PRODUCTION PLAN
WORK PLAN
EQUIPMENT GUIDE LIST
TYPE WHAT YOU WILL USE WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN THIS HOW WILL YOU USE IT
EQUIPMENT Camera I have chosen a Canon camera so
I can film my short film with a
high quality for all the different
shots
To shoot my film and filmthe
shots and scenes
EQUIPMENT Tripod I have chosen a Tripod to help
enhance my film to make it look
more professional by making the
shots more stable
For moving shots, e.g. running
scene, I will use a tripod to make
the movement much cleaner and
stable
EQUIPMENT SD card I have chosen an SD card to store
my filmed footage onto
I will use the card to save the
footage onto a computer
EQUIPMENT SD card reader I have chosen an SD card reader
to move the footage onto the
computer
I will use the footage I save onto
the computer to start editing the
short film
EQUIPMENT Computer I have chosen a computer to save
the data and start editing on the
scenes and shots
I will edit the film to complete
my final film
EQUIPMENT Headphones I have chosen headphones to
listen to the recorded footage
and scenes to pick the ones I
want to use in my film
I will use the headphones by
listening to the recorded footage
and seeing if anything needed
rerecording or if they were good
enough for my film
SOFTWARE Adobe Premiere Pro I have chosen Adobe Premiere
Pro to edit my short filmon and
to edit and adapt my footage and
scenes to make them how I want
them to look
I will use this software to edit
and help produce the best filmI
can create
SOFTWARE Adobe Photoshop I have chosen Adobe Photoshop
to help create my studio logo
and title
I will use this software to add
text and images together to
promote my short film
SOFTWARE Adobe Audition or Audacity I have chosen Adobe Audition
and Audacity to help edit any
sound to be a voiceover on the
film
I will create the loud footsteps
and heavy breathing separately
and edit them on this software
ASSETS Studio title/logo I have chosen to add a studio
title and logo to help promote
who my company will be
I will create this logo on Adobe
Photoshop by making its simple
and easy to remember
ASSETS Sound effects I have chosen to add sound
effects to enhance the thrilling
genre to the film
I will create these sound effects
by separately recording heavy
breathing and loud footsteps for
when the main character is
getting chased, to enhance the
fear to this scene
CAST AND CREW (WHO AND WHY)
Charlotte Thornton will be playing the main character, who gets ready to go out and suddenly gets captured.
Anthony Waters will be playing the police reporter, asking questions about where the parents’ daughter was last seen etc.
Elaine Waters will be playing the mum of the captured girl.
Glenn Waters will be playing the dad of the captured girl.
PLANNED BUDGET
I am planning to keep my planned budget free, as much as I can. I will be using props such as a balaclava which the catcher will wear but also is
the key significant prop at the end where the audience are convinced of the dad being the hidden identity and capturing his own daughter.
Costumes will be normally stereotypical of the characters age. Charlotte will be wearing ripped jeans and a jumper and then when she goes
out, maybe a dress or smart trousers and a jacket. Both the parents can wear trousers and a jacket or skirt depending on mum or dad.
I will have to hire or buy a costume for the police reporter and the catcher in the film. For the police reporter I will only shoot from over the
shoulder or from the waist up so I need to hire a police jacket and cap, and for the catcher I will hire a black all in one so this character is
completely hidden.
I will also have to provide a clipboard and pen for when the reporter is questioning the parents.
LAUNCH DATE
The launch date for my short filmwill be on MARCH 22, 2019. This is because it gives me enough time to filmall the footage of the film and
gives me time afterwards to promote my film on any social media such as YouTube and Short of the Week to gather various viewers and
audiences. I also chose this date because it is a Friday so people would be waiting till the last day of their work week to watch and relax from
their everyday life.
CLASHES
This date does not clash with any seasonal or local events because it has been Christmas and Easter is in April so March would be a convenient
time to upload.
PERMISSION SLIPS
I will not need any permission slips as all my characters are over the age of 18, however if I choose to filmthe friends and maybe people acting
as the public I will sort out permission slips if they are under the age of 18.
CONTINGENCY PLANS
Some aspects could go wrong in the production of shooting and editing for my film. Firstly I will have to plan when I film my filmbecause of
weather conditions and times of the day as the time of the day may get too dark or light. When I shoot the capture scene I will have to ensure
the time of day is dark but not too dark that I cannot see the characters. For this scene rain also may be an issue because I don’t want anyone
falling and hurting themselves if the road or pavement gets too slippery. The pavement I was going to filmon is covered in leaves which could
be a problem if rains makes it too wet and slippery to risk. I will also have to not pick a busy time of the day when filming near roads and cars
because being near cars could be dangerous if near dark and also the noise could distract the actors and could drown out their audio.
Problems when editing could include that audio on the recorded footage may be too loud or too quiet so they may need to be rerecorded
again to make the scenes better for the film.
LEGAL REPORT
WHAT WHO OWNS IT LEGAL IMPACT ANY IMPACT ON USE
YOUR FILMED FOOTAGE I own my own filmed footage I will copyright my footage so
others are able to ask permission
to use it in the future
I have asked permission from all
my actors for them to be filmed
and used in my footage. I do not
have any actors under the age of
18 so I do not need to ask
permission. All actors know that
this film could be shared onto
YouTube and Short of the Week
STUDIO TITLE LOGO SEQUENCE I own my own studio title logo as
I made it myself
I will not need any permission as
it is my own
SOUND EFFECTS I will record my own sound
effects like heaving breathing as
this is easy to record and edit
I will not need any permission as
it is my own
SOUND EFFETS/MUSICAL SCORE I will include musical scores and
some sound effects, like loud
footsteps, from Bensound.com
to enhance the thriller genre
It will be copyright free however
if it is not then I will have to ask
for permission as it is not my
own
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
WHAT WHAT IS THE IMPACT ON YOUR FILM LEGAL IMPACT
WHAT CERTIFICATE WOULD YOU RATE? I would rate my film a 12A because there are
some jump scares which young people might
find fearful so having a responsible adult
accompanying will make them feel safe
BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) are
in charge of age certificates and rating films
the suitable age restriction.
CONTENT CONSIDERATIONS My film includes content of getting captured
which could cause fear and bad imagination
and thoughts to young viewers. I have
however shot this film to interest viewers by
adding others shots where lighting is lighter
to distract them from the darks scenes.
