• A business mission statement is what is stated to reflect the
organization’s purpose, that is, what it wants to accomplish. (Yusniza
and Nur)
• It should be clear, realistic and provide motivation for the company to
reach its objective.
• A well rounded mission statement answers:
• Who are our customers?
• What is our business?
• Where are we going?

Developing Measurable Companywide
Objectives
• Goals are objective that are specified with respect to time and
magnitude. (SMART Goals)
• MBOs (Manager by Objectives) should must meet the following four
criteria:
1. They must be arranged hierarchically, from most to least important.
2. Objectives should quantitative wherever possible.
3. Goals should be realistic
4. Objective must be consistent
