The document compares the cover and contents page of a music magazine to earlier preliminary versions. For the cover, clear text and a prominent masthead make the information easier to read compared to before. The offset cover star image draws more attention than just the magazine name. The contents page now includes conventional elements like the masthead, issue date, page numbers in graphics, and previews of article topics - improvements over the preliminary version that lacked these details. The images also relate better to the featured articles.

3. I have used a clear selling line at the top of
the cover witch adds to audiences buying
appeal. Compare this to the one I used on
the student magazine, the text stands out a
lot better, making reading it easier.
For the masthead if you compare this to the one that
I used in the preliminary task, the font feels less
generic and stands out more, this apples to my
target audience.
My finished main cover includes a lot of different
coverlines, this conventions tells the audience
what's to come from the magazine. Compare this
to the preliminary cover and I have no coverlines,
showing the development of ideas.
As for my cover star, the image is probably the
most important and influential things about a
magazine cover. One way in which my cover image
has developed, is by the cover star is slightly of
centered and also covering part of the masthead.
This makes the audience feel as if the artist is more
important than the actual name of the magazine.
Also the cloths are dark witch fits to the theme of
the cover. On the far right of the page the cover
star is holding a lighter and seems to be burning
himself. This relates to the sinister theme of the
magazine, affective attracting the target audience.
The Headline and subheading both relate to the
image, as it clearly states who the artist is. The font
of “WALTERS” relates to the style of magazine and
to the actual artist. As he plays heavy music and
doesn't really do thing the lawful way.

5. The masthead is at the top of the contests
page, witch is very conventional of music
magazines. This contrasts with my
preliminary task as I didn’t include the
masthead in the cover.
I have also included a feature of a previous magazine
on the cover, with links to subscribe to the magazine
online. This could be considered conventional as
most magazines has some sort of online website
now.
one of the main contents page conventions would
be the page numbers. For my contents page I chose
to have the page numbers inside a blue graphic
making them stand out, allowing the audience an
easier way around the magazine.
This contents page shows the date and issue
number of the magazine, but in the preliminary
tasks I haven’t done that. This allows my magazine
to look more professional and authentic.
The images that I have used don’t take up the
whole of the contents page. The images also relate
to features throughout the contents page. This
emphasizes that the magazine will be well
structured and adds to the professionalism of the
magazine. One example would be the image of Dan
Riddick as this will be the article that I produce.
The main way that this contents page differs from
the contents page in the preliminary tasks is the
information on the contents page about the pages
in the magazine to come. For example, the box in
the bottom right hand corner states loads of
different artists and what their article in the
magazine is about.
