EN SCENE

7. Blue highlights and
shadows are used to create
a somber or suspenseful
scene. Close up shots are
taken to emphasize the
panic while starting the car
and to show the expression
of fear while seeing the
dead body.
I have focused on
saturation being the lowest
as to make the flashback
very prominent. The
dissolve effect is used
commonly to comprehend
the next scene.

8.  Denounced is not only a play of a thriller crime,
rather a brutal truth of our society. A phase where no
justice is provided and the crime rate is reaching at its
peak. The main problem is that the people helping in
need suffer more as by getting blamed and the ones
who are the actual culprits live freely.
 By this people who want to help think twice before
helping by the fact that they will get blamed for what
they haven't done.
 Social group is portrayed in a manner that the adult
men are dominating that teen ager with their power.
