This document contains summaries of two research studies. The first study investigated whether university students learned more vocabulary using special computer software called CAVOCA compared to not using it. Surveys and observation were used to collect data from students starting to learn English on their vocabulary acquisition. Results were presented in charts and graphics. The second study used a descriptive approach to examine how role play activities could be implemented effectively for teaching a second language to distance learners. Observations and interviews were conducted to understand students' experiences and opinions of this teaching method. The conclusion was that teachers need to find ways to encourage and support the use of spoken English.
