1. Props
These are the props I plan to use in my
music video. They are very simple but suit
the genre of the song well. I have used some
other different props as well.
2. Door
Prop: The prop will be a door as it will be in certain
sequences where a protagonist is opening/closing a
door it is used simply for effect. The door is located in
the sixth form building on the second floor. The
location is overall more and it will be easier to film
here.
What will happen with the prop: The prop will be
used during the sequence and will mainly be used for
effect and might be used to show the main actor
walking into the studio for a build-up.
Who will use it :
The person will be seen walking up to the door and
opening it to walk into the room. The person using he
prop will be he main performer of the song. This will
be either Brandon or Nile
How often will it be seen:
It will mainly be seen once at the beginning of the
song however it may be used other times. Such as at
the end to show the actor leaving.
Is it important: It will only be used a few times and
will not have a significant role in the music video.it will
mainly be used to build up the video.
3. Piano
Prop: The prop will be a piano it can be any kind and any size as it
will only have a short appearances throughout the song. When
there is no singing involved and the piano can be heard I will use
shots of the piano to fill in some shots.
What will happen with the prop: The props will be played at the
beginning of the music video. At the start of the music video it will
be played as the intro to the song where there is no singing.
Who will use it :
The person seen playing the piano will not be seen as it will only
be the hands however the main actor will most likely be seen
playing this to make the video feel more homemade and simple. I
will use a variety of shots from the side or on top to make it more
exciting.
How often will it be seen:
It will mainly be seen once at the beginning of the song however it
may be used other times. I could also use the prop as a form of
cutaways n the music video t give it more meaning. I may have to
move the piano somewhere else to film as bac drop will be
important to the music video. This could involve the studio or
drama room.
Is it important: It is important because it will play pivotal roles in
the song and will be seen when nobody is singing similar to how it
is used in the actual music video. It will also help to build up the
start if the song and may play more roles later in the video. The
build up of the piano can be used at the start of the song when no
singing is present a lot can be used at this point such as shots of
the actor getting ready to sing.
4. Instruments (Drums and Guitar)
Prop: The props will be seen in various shots to
emphasise that it is a rock video. I will have
various shots of the main actor playing the music
instruments. This will link to the song as these
instruments are played in the song.
What will happen with the prop: The props will
be shown in the music video but not played. This
is to emphasise that the song is from the rock
genre as this is one of the common codes and
conventions of the genre.
Who will use it :
I will have various shots of the instruments. The
main shots of the instruments will show the
main actor attempting to play them for the
music video. They will also have a part in the
small narrative of the music video.
How often will it be seen:
It will mainly be seen during the performance
section of the video as I will use them as filler
objects in order to make the video look and feel
more authentic.
5. Microphone
Prop: The prop will be a microphone it will be
used when the main actor is performing in the
music video
What will happen with the prop: The prop
will be used simply to show that the actor is
performing and to give it a more realistic
effect.
Who will use it :
The person seen using it will be the main
actor/singer. It will not be always seen in the
video but only in more wider shots.
How often will it be seen:
It will mainly be seen a few times at various
points throughout the music video and will
play a important role. It will allow the viewers
to know that it is a performance video.
