2. Hardware
Camera:
Nikon D3100 – Digital SLR, For taking
precise and high quality photos.
Horseshoe Flash Trigger:
Infra red signal sent to Strobe flash –
triggers the flash in-sync with the camera
shutter, for high quality and accurate
lighting.
Strobe Flash:
Hemisphere 300 - Dial on back adjusts
output – modeling light on. Auxiliary lights
set to slave (triggered in-sync with by built in
light sensor), for precise lighting for good
photos.
Soft Boxes:
The model lights use soft boxes – they
disperse the light and give a softer, rounder
light on the subject.
Backdrop:
is lit with a further two strobes on full power
to create a high exposure, white
background, tis gives a more usable
photograph in a media product.
3. Creative Uses, Hardware
Camera:
I used the camera in a creative way by
positioning it at an angle so to catch the
most shadow to the left side of my cover
stars face. I did this to add to the sinister
theme of the rest of the cover.
Horceshoe Flash Trigger:
I used the flash trigger well as when I took
the photo with the camera, it snaps creating
an after the shutter giving me a sharp
contrast of light that I used when changing
the picture from colour to black and white.
Soft Boxes:
The way that the soft boxes were
implemented well into my photos was by
placing tem at an acute angle creating a
sharp highlight to the picture with the
contrast of shadow to light. This also help
me create the sinister theme when
changing the image from colour to black
and white.
Strobe Flash:
One creative way that I used the strobe
flash to my advantage was by, using the in
sync strobe flash to capture my models in
the best lighting possible, creating a precise
and sharp image.
Backdrop:
The back drop was arguably the most
important aspects of the photos apart from
the actual camera. This is because it allows
you to cut out the cover star with ease. The
backdrop also bounces the light back off it
on to the cover star making the image even
crisper than before.
4. Software
Adobe Photoshop CS5:
I used Photoshop for pretty much all of the tasks that I had to complete.
Photoshop is an Image editing software that I used to create my cover
article and parts of the contents.
Adobe InDesign CS5:
InDesign was an important part of the production of my article as it
allowed my to have a wide range of options when it came to placing and
maneuvering text.
Wordpress.com:
Wordpress.com is an online site that allows you to create your own
websites, this is what I used to place all of the coursework that I've done
throughout the year.
Firefox:
Firefox is a well know search engine, that allows you to search the
internet for the things that you need, images fonts etc..
PowerPoint:
PowerPoint is a program that allows you to create and arrange a se of
slides. I used this when creating the Questions and for some of the
homework's.
Slideshare:
Is a site that allows you to place your chosen slides into Wordpress, this
is very important as without it I would’t have been able to place my
slides into Wordpress.
5. Creative Uses, Software
Adobe Photoshop CS5:
Photoshop is one of the most important pieces
of software that I have used to create the
magazine. Some of the creative ways that I
used Photoshop was using the layers section
that they have, this allows me to place
graphics, images and text however they way I
want.
Other creative way that Photoshop was the
lasso tool, this allowed me to cut out images to
so I could place them over graphics and it
would still look professional.
Adobe InDesign CS5:
One creative way that I used InDesign was
using the text positioning tool. This allowed me
to have a greater maneuverability to the text,
something that Photoshop didn't’t allow. This
included the ability to; add a Drop cap, add a
margin, add columns and a gutter.
Wordpress.com:
A creative way that I used Wordpress was
using the sites theme selector. This gave me
the ability to style my website in away that
Firefox:
I used Firefox creatively as with it I could
search for important research information,
to help with some of the tasks. I also used
Firefox so that I could get some hyperlinks
to other websites when answering the
questions.
PowerPoint:
One way that I creatively used PowerPoint,
was using the theme tab at the top of the
page giving me different styles of slides to
present my ideas with. This allowed me to
present the question in the way I wanted
making it more personal to me.
Slideshare:
I creatively used Slideshare, by adding my
own personalized slide over onto my
Wordpress website. This gives me the
ability to add it in o mater what.
