This document discusses problem-based learning (PBL) and project-based learning (PrBL/PjBL) as teaching methods. PBL uses an inquiry model where students learn through solving open-ended problems. It is student-centered. PrBL/PjBL involves collaborative long-term investigations into real-world problems. Both require structuring problems/projects that promote critical thinking. Examples are provided for using PBL in health, biology, home economics, and science classes. Guidelines are presented for effective implementation of PBL and PrBL/PjBL, including ensuring relevance, appropriate scaffolding, and clear assessment standards.
