Unit13 – planning and pitchinga print basedmedia product
Format I am going to put together a hip hop magazine together, I’ll put it
together so that it has enough information so that it can cover both
magazine front cover and a DPS as part of a larger marketing project
Working title This title is called BEAT magazine. The reason why I have chosen to call
it this is because all music has a beat in it so it highlights that the
magazine is about music so people will know
Genre The genre for the magazine is hip hop/rap. The reason why I have
chosen this genre is because it is an up and coming genre of music and it
is becoming popular in the music industry
Content The content in the magazine will be primarily interviews from famous
artists and up and coming events in the music industry. It will contain
the latest news that is relevant to the hip hop/rap industry
Style or
approach
The colour scheme for the magazine will be bright colours so that
people can easily recognise it when they see it in a shop. Furthermore it
is welcoming to see brighter colours on a magazine and it will entice
them into reading the magazine
Audience The rap and hip hop industry is aimed at the younger generation mostly
so the target audience is mainly 13-20 year olds. This is because the
younger generation enjoy listening to that music because that specific
genre came out in their generations so they are more inclined to listen
to it rather than grown ups
Length The length of the magazine is 60 pages. This is because it is released
monthly. The reason why there is 60 pages is because as the magazine is
only released once a month their needs to be enough pages to cover the
month of information in the music information
Frequency The magazine will be produced once a month. This means it can contain
as much information as possible because in the music industry a lot
happens in a month so there will be a lot of information that the reader
might have missed
Why? This is so that people will have something to look forward to at the end
of the month. It also covers all of the information that has happened in
the previous month so people are informed of what has happened
