 There are many benefits to joining a professional organization. These include access to
online resources that can help advance a teacher's career or provide further training
within a specific topic area.
 Professional organizations also allow teachers the opportunity to network. Creation of
these relationships allow professionals to share ideas for improvement and expansion in
an industry.
 As stated, membership in a professional organizations grants access to many resources,
many of which allow for professional development (Educba, n.d.).
 An example of this is on the ISTE website which has a “Learn” section. Within this
section there is information about professional learning networks along with
information about attaining a ISTE Certification (ISTE, 2020).

 Becoming a member of a professional organization also allows professionals to
build their resume with the opportunity of possible internship or leadership
opportunities as well as help with finding a jobs
 Professionals can also begin to build a support system by helping you build
relationship with other professionals that can be leaned on during times of crisis.

 The podcasts can help teachers serve their students by providing teachers with
knowledge on how to use tech to improve lessons
 This could benefit all student populations

 From the blog, teachers can read posts regarding improving STEM education
programs along with information for improvements in educational leadership.

information on how to bring equity into the classroom when using technology
along with ways to bring more creativity into the classroom.

 This resource could help teachers provide students with up to date technology along
with researched methods on how to integrate it within a classroom setting. This
especially is important with technology integration for students with disabilities.

 Presentations that I would have been interested in include:
 A Look Inside the Finnish Education System,
 Blended Learning with Google
 Create and Curate a Digital Library.
 These were chosen because it would be interesting to learn more about other
education systems and techniques that could be added to improve our system.
The presentation regarding blended learning and creating a digital library were
chosen because they seem to provide a closer look into basic aspects of
technology integration within a classroom.

 Professional organizations, specifically ISTE, can be very beneficial to teachers.
 ISTE provides resources that help with professional growth, ability to connect with
experts within the field and access to education research.
