Production Plan
I want to release my film around spring time, maybe March/April time, because not much
happens around these months and it’s getting out of the winter months so people will want to
go out to the cinemas more to see my film. It’s far enough away from Christmas that people
are over that and well into the New Year.
Following on from feedback from my presentation I am going to persue my film idea ‘I’ll get
what I want’, this film was cleaner and overall more feasible. One thing I do need to consider
is that I will need to create specific snapchat accounts for my film, so I’m not using my
actors. I will create the two accounts for the two characters, with their names, and then
delete the accounts after.
I need a male and a female for the two lead roles, I have chosen Joe Manzi to play the role
of Brad and Libbie Dunn to play the role of Lauren.
I will also possibly need some extras to be in the background or be friends of the main
characters, I will find who is available nearer the time for this. I am going to be doing all the
filming and editing myself so I’m not going to need anyone to help me. This will make it
easier as I know what I want to do and what I need to do it.
I plan on using around £30 for by budget as I don’t want to spend excessive amounts of
money on things I already have. I will choose costumes and makeup based on what my
actors already have and will only need to buy a few props if I don’t have what I need. I won’t
need to spend money on lighting as I’m planning on using ambient lighting as much as I can.
If I do however need lighting, I will try to use what I already have, e.g. Lamps, bedroom lights
etc. As the filming is local to the school, I won’t need to spend any money on transport. The
cast and crew will also supply their own lunch so no money will be spent there.
EQUIPMENT
CONTINGENCY PLAN
Type What will I use? Why have I chosen it? How will I use it?
Equipment Camera (Cannon
1100)
Good camera for filming, I will use the camera on
a tripod to film.
Equipment Tripod I’ll use a tripod to make
sure that my film isn’t
shaky.
To put my camera on so
I don’t have to hold the
camera when filming,
and it won’t be shaky.
Equipment Microphone I will use a microphone
with a long cable so the
sound is as good as it can
be.
I will attach it to the
camera and get
someone to hold the mic
close to my actors to
hear their dialogue
clearly.
Equipment SD Card Ones I have access too. Use this to store my
footage on.
Equipment SD Card Reader It fits the SD card I’ll use. Use this to move my
footage from camera to
computer.
Equipment Computer I need it for editing To edit my film using
premier pro.
Equipment Headphones To use when editing my
film.
In the computer to hear
the audio
Software Adobe Premier Pro The best software to edit
my film on, and I know
how to use it.
On the computer to edit
my film
Issues that may need resolving Resolution to these issues
Actor unavailability If for some reason one or more of my actors
is unavailable on a specific day that I plan on
filming, I will just reschedule. However, if it is
more of an issue and an actor can’t do any
of when I plan on filming, I will find someone
else that fits the role,
Location unavailability I don’t think I will have any issues with my
locations being unavailable as its just
bedrooms and my school. However, should
an issue arise I will find another house or
bedroom to film in.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS
Owner Legal Impact Impact on Use
Filmed footage Me I will not need
permission as it’s my
own footage, so no
legal issues will
occur.
There won’t be an
impact because
there’s no one to
copyright.
Studio Logo Me I won’t need
permission because
I will use my own
studio logo for my
film.
There won’t be an
impact because
there’s no one to
copyright.
Music YouTube/Artist I’m not sure what
song I’m going to use
yet but when I do I
will seek permission
off the artist or record
label.
I’ll make sure I don’t
just use copyrighted
music.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Impact on my film Legal Impact
Certificate of the film My film is going to be a 12,
so ‘Sexual activity may be
briefly and discreetly
portrayed, Strong language
may be permitted,
depending on the manner in
which it is used, There may
be nudity, but in a sexual
context it must be brief and
discreet’. So the scenes of
sending pictures will be brief
to coincide with these
requirements.
The BBFC (British Board of
Film Classification) is in
charge of age certificates. I
need to adhere to these
rules because the BBFC will
reclassify as a 15 if they
think it doesn’t follow the
classifications of a 12.
Content considerations My film doesn’t include
much content that would
offend people, however
there will be some implied
nudity, but I will be discrete
and make sure I follow the
guide lines.
My film will be reclassified if
it goes over what a 12 can
include.
Film being shown online When submitting my film to
‘Short of the Week’ it needs
to be no longer than forty
minutes and I need to make
sure I have all the rights for
music and footage I use.
My film will be shorter than
forty minutes so that’s not a
problem and I will make sure
I get the rights before
submitting my film.
