This document summarizes the process of creating a contents page for a magazine. It describes editing a photograph to use on the page, using consistent fonts and styles to match the cover, and framing the photo with a black rectangle. It also discusses using different font sizes, colors and styles to make the contents appear busy and packed with information, as well as including a subscription box to generate profits and loyal readers. Finally, it presents an alternate simpler contents page with better edited photography.

1. This is a presentation showing the process of how I created my contents page.

2. This is the photograph I began with. Although the quality is not very good, it will only be a small part of the contents page. I edited out the background and increased contrast so the suit looked darker and sharper.

3. I used the same colours and fonts for the title of the page as I did on the cover to create a consistent style throughout my magazine. I framed the photograph by using a simple black rectangle shape behind it on a lower layer. I used font from ‘dafont.com’ to create the titles for different sections of my index. I used the same arrow and ‘PLUS’ as on the cover as I find this fits the genre of music and style of the magazine very well. It also effectively allows me to add information in small detail to make the page looks full and the magazine seem packed with articles / information / reviews!

5. I used a variety of sizes, colours and styles of font to create the many different pieces of writing as I want the contents to be quite busy. The subscription box is a convention in magazine contents as it creates profit for the company and also a larger loyal fan base. I think this looks realistic.

7. Alternate Contents Page This is an alternate contents page I created. It is similar but has a simpler design. I prefer the crowded appearance of the previous contents page, however I think the editing on this photograph is much more professional, so it looks better.
