This document provides details on the layout and design elements used in a double page magazine spread. Key elements include a pull quote over an image to give a taste of the article tone, page numbers in the corner with the masthead, a casual yet not conversational article text with a drop cap, title using different font sizes, a fact file on the right page with consistent fonts and colors, blended background images over both pages, and researched magazine design traits.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
2. PULL QUOTE
I have used a pull quote (bottom) over my image, as this is a
common trait in almost all magazines. It gives the reader a
small taste of the style and tone of the article.
However, when I put this over the image, due to the Take
Cover, it was quite difficult to read, to improve this, I used white
and black shapes (top left) to give the text a solid backing.
3. PAGE NUMBERS
I have included a page number in the bottom outer corner of
each page. I have then inserted a copy of my masthead on
the inside side of the number, to create a sense of continuity.
An example of one of my page numbers is shown below. This is
on a right hand page, so would be positioned in the bottom
right hand corner, hence why the masthead is on the left.
4. ARTICLE
For my article, I have use a quite
casual mode of address. However, I
have not made it so casual that I
have included text language.
I have used a drop cap, as I have
noticed this as a common trait of
magazines with a similar target
audience as mine.
Another trait is the use of continuous
prose, instead of a more
conversational interview.
I have used black rectangles at 50%
transparency to make my text stand
out of my multi-tonal background.
5. TITLE
Below is my article title. I used the Take Cover font so used a
large white colour block behind it to make it stand out. I also
used different font sizes, which I noticed in my research was a
used in Kerang! Magazine.
6. FACT FILE
I have include a fact file on the members of the
band down the right side of the right page of my
double page spread. I have noticed that this is a
common element used in magazine, most probably
due to the fact that it connotes a simplistic feel to
the magazine.
I have used the Take Cover font all through the fact
file to keep consistency. Also, to make this even
more consistent, I have used my three colours within
my house style.
7. IMAGES
I have chosen these images for my
double page spread, as I think they
look quite professional, due too the
shallow depth of field.
8. LAYOUT
I have made the
main photograph
for the
background over
both page. I have
used an image
blend, an element
that I took from
my earlier
research.
