- 2. Front Cover Process I created the masthead using the text tool and set the font to Times New Roman. I made the size of the text 100px to make it fill the top of the cover. I adjusted the text colour because it was hard to see – it matched the background colour. I used this tool to create the cover lines as well, and rotated them to fill some of the space. I used the hue/saturation tool to change the colour and brightness of the images. I made the images brighter to make them look better and stand out. I used the gradient tool to make the bottom half green and the top half red.
- 3. Reflection • What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product? • I will use shapes and add text inside them to create the cover lines. I’m going to use a design font from flamingtext.com to make the masthead. This will make it stand out and look more interesting. I will use the hue/saturation tool to make the images brighter/darker, and I will change the colour if needed. I will tilt some of the text to make it fill any spare spaces. • I will have one big image to fill the page, and a lot of small images and graphics around it to let the audience know what will be on the double page spread. • I will use the paint tool to draw my graphics. I will make graphics in a separate Photoshop file and move them into the front cover when they are done.
- 4. Double Page Process To make the double page, I created the masthead using text from In-Design. I made the subheadings using font from In-design and made it bold. I listed out the Liverpool FC players using the same font, but I adjusted the size to make it smaller. I made two text boxes to make the columns. I wasn’t sure how to make the columns where if you run out of space in one, the text moves into the next one. Because of time, I didn’t have time to collect all the images I needed and I didn’t have time to edit the one I found. If I had time, I would have found a few more images which had the team players on. I would have edited all the images by using the hue/saturation tool in Photoshop to make the background darker and I would have tried to make the logo lighter to make it clearer to see. For the real magazine I will make a list of everything I need to do. This will help me to manage the time given to make it.
- 5. Reflection • What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product? – I will use a design text from flamingtext.com to make the title which covers both pages. I will use an easy to read font and make them bold to create the headings of the articles. I will use the same font for the article content, but I will use a light version. All the text, apart from the design font will be the same colour throughout. I will create columns to make the layout look organised. – I will have background colour which covers all of the double page. This will help make the text and images stand out. – I will have a range of images and graphics in each article which shows what the article is talking about. Some of them will be at the top of the article and some will split the article into two sections. I will make the graphics in Photoshop and I will edit the images in Photoshop if they need editing.
